Alex: Harry isn't an agent

Hydra: i no longer work with Hera unless I have my favourite contact

Harry: Cookies and tea?

Hydra: of course.

Harry, hanging off of Hydra’s arm at least a foot off the ground happily hissing away and Hydra nodding along like it’s the most important debrief of his life before turning to Alex and Andy like “I will only accept one contact now.”

Andy has to quickly hide her face in a file because Hydra will not like her laughing even if it’s more about how cute the scene is rather than making fun of him. Alex has their signature smile on as they try to deescalate.

“Harry is only seven. He’s not a full employee of H.E.R.A.”

Hydra’s eyes narrow on them slightly. “You have been on the payroll since you were ten, demigod. Try again.”

Alex… can’t argue with that. They were at their mother’s side through most of the founding of H.E.R.A. and they definitely were on record showing that (and how their mother got H.E.R.A. claimed as a “family business” they will never know)

And that’s how Harry becomes Hydra’s main contact before he hits double digits. He doesn’t mind. Hydra is cool and even if he mostly talks to his parents about burning things between their conversations about which ramen place is the best or a cool snake Harry talked to at the zoo that waved at him Harry doesn’t mind the boring grownup talk.

He also manages to stop several wrongful arrests when agents fall into the old habit of bringing Hydra in. And frankly nothing inspires loyalty quite like Hydra watching Harry cause every light on the first three floors of the building to explode because someone tried to cuff him. Alex and Andy were incredibly displeased with the agent both because that’s not how they run H.E.R.A. and because that’s a whole lot of lights to replace. Hydra is mostly distracted trying to calm the hissing and sobbing child clinging to him and making sure no glass got to Harry.

Even when he grows up and technically falls under Olympus’ influence Harry stays at H.E.R.A. and remains Hydra’s contact.

Modern Zhuzhi Lang goes on a date with Shen Yuan and forgets to take one of his pet snakes out of his pocket before he leaves and early on the date it pokes his head out of ZZL’s clothes and startles the shit out of Shen Yuan, and ZZL is crestfallen because most people don’t like snakes and he’s totally blown this before it even started which is a shame because he likes Shen Yuan so much, and he starts apologizing profusely and explaining why there’s a snake in his shirt and offering to just, like, leave so SY doesn’t have to tell him to go—

but Shen Yuan recovers quickly from the shock of seeing an unexpected Shirt Snake and once he hears that it’s a pet and it’s supposed to be there he’s leaning in and cooing “Hello! What’s your name??” and Zhuzhi Lang has to clamp his mouth shut mid-explanation so he doesn’t say anything embarrassing like “PLEASE MARRY ME”

#yeah there are lots of people out there who like snakes but Zhuzhi Lang has had an unfortunate proportion of bad experiences #esp since most people who are okay with snakes tend to react kind of neutrally to the fact that he has snakes #whereas people who don’t like snakes are often EW EW EW KILL IT WITH FIRE assholes to him #and ZZL just plain doesn’t get out very much #so he’s never met someone who has the same ‘OMG WHAT A CUTE WIDDLE BABY’ reaction to snakes that he does #but Shen Yuan LOOOOOOOVES SNAKES #idk what the snake’s name is. somebody else think of a snake name #what if all his snakes are named after kinds of noodles. he’s like this one is Soba. do you want to meet Ramen and Spaghetti #there’s one called Angel Hair but he always just calls her Angel
