Intrigued about a beginner's guide to being normal

this one has slowly become more and more of me projecting onto a character, yuniesky castellanos torres (aka conditional yuniesky). it deals with pretty heavy topics because i am really projecting so hard. honestly, if i write this, i may have to write a personal version & then a sanitized version the blb fandom will not find upsetting. ngl i am worried ppl are gonna think less of me for my yunie lore? i don't share the darker stuff, but ppl have liked the things i have shared! but also i have changed a lot of that lore! so idk lol

i'll use this summary as a litmus test, i suppose. warning for mentions of teen mental health treatment & gooning (if you don't recognize the term, you're probably fine) (unless that was a term only used at my rtc)

the story follows yunie from him joining blaseball up until all players were released. i have not written down that much, it mostly lives in my head. yuniesky runs away from a wilderness camp* in the moab desert and signs up as an employee in the city of moab. by the time staff find him, he legally belongs to blaseball and they can't do shit. he travels around to a few teams as a tech guy and meets conditional, the computer program, who has become incredibly unruly and uses its sentience to be a nuisance. and Yuniesky gets along with conditional. and since conditional is, like, a super important program that holds important information, yunie kinda just gets the job of being condi's caretaker. they become besties! yunie gets reborn as the shieve's s9 postseason birth and lives in their shadows (and works as their tech guy) for a long time. to avoid talking about where he came from & his past, yuniesky lies. and it's fine for the most part. nobody really talks to him. except for his grandma, who tracked him down like a fucking secret agent or some shit (haha. HAHAHAHA.) and is now doting on him, making sure he's ok, etc. his parents and siblings are too, but he's still pissed at them so he ignores them <3 being gooned** really broke his trust and now he struggles to be open in any capacity. so when his fellow teammates and shadow players ask about himself, he lies. and they keep building up. he gets worried that they'll find out, but luckily he is taken to seattle. crisis averted![citation needed]

yuniesky lands on the spies. he moves in with his grandma, which is really good for his mental health! but now she knows about his lying habit and wants him to stop. but there's two fucking shoe thieves on the spies so there's no way he's doing that shit. the problem? he can't remember what he lied about. he was 16 when he joined. he doesn't fucking remember! and even worse, they want to be friends. not just the former shieves, all of them. so yunie just. keeps lying. up until he gets closer with ivy, which was a TOTAL accident. ivy just needed to get out of a flash flood. then they needed homework help. then they decided he was their bestie/older brother. and ivy figures out that he's lying. and oh. oh it goes so badly. so bad. they have an argument at HQ (read: ivy yells at yunie about "betrayal" and "lying to your friends is bad" and yunie's like "you're not my friends lol. you're my coworkers. and we're spies"). yunie doesn't get why people are pissed. yunie thinks he is a good spy and the closest to normal he will ever be.

trigger warnings for the notes (basically an explanation of anything w an asterisk): residental treatment/troubled teen programs, ableism, mental & physical harm towards children with mental illness, kidnapping

*for those unaware: wilderness therapy camps are nomadic camps where kids are forced to walk a lot and it's supposed to be theraputic somehow. i'm not joking. you get landmarks you gotta be at, and if you're not there, you're punished. several kids have died in these programs because of neglect, because these camps run year-round in places like moab where it's hot as balls during the summer and colder than a witch's tit in winter. most of the camps are based in utah, supposedly because mormons have less strict rules on what counts as child abuse, but idk how true that is.

**i have no fucking clue what the actual term for gooning is. i can't find these companies anywhere. but in the rtc we called them goons. basically, a group of people are paid by a kid's parents (or sometimes the government) to come into their room in the middle of the night (usually 3 am), take the kid out of their bed, and force them into a vehicle and transport them to a treatment center. some kids don't learn that their parents paid for it until after they've arrived at the treatment center. gooning can leave victims with injuries and immense trauma.

Mascot 5th Anniversary Post

Howdy-hey! Figured I'd post something different today! Today [August 20th, 2023] is special because it's the 5th anniversary of my online mascot, OG! He's gone through a lot since his first design, so I drew up every major version of him!

V1 [August 20th, 2018]

The first ever design of OG! I remember designing him while in my bedroom at a residental treatment center I was staying at! I was rebranding after a traumatic experience and wanted a new mascot. I came up with "TheOGEscargoon" because of my Escargoon phase. :P

Strong resemblense with the source material; I can see him being the most vulgar/unfiltered of the bunch.

V2 [Sept 2018]

I expanded on the original design, but added more to it. One of the more memorable designs in my opinion. Honestly, I like his outfit here; mainly the shirt! Still closely resembles the inspiration, but he lost the shell.

V3 [Jan 2019]

First version to include the snail stocks and shoes for some reason. Wanted to play around with the type of clothes he would wear; not sure why I thought about Peppa Pig Gucci of all things. Bro seems cool, very chill and carefree.

V4 [May 2019]

The date of this redesign is a bit fuzzy, but this version is a personal favourite! Swapped the Escargoon-ish facial hair with a simple goatee. Another outfit I love, might make this an alternate outfit along with V2 and V3. This was also around the time I rebranded to "OpalGalactic"

V5 [Sept 2019]

The first human design of him. I knew right away I wanted to make him a cyborg, but IDK what I was thinking with the weird face plating. Moving away from the main inspiration at this point, my least favourite design tbh. Around 2020, I rebranded again to my current username "OnyxGalaria"

V6 [Jul 2020]

Didn't like the color pallete/outfit of V5, so I made things make sense in a way with the colors and outfit choices. Getting closer to the latest version, but he still had that weird face plating that messed with the mouth placement a lot and I avoided bright colors like the plague.

V7 [Nov 2021]

One of the longest gaps for redesigns, but this is a top favourite! I remember really liking this design a lot, especially being proud of his prosthetic arm! :D Stuck with this design for a long while.

V8 [Feb 2023]

For some reason, I wanted to do another redesign for him. I think I wanted to go for a VTuber vibe with this one. Part of me still likes this version, but at the same time, I'm not sure why I decided to use this design for a while.

V7.5/9 [June 2023, current]

The current design of OG. I decided to combine the aspects I liked from V7 and V8 to make a happy medium I call V7.5! I'll be keeping this design for a long while [hopefully]!

my love of limes has been life long. When i was a child, my pediatrician had to tell my parents to stop letting me eat lemons and limes because they were damaging my teeth. I have always had a proclivity for limes.

I have been struggling with mental health since I can remember, a coalescence of genetics, home life, and various other things mean that I have spent much of my life being dispirited. Limes have been one of several things during this time that have brought me comfort, even in the depths of depression. I thought of limes. When i wanted for nothing, i still could think of limes and feel something.

When i spent almost two months in psychiatric residential treatment (insurance ended my treatment early), my love of limes was rekindled. I was in residental because my stress was driving me to the brink of the fragmenting of my psyche. I have always felt that if I were to stop putting in the effort, my mind would simply drive me into a state that many would describe as insanity.

During my stay, I began to have the thing that became known as 'lime time'. At 3pm snack each day, I was permitted to eat a whole lime. The peels of these limes were unfortunately very thin and dry, making the experience of eating the whole lime as I prefer (in a style similar to how one might eat an apple) quite difficult. The lime time was still very enjoyable, however.

I will bring this post to a close, as i fear that it is too long already. Thank you to any reader that this may have garnered.

         Point of my tangent, and I’ve kept my silence this whole time, I’ve sat quietly when my name was being dragged through the mud. "After having struggled with disordered behavior for years. I had anorexia as a teen and then struggled with binging before the assult. After the assault i struggled with restricting as a way to disappear. I barely made it through my senior year of college but someone made it. I went to residental the day after my college graduation and went right back into using behaviors when I got out. eventually dropped out grad school and had to quit my first full-time job. After going back to residential and completing treatment I did good. I traveled and moved. Restarted graduate school got a new job as a mental health associate in inpatient psych. I just secured my internship for my masters program to be a therapist. I've learned to eat what I want when I want because my body knows what to do with it. My weight does not define my worth. Trying to change my body disrupts my happiness and goals. What happened to me has nothing to do with my body. Every body is different. Mine has protected surviving cancer to multiple sexual assaults and down to my own abuse it self. Its always healing and it deserves to get what it wants and needs to keep going. Its bounced back full force no complications from events that doctors told me it wouldn't. I thought it was ugly but now I think its strong and beautiful. I still struggle and its not all sunshine roses but thats okay because I still eat.

So I'm currently in recovery for an eating disorder. My most recent diagnosis is anorexia. I've been diagnosed with bulimia as well. The last two years were a real struggle. After being sexually assaulted I dove into my eating disorder.

Weight has no correlation with worth. And before and after pictures I think reinforce that weight means something"

But sending you to those residental programme with very intense treatments would fix the problem long term. if you're awful to him enough you might even get to go to wilderness therapy - live outdoors in the nature with supervision, no mobile devices and might even get to shovel actual horse shit. like i lived in a residental treatment place for a lot of my adolescent youth and it really took away a decent part of my teenage years (like. between 14 to basically 16) and it's filled with a lot of undercover abuse lowkey. my experience though made me grateful for a lot of reasons--i became educated on things i wouldve. never been able to (like not just mental health wise, i learned a lot about just about life and understood the privileges i have a lot more in regards to being white or ablebodied or things like that) and made me appericate Not Being Cooped Up,,, but it's really such a dehumanizing experience in a lot of ways too if you go to the wrong place

and im sorry you went through that! it's super shitty and also i hope you were able to get some positive out of it
