do you have any headcanons about daeron ii's and myriah's daughter-in-laws?

Oh boy DO I!!!!! I’m gonna organize them in lil bullet point forms cause I have so many thoughts abt them!

Jena:

- Honestly I think it might be a bit weird to say but I think she was the westerosi equivalent of a goth skater girl. Like, there’s probably some old painting of her in Blackhaven as a teenager where she has dyed black streaks in her hair and way too much eyeshadow with a medieval skateboard (horse). I need this to be true in my life

- Her betrothal to Baelor I imagine was to ease up relations with the marcher lords since they probably weren’t too happy about the Dornish having a strong influence on the throne. I wouldn’t be surprised if Myriah suggested the match, and they happened to pick Jena because she was the closest to Baelor’s age

- That being said though, their match went pretty well! I mean for a while it was pretty obvious that Jena and Baelor were basically a pr relationship but over time they did come to care for each other! They didn’t really have the slow burn romance that Daeron and Myriah had but they still had some kind of affection

- She did have her kids pretty young, but not really early in the marriage because I have to believe her weird late teens goth angst was why she named her kids Valarr and Matarys of all things or it might kill me

- If I could give her a friendship with any of her sisters in laws it would probably be Aelinor? But they weren’t like friends friends, they were just able to get along pretty well because they grew up in the same region even though their interests are wayyyy different from one another

- Ngl she probably had some crazyyy beef with Dyanna. Like, those ladies could not sit next to each other at the family function cause it either ended with them fighting (mostly about who’s kids are the worst),or them ganging up to bully another noble while absolutely hammered on some of that dornish red

- Also it needs to be said, Jena was probably absolutely a stunt queen when she had to grow out of her goth phase. Like, she went to the Alyssa T school of Being a Bad Bitch because she probably went riding and sailing with her kids all the time while they were still babies. If Baelor had a dragon she’d be bullying him to take her flying literally every day and get it to shit on the roofs of people she doesn’t like. Myriah’s mentality was “Oh I’m gonna be queen so I have to be careful about what I do” while hers was “Whoah I’m gonna be queen I can do (almost) whatever the hell I want!!”

- Unfortunately tho, it’s highly likely she died with her kids during the great Spring Sickness, but to add tragedy for flavour I think she died after both her sons. Rip queen :(

Aelinor:

- Okay so figuring out the whole timeline/relation with her kinda drove me insane, but my theory for the time being is that she’s Elaena’s stepdaughter through Ronnel, which does make her technically cousins with Aerys through marriage? I think she’s still probably a few years younger than him tho

- I also kinda think Elaena’s behind this betrothal a bit tbh- I think Aelinor really liked Elaena but saw her a lot more as a mentor she aspired to be like rather than any kind of surrogate mother figure

- Personality-wise girlie’s a completeee introvert. Like, I think she wants to be social and charming and all that, but she got that social anxiety that makes it so she’s scared to talk to people and spends most of her day inside reading

- For her hobbies….. I can see her being big into reading and research but idk I also really like the idea of her being big into poems, she likes really analyzing people from a distance and writing lil blurbs about them to spend the time. She’d literally rather die than share any of her works with anyone though, even if it’s really flattering to them lol

- So, I think her social circle’s kindaaa limited to the royal family, I think her best friends would be Aerys, Alys and Shiera cause I think that’d be kinda fun (and also I think she had a bit of a thing for Alys cause….. yuh) :)

- She and Aerys probably slept together like, once on their wedding cause they were completely convinced they would only have to do it one time…. They both regretted it

- And ngl despite the Horrors™️, and the whole of house Targaryen dropping like flies I think she was a lilll glad that Aelora was heir? Not because everyone else before her died, mostly due to the fact that she really liked Aelora specifically and maybe liked to pretend she was her daughter whoops

- Anyways my fun lil tragedy for her is that she outlives pretty much everyone she loves <3 she’d still be kicking during Maekar’s reign as a sorta dowager queen but she’s not doing much with that title, I diagnose her with…… death via heart attack while trying to write her will

Alys:

- Honestly this lady reads as a complete social butterfly to me lmao. Like, really bubbly, charismatic, and likeable as a person- I think she came in as a companion for Daenerys and both Daeron and Myriah decided to set her up with Rhaegel just cause she was really kind (and being from a major house definitely didn’t hurt either)

- For hobbies I can absolutely see her as a lady that was just crazy for birds lol- and that’s an interest I could see her bonding with Daeron over! She loves hawking and keeping some pet songbirds and feeding ravens, ngl I could see her and Aelinor working on a giant bird encyclopedia together lol

- When it comes to her and Rhaegel, I don’t think it was really love at first sight? Like, I think they got along and did eventually bond after the twins were born, but they only fell in love a few years into their marriage

- Speaking of the twins though! I really don’t think she was cool with the idea of them marrying, honestly it kinda horrified her but she saw how weirdly close they became and tried to cope by justifying that they’d be better together than apart with other people cause…. Tbh how the hell else can she get over the fact that her own children are marrying when that hasn’t really been the norm for a bit-

- Oh and she was especially nottt at all happy about Daenora marrying Aerion. Since by then I can imagine she’s lost both her husband and oldest children, she would be f u r i o u s that Maekar would even allow her last daughter to marry his craziest son, even if he wasn’t the one who suggested the match in the first place

- Girlie probably didn’t stay after Aerion died, like- she was quick to pack Daenora and Maegor and haul ass back to the Vale. No she didn’t give a flying fuck that they were considering her grandson as heir, they’re living in the Eeryie forever now!

- She did miss Aelinor after she left though (clueless about Aelinor’s kinda gay feelings rip) so the two probably shared a lot of letters, but I think Alys passed not too long after being back in the Vale from….. honestly imma say slipping on a toy and cracking her head open. At least one of these gals gotta have a sorta silly death

Dyanna:

- Ngl she’s probably second to Alys in being one of the sweetest in the group, but she takes NO bullshit from anyone. As stated before, she’s ready to throw down with Jena at the drop of a hat but tries not to start too many fights

- She and Maekar married out of love. To me!!! Like, idk they don’t seem like a politically advantageous match, so in my brain Dyanna was probably the daughter of one of Myriah’s ladies in waiting and the two ended up falling in love as teens cause idkkkkkk that’s kinda cute <3

- As for hobbies: absolutely cracked at weaving. 85% of the decorations at Summerhall are her tapestries and the other 15% are crafts by other artists that she really liked. She probably weaved most of her childrens’ baby clothes herself and regularly gifts handmade crafts to her family and friends

- Idk if she really had a favourite with any of her kids, but I can kinda say for certain that she definitely had a hard time with Aerion because she felt like she needed to be overly strict with him specifically which….. probably maybe perhaps gave Aerion some mommy issues idkkkkkkkk

- I like to think she had a cat at some point too, and when it had kittens she gifted them to each of her kids but they mostly became general household cats over time (except for Egg’s cat, that was his own and it…. Found itself at the bottom of the well whoops-)

- Canonically she died first out of the gang, and the narrative implies that she died giving birth to Rhae but I’m ignoring it because one fic I read a while ago had her die from breast cancer and honestly while it’s still tragic it also makes it so Dyanna’s not reduced to “woman who died in childbirth #67” which gets some originality points from me

Titans Kory: I have loved 🥰 titans kory since the first time I saw her in the first season of titans and I love ❤️ how she is a badass queen and the co leader of the titans and the mother of the kids , gar, Rachel, mar’i etc and how sassy and kind and intelligent she is and her enemies to lovers relationship with dick is absolute fire 🔥. I also loved 🥰 how optimistic she is and her no nonsense personality and sense of humor .

Annabeth chase Percy Jackson fandom: I have love ❤️ annabeth a lot since I have read all of the Percy Jackson books 📚 and watched the movies 🍿 and I loved 🥰 her enemies to lovers relationship with Percy and the nicknames they have for each other, seaweed brain 🧠, wise girl , etc and I love ❤️ how she uses her intelligence as a weapon against her enemies and that she doesn’t take any bs from anyone and has a disability too.

Percy Jackson, percy Jackson fandom: I loved 🥰 Percy Jackson since I was a kid 👧 and I loved 🥰 how a demigod with a disability as I’m autistic and I enjoyed how relatable Percy was to me and his relationship with annabeth is one ☝️ of my favorite 🤩 ships and I loved 🥰 how he is able to fight gods and monsters 👹 and his witty sarcastic sense of humor.

X men evolution storm ⛈️: storm is my favorite 🤩 x men evolution character and Ororo Monroe is so cool 😎 and I loved 🥰 her relationship with Jean grey and the x men and how she sees them as her kids and her romantic relationship with wolverine is adorable 🥰 and how elegant and beautiful and sensitive she is and that she is strong 💪 in her personality and how she helps her nephew Evan with his mutant abilities.

X men evolution rogue : rogue is one ☝️ of my favorite 🤩 x men characters next to storm ⛈️ and I love ❤️ her sisterly relationship with kitty and jean and Kurt and Scott and Evan and how she is an amazing 🤩 person who can use her powers to take down mystique and other villains 🦹‍♀️ and how comfortable she is with being a mutant and her romance 🥰 with gambit is adorable 🥰 and she has a good 👍, sweet and down to earth 🌍 personality.

Wolverine and the x men Emma frost : Emma frost is phenomenal and that she has two mutant powers and I loved 🥰 her relationship with the x men and how they went from reluctant Allies to friends and that she is a powerful telepath and how she cares for Scott and the x men and she is strict but kind and that she owns her own company and created her own version of a school 🏫 for mutants .

X men evolution Jean grey : Jean grey is another of my favorite characters from x men evolution and I loved 🥰 how she considered the x men her family and her bonds with Scott, Ororo and the rest of the x men and I Also loved 🥰 seeing Jean and the x men girls forming their own group, the bayville sirens 🚨 and how she is an intelligent and loving 🥰 person.

Glimmer she -ra and the princesses of power: glimmer is one of my favorite 🤩 characters and I loved 🥰 her relationship with bow and adora and their friendship squad is peak friendship goals and how she is a flawed and relatable character who is the literal sunshine ☀️ of the group and how she cares for everyone and is willing to give others a second chance and her character development throughout the show.

STARCLAN’S LAST RESORT AU NOTES #1

Been meaning to update with some ideas on this AU but have really been struggling art wise, so here are some random world/character building thoughts and ideas I have currently.

The story takes place in the old forest after deforestation, and the entire surrounding area is sort of post apocalyptic/ barren and almost purgatory like, though as to why this is and how the sudden destruction of the clans happened is still under construction.

THUNDERCLAN

I’ve already decided the first “main” group that gets revived in Thunderclan are Scourge, Princess, Smudge, Swiftpaw, Shrewpaw, Snowkit, Mosskit, Elderkit, Tulipkit, Juniperkit, and Dandelionkit. All of them were chosen based on unfair deaths and each cat’s connection to Firestar or Tigerclaw/star in some way.

Other returning Thunderclan members currently under consideration are: Thrushpelt, Frecklewish, Birchface, Speckletail, Snowfur, Bluestar’s parents, Swiftpaw and Snowkit’s siblings, Mapleshade’s kits, Honeyfern, and possibly Briarlight.

ABSOLUTELY returning next would be: Pinestar, Leopardfoot and her kits, and Goosefeather, which I feel could add a lot of drama and unique interactions based on unresolved feelings from the earlier events of the books.

A possible change would be changing some parents of characters to prevent inbreeding or odd story choices (ie Darkstripe being the father of Brindleface’s kits), though I fully intend to properly address the extremely uncomfortable abuse/manipulation in relationships and large age gaps that are brushed over in canon, as well as bringing up some character traits that are often overlooked or ignored in said canon as well.

One of the main ones I’ve discovered is Stormtail, Bluestar’s father, who’s alarming behavior has been mostly overlooked. Including his age gap relationship with Moonflower, his bullying and pretty much implied attempted murder on Goosefeather, the neglect of his kits till they live up to his expectations, and of course, his implied affair with Dappletail, which also concerns an age gap. I hope to expand on these details with lesser looked at characters like this some time in the events of the AU

Finally for Thunderclan, Scourge would receive a leader role but would not have nine lives, and would possibly mentor Swiftpaw or Snowkit. I’m also considering Snowkit becoming a medicine cat, but not as a way to push him in there because of his deafness. Since the clans have been destroyed and rebuilt with these revived cats, I feel some warrior code would change, idk if Scourge would really want to keep everything exactly the same if he’s now in control of clan life. Snowkit would be a sort of battle medic, doing both warrior and med cat duties equally. Swiftpaw and Shrewpaw would gain a friendship, along with Snowkit and Mosskit! Snowkit would also support Goosefeather in many ways.

Pinestar would return but still be extremely distant and attempt to live as a loner in the new barren world, though he would definitely keep being pulled back into clan life and his inescapable actions. Also learning about his revived kits, his grandson, and his great grandchildren (Dandelion & Juniper), would probably affect him in some way. Him and Leopardfoot are divorced (yippee!!! 🎉🎉) but still struggle with having to work together to keep the future of the clan safe.

As for the other clans!! I don’t have a ton but here’s what’s gonna possibly happen there.

RIVERCLAN

Do you remember Whiteclaw?? No?? He was Leopardstar’s apprentice who fell over the gorge. He apparently also had a crush on Silverstream before his death. I feel him and Thrushpelt could relate to have one sided crushes on girls who end up not being at all interested in them and having a romance with the neighboring clan cats instead. (Solidarity) Willowbreeze would return with her kits as well as Brightsky and her kits (Leopardstar’s mom)

SHADOWCLAN

There is some Lord Of The Flies stuff probably happening in Shadowclan, so many apprentices and kits died there from Brokenstar’s reign among other things, daycare has gotten out of control.

WINDCLAN

Also a lot of dead apprentices in Windclan! I thought there would be a similar scenario, except Antpelt comes back and has to babysit all of them. Also possibly maybe Darktail’s unnamed newborn siblings join???

Seeing as how you claim Stephen to be your favorite blorbo, I’m willing to bet you have a lot in common with him. Probably the oldest sibling. It’s hard for you to make relationships (platonic/familial… any relationships) but once you do, you’re incredibly loyal to them. Very protective of them. You stick to your morals and beliefs, so basically being stubborn. You probably went to college right after graduating high school, but instead of something science related you went with art. You’re detail oriented for sure, anyone can just glance over one of your fics and see how much research goes into it. You’ve said in your Wong fic that you’ve worked in customer service. As someone who also works in customer service, there’s a certain type of patience that kind of job requires. You’re on the west coast, I’m pretty sure.

You like photography. You’re interested in different cultures and like to travel a lot (possibly for your job?) You’ll try just about any food, especially in other countries. (I know from an ask post you tagged me in that you don’t like spicy food, though). Despite liking movies/shows, you’re not the type to watch something simply because there’s a lot of hype around it. Your preferences in whump suggest you’re the type to help people who genuinely need it, but will stop if they’re aren’t even attempting to take care of things themselves. This is me going out on a limb here, but I’m thinking that perhaps your parents aren’t that affectionate, either with each other or with you? That tends to be common in people who like angst and either heavily like/dislike romance.

Also you’re in your mid/late 30s, so ;) is preferred to 😉

Eldest sibling: Yes. Eldest of 4. We thankfully all get along wonderfully. Don't get to hang out much together because both of my brothers' jobs are very demanding/have holiday work at times - and of course I'm missing Easter this year xD

Relationships: Not really. Very close to my family, always have been. Have the best parents in the world. (Totally missed the mark on my parents haha, I tell folks in Discord pretty often that I'd lend my parents out as foster-parents were it possible). I have to *stop* my parents, especially my mum, from over-hyping me to people xD I can't have my mum read any of my works because she'd tell *everyone* about this wonderful story I wrote and I absolutely do not want the neighbors to know I write fanfic. And she legit can't help herself. As for my dad, he's spent the last 2 weekends with me helping me fix things around the house and helping me clean my garage of my neighbor's crap, and we can talk about almost anything (the only thing he refuses to talk about is anything regarding sex which is pretty hilarious because he gets all blustery if I casually mention something around it and he changes the subject). He's a great dad. Very lucky to have them both.

Friend-wise, it was harder in my youth for sure, but I have always been tenacious and managed. These days it's easy to create them on a superficial, acquaintance level - it's harder to be more in depth due to lack of energy or time. My greatest in depth friendships in my adulthood have all stemmed from online interactions because it can be hard to find nerds in the wild. I'm not a huge fan of superficial small talk that is prevalent with many adults "in the wild" (gossip about kids, neighbors, and the gym in my experience) so finding people that are just *interesting* to talk to is the big key. I know a lot of stuff about a lot of topics and finding conversation partners that have the same breadth is challenging. My coworkers are more interesting- but they're all over the US xD So yeah if everyone was just in the same area that'd make it so much easier.

Morals: I don't think sticking to your morality is a bad thing as the word stubborn implies 😜 flexible morality can lead bad places. I do stick to my guns though. Always up for a philosophical debate about moral conundrums but I call something out if I think it's just wrong - or I certainly try. I haven't been in a situation where doing so would put my life in danger so I'm not sure what I'd do there. I hope the right thing.

College: I'm an art major. Don't regret it.

Work: My customer service stint was blessedly only for a few months; they were trying to train me for the (slow) manager track and I noped out as soon as I could xD. Most of my work in HS and college was as a tutor, which was significantly more rewarding.

Area: Greater LA! Born and raised. 5th generation on my dad's mom's side too (Potato famine refugee), which is stupid rare here.

Travel: I wish I could travel for my job. But with working remote I may be able to make something out of it in a couple years. I think they may be up for it; it's a young company run by millennials which makes the difference. All the travel I've done in my 20s was through making connections with others in my youth and getting invited to stay places, and then teaching English abroad between jobs 5 years ago. And after that I finally started earning an actual decent income which meant I could save up for trips (like this!). That said I also had the support of my parents which helped make it possible (they didn't pay for the trips except one ticket in my early 20s, but I could fall back on them if I needed to which made a big difference).

Self care: Hit the nail on the head. I am the type of supporter to give links to resources in a person's area that is within their income (even in the US there's a lot of free resources, just takes a bit of digging). If someone decides not to help themselves to get out of the bad spot they're in by pursuing these resources, I withdraw. I can only be emotionally invested if people are actually trying - going to free counseling, going to work agencies, etc. No one that I know of here on tumblr is *not* helping themselves by pursuing resources to the best of their ability, so this applies to no one here. But I have had friends in the past that were unable to push past their mental barrier and I eventually ran out of emotional energy to give them. This likely comes from my mom who worked herself up from abject poverty, and my own struggles in my youth where there was a lot of struggle and pushing because my brain is a wee bit different. So I expect folks to try and make the calls and work through the problems. It's okay if it takes years - but you gotta try and keep pursuing and can't give up no matter how hard the going gets. (Note: this is presuming you're physically capable and have enough mental sound-of-mindness for executive decision making, which I do think is still like 99% of the population). I *strongly* recommend a support outlet if you don't have one - online or in person. There's a ton of communities on reddit for folks in tough situations that can help, to start. (Also note that it's very different on what you can do depending on where you are in the world, and that I'm very aware of.)

I find that a lot of people who like angst just like the genre due to finding characters overcoming their struggles very interesting. I don't think parental affection has anything to do with it personally, as I've met many people who adore romance who have absolutely awful parents. As for romance itself, I think my biggest issue is its oversaturation in media and how romance is emphasized to be more important than close platonic (found family) relationships. This happens in fanfic too and it's just annoying. I was significantly less annoyed with it in the LOTR fandom back in the day when they were even - so yeah, it's 100% about the saturation and lack of balance.

(Also romance is a legit boring genre outside of comedies, haha)

💀 has your oc ever lost anyone to death? multiple people? people close to them? how does the loss make them feel?

carxes lost his mom when he was a wee babe, he wasn't really close with her on account of. being. a baby. <3. he mostly feels sorry (i thiiink that's the right word for it?) because of the impact it had on his dad

💗 relationships? who are their friends, their family relations, lover(s), foes? what sort of personalities really tick them off and what others do they like? is there anything that’d ruin a friendship for them?

ru'en has a bunch of friends but he's not especially close with them because. the one-sided 5d mind chess. because as everyone knows if someone cares about you they must have some ulterior motive /s. he was never very close with his extended family and his parents. Uh. they're not on speaking terms any more <3 they're not as close to their sisters as they used to be or as much as they want to be but. it's better than nothing <3 any enemies he had he. ended up killing. hate wins <3 romance-wise he's had a bunch of casual flings but their longest and most significant romantic relationship was with the red prince. <3

while i'm at it: the relationship timeline with the red prince is essentially: Hm! That guy's Weird! (merryweather) => that guy's Weird but he's a good fighter and maybe he's not so bad. maybe. on second thoughts maybe not. but then- (fort joy) => not officially together but they keep having gay sex and caring about each other (driftwood) => de facto lovers with neither of them willing to address the elephant in the room (sadha) (nameless isle and arx) => Good Lord We Cannot Keep Doing This You Literally Have A Wife And Children (post-game) => not officially broken up but it's basically Over (a few years post-game)

the kinds of people he dislikes are. Hm. this sounds bad but. they don't really like people they can't control. AKDHJKHFJKHKJ in most social situations he usually has a good idea of what makes that person tick, how to act to give off the impression that will get them what they want, et cetera (this is partly because of their clairvoyance and partly because of the one-sided 5d mind chess. it's mostly the clairvoyance <3), so when someone comes along that blindsides them that's. Not a great experience for them. top ten normal thought processes. <3 similarly they don't like manipulative people. pot and kettle and all that. he likes people that he's familiar with because there's that aspect of predictability. they also like people who are nice to him even if there are ulterior motives to it let a girl dream <3

a big deal breaker in any relationship with them would be any kind of betrayal or deception or manipulation. <3

⚡ what are your oc’s phobias? is there any reasoning behind these? how do they calm themselves down after getting scared? what are they like when they’re afraid? is there any chance of them overcoming their fears?

ummmmmmmm there's the above point about regarding people they can't control. also being restrained because the whole sourcerer persecution thing. also magisters because acab <3

when he's scared he usually tries to put up a front, often his usual brand of cheerful naivete. failing that they'll try to downplay it or hide it with anger <3 they usually try to calm themself down by distracting themself it. don't really think he'll get over these any time soon. Um. sorry :pensive:

eskandar has a fair bit of rumours surrounding them because like. new creepy guy who asks some very specific questions while refusing to answer any and wears a mask all the time. there's bound to be some rumours surrounding them. they're mostly pretty nasty. <3

Reading fiction enhances our understanding of human nature?

(refering to the novels read by the author)

“Books are the window to the world.” A very well-known quote that many would agree on I believe. Be it fiction or nonfiction, reading will somehow benefit us in different aspects of life including, understanding human nature. Many would understand that reading psychological related or research-based books will be best to understand human behaviour. Others argue that fiction books could play the same role, though it could be ”wrapped” in a unique style and perspective. Each person will have their own say on this, my stance would be the reading of fiction will indeed enhance the understanding of human nature.

First and foremost, regardless of the genre, humanity is displayed in most fiction books, be it in a good or bad way, and it will allow readers to comprehend more on human’s attitude by relating it to the characters. Family, slice of life, romance, friendships, all these are common themes in fiction that may explicitly or implicitly portray human’s attitude. To exemplify this, the Indonesian novel, Hello Cello tells how the character Cello could change from a so called ‘bad boy’ to a person who is loyal to his partner. The book points out that as long as it starts from ourselves and with great dedication and commitment, then we too can change. This piece of advice is applicable to our real-life situations. Our parents would probably give a similar piece of advice when we are asking “how can we further develop ourselves permanently?”. Another point, Cello manages to convince Helga that she is pretty the way she is and there is no need for others to validate her beauty. In this modern era, many of us would want validation from others in order to acknowledge our worth. Oftentimes we forget that this life belongs to us and it is us who work hard for it, hence no one knows exactly a hundred percent the amount of effort we put in. So, why should we listen to their opinions that induce negative emotions in us? They do not have a say on us. The character Cello is like a gentle reminder which reminds us that there are people who appreciate us but some others will never. Thus, we should think wisely on who we should spend our energy with. It is evident that by these examples readers could further understand human’s attitude due to the humanity aspect taking part in the fiction books.

Furthermore, reading fiction could allow for new perspectives and illustrations of situations that readers may never get the chance yet to explore and experience. Those who have been living for 17 years will have far less experiences than those of 30 years. They usually have less encounters with different types of person and by reading fiction it could reasonably give new perspective to them. For instance, the all time favourite, Harry Potter. Since the first book untuk the fifth book many readers have possibly developed hatred towards the antagonist, Draco Malfoy. Him being the well-known bully, part of the arrogant Slytherin house and ridiculous Death Eater are few reasons why readers despise him a lot. Later on, in the sixth and seventh books it will be revealed that Draco is actually forced to do all those by his parents who are the loyal servants of Voldemort. Many readers start to emphasise on Draco because he did not really have any choice as a kid, except to follow his parents instructions. By referring to human nature, it opens a new perspective that sometimes the environment that we grow up in forcefully shapes our nature. Maybe if we grew up in a better environment then we will have better self-control or attitudes. For us to understand such a deep thing and relate it with the real world is like a room to be more tolerant and understanding with each other. Hence, even by reading fiction, we will be able to broaden our knowledge on how human nature could be formed in ways we may have not thought of.

On the other hand, most fiction is illustration based and it is too extreme to relate it with our real world. To illustrate, often in some romance fiction the guy is portrayed as the flawless, all-rounder, perfect boyfriend that any girl would want to date with. When we try to look at the nature of the boyfriend, which is not realistic at all, we tend to hope that we will end up with a person like him, the character Hilmy from Hilmy Milan for example. We forgot that this character is fictional and he does not exist in real life. This kind of too-perfect situation will not really enhance any understanding of human nature, instead it will make us “hallucinate” on such non-existent things. Therefore, it is important to notice that not all things that happen in a fictional story are directly related to real life. Sometimes it needs to be “processed” first before we could relate it to our real life.

To conclude, despite fiction being too perfect as it is mostly illustration based, there are actually some proper reasonings as to how it could enhance our understanding of human nature. The humanity aspect alongside with the new perspectives that fiction offers will always be relatable to the readers to a certain extend. It may be different for all but it sure will serve the same purpose of broadening the knowledge of human nature.

Today has been a hectic day so far. First started off with a few minute-men,Mobius and Loki alongside you going to Alabama 2050 to try to catch the variant in an apocalypse but went downhill when you got enchanted by the variant and then got passed out. The only thing you can remember was being picked up bridal style and carried through a portal going to the TVA. Once Loki followed the variant and ended up in the TVA he gently woke you up telling you to follow him. Loki grabbed his daggers from the locker hunter b-15 stored.

Following Loki through the halls of the TVA, minute-men on the ground passed out, or they looked passed out. When you caught up with the variant, Loki and her started to fight. Loki got thrown, you tried to stop her before she killed him. Throwing a few punches here and there, and dodging a few you wrapped your legs around her neck and flipped her to the ground were you grabbed Loki’s dagger and brought it to her throat leaving her defenseless. out of breath you opened your mouth to say something but was interrupted by Ravonna and two minute men on both of her sides with those look alike glow sticks. While you looked up at Ravonna, the variant got a hold of the dagger and flipped you on the group about to stab you but Loki came up from behind her and got the TemPad and opened another portal underneath all of you and fell through.

You ended up on a moon called Lamentis-1 2077 where a planet was going to destroy everything and everyone. The TemPad is dead and needs to be charged but in order to charge it, it needs to have a lot of energy. You found out the variant is now named Sylvie or wants to be called that. You still didn’t trust her since she tried to kill you multiple times but yet again you fell in love with a man just like that. You found out that there is an ark where people are getting on in order to escape this coming disaster. You will have to take a train to get there.

Loki disguised himself to look like one of the men guards and took you and Sylvie as “hostages” to Shuroo by orders. One of the men in charge of looking at tickets wasn’t buying all of that and just as your cover was about to be blown, Sylvie touched his arm and enchanted him so you could board the train. And that’s how you ended up here, on the train going to the ark to charge the TemPad to get back to the TVA.

The doors slowly opened, and stepping inside the train there were people that you could tell were high class. The walls were green and there was a small bar in the middle and all around the room were tables with booths. “Good evening, passengers. Hi.” Loki said to everyone while still holding you and Sylvie by the arms. Sylvie sits down in a booth, and you follow by sitting on the opposite side of her.

“Um-“ Loki starts hesitantly, “Uh look, I can't go backwards on a train.” You snickered at that trying to cover it with a cough. Loki looks at you glaring but with a small smile rolling his eyes before Sylvie starts to talk.

“Well, I never sit with my back to the door.” She says, turning her head away.

You scoff, “what? there are doors on both sides.” Loki said, looking around.

“Oh, just sit down.” you told Loki, grabbing his arm and yanking him to your side.

There was little silence before Sylvie spoke up. “FYI that wasn’t even a plan.”

“Oh really?” replied Loki. “plans have multiple steps, dressing as a guard and getting on a train is just doing a thing.” said Sylvie with a scoff.

Loki shifts his jaw, and about to open his mouth but is interrupted by you.

“Oh, are you a bit tired? feel free to, you know, get some rest.” you tell Sylvie after you see her yawning.

She glared at you before grunting and rolling her eyes. “I can't sleep in a place like this.”

“You can’t sleep on a train.?'' Loki asks. “No, I can’t sleep around untrustworthy people.” she replies leaning over the table staring Loki right in the eye. “Oh right, is that me?” “You feel free to take a nap.” “No you can.” “I already told you I can't.” “Right because untrustworthy people.” you had enough of their bickering.

“Shut it!” you whispered and shouted at the pair. they both stopped and looked at you. ”Just shut it.” you tell them again before leaning back and taking a deep breath.

Sylvie looks out the window while Loki keeps staring at you. “What?” he doesn’t respond, he just keeps looking at you. “Why are you staring at me like that?” you ask. He just smiles and taps his shoulder, motioning for you to lay your head on him. You comply and lay your head on his shoulder while he grabs one of your hands and holds it under the table before he kisses your head.

Seconds later you fall into a deep slumber. Loki looks down at you with a loving smile thinking how lucky he is to have you even if your relationship isn’t a romantic one. He tore his gaze from you to Sylvie, “So, where’d you learn to do the..” Loki motioning his hands while he speaks. “You know, the… whatever i-“ “I taught myself” Sylvie interrupted Loki, knowing what he’s asking.

Loki's eyes went wide. “You taught yourself?” he asked in disbelief.

“Yeah I did.”Sylvie replied, shaking her head.

“Do you just go into their minds and project some sort of illusion?”

“It’ll be easier if i just-“ bringing her hands to Loki’s head.

“Enchant me and take the TemPad and lead me out of the train? No thank you.” Loki tells her slapping her hands away but being careful so he doesn’t wake you.

“Well then don’t ask.” Sylvie leans back with an emotionless expression.

“You almost woke up y/n by the way.” Loki informs her, looking down at you sleeping still.

“Did not.” “Did to” “Did not” “Did to” “Not” “To” “Not” “T-“ they were interrupted by you stirring a little bit while still asleep. Loki let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding before getting the last word in. “Did to.”

A lady comes by the table a few seconds later asking if anyone wants champagne. “Champagne?”

“Ah yes, thank you very much.” Loki says to the lady without hesitation.

The lady moves over to Sylvie where she replies with a dull answer, “No i’m good thanks” with no emotion.

“Oh i’ll take hers, thank you” Loki grabs the other glass of champagne and with that the lady walks away. Sylvie looks at Loki with a raised eyebrow, questioning him.

“For y/n when they wake up” Loki says knowing what Sylvie was asking about.

“Cheers,” Loki says, clinking the two glasses together, “To the end of the world.” Loki takes a sip.

“I pity the old woman who chose to die, don’t you think?”

“She was in love.”

“Mmm-, she hated him”

“Maybe love is hate” Sylvie replies back smirking.

Loki conjures a quill and paper. “What was that? ‘love is… love is hate.’”

“Oh, piss off!”

Loki makes the items disappear before going back to the subject of love while pouring your glass of champagne to his.

“Is there a lucky beau waiting for you at the end of this crusade?” Loki asks while raising the glass to his lips.

“Yeah there is actually.” She responds easily.

“Oh,” Loki takes a sip.

“Managed to maintain a quite a serious long-distance relationship with a postman while running across time from one apocalypse to the another.” Sylvie says sarcastically.

Loki chuckles lightly, “Witch charm like that who could resist you?” Loki jokes.

Sylvie smiles a little looking down before looking up at Loki, “How about you? wait, don't answer that you have y/n.”

Loki's eyes went wide,“What? I-I dont- me and y/n we aren’t together.” Loki is a stuttering mess.

“You aren’t? Really? I don't buy that.” Sylvie says slightly surprised. “Y’all are practically in love with each other, I keep catching you staring at them and vice versa. Y’all have the love look in your guys eyes when one looks at the other, quite frankly it’s sickening.” Sylvie says, gagging a little but smiling.

Loki turns red after he hears that. Has he really been that obvious of his staring problem? Has he really been that oblivious to not notice you staring at him? Do you know he stares at you? Do you feel the same as him? No you couldn’t possibly feel the same- could you?

Loki's brain was hurting from overthinking and asking himself over and over again if there is a chance you could feel the same as he does for you. Loki takes a deep breath before looking at you then back up at sylvie.

“Why don’t you tell them?” Sylvie asks before he has a chance to speak.

Loki thinks for a moment, remembering something he read that stuck with him, “‘Friendship Or Love... It's really hard to choose, though sometimes friendship ends in love. If romance ends, it's hard to return to friendship.’ but also ‘Over thinking ruins you, ruins the situation, twists things around and just makes everything much worse than what it actually is’ do you know the two people who said that?”

Sylvie shakes her head no. “Two wise unknown people said that. Not knowing that their words would relate to almost everyone who is in love with their best friend but doesn’t want to ruin the friendship if something happens.” Loki is rubbing his thumb on your hand looking down at your sleeping figure. “To answer your question ‘why don’t I tell them?’ it’s because I overthink and because I don’t want to ruin something so great just because I want something more. I would rather stay friends forever than get into a relationship not knowing if it will last forever.” Loki says honestly.

Sylvie doesn’t say anything for a few seconds and just looks between you and Loki. “That's with every relationship.” Loki looks up, encouraging her to continue. “Whether it's friendship or a romantic relationship you don’t know if it will last forever. no one does.” Sylvie laughs a little , “Not even the time keepers. you know why? because they can’t decide your future for you, no one can, only you.”

“The timekeepers know everything.”

“Do they? Then why are you here? They didn’t know you would change the timeline and come here did they? The time keepers didn’t plan on having you at the TVA. So who says they know everyone's futures? Because from the looks of it, they don’t know everything that happens in the future.” Sylvie finished with a sigh.

Loki stares at Sylvie, surprised that they had this conversation with each other even though not even 24 hours ago they were trying to kill each other and now they are talking about love and being honest and open.

Sylvie shakes her head before clearing her throat, “I need to get rest so you do your thing and i’ll do mine got it?” Loki nods and Sylvie gets comfortable and closes her eyes.

Loki just sits there looking at you before him, getting comfortable himself with your head still on his shoulder, closing his eyes and letting rest take over him in a matter of seconds.

You open your eyes looking at Sylvie before looking at Loki, slightly shocked because of two things. One they had a full conversation that didn’t include any arguing or childlike behavior and two you just heard your best friend talk about his love for you.

I like that I get to keep my whole team when I replay older days. It doesn't make sense story wise but I am now used to using every button in battle and not having everyone would throw my whole game off

I love the social network web. It adds a nice dimension to Shibuya to have the NPCs know each other

Fret and Rindo's relationship. Like, at the start they aren't close, which is something you learn gradually cause they actually know a lot about each other (Fret doesn't know about Swallow, Rindo doesn't know about Fret's friend), but they become so tight it's great

Regarding all emotions someone could ever feel, you didn’t think something could be more powerful than hatred.

What in the world could be more powerful than disliking someone to the point you couldn’t even stand their presence? It meant you would prefer to leave rather than stay. Nothing could ever beat that. Nothing. People could do insane things moved by it. Things no one should ever think about doing nor do at all for that matter. Things that could hurt and destroy everything around someone’s life.

Even though common sense stated love was blind, you thought that maybe hate was blinder… Maybe hate was the one who blinded love. Who knew? You were sure hatred moved people to do the undoable. So what could be a better answer to your professor’s question? What was the most powerful feeling in the world?

“Fear” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him. You didn’t know if it was the black hair, the dark eyes, or that pretty face everyone felt the urge to ogle but somehow Hyunjin had that funny effect on people around him. It was like people needed to hear him, like he held some kind of mesmerizing voice that made people believe he was a wise man on a young body.

He wasn’t.

“How is fear greater than hate?” You scoffed, wondering why people looked at him like he knew what he was talking about “I never saw someone actively doing something because of fear but people actually make decisions based on hatred” You pointed out, smirking at him. Hyunjin couldn’t possibly retort you because you were right, and sooner or later he would have to admit it.

“I believe you didn’t quite understand the professor’s question, my dear” He had this ridiculous accent like he was British when he clearly wasn’t, and you couldn’t help but grimace at him before he continued “He asked what is the most powerful emotion not what emotion prompt people to do something… I must say that if an emotion paralyzes you to the point you can’t make a decision ─ as you pointed out yourself─ it must be quite powerful, don’t you agree?” He had that smug look on his face, suggesting he thought he had won your argument, and you would gladly wipe that smug grin out of there if Paris didn’t interrupt you.

“Excuse me but I think it’s love” Her voice sounded polite even though you knew she thought Hyunjin was being dumb “If fear is something that paralyzes someone and that is your argument for power, I think love can beat fear, so it’s obviously more powerful” She stated, not bothering to defend her arguments.

Typical Paris.

“In what world love beats fear?” He jeered, looking at her as if she was growing a third head “I’m sorry to disappoint you, darling, but life isn’t a fairy-tale” He pouted mockingly.

What a despicable guy.

“It’s well known that love can make someone so eager to protect another thing that you could simply ignore your fears and get stronger. Mothers can lift a car to free their child, soldiers can fight harder if they have someone to go back to! And if you consider the paralyzing feeling, knowing love can beat this would mean it’s stronger than fear… When you love you can do or give up on doing things just to be able to protect something you love” She stated proudly before you looked at your professor expecting his verdict.

Like on cue, the bell rang, announcing your class was over.

And so did he, waving dismissively to all of you to go.

Great, so it was a kind of philosophical game for him.

Your pointless argument ended up with nothing but a bunch of opinions you couldn’t say was right; and when it came to insisting on being right there was just one person in this world you could say you almost hated… Hyunjin. He came to you with his signature─ a smug grin that made you want to punch his face every day─, getting in your way to pack your things as he picked up one of your pencils, spinning it between his fingers. You didn’t even make the effort to ask it back, settling for extending your palm up, so he would give it back to you.

“Paris may have a point but I beat you” Should you punch his face for real someday? Probably not. You should keep good grades and a perfect image so you could keep your scholarship. What a pity. You shook your hand once, a silent ask for your pencil again, and this time he put it on your palm, leaning closer as he braced himself on the desk, trying to be seductive or something “What? Are you so upset you lost to me you don’t even want to talk anymore?” He said in a mocking tone that made you glare at him.

“Even when I’m right I don’t want to talk to you” You reminded him, throwing your bag’s strap on your shoulder “Let’s go, Paris, Chan said He was going to have lunch with us today” You took her hand and guided her to the door, walking fast so you could leave Hyunjin behind but he, unfortunately, was right on your tail.

“It’s funny because I recall you bragging every time you’re right and I’m not hearing it now” He said, easily picking up your pass, since his legs were way longer than yours “I guess you don’t want to talk to me because you lost again” Oh god, how could he be so insufferable?! You trailed your eyes around the stairs, looking for Chan on the crowd.

Thankfully, there he was.

Chan was a fine guy, as anyone with two functioning eyes could see or at least guess since a lot of girls were staring at him. He was waiting in the corner, his arms crossed on his chest and his bored eyes looking at the floor while he waited for you, his dark hair falling on his eyes, obliging him to run his fingers into his locks, looking charming in the eyes of the girls ogling him. You chuckled as you saw him eyeing them disgusted, clearly bothered by people looking at him doing nothing like he was some kind of idol or something.

“Hey, Sweety!” You shouted, making him roll his eyes at the nickname that symbolized your friendship. It was the first name you ever called him, a sarcastic remark for the typical rich guy he was, a pretty and spoiled bastard.

The circumstances you met weren’t the best ones but somehow they worked in your favor.

You were working hard on pilling some boxes ─ all of them with a “fragile” sticker that made you very aware about the possibility of losing your job if you dropped one of them─, so it was only natural you were pissed as hell when someone dropped all of them at once. As if he didn’t have anything better to do, Chan stood with his right hand raised to blame, a smirk plastered on his face as he said “Ops! Sorry, Sweety” making his dumb friends laugh at you.

You couldn’t say you were a typical rich girl especially because you were, in fact, quite poor, so your antics were totally justified by the need you had to keep your job on your hands and change your paradigm.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone with a brain but he had to pay for the losses.

So you shot him a tight smile when you saw him walking to the exit and said “Don’t forget to pay for those, Sweety”, making him shot a brow at you. You remembered clearly the way he got close to you, declaring with that cocky attitude you hated “Do you know who I am?” as if it would make any difference. You shoved him on the wall, losing your composure, and hissing at him that you didn’t care, and he should pay for it unless he was some kind of hallucination of your head.

He came back every day after that.

It has been four years since you two became friends against all the odds; and as a rich kid himself, Chan often paid for your meals, claiming your sorry ass should be thanking him instead of scoffing. You couldn’t help but nudge him with your elbow as soon as you got next to him, making him nudge you back as Paris clasped her hands together, her eyes beaming at your interaction.

“It’s so beautiful how you guys love each other!” Paris couldn’t see you interacting with another human being without believing you were in love, and although it kinda annoyed you, you tried to overlook it since she didn’t have much more to hold a grudge against. She had been your roommate for the past three years at the dorms, and even though she was a hopeless romantic and annoyed the hell out of you to get together with someone, that was pretty much her only great flaw.

You remembered perfectly how you thought your life was over once you met her.

Your first impression of the dorm was awful as you got there and saw the overly pink and cute stuff hanging all around the place as she tried to organize everything in her room. She didn’t have much stuff but all her stuff was vibrant and girly to the point it hurt your eyes.

You didn’t complain.

You put your bag on the floor, looking at her with a grimace as she beamed to meet her new friend. You could say you hated to live with her in the beginning, her carefree self was annoying and her overly friendly antics pissed you off as she always asked you to do things together, watch movies, and eat, and talk and... Well, anything you didn’t want to do with someone you just met. On top of all, she was somewhat lazy and didn’t do much, which ended up with you doing all the chores.

If you were to be fair, you were the one wearing out yourself, really.

Everything changed on a particularly exhausting day.

You had to be a damn good juggler on that week, working yourself until you couldn’t even think about anything clearly. You were like a zombie. A workaholic zombie. You had to go to classes, get your work done, do your assignments, clean up the dorm, study your ass off for the exams, pretend to be a normal human being by socializing with people… Well, basically you were pretty busy on being perfect as you expected you to be. It was obvious that after all your exams were finally done and you got out of work you needed to relax as soon as you got home.

You fixed yourself something to eat, turned on the TV, crashed on the couch to watch something, and just blacked out right there.

When you woke up on the next day’s afternoon, you got a cozy feeling above you, some fluffy blanket was thrown around your body, making you warm and peaceful. You shot your body up, sitting on the couch and looking around, alarmed, just to see the TV turned off, the dishes cleaned, the dorm tidy, and your bubbly roommate folding the clothes. You got up from the couch quickly and made a bow, apologizing profusely for being a mess and letting everything out of place on the night before. She scoffed, shrugging it off by waving her hand and said something around “I know you like to do the chores but you wore out yourself this week, you should take a break! You’re not being a burden! Isn’t helping each other out what friends do?” and it made you gasp before smiling.

You didn’t think of her as a friend back then but it did change that day.

“It would be even more beautiful if you didn’t try to make us swallow up your need to a nonexistent love between us every time I take you guys out” Chan pointed out, grimacing at her. You couldn’t say Chan and Paris got along even though you tried to make them friendly towards each other but you couldn’t blame Chan for being an ass since you weren’t any better to his friend.

“So you’re taking us out to lunch? Wonderful!” Hyunjin beamed in sarcasm, knowing too well you would complain. You rolled your eyes and looked at Chan as you guys started to walk, getting on your way to his car so he could take you wherever he was planning to go.

“It’s called a friendly gathering for a reason, Hyunjin… It means only friends can come” You feigned sympathy, pressing your lips together and looking at him with apologetic eyes. He scoffed at you and nudged Chan on the shoulder, resting his hand there as you walked.

“I’m his friend too! He’s paying so I can go as a friend unless you want to pay for everyone, then I will have to retreat” He argued, an almost unnoticeable smirk on his lips. You pouted, turning to Chan to complain but he seemed to not pay attention to your childish argument, ignoring you as he looked straight ahead, unbothered.

“He’s right” He stated before you could whine, showing that he was indeed hearing your conversation. Chan had this habit of pretending not to pay attention to you just to state something that showed he was tuned with everything even though he looked bored, and it always seemed to amaze you. He was a sneak little prick. You whined at him, complaining randomly so he would give up on his idea but he wasn’t buying it, pretty much ignoring you.

“You’re rich! You don’t even need him to pay for you” You decided to complain to Hyunjin, who just shot you an amused look, scoffing.

“You work! You don’t need it either” He pointed out, making you sigh. You looked at Paris for support but she was watching the world absent-mindedly, humming something she probably had come up with on the walk, testing over and over again some tune she seemed to like and picking up her phone quickly, recording it and sending it to you so she could save it. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket and sighed.

What great friends you had.

“Oh! Are you going to come to Han’s game?” She asked suddenly, looking at you excited “He even said if he couldn’t score a point for us this time he would treat us afterward!” You laughed at her enthusiasm, shaking your head in disbelief.

“Was he laughing when you took the deal?” You asked and she seemed to think hard about it, her fingers gripping her chin as she frowned, trying to recall her conversation with your mutual friend. As soon as she remembered it, she smiled and nodded, making you snort “That’s because he’s a Líbero, Paris, they can’t score any points… He was hitting on you” You explained, her eyes shining in realization.

“He pranked me!” She uttered, laughing.

“If you actually paid attention to his explanations you would have guessed it” You pointed out, making Chan snort “Are you coming?” You asked him but Chan shot you a pointed look.

“Do I look like the kind of guy who would go to a volleyball match?” He asked mockingly, making you shrug.

“You don’t look like the kind of guy who spends your time with dumbasses but here we are going to eat with one” You retorted, glancing over your shoulders so Hyunjin knew you were talking about him. You finally made it to the car. Chan clicked his key’s button, unlocking his car from afar before you got there, opening the door, and getting inside with a cool motion that made you laugh. He was so playboyish!

“I wasn’t even doing anything right now” Hyunjin complained as he got himself on the front seat in the same way Chan did, trying to look cool. You snorted at him, getting in the car and sliding to the side so Paris could get in beside you “Is it just to get my attention?” He teased, looking over his shoulder, getting startled at your face so close to his, your arms were resting on Chan’s sit, your chin resting on your arm as you looked ahead, watching as your friend backed up.

You didn’t hate Hyunjin or something like this, you both just teased each other every time you could. You weren’t really fond of his antics since he was just a playboy that didn’t care about anything apart from him ─ and you weren’t really the kind to feel comfortable around dickheads─, so your friendship just wasn’t meant to happen. You could tolerate him well enough when he wasn’t pissing you off at classes though. You could say you both were academic rivals, extremely smart students that liked to overcome the other by doing witty remarks and good work…

It wasn’t about being the best student, you didn’t believe in such a thing, it was about being better than him, and he wanted to be better than you.

You could remember clearly the first time you met.

He was a cocky guy back then too.

He sat right next to you even though there were tons of available seats, his smirk suggesting he wasn’t really the friendly type, so he could only be there flirting. You rolled your eyes. He tried to chat with you, talking about him and how he was taking that psychology elective because the other ones seemed too easy for him. You nodded, not really listening to his monologue, and opened your notebook as soon as the Professor came in, presenting himself and giving you a deep question that made you contemplate in silence before you answered it proudly. He scoffed. He scoffed right on your face as he retorted you, and you retorted him back, and then he retorted you again… Your endless arguing conquered a proud clap from your Professor.

You, on the other hand, conquered a rival.

Later that week Chan invited you to see his new place, an apartment he rented with a friend even though both of them could easily live by themselves… You could never understand them. You arrived ranting about your classes, bringing the “smartass” issue as soon as you remember, and complaining about that guy that would seat beside you twice a week.

You regret till this very day the way you said he was a hot and annoying guy because at this very moment he showed up on his sweatpants, using a towel to dry his hair as some drops fell onto his shirtless chest. He smirked at you, teasing you by saying “Hot, hm? So you were just playing hard to get. I like it” as he leaned on the wall, hanging the towel on his shoulder and making fun of you about it till this very day.

“Hello? Earth to Y/N?” Paris was waving her hand right in front of your eyes, trying to get your attention. You shot your eyes to her, startled, smiling apologetically “We’re here” She announced, making you realize Chan was parking, a huge and presumably expensive restaurant standing there in all its glory.

You would need to work at least to your death to be able to pay for breathing the air inside it.

“Holy shit, are you rich?” You asked in disbelief, shock getting the better of you as you completely forgot who you were talking about. Chan grimaced at you like you were his dumb but lovingly friend, and you shot him a glare as soon as you composed yourself.

Let Chan spend his money mindlessly and he would bankrupt his family.

You weren’t exactly the sport type but being on the grandstand together with a bunch of people you never talked to, all of you gathering by the same will to defeat the enemy… It just made its way to your mind somehow. You cheered loudly, booing at the opponents' team and their fans while clapping hard at your own team, shouting your lungs out every time Han made a good play, which was pretty often if you were fair.

If anyone asked you when you made it to college if you would be going to games and cheering for your team, you would laugh on their faces… In fact, that was exactly what you did the first time Han asked you if you were going to his game, amused by his innocence. You two met because Paris was majoring in Music and He decided to take some music classes, which got him an invitation to a party Paris decided to throw on a Friday night.

It was kind of cute how he was so flustered there, taking your offer for a glass of whatever Paris had mixed to serve as a drink with trembling hands. He was one of the first guys you had the pleasure to analyze as an aspiring psychologist, the clear signals of an awkward guy around the girl he had a crush all over his face: Pink cheeks, stuttering, exaggerated gesticulation, high pitched voice, inability to stay still as he swift his weight side to side, nervous eyes looking around the room…

The poor boy was on edge, his eyes resting on Paris from time to time as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know the right words.

Although he was a player in the court, he was far from that on real life and you found it cute.

You remembered how he winced startled as you patted his shoulder, he looked like a little squirrel stocking his cheeks with alcohol just so he could gulp it down and choke, confused at your knowing look. He ended up being Paris’ partner for most of their projects, obviously trying to get some alone time with her, even though she always called you to listen to their compositions, blowing his plans. All that hanging out and his friendly behavior began a loose friendship, where you went to watch his games with Paris and you two went to watch Paris’s performances, your little alliance being settled so you wouldn’t feel excluded.

That was how thoughtful he was.

Paris screamed, hyped by your team score, and you followed her, standing up and cupping your mouth to scream his name, his eyes searching for both of you in the crowd, a bright smile when his eyes connected to yours. You waved at his way, getting a wave as an answer before he had to focus again on his match.

As soon as the game ended, you both waited as the sea of people made their way out of the grandstand, mostly hyped for some afterward party that certainly would be happening somewhere. You and Paris made your way to the court, waiting for Han to come back from the locker room while chatting about the game. It took him some time to take his bath and get ready, and he came out of the locker room along with some friends that patted his back and complimented his plays, waving him goodbye as soon as they saw us waiting, knowing you wouldn’t go to the party.

“Y/N told me you can’t score a point as a Libero” Was the first thing Paris said, chuckling, making Han cackle up.

“You should know it by now! You came to literally every game I played for… Two years? It’s insane! What did you think? That I was a terrible player?” Paris grinned sheepishly and this time you cackled up.

“It seems like your partner doesn’t believe in your abilities” You pointed out, making him snort “Anyway, I heard you would be paying if you didn’t score anything, so it’s on you today, loser” Han grinned, throwing his arms around your shoulders, pulling both of you closer as he guided you.

“I can offer you the best hot dog in town” He agreed “Maybe even a soda if we all share it” Paris laughed, holding his wrist as she walked along with him, you took the hint to take his arm off your shoulders and let them have their moment, missing the way he pouted when you broke away the contact.

“I can pay for our drinks” You offered, making Han gasp in mock chock.

“Rich, aren’t we?” He joked, getting a light push on the shoulder as an answer.

“I work for a reason, moron” You rolled your eyes “Now let’s split that bill” You smiled as the three of you made your way to your favorite hot-dog stand on campus.

There's a 90% chance that writing literally any of it down will tempt me to actually start working on it. Thankfully, there's not much to the base concept + the dream, and my memory is only ever incredible when it comes to story concepts that I don't have time for.

At one point I had a 50 character family tree memorized for literally no reason. Only, like, ten of those characters were important OCs, the rest were there for flavor purposes.

Buuuuuut back to the cyoa thing real quick: Because I can't stop thinking about it, I'll go ahead and put some of my thoughts under a read-more, for those interested.

Primary Story Concept: The reader (who will be referred to as the PC from here on out) has recently been granted the Cadou by Mother Miranda. They have an incredible gift, one that Miranda knows she can take great advantage of in the future, but one that makes them a target for would-be conspirers and mutineers. Though the extent of their powers is kept vague for most of the story (with optional scenes allowing the PC to test/explore the limits), the easiest way to describe them is as follows: The PC projects a peaceful/anti-violence aura to everyone in their vicinity. People near them cannot bring themselves to physically harm anyone, in any way, by any means. This does not, however, stop the PC from hurting others (should they choose to do so), and there is a limit to the range of this ability. In other words, someone could theoretically shoot the PC, or poison their food. In order to keep the PC safe for her own purposes, Mother Miranda sends them to Castle Dimitrescu, where they will stay until Miranda needs them. Miranda instructs Lady Dimitrescu to keep the PC safe, while also ensuring their continued loyalty to the Village. Miranda specifically recommends that Lady D tries to get one of her daughters to "court" the PC, believing that a romance is the perfect way to get the PC to care about the Village's well-being. Also because plot<3

Secondary Story Elements: The PC will go about their new life at Castle Dimitrescu, forming close bonds with the vampiric family. While the game is geared towards romance, the PC will have the option to have purely platonic relations with the Dimitrescus. Lady D herself is not a romance option, but all three of her daughters are. Early in the game, the PC is given the option to establish each of the daughters as either a "friend" candidate or a "romance" candidate, which determines the general vibes of all scenes involving that character. You can choose to set all three daughters as romance candidates. However, I am not currently planning on making polyamory an endgame option, due to how much the variables/combinations can complicate/clutter the coding aspect. Instead, the PC is eventually given the option to "lock in" a romance with one of their candidates, requiring a minimum ROMANCE stat (read the next section for more info) with their choice, story-wise meaning that the relationship becomes official. At that point, any other romance candidates will switch to friend candidates, after a scene in which things are discussed with the PC. There are no consequences for not choosing someone you've selected as a romance candidate (i.e. no loss in the FRIENDSHIP stat), but it may be referenced in dialogue. The PC can end the game with no girlfriend if they want, either by making everyone a friend candidate or by intentionally avoiding locking in a romance (and there are differences between the two!).

Primary Game Mechanics: The PC will be able to customize themselves for optimal player immersion, by specifying pronouns, choosing between "short" and "tall" (relative to the canon cast. Cassandra + Bela will always be taller than the PC, but how much taller depends on the choice. Dani will be the same height as a "tall" PC), specifying hair length, inputting a name/nickname, and possibly other appearance details (depending on how tiring the coding gets, lmao). All of this will be handled in the opening, wherein Mother Miranda discusses the PC with Lady Dimitrescu, and the latter reads through the PC's "patient file". For the core gameplay, there are 3 major stats, though 2 of them are handled separately for each of the romance options. Firstly, POWER: A rough value indicating how much the PC has practiced with/studied their powers. A higher stat allows them to increase the range of their influence, exert more control over those under their influence (ex: they could make someone lay down their weapons, as opposed to just preventing them from using the weapons), and allow exceptions to their influence (ex: oh no, one of the gremlins are injured, and would benefit from drinking blood, but you're the only person around! with a high enough POWER stat, you could allow her to bite you). Second + third, FRIENDSHIP + ROMANCE: As previously stated, the Dimitrescu gremlins/sisters can be selected as either a friend candidate or a romance candidate. These stats track the progression of the PC's bond with each sibling. FRIENDSHIP always increases at the same time that ROMANCE does, in order for the bonds forged with the character to stay consistent, even if that character is eventually made a friend candidate (having previously been a romance candidate). The ROMANCE stat only increases if the character in question has been selected as a romance candidate. Higher FRIENDSHIP/ROMANCE stats allow the PC to make special choices with the character in question, leading to different outcomes for scenes, or even opening up entirely unique scenes! Ex: During a "free day" at the castle, the PC has the default options of hanging out with any one of the sisters, testing their powers, or having some bonding time with Lady D (who does have a FRIENDSHIP stat, even if it's more accurate to describe her as the PC's caretaker/eventual mother-in-law lmao). If the PC has a high enough ROMANCE stat with one of their romance candidates, however, they can choose to go on a special date with the candidate instead! Another ex: At a pivotal point in the story, one (or more) of the sisters may get injured. As previously mentioned, a high POWER stat allows the sister to feed from the PC, maintaining her health. However, if the PC's POWER stat is too low, they can also try to pass the requirement with FRIENDSHIP/ROMANCE, because love (whether platonic or romantic!) conquers all.

Quick Notes: There would be zero "bad" endings, game overs, or, like, horrible things that happen because your stats are too low. It's fluffy, mainly, and while there is tension (like one of the sisters getting hurt), there's always a happy ending. Having the stats/choices is really just there for adding variety to playthroughs/determining the version of a happy ending that you get.

I really have found myself liking platonic relationships in media more and more as I’ve grown older. Though, I still remain a hopeless romantic in a way. Even thinking about relationships that aren’t purposefully platonic is good too, like in the way of not just about being “not romantic”, if you know what I mean—they just are what they are. The depth of these relationship types, though, are often undermined by fans for their own reasons. Shipping culture is a big one, naturally, but reasons also include a fan that simply may not be able to relate to the deep levels platonic relationships can reach in how they’re described. It’s always best to keep in mind that what can be cherished by others isn’t limited to our own experiences. What we recognize for ourselves may not be the more, raw truth of how certain things can or are meant to be recognized as.

Some people don’t have siblings, or may not have a great relationship with their own, but I believe it’s still a great thing that, despite it, you can still see the beauty for those that have it. In real life and media.

Media-wise, think about Elsa and Anna, Fang and Vanille, Lightning and Serah, the Wayfinder Trio, Shalua and Shelke, Lelouch and Nunnally, Tanjiro and Nezuko, Sam and Dean (oh Supernatural lol), The Outsiders in general, etc. etc.

These characters have gone above and beyond for one another. Some, even fit within the “hogosha” [guardian-parental sentiment/function] role that I always love to see— mostly that of the older siblings this role is applicable to. Inline with that, we often see going further than just “this is my sister/brother”—we see what I call “existential descriptors” that go beyond family, friendship, romance—any relationship type actually and the complexities that can be within each.

Ya’ll have seen the words/phrases before: “irreplaceable”, “most special/important person”, “reason for existing/living”, “more than [beyond] family”, “never being apart”, “[the other’s] life being more important than their own”, etc. etc.

Sibling relationships are on my mind today, but these descriptors can be used for any relationship type to talk about the “strength of the bond” in its essence, not by type or function, hence why these descriptors aren’t indicative of a type. Just that of its value and strength to the individuals. All things that can be used for any relationship, yet what it tells us about it goes beyond than what a type alone can give, even though it’s within the bounds of it. You can have a weak sibling relationship, or, an irreplaceable one—same type, but what you’ll get storytelling-wise is going to be leagues apart.

For some people, it’s kind of irrelevant I suppose—again those reasons can vary. It might be someone who can’t relate, or they’re too caught up in shipping culture/romanticism and they’d rather see these types of descriptors for only romantic relationships. The latter happens FAR too often in a way that usually ends up besmirching what context actually exists between two characters—I don’t think I’ve ever seen this happen as bad as with Fang and Vanille, so widely misconstrued that the actual context is rarely examined or is openly denied with, really, not so great reasoning.

Eh...I don’t want to get that into it, but if I had to be real to whoever cares to read this, it’s actually infuriating—it leaves a lot of things unreasonably unappreciated. But, what I also know is people have their reasons—part of what I call “Congruent Truths”, as to what I mentioned before. I did have a conversation once, with someone who felt uncomfortable watching Elsa and Anna interact in Frozen 2 because everything they did, they wouldn’t have that intimacy unless it was with a romantic interest. Or care for and look after someone like Fang to Vanille unless it’s your lover. Or the classic, sleep in the same bed like Ponyboy and Sodapop did without “feeling things”. Yo what? Lol To be fair, if those things are congruent to “your truth” of romantic functionality, is what it is for your sake, but you can’t let that limit your understanding of the nature of what you’re looking at and its own context it’s expressed in, either. “Let context be your guiding key”, and all that.

Anyway, that’s a whole other thing. Point being is that, I really enjoy the bonds we can see with platonic relationships in media, most notably if they’re either with that hogosha depth or we get into the existential descriptors that set how important they are to each other. I’m still a hopeless romantic, but romance just isn’t the epitome of all relationship types and extent of these mentioned values. Japanese media is great for this, though of course it absolutely isn’t limited to that culture’s media, but it often has some great grounds.

Trust me, I have a friend who can give the masterclass on the “Power of Kizuna” in Japanese media lol There’s levels to these things.

MTR here! Letting you know I did send Lucky my answer regarding blocked anon and will answer other questions soon but this is a hot topic I figured I’d tackle in the mean time!

I’m going to nip this in the bud with just my guides. They’re telling me we’re all right about the situation regarding whoever The Empress is and how they’re related to Pedro. For this reading, I will be using female pronouns to reference the gender of the card so keep that in mind.

My guides tell me that yes she’s not in the film industry. Not yet. She’s currently working non film related jobs while she waits for her break. I sense she’s made some luck with her progress, but it’s nothing that’ll get her recognized yet. But I can see she’s close to getting that break she’s been working so hard for. And I agree, I don’t sense she’s an actress. I do sense writer or producer as well, I keep getting the smell of coffee and old books. She’s meant to be behind the scenes with a great amount of creative power. The universe has a seat reserved for her at this table, and she’s just waiting her turn to be seated.

My guides tell me they know about each other, but don’t know each other. Previous reader said she ‘sees' him but he doesn't 'see' her, and that’s correct. The Empress knows who Pedro is and she’s manifesting the fuck out of him. She is a fan, but with boundaries. She’s focused on her own career but isn’t set on ever settling with Pedro. If they do, great! But she doesn’t need him. Her eyes are set on her work but she has room made for him if he ever is ready for her. My guides are telling me she is a bit younger, and acts older than she is. She has very wise energy, someone whose soul has been around awhile. She shares similar traumas and experiences Pedro has, but unlike him, she’s healed from them and moved on. Her plate is empty, or nearly empty.

She’s going to take Pedro by surprise because she’s everything he wants in a person but doesn’t look quite like what he expected. It’s why he tentatively starts a slow friendship that progresses fast into romance once he realizes this is his person. He’s afraid to let himself fall because of his abandonment issues and the hurt he’s gotten from women in his life. But like others said, he is hyper focused on work right now to avoid what he’s juggling on his very stacked plate and until he’s able to heal and sit down and sort out what’s on his plate, he won’t be able to meet his Empress. Too much focus on work will bring materialism and self doubt. He’s meant to meet this person at a very low point in his life, once he’s ready to learn from his pain and mistakes.

The reason why it’s hard for us to see more for who the Empress is is both due to Pedro’s unresolved issues, but also because we’re not meant to alter her path. Knowing anything concrete would have us threaten her path to success and Pedro. We will only learn more as she becomes more well known to the public and Pedro himself. I pulled three cards that represent her, but I won’t go into detail with how long this already is. I was surprised to get mostly major arcana cards. I pulled Temperance (she’s patient, fair, and understanding), Death (someone who loves change, is deeply intense, and loves new new challenges), and Strength (she has great inner balance and is a natural born leader who is deeply passionate).

What connects the Square/”incompatible” signs

Aries and Cancer: Both are extremely caring and loyal to a fault. Even if their ways of nurture sometimes clash, each one of them is someone who would kill for their loved ones and wouldn’t hesitate to fight someone for them. Both of them are leaders, albeit in different ways. But if betrayed, their whole demeanor shifts and they can be petty and aggressive, but only because they cared so much and have an undying loyalty towards the ones they love.

Gemini and Virgo: These two signs are both ruled by Mercury and are the intellectual powerhouses of the zodiac. Their minds are constantly working, constantly fixing things, never at a stop. They can relate to each other’s intellectual and calm approach to everything and how they prefer to show love by either giving advice or doing acts of service for them. In reality however they just want to be straightforward, thinking honesty is above all else and necessary to take the necessary steps towards improvement.

Aquarius and Taurus: When people look at these two signs, they may come off as unapproachable, as on another level somehow. They seem to exist in their own world, somehow standing out even though they aren’t doing anything special. People either admire or loathe these qualities and tend to make up their own image of these signs based on what they see from the outside rather on the inside, seeing a completely different thing when they ultimately step into their world and actually experience their personalities and how warm and kind they can be. Nonetheless, this can also lead to them living their lives in their own bubble, never wanting to shy away from what they know and not face people from the outside, content with never being challenged.

Pisces and Gemini: Quite easy-going, these two signs bond over their their mutual want for peace and a light-hearted, fun relationship. Never taking things too seriously, they share a similar sense of humor and are also able to stimulate each other intellectually and talk about deeper things and humanity as a whole, Gemini is eager to talk and Pisces is eager to listen, likewise both of them are eager to learn, especially from other people.
