Found a whole bunch of vegetarian and vegan food for my partner and kid to have this year again and each year it’s getting so much better for this! The embracing of diet which isn’t just slabs of meat everywhere is wonderful and has needed to happen for many years. Not everyone can cook a vegetarian meal from scratch! And come ON, party food? Hello??? It was rarely stocked out here in the countryside like it was more so in the city. I’m glad I could do this for them. Vegan tempura nests? And things like faux king prawns and all kinds of things! Vegan turkey? Wreaths? No pressure for nut roast and biscuits or fkin nothing (exaggeration but not really). I’m seeing dozens of people queuing at the Butchers and is that because they wanna or is it because they think they have to? Or what?
I’m not strictly vegetarian and anyone that makes the excuse that they’re not vegetarian so “can’t” incorporate decent vegetarian food into the holiday meals are just being lazy aha, you’re eating half a plate of vegetarian food which lets be honest, it’s pretty lame I mean potatoes and sprouts, sprouts being one of the most famous gross vegetables available😂.
“I don’t get people who decide to go plant based and then buy food that looks like meat”, well, why do people who eat meat buy food that doesn’t “look like meat”? Because a sausage sure doesn’t look like a pig. Likewise, why? Just because you don’t want to eat an animal, doesn’t mean you don’t get to be allowed to enjoy the taste, aha. It allows people to still eat it without needing to eat an animal and not enjoying that aspect. Intolerant meat eaters complain a lot about the “nasty taste of vegetables” then get aggy about people otherwise enjoying the taste more than a plain carrot (for example).
There’s so many delicious foods out there that don’t require incredibly expensive cuts of meat with everything! It just irritates me sometimes how OTT people go when it comes to eating meat unnecessarily? And how rude some get towards anyone does anything else. There’s never a need for the whole table to be full of meat food and upset faces of people who don’t eat it once again going without. 😩 Season of family and friends though right? 👀 It’s not hard to be selfless and incorporate plant based options for people, it isn’t! I am the minority for eating meat in my little family, I don’t eat much but it all works fine! Nobody is ever left out. I don’t get the flat out refusal to try. It’s not just often vegetables with no seasoning on which is what most people will only add on the side of a steak as it is?
It’s not hard to Google what to do either if you don’t know, or dare say it, ask. This isn’t just with vegetarian/vegan food, this is having things to hand for a plate of food for anyone with a different diet to you that you’re inviting. Diabetic, allergies, dishes which respect their faith if they’re wanting to come over to respect yours or your traditions as well, the least you can do is return it. If you can’t afford it, say they are free to bring their own food that they know they can eat or would like to, so everyone can sit down comfortably and have a meal and enjoy themselves rather than old school culture of feeling forced.
I love ketchup on loads of food. Roast dinner included! It makes everything nicer for me and even more so when I used to dislike gravy as a kid but I got endless comments about it. It doesn’t matter! It’s a time to enjoy a treat, and food we love, like any other holiday or special occasion. That’s the point. Stop making people uncomfortable excluding them!
Happy solstice for the 21st as well~ and a good autumn and winter for any other things people were doing during this time. 🍵
Share what you got up to if you like, I’d love to hear it, in my comments or ask box! Or, what you enjoyed eating for a treat or for any religious holiday you’ve engaged with. Have a lot of fun and also if I don’t get chance to say it before, Happy New Year!

Tip: Coffee Crêpes is a delightful creperie near the Seine. They have clearly labeled vegan menu sections for savory and sweet galettes, and have a range of interesting vegan ingredients like pesto, mozzarella, and hazelnut spread. Don't be fooled though: their vegan "crepes" are in fact just galettes. Four tables available for outdoor seating!

I saw a post where everyone in the batfam had adopted the airhead Brucie Wayne cover except for Damian and of course Alfred. So I wanted to add to the pile. :)
All of them are sitting in a restaurant
Brucie: … wait this has a little label for vegetarian on it but it doesn’t have any meat in it. I think you forgot to label it vegan!
Waiter: … this has whipped cream, eggs and milk in it sir.
Dick: Wait whipped cream isn’t vegan?!?
Jason: No, I’m pretty sure it is.
Dick: well if it isn’t I messed up my vegan challenge week and nobody told me!
Tim: can’t we just pay someone to find out if whipped cream is vegan?
Brucie: Good idea! [Takes out $100 bill and hands it to the waiter] Is whipped cream vegan?
Waiter: uhh
Damian: PLEASE STOP! NONE OF YOU HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS! WHY DID THIS BECOME A DEBATE?
Dick: that’s not true I’m a pescatarian now! I really miss eating fish but it’s worth it!
Damian with head in hands: that’s not what- ugh forget it!
The waiter now confirms to everyone that they come across that Damian Wayne is indeed the holder of the Wayne Family Braincell.
Tabloids dub this conversation the dessert debate. It becomes a trend to ask what Bruce thinks is vegan during interviews.

MAJOR ED LIFE HACK: Hot Chocolate
Idk how it took me this long to discover this but I just made amazing hot chocolate and it was only 57 cals for a whole mug!!! LIFE HACK OF THE YEAR
Craving something sweet? Want to feel full at a low cost? Need something warm? HOT CHOCOLATE BABEY
I Used Low cal plant milk/almond milk to make mine and of course calorie-free Stevia/sweetener instead of sugar.
Most cocoa powders are between 300-400 calories per 100 grams but you only need like 10-20 grams for a mug depending how thick and rich you want it. So that’s like 30-50 calories at most.
Also BONUS POINTS if you have a milk foamer/steamer, frothing the milk adds SO much dimension to the texture + easily heats up your milk.
Here’s my REIPE FOR LOW CAL HOT CHOCOLATE!!!
Recipe:
10 grams hot chocolate or cocoa powder (approx. 36 cals for 10 g)
Almond milk/your favorite plant milk ~ 100-200mL or as much as you desire ofc (approx. 44 cal per 200 mL for almond milk)
Low calorie Sweeteners e.g stevia, saccharine (0-5 cals)
Spices i.e cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla (optional)!
Milk foamer/steamer
Total cals: 50-80 cals per serving depending on amounts and products used
The Process:
Add desired amount of cocoa powder into your favorite tall mug
Pour in your milk of choice
Steam or froth your milk with the cocoa powder to heat it up and make it velvety
Add in sweetener to dissolve well + froth some more to mix it in
Add hot water (if more volume/less thickness is desired)
Add spices (optional)
Voilà - ENJOY!!!

Just a quick tip for vegan activists:
I'm vegetarian myself, and although I'd be lying if I said I approved of eating meat, THAT DOESN'T GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO CALL EVERYONE WHO EATS MEAT A MONSTER.
And if you want people to listen to you, go to conventions and give talks like a normal person. DAMAGING PEOPLE'S PROPERTY and going out of your way to be a pain in the arse is not how you GET PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO YOU. I mean who are people more likely to listen to:
A: the person who raids barns and destroys other's property, and says that all people who eat meat deserve death.
Or B: the person who calmly explains to you why the meat industry is bad and needs to be stopped.
If you do the tactic of person A, then you are far more likely to hurt your cause and embarrass yourself.
In conclusion, you can be a vegan activist all you want. JUST DON'T BE A JERK ABOUT IT.

Tip: Furahaa is an all-vegan burger joint that has a classic junk food feel. Unlike most burger places around here, the fries actually come with ketchup; a rare delicacy in these parts. The burger portions are a little bit on the smaller side, so consider upsizing to a double or triple if you're hungry! Enjoy your meal at one of the four outdoor dining tables.

make it a priority to fall unconditionally in love with your body. it has carried you through everything you have been through up until this point. it is you. and you deserve to be loved fully—especially by your self. you cannot escape yourself and it is so important to work towards the position that—even provided with the chance to do so—you would not consider escaping. you are enough.
