A) a fic where Qin su is the one that resurrected Wei Wuxian and she give him a detail instruction. I remember a scene where Wei Wuxian try to seduce Jin Guangyao so that he can get out from Koi tower. mdzs x pokemon au thoughts

mostly focusing on yunmeng trio - or rather duo (jc and wwx)

So, focusing on bodies of water, magikarps could be found in lots of places. Especially in yunmeng.

There are also many disciples who likes hard and seemingly impossible challenges. Like training magikarps into gayardoses.

And yunmeng jiang sect can be proud of few disciples and clan members who successfully trained their magikarps into gayardoses. Also, at some point it became the question of not "who can achieve it", but "who can train the stronger gayardos from magikarp" or "who can train the stronger gayardos from magikarp faster" or "who can train the stronger gayardos from magikarp faster without the pokemon starting to hate you and running away somewhere" or "who can train the stronger gayardos from magikarp and be the youngest to do so".

That's why the two young rivals caught a magikarp for themselves to train. Achive the impossible and kick the ass of your sect brother etc.

JC's magikarp has some sick-ass name that would be truly suitable for a beast like a gayardos (but still it's something a ten year old (or younger?) would think of.

WWX thought of so. MANY. NAMES. but none of them was the ideal of his glorious magikarp-sooner-than-JC's-turned-to-be-gayardos. In the end it's name is some kind of fish-based dish that JY implied*, would make magikarp into if he starts abounding the poor pokemon now**.

(* she only asked nicely if he's still training it!) (** JC at least knows some lick of responsibility because he had dogs (dog-like pokemon?) before. But Jiang Fengmian's and Madam Yu's neglect towards (their) children is not the best example of taking care of others :/ And if YJ is going to make her brothers learn some responsibility by making them focus on their bet then it's no-ones business)

Anyways. Training magikarps it's surprisingly not so easy. Despite the hard training sessions both pokemon have not evolved before the boys had to go to Gusu for lectures. They still have not evolved when they came back, nor when the Indoctrination happened, nor when Lotus Pier was attacked - and what's worse they got separated from their trainers when the siblings trio were on the run, (why would you have your water-based pokemon in some kind of pokeball when you live nearby water???). And so, JC's and WWX's bet was never resolved....

...some time later, when the Sunshot Campaign was ongoing, there was plan to retake Lotus Pier. Well, plan always was to retake Lotus Pier, but now they had means and battle plans to do so.

Yet, by the time they arrived, instead of Wens roaming around they found Lotus Pier overtaken by pokemons with two gayardoses seemingly taking the role of main bosses there.

It was a beautiful moment of pokemons reuniting with their trainers, new jiang members being glad not to be considered food by the wild pokemon due being part of the jiang, non-jiang members taking few significant steps back to not get eaten, and everyone sans two having a moment of 'what the fuck did they call them' when (mostly)respectable people like Sandu Sengshou and (not-yet-called-that-then)Yilling Patriarch calling to two gayardoses name akin to "Terminator 3000" and "Chicken Nuggets"

They still don't know who's magikarp evolved first. Officially the bet ended with a tie. Practically Jin Ling's granchildren are aware the bet was never resolved.

PS1: there was this one post about how Jiang Family is bad at names (including wwx) and it lives rent free in my brain, but I don't remember who's it was nor specifics

PS2: I hc that if wwx (no matter the au) had pets, either he would let others name them (not because he doesn't have ideas, but because he thinks other short-timed joy is more important/more valuable than his decision in things that don't pertain to the safety of his loved ones and if others don't think for even a moment that his silly name for his pet is good for his pet than why shouldn't he listen to them especially if it's coming from his loved ones?), OR he would name his pets after some kind of food.

All the Wen Remnants want is to live in peace until their dying day, WWX enables that by creating a massive barrier over the Burial Mounds that makes time move faster for those within it.

The Sects finally lay seige to the Burial Mounds and break the barrier, they are stunned to discover the Burial Mounds are now a lush thriving paradise free of resentment, the Stygian Tiger Amulet now merely a powerless and rusted trinket.

JC is the one who discovers WWX had been manipulating time but LWJ is the one who discovers Suibian, a first class spiritual sword, massively aged and used as a gravemarker alongside Chengqing (that now has flowers growing out of the holes) for her master who died hundreds of years ago.

It started small. A way to speed up the crops growing so everyone could eat. In injury that would have taken months to heal only taking an hour. Speeding up the Burial Mounds slow recovery until it became a place where life was possible again.

No one noticed at first. The days felt like they were passing by normally. Of course A-Yuan shot up so quickly, all children do. Of course their elders felt slow and ache with all the hard work farming demanded. But then one of the women had a late in life pregnancy in her early forties. Barely a month after finding out she was expecting she birthed a healthy nine month old baby boy.

Wei Wuxian had already been working on a way to stop what was happening but Wen Qing had gone to him and asked "Would it really be so bad to leave it? We don't know how long we have until the other sects come for us. Let the elders spend their last days in peace and let the children grow until they can defend themselves."

He recognized this and demanded him for himself (without explaining that this was his son), and the Jiangs handed him over to the beaten ones, believing that he was guilty. What if they go even further? Madame Yu is pleased to hand over the severed head of the "servant's son"...

Since secretlyevil! is popular this week, I propose secretly evil mxy finds a ritual for temporary possession expecting that WWX will do his thing and he’ll wake up in a year as the ruler of the cultivation world. Instead he wakes up in the jingshisleeping next to hanguang-jun. Your bet if he confesses or he tries to take over wwx’s postcanon life…

Mo Xuanyu wasn't expecting to wake up next to one of the most beautiful men in the world. He had sort of been expecting two or three beautiful women given all the rumors of Wei Wuxian before he died. He was by no means complaining of course!

A quick look around the room led to real disappointment though. He didn't know where he was, but the early morning light made it obvious that this was not the empire he had been expecting. A part of him had thought the Yilling Patriarch would take over Koi Towers since it was by far the most luxurious city in the known world.

Still, it was better then that thrice damned shed.

Now all Mo Xuanyu had to do was continue to play the part. He had no doubt that Wei Wuxian had built up an army for him to command. He just had to make sure no one got close enough to begin doubting his power. Hopefully Wei Wuxian didn't have a habit of showing off...

He began to climb out of bed, eager to see what the Yilling Patriarch had built for himself in the past year but was stopped by a strong arm around his waist.

Really though- he had to commend the Yilling Patriarch for his excellent taste in men! Hangung-Jun as a lover! That alone was worth losing his body for a year.

Mo Xuanyu didn't really think much of interacting with Hangung-Jun. The other man would at most be a concubine who no one would listen to if he noticed Wei Wuxian acting strangely. As tempting as the older man was, Mo Xuanyu was too excited to see his new empire to stay in bed longer.

So he scoffed and removed Lan Wangji's arm from his waist and said "Don't be so clingy, Hangung-Jun. I have better things to do."

The way Hangung-Jun's eye snapped open and locked on him made him realize that he had just made a mistake.

WWX dies after Sunshot Campaign Reputation Intact AU

Playing fast and loose with the timeline a bit, bear with me here.

It's almost perfect the Sunshot Campaign has ended, Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian have returned to Lotus Pier.

Wei Wuxian sits outside overlooking the lake waving Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli off to bed to moonwatch a bit longer.

In the morning they find Wei Ying asleep in the same place they left him last night. Exasperated good humor fades into horror as they realise their brother isn't breathing anymore and had passed peacefully away in his sleep with a soft smile.

Visitors including the Lan, are turned away from Lotus Pier as Jiang Cheng checks that it wasn't a assassination. (it's not, Wei Wuxian body literally gave out on him because of the immense strain the Sunshot Campaign put him under).

The funeral is held privately at Lotus Pier and Wei Wuxian's tablet is added to the Family Shrine.

The first the Cultivation World learns of Wei Wuxian's death is at the Phoenix Mountain Hunt when Jin Zixun callously asks why the Jiang Sect are still wearing mourning attire and Jiang Yanli replies in front of every Cultivator at the hunt that the Jiang Sect is in mourning for the death of Wei Wuxian.

(Wen Qing encounters Lan Wangji and learns that Wei Wuxian is dead. Lan Wangji overhears her muttering that its her fault and pressures her for a answer. A answer she won't give unless Lan Wangji helps her rescue her brother Wen Ning...)

Wei Wuxian returns to a world that knows of his sacrifice (A concept that gives him hives) a brother ready to either whip him or hug him and Jiang Yanli and her husband Nie Huisang who both want him to investigate the truth behind the murder of Nie Mingjue and Jin Zixuan and expose Jin Guangyao.

Because ironically Wei Wuxian has the best reputation of the lot of them having died a hero and willingly endured a Golden Core Transfer Surgery as the donor. Lan Wangji's reputation took a nosedive when he rescued the Wen Remnants and barely survived the Propaganda storm of rumors by the Jin for opposing them by going into seclusion.

In those AU's where WWX allows himself to be purified to death by the Lan its often by LWJ who thinks he's helping and WQ knows beforehand, Here WWX is suicidal and has decided to make his death mean something.

What if WWX agreed to be purged of resentment in return for granting the Wen Remnants sanctuary then fully informed the Lan of what cleansing entailed? The Elders don't believe WWX because he's still agreed to undergo cleansing and they don't realise WWX is actively suicidal instead of lying. LWJ is conflicted regarding the issue and LXC steps in to perform Cleansing also sure that WWX is exaggerating, he's not exaggerating. How would the Lans react knowing that they assisted in WWXs suicide. How would WQ react after WWX lied to her about the the Lans requirements to take in the Wen Remnants, not knowing that he'd tricked them into killing him thereby forcing the Lans to take in the Wen Remnants and protect them out of duty and guilt at accepting such a twisted agreement.

I like this one.

Lan Wangji was really the only one who unquestioningly believed Wei Wuxian when he told him that the ritual would likely kill him. He was immediately telling Lan Xichen that they needed to make a new deal and find a different condition to take in the Wens because he wasn't willing to risk Wei Wuxian's life. Lan Xichen speaks to the elders and they all convince him that this was just the Yilling Patriarch trying to weasel out of being purified and purged of the resentful energy that makes him so powerful. Lan Xichen believes the elders and doesn't trust Wei Wuxian but he does have a talk with him to try appeasing Lan Wangji.

During their talk Wei Wuxian sort of nonchalantly says 'yeah the chances of me dying are super high but if this is what the Lan clan wants then so be it' and Lan Xichen is like 'ok I'm still pretty sure your lying because no one would be this casual with their life so this is a go, but Wangji won't be happy about it.'

Wangji is Very unhappy about it. He tries to stop the ritual and fights a lot of his own clan before he is subdued and dragged away for his own punishment. Wei Wuxian feels super guilty and regrets telling Lan Wangji.

The ritual happens and Wei Wuxian ends up very very dead. Lan Xichen has a crisis because 1) he just killed a man, 2) he was warned that his actions would cause this, 3) he kneeling chose to ignore these warnings, and 4) that man happens to be the love of his brothers life. Some of the Lan elders try to argue that Wei Wuxian tricked them so they shouldn't have to fill their end of the agreement and take the Wens in but Lan Xichen shuts that down fast.

Lan Wangji is told that Wei Wuxian is dead and his heart breaks. Lan Xichen begs for forgiveness but Wangji isn't really in a forgiving mood. He ensures Wei Wuxian has a proper burial and goes into seclusion, planning to stay there for the rest of his life.

Lan Xichen stared at the boy—the man his brother loved and found Wei Wuxian look at their captive like all the vile comments he was spewing were beneath his notice. He sounded bored of them, his expression not dissimilar to the one he used to wear at the Cloud Recesses, paying no attention to Lan Qiren’s lectures. This only seemed to enrage the Wen General more as he shouted, not stopping even when Jiang Wanyin demanded he ceased his lying. If not for the silencing talismans in the room, drawn by Wei Wuxian, quicker with his blood than anyone could procure ink, you’d be able to hear it at the other end of the camp.

Lan Xichen isn’t sure how to take control of the situation again. He’d gone because they needed someone to play Inquiry in case the prisoner died, Jiang Wanyin was there as the Jiang had long since staked claim on every Wen from Wen Chao’s posse, their blood was Yunmeng Jiang’s right to spill. Nie Mingjue could hardly be left out of the interrogation of such a high-ranking Wen soldier and excluding the Jin, even when Jin Zixuan looked like he might lose his breakfast any moment now, was a political nightmare waiting to happen.

And yet, the nightmare happened anyway, Wei Wuxian standing impassively as the soldier spoke of acts so depraved that Lan Xichen wished they were nothing but a taunt.

“Are you done?” Wei Wuxian interrupted finally.

He moved past his sect leader, hardly seemed to notice Jiang Wanyin at all, even when his martial brother reached for him. It was, Lan Xichen realized, as if none of them seemed to be there for Wei Wuxian. In the corner of the room, a shadow flashed red. It had to be one of Wei Wuxian’s brides, they never strayed far from their master, even when unseen. It should disturb Lan Xichen that even at the camps they surrounded by barriers, Wei Wuxian’s ghosts slipped in and out and yet—

“You’re nothing but Wen Chao’s whore, good for a quick fuck—”

The soldier hadn’t finished his sentence before the bride in red had her hand to his throat, bloody fingernails digging into his throat, squeezing it just hard enough to leave the man choking.

“I asked if you’re done,” Wei Wuxian repeated, his voice lacking all inflection. “Where are your troops stationed?”

“You—”

The bride in red squeezed harder before letting go of the man’s throat to pull his head back by his short hair. She grinned, teeth as sharp as blades, looking proud of herself, like a child endearing herself to her mother, waiting for Wei Wuxian’s benign approval of her actions.

The soldier spat at their feet. “You won’t be able to stop them, boy. You’ll be left begging again.”

Wei Wuxian tilted his head. “I didn’t beg then, I had no need to, unlike your Master when I tore him apart.”

Lan Xichen hadn’t been present for Wen Chao’s murder, but the stories following his execution hadn’t been kind. If even the least of the brutalities the soldier had tossed at them was true, it was understandable why Wei Wuxian would’ve lashed out so much at Wen Chao, if it was not just to avenge his sect, but also the hurt dealt to him personally.

“Besides,” Wei Wuxian continued, seemingly unbothered. “All Wen Chao did to me? Do you think the dead did any less? They repaid any hurt twice over and I told you what I’d do to you when I returned.”

And then, the soldier’s eyes widened. He wasn’t given the chance speak as the bride in red plunged her hand into his throat, effortlessly ripping it out. The solider choked, once, then drowned in his own blood.

“Be good and quiet now,” Wei Wuxian said, sounding faintly as if he were echoing another’s words. “Your screams are ruining my mood.”

The soldier’s corpse dropped to the ground and Wei Wuxian’s bride left it to return to her master’s side, handing off him like one would imagine a living bride, clinging to… not her husband. Someone she’d be less shy around. A sister perhaps, someone who might have understood.

“Wei Wuxian—”

Jiang Wanyin reached out, but when his hand touched Wei Wuxian’s shoulder, the other man pushed him away. His eyes widened and, though Lan Xichen hadn’t realized it before, it was as if a fog cleared in them. Wei Wuxian’s gaze drifted to the corpse he’d left behind and all neutrality of before washed away by pure horror. He took a step back, then another, a next one, and rushed from the room in a panic.

Jiang Wanyin didn’t even hesitate, chasing after his martial brother without another look at the slaughter behind him.

“Xichen?”

Lan Xichen tore himself from the empty hallway and faced Nie Mingjue. “I’ll play Inquiry,” Lan Xichen said and settled on interrogating the spirit. It hadn’t been torn apart, though had Wei Wuxian thought of it, perhaps he would’ve done it.

Out of respect for the Jiang Head Disciple, Lan Xichen never allowed himself to ask, is it true? All you did to Wei Wuxian?

It wasn’t for him to know.

Wen Qing as ghost general.

It's alright, even my heart fluttered but imagine how different the plot would get, ohhh and golden core reveal scene, and how she'll be able to save more lives with her medicine and knowledge (because she'll live, kinda ), how it'll politically make it difficult for people to fear and hate the ghost general who treats people as well, the possibilities are endless.

Maybe they'll get a grip to shut up Jin clan because their sect leader is dying of illness (shush) and they need their help because she's best in her job (even if her corpse fingers are stiff to perform surgery, her knowledge is priceless), and the hundred hole curse thing as well, like she successfully performed a one of it's first and only golden core transfer surgery with her own knowledge alone in unsuitable environment, she's a mad woman. Damn.

All this would be difficult to attempt in canon because her life would very much be in mortal danger but as a ghost general, she can easily hand ass back roasted. Her knowledge and strength in exchange of her life (she burns to death, maybe the Jin clan were fearful of Wei Ying finding her corpse and turning her into a fierce corpse as well and how bad it would get for them because they acknowledge her talent and fierce personality)

Wen Ning would be eternal cinnamon roll who'll get to have memories with A-Yuan and maybe life would be a bit kinder to him with feared ghost general also well known doctor as old sis and the most powerful yilling patriarch keeping him safe from war, ofc few things can't be avoided but the possibilities.

At this point, WWX has cut himself off from the force after going darkside during the war. WWX is with the Wens in the burial mounds, a force null part of the planet Yilling, which helps in disguising whats left of WWX’s force signature, as well as Wen Qing’s and A-Yuan’s signatures since they are both force sensitive.

Wen Qing uses her force sensitivity to force heal people, which is a very rare technique and nearly impossible for many people as they didn’t learn to control their power enough to not take from their life force as they heal someone else. A-Yuan is young enough to begin learning to be a Jedi if he wishes, but he doesn’t have much power since he was never trained.

LWJ is looking for WWX, but according to his sect he is looking for and eliminating any Wen Empire military remnants, as well as helping the victims of the war find the nearest relief efforts. He isn’t supposed to take his helmet off but Wei Ying always makes him want to break the rules whether or not if he’s nearby

Jiang Cheng Yilling patriarch

What if Jiang Cheng will see the future, while study in Gusu. Firstly he doesn't paid attention to it and thought it was only dreams, but with a little time he understood that it was more than a silly dreams. Things happening exactly like in his dreams, made him believe that it was visions of the future. With realization came anger and frustration how things worked out in the future and he decides to change it.

He understands even knowing the future can't help them to win a war against Wen clan. Even if hr tried to warn others no one would believed him and he understood that they needed black cultivator to win a war. But he didn't want Wei Ying to go through that path again and decides to became Yiling patriarch himself. From his future memories he learns that he was figthing demon cultivators and you can't fight anything if you can't understand its powers. He discovers that he knew pretty much about the demon cutivation and starts ro train it secretly from anyone, slowly preparing for a war. Also he started to paing attention to people around him and comparing them to their future selfs. How much war and time changes all of them. In his visions he saw how rough the future was with Lan Xichen and how it broke this perfect man. Jiang Cheng promised himself, that he would never let Meng Yao stain the first jade with his lies and betreyal.

(In few fics I have read that Jiang Cheng was the best curse breaker and I like that idea)

After Wei Wuxian was sent back in Lotus Pier, Jiang Cheng continiues practicing devil cultivation more intensively. He understands how this cultivation affects mind and he is searching the ways to cultivate it the safest way possible. He is doing research about it in Gusu library and occasionally came across with Lan Xichen and they have small sweet talks. After every this meeting Jiang Xhengs dedication grows stronger to save Xichen-ge from his future. The information he can get from the library is not enough he needs to get in restricted sections. From his visions he remembers that soon in cloud recesses Lan Xichen will return with one of their sect member cursed during night hunt. No one will break that curse and he will die. In about 2-3 weeks it happens as Jiang Cheng predicted and he is determined to make a deal with Xichen-ge.

Once elders and healers done everything they could to save this members life, but could not lift the curse, Jiang Cheng gets to the Lan Xichen and tells him that he knows about the cursed member and he knows how to save his life, but Xichen shouldn't ask any question how he knows it and shouldn't tell anyone about it. Lan huan trusts him and at night brings him to the cursed person. Jiang Cheng lifts the curse. After this event he tells Xichen that he practices this curse breaking in secret from everyone and he don't want to someone know unless he perfects it and asks it to be their little secret. And about the cursed member he overheard some disciples takling about it. Soon after he asks Lan Xichen if he can grant him premission to enter restricted section, so he could make more research on his curse breking technique( at some point it was not a lie,cause he planned to research in that direction also).

Lan Xichen notices that something is going on with Jiang Cheng. He feels like the boy get 30 years older overnight. He has been observing the boys, from the moment he noticed his brother's interest in Wei In. He noticed that Jiang Cheng was hot tempered, not like he was a bad person, but this trait of his worked no good for him and most of the people didn't notice how hardworking he was. They only saw his anger and rage, mostly overlook how passionate he was and how deeply loving. Despite having all this traits the boy recently felt somehow mature. He noticed that recently Wanyin would get lost in his thoughts so much, that even Wei ins teasing didn't rile him up. Sometimes he noticed this sad expression on his face, almost like he was feeling guilty. Sometimes he has so determined expression, like he was going to carry all worlds weight on his shoulders. This sudden change of a young man make curious. The last drop was Jiang Cheng's ability of breaking the curse. He was looking at him long enough to notice, when he was lying and when Jiang Cheng was explaining to him how he knew about the cursed member, the boy was lying. This incident heat up his interest about the situation. He wanted to know the truth behind it, but was too polite to ask and confront him directly without having evidence. This was a main reason he granted a permission to the boy to enter the restricted section.

After this incident two of them starts somehow getting closer. They meet each other in the library quite often and

Wei Wuxian was found in yilling by the lesser branch of the wen clans, barely clinging to the intergraty of the overbearing Wen Clan. They were almost ostracised and left to fend for themselves.

Under Wen Qing and Wen Ning, both younger siblings aimed to make their circumstances better, until fourth uncle brought in their new ward from the street.

These three became siblings and grew up together and Wei Wuxian was able to bring attention to the smaller branch of the clan by his sheer talent.

With a strong golden care and talent in archery that can rival any other gathers the attention of Wen Ruohan.

Wei Wexian was a promising disciple, he climbed the ranks and even gained the trust to Wen Ruohans projects of trying to control a beast core. The Wen clan leader even encouraged Wei Wuxians obsession with Demonic Cultivation. He even trusted Wei Wuxian to go on the retreat hosted by the Lan clan along with the other sects, Wen ning, Wen Qing and his son were pretty much only there as ordered, while Wei Wuxian was tasked to memorise everything about Cloud Recess for a future attack and to get any information and closley kept secrets of the Lans sect.

He was Wen Ruohans most trusted spy.

Because of his demonic cultivation, Wei Ying was able to push most of the limits, one such ability was able to gain insight into the future he calls Demonic cultivation. He hops onto his own soul and projects insight to his future self and saw what would happen if he followed Wen Ruohan blindly.

He saw his future, the burial mounds, the desturction of the Wens including his maritial siblings deaths and strangely, the attention of Lan wangi kissing him blind-folded?

It shocked him out of the divination and he puked blood, resentment energy has a temperment on the body. Wei Wuxian needed a plan.

His Master would fall to the hands of a spy. Yao Guangyao.

He could easily take his place, Yao Guangyao would destroy all of the sects, and weaken them just to save his own reputation. He could take his place and his own plot. But unlike Yao Guangyao he had people to protect, the wens.

And his future they all discriminated against the Wens even after and were overally cruel to his branch that raised him along with his maritial siblings.

It's what drew him to demonic cultivation and tainted his own core to protect his own. He's going to have to be different...

If he starts with Lotus Pier and has the Wens stationed to protect them he could barter to be the man to create the supservery office instead of Wen Ruohans useless son to escalate things.

Lotus pier would be the base that could turn the tide against Wen Ruohan.

He bit his lip, it would be too late for Cloud recess but he'd already given the information by now.

Working as a spy, killing Yao Guangyao after he freed Lan Xichen and working as the spy giving intel to the Sects. It was working smoothley...too Smoothly.

It wasn't until he worked with Golden core-melting hand and accidently experimented with Demonic Cultivation trying to broaden the generals 'range' he purposfully inverted the wave destroying the general in the process.

Wei Wuxian was getting away with too many mistakes and Wen Ruohan had lost his patience. He attacked Wei Wuxian who barely escaped with his life and had Xue Yang [who previously worked with Yao Guang] to take over Wei Yings work.

Beaten blodied and blue he crawled towards yilling, he had to get to Lotus Pier and warn them he collapsed pulling his robes together and it began to rain and rolled his eyes skyward.

He was so unlucky no matter which life he was in!

Until the rain stopped, he opened his eyes and balked to see Lan Zhan staring down at him coldly.

Wei Ying opened his mouth then shut it.

If the second jade could help him get to lotus pier then he could turn this around.

AU in which all Cultivators come back in time shortly before the start of the Sun shot Campaign. It happens ten years after the death of the Yilling Patriarch. Or, how the 5 Great sects fares in the face of an upcoming conflict, armed with foresight of the Sunshot Campaign and what was to come afterwards. + The Dafan Wens. __ 1. Wen Ruohan murders both Wen Chao and Wen Zhuilu, and offers their severed head to the Jiang sect leader in order to negotiate a Pact of Non-Aggression, unaware that Wei Wuxian has been banished. Then he slaughters them up to the last one, when he learns he has been duped. __ 2. Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan have mixed opinions about their first disciple. On one hand, they were told he has been a powerhouse, and the main force behind the Sunshot Campaign. On the other, he apparently brought the ire of the World with his actions afterwards. He also has no memories of the War, as if he came back just after Jiang Cheng’s golden core was restored. Finally their son, with whom he was always attached to the hip, suggests that it is better for all parties involved if he leaves. __ 3. Jin Guangyao, hunted down by both his father and Wen Ruohan, seeks asylum in Gusu Lan. Xichen grants it. Then the Nie breaks their alliance and decades of friendship, on the ground that the Lans conspired to kill their sect leader. The Collection of Turmoil is mentioned, so do accusations about Jin Rusong’s murder (courtesy of Qin Su), and questions about the true involvement of the Lan sect start to emerge. These are ill news, especially since Gusu needs the support of all of their allies in the incoming conflict. In the end, Xichen looses support, Lan Wangji disappears, leaving only a white ribbon behind to look for Wei Wuxian, and the Lan sect succumbs to internal conflicts. __ 4. The Jins were in a precarious position. That son of a prostitute lent them in hot waters with both the Nie and the Wens, and they couldn’t help but feel as if their days were numbered. The World remembered they played both sides against the middle, (and came out on top), so unsurprisingly they lost the support of most of their allies once they came back. They still tried to restore their image by leading the Sunshot Campaign, this time around, however their inexperience in battle and inaptitude to lead showed, and they suffered heavy losses. (Jin Zixun was the first to die under a Wen blade. Most of the sect followed.) Gone were the Glory Days of the Jin sect. __ 5. Unstoppable, the Wens took one sect after the others. The Sunshot Campaign was nipped in the bud, and desperate the Cultivation World tried to look for the Yilling Patriarch as a last resort. Some in hope he’d even out the scales. Others for his favour and his protection. He was unfortunately nowhere to be found. But Nie Huaisang persevered. He knew they wouldn’t manage to win this War on their own, despite his brother’s insistence to count on no one else.

5. hi! gosh, i have had this fic stuck in my head for the past weeks but for the life of me, i just cannot remember the name. i really hope you can help me find it!

the fic is about how modern wei wuxian is a researcher/scientist and he got his hands on a shady book written by baoshan sanren, accidentally triggers a talisman/array and somehow being transported into the wuxia version and it involves the people who died coming back to life and they all watch/read the past and it just sort of becomes one big therapy session.

In there, everytime they are punished, Wen Ning and Wen Yuan help them to make the punishment lighter. Sometimes they warned Jin Ling, Lan Jingyi, and other junior everytime other wen sect member (the one that didnt hesitate to punush them harshly) nearby. I think Wen Qing too help everytime the punishment is so harsh that caused injury, she make them stay in infirmary where they are safe

Headcannon idea: Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian fight for Lan Sizhui's place as sect leader of the Lan sect as many reject and disagree because of his "Wen" background.

HC for Lan Sizhui becoming Sect Leader

When Lan Xichen enters seclusion after the events of Jin Guangyao’s betrayal, there’s talk among the Lans. (That’s when you know it’s serious, as gossip is Forbidden in the Cloud Recesses.)

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying gold out hope that he’ll be able to overcome this new obstacle in his life, but as time wears on, it seems less and less likely.

After several years, Lan Xichen officially announces that, after much thought and meditation, he’s stepping down as Sect Leader and without any children of his own, he asks Wangji to take his place. His little brother has always been able to see what he couldn’t, weather it be Wei Ying’s good heart or Meng Yao’s deceitful one. He feels it best that a man with such perceptions and strong morals lead their sect back from his “disgrace”.

While that’s all well and good, the elders are... well, old minded. Many of them were present to watch as the Wens burned their home to the ground and killed the last Sect Leader. And as a result, they’d rather spit blood and Qi deviate than see one of that bloodline take up a leadership position.

In the end though, they cannot stop it. Wei Wuxian is the husband of their new leader, bound by both Gusu laws and the heavens, and Lan Sizhui has been counted among their numbers for more years of his life than not. It doesn’t help that several other sects voice their good opinion on the young man.

They absolutely cannot refute it then even Jiang Wanyin, the fearsome Sandu ShengShou, who’s whole sect was razed down to the last soul, adamantly declares that Sizhui is a good choice, and that he’d be disappointed if the Lans would discriminate against one of their own simple because of a time the boy in question can hardly remember. (If he makes this declaration while thinking of how much better Lotus Pier was when Wei Wuxian was by his side, well, they don’t need to know that.)

His fathers leave the final desicion to him, and the boy gracefully accepts with a promise to do his best.

It’s still several years before the esteemed Hanguang-Jun steps down and his son assumes the responsibility of handling the Sect, but when he does, the young Sect Leader leads with grace and poise.

Jin Ling is beyond ecstatic to finally have another Sect Leader his age to complain to about the stuffiness and posturing of Sect meetings.

#I still haven't finished my trans!alphonse fic for fma... which I haven't touched in months #since my brain got stuck on the new hyperfixation of the untamed to be exact :P #but I already have three new ideas for fics and I've even started writing one of them because I got super inspired for it today #the one I've started writing is an AU where the cloud recesses is the one that gets obliterated and xichen's core gets melted #so wangji gets wen qing to transplant his core to his brother and then gets thrown into the burial mounds by wen chao #thus being the one who becomes the demonic cultivator and yilling laozu later on and just... how different and yet how similar would it be? #this story turns out slightly better than canon because wwx isn't as beholden but the rules of propriety as lwj is in the actual canon #so he gets to help lwj earlier and better. also because jc is in a much better position here so wwx can rope him into supporting the lans #and I am THRILLED to really get into the grotesque tainting of Hanguang-Jun's pristine monolith of noble perfection :D #I will call it a win if I finish it because it's aiming to be a really long fic and my track record of actually fucking writing is... yikes #another idea for a fic is one that's set during the years of wwx's death where lwj and jc go from hatred to tolerance to reluctant #companionship to eventually realising that holy shit they're actual friends for real¿? #all through the power of being single parents who don't really know what they're doing and take their kids to playdates on the bunny field #with a generous helping of sharing their contempt for cultivation society in general and sect leader yao's stupid mouth specifically #and an extra of nightmares!!! and guilt!!! and missing the war criminal everyone hates!! and shared grief that no one undestands but them!! #and yeah wwx is very shocked but also very delighted when he comes back and suddenly his brother and his boyfriend are bffs¿? #and much better adjusted than when he left them because they've worked through their trauma together surprisingly well¿? #and he's even told his son is alive straight away!!!!! yay!!!!! :D #and the third fic idea is about wen qing and jiang yanli falling in love during the time they're hiding after the attack on lotus pier #and so wq insisting that she's not gonna do shit until wwx has run his stupid self-sacrificing idea by his sister first #and so wwx tells jy and she's like ''a-xian you beloved idiot that's a terrible idea and not happening ever'' #''why don't *I* donate my core to a-cheng since our parents neglected my education so much that it's wasted on me?'' #and of course then wwx is like ''but shijie nooooooooo you can't the predicted success rate is only 50% and you're too good for that'' #and jc has also been told at this point because jy insisted he has to know and offered him her core as well #and obviously jc also strongly disagress but in the end jy prevails through her magical older sister souperpowers (pun intentional) #and through reasoning that it's best for their very decimated sect for the two competent cultivators to be the ones with golden cores #since she doesn't really have much use for hers anyway because sexism and disinterest and other stuff #and so they do the transfer and jy protects wq and wn through the war and beyond and she forgets about the peacock when she sees what it's #like to be treated as she fucking deserves. and at the end of the war she and wq get married and cut off jin guangshan's balls or sth idk #and everything is good and happy and beautiful through the power of femslash!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
