he's from an original setting called New Riviera where some people (called Undyings) can come back from the dead. he's an ex police detective who was fired after discovering he was Undying himself. now he's planning to start a private eye business with his best friend and also leads an organized crime group with the other members of his polycule. and he's a bear.

so uh yeah. as someone who was a fan of wilbur soot for many, many years and has been continuing to follow his music career, i cant say that i am not absolutely fucking appalled and disgusted with whats come to light. genuinely i now just wish i had known what kind of person this was before i ever showed any support for them, and i can assure anyone wondering that any shred of respect i once might have held for the man is completely evaporated.

do you have any tips/advice for someone starting out with pixel art?

i just answered this ask recently for how i did it

as for some general tips...

blur tool is illegal (it really looks like you just Used The Blur Tool)

try not to use too many colours that that are really close together. if you can't tell the difference you may as well make them the same colour

start small IMO (100x100 canvas and under) so you can nail down the basics without getting overwhelmed

there are exceptions to all of these so dont take them as gospel, but it can help to give yourself limitations until you get more comfortable

try to find artists that you like and study how they do certain things! its super helpful. i always look on pixeljoint if i'm not sure how to draw or texture something

do you know when you're going to open your commissions again?

to answer theyre sorta open? theyre mostly just marked as closed bc i dont have enough example works for the updated winter commission sheet (as i update it every season ish) and also i have a lot of catching up work to do on the webcomic ive been illustrating which is my main focus for this january!

if you (or anyone else reading this) are interested in getting a commission done i do have a waiting list/slot openings, just feel free to dm me either here or on discord (@ate_some_rocks) and i can give you the updated prices so you can decide what you want/if my prices fit in ur budget! i cannot promise any finished commission work until at the very least february but i can totally dicuss future arrangements for it :O
