Chapter 133 notes

Right off the top, I'm going to gripe. I've waited months for this chapter and wanted more....alas we got a short chapter. I did find some interesting ideas popping up in the content.

Satan doesn't want to destroy the world.

Satan is the entity that all the other demon kings splintered from. We are starting to see his different personalities popping out. From what I reckon, he wants to stay in Assiah and cause trouble, not destroy it like Lucifer wants. Which aligns with Mephisto's ideals, no?

Also, he agrees with Rin. He hates the stripper outfit that Lucifer put him in. He looks ridiculous. (I've got a headcanon, that Mephisto designed the outfit and gave it to Shima to pass on to Lucifer. Knowing full well that it would piss Satan off.)

Does that mean that Satan can be reasoned with? What if he changed sides halfway through the battle and started attacking Lucifer?

I just don't get Big Bad vibes from Satan. I just don't.

Is he an asshole? Of course. Plus, he's rude and immature and has obvious impulse control issues. But...I'm just not convinced..

2) Thus far, Satan seems very interested in Rin.

Is it because Rin is a potential vessel for him, or is it because he's curious about his son? Is this how a demon king bonds with family? It's very dysfunctional, but maybe. (We've seen demon kings act like this before...I'm looking at you Amaimon.)

Just an aside, I wonder about the dynamic Satan has with Rin and Yukio. He doesn't consider Yukio his son at all.

Going back to previous theories, maybe Yukio isn't Satan's son.

if we believe that Yukio and Rin's bio-dad was Shiro. And that Rin was possessed by Satan in utero. That would make Rin Satan's son and Yukio the son of Shiro, only.

That would be something, right?

Shiro was the only person that could beat Satan, plus when Satan possessed Shiro, he had no control over his mind. Interesting...

I lifted this right from the Blue Exorcist Wiki...

"Under normal circumstances, the Demon is in control of the host body, however, the reverse can be put into practice as well. A human can force a Demon to possess them, allowing them to gain the Demon's powers while also remaining in control of their own body. A human who does this is known as a Demon Eater. The rule that the host body must be strong enough to handle the Demon's power still applies."

We know Yukio is immune to Rin's flames and Satan's flames. He takes after his mother. If Yukio's mind is strong enough to resist Satan like Shiro. Yukio could either be the saviour of Assiah or the new BIG BAD. The fact that Yukio is so power-hungry, has me wondering. Plus, he's so intelligent....he'd be a way worse Satan than Satan ever could hope to be.

This isn't the final battle, maybe that battle involves Rin vs Yukio?

3) Why is Satan causing so much shit?

He's bored.

What does this sound like? Amaimon. Right now Satan is playing with Rin, just like Amaimon. Testing to see how powerful he is. We can see the benefits of Mephisto's unorthodox training here, sparring with Amaimon gives Rin an edge. He has an understanding of his opponent.

4) Arc Knights are as strong as some demon kings.

Helluva detail to drop this late in the game. But okay.

The arc knights are stronger than the lower-level demon kings. Lucy is stronger than Beez.

This makes sense.

We know that Shura was only an inspector at the beginning of the manga but Amaimon didn't want to mess with her. The possibility of not winning was a reality.

Here we have Lucy conjuring a massive dragon. Heilong, which is kin of Armumahel.

Why are the arc knights powerful? Because they have demon support of some kind. A super-strong temptaint and the skills to use it.

Angel has Lucifer

Osceola seems to use fire in his arms so Iblis?

Drac Dragulescu? This one I'm not sure about this one. His superpower is what? Science? But he also makes zombies. Is his patron demon Mephisto? Who is kin with death and time?

Hiya! This isn’t really a question, but your theory about Takaras parents, I saw it on someone else’s reblog earlier. Maybe it seems like it’s far fetched, but I feel like out of all the theories I’ve seen recently, there’s an overwhelming heap of evidence to back it up! I think there’s a good reason we have come so far into the story, yet we still have no clue who takara is. And wouldn’t it be whack to see Mephisto use his powers in such a way as to bring in a kid of two extremely powerful exorcists back to either help, or do his dirty work. Who even knows at this point. But you’re definitely right. He looks exactly like shura, and Yukio for that matter. Let’s say his resting bitch face is basically the same as Yukios lol. It’s crazy because I never would have put two and two together if I haven’t seen your post. Also the fact that there has been quite a lot of hints here and there that Yukio and shura will eventually have a relationship, whether it be tomorrow or in 10 years, and if they were to have a child, well - I think it would look pretty damn close to what Nemu looks like. And also the chances of Mephisto being involved in something like that I think are pretty high, like you mentioned - there’s a whirlwind of reasons for him to do it. Anyway I just wanted to say, the theory is whack, but if it is actually true I wouldn’t be surprised at all! I think we will find out who he is right at the end, and it’ll be a major plot twist. Anyway, keep up the great posts!

When I was putting that theory together, I was wincing! But It does seem to fit so well. I keep thinking, if Mephisto is the time god, we need to enlarge the AnE universe to include the future. When I did that...I was like...oh! wait a second. Well, this is uncomfortable!

We also see that Mephisto is dabbling this entire time by mixing different demon characteristics into his own little army of super soldiers. I think that Takara has sooo many different powers. He’s Mephisto, Azazel, Satan...

He’s the ultimate Mephisto-created weapon. Rin isn’t the superweapon, it’s Takara.

I took another gander at the theory I wrote, and I noticed one more little hint that Takara is related to Yukio. 

Remember when Shima attacks Takara and opens his eye? Doesn’t that defensive power remind you of Satan defending Yuri? Same thing with RIn and Yukio. Yukio has the same Satan defence mechanism as Takara. Oh..man. Takara so Yukio and Shura’s kid.

Man, the More i hear this theory, the more i believe it! You’re not crazy, all of this makes total sense, so much sense it’s hard to believe 😂 because it makes sense. And it’s probably true.

Takara’s parents

Okay this is a crazy crack theory. It probably falls into a fanfic fever dream but here goes. I’ve posted about this before, but have more ideas.

Takara is from the future.

His mom is Shura and his father is Yukio. Now before we start with the “eww gross” stuff. I gave it some thought. Mephisto is going to possess Shura at some point. It only makes sense that she inherits some of his time powers, or gets her hands on the kamakushi key and tries out time travel.

What if Shura gets curious, goes to the future and has a relationship with adult Yukio. Maybe, like Mephisto, she doesn’t age?

Anyway…(it’s farfetched I know.)

But…Takara looks like Shura, he has similar features and reddish hair. 

Why are Takara’s eyes shut? (The Yukio connection)

Did he inherit a curse from his father (Yukio). Can Satan see out of his eyes? Is that why Mephisto has him sleeping in this entire timeline, so Satan doesn’t catch wind of Mephisto’s plans by spying through Takara? The same thing happened to Shiro, and is happening with Yukio. Did Takara inherit the same curse?

OR

Or does Yukio become a demon-eater and inherit a power so profound and powerful from Satan, that his son can obliterate the entire world if he opens his eyes?

Anyway…eyes for me are a direct link to Yukio.

(Mephisto connection)

Takara can conjure things like Mephisto, and Mephisto trusts Takara and uses him as a spy. He’s from an unknown third party and completely off the grid. That’s because Meph outsourced to the future. 

How did Takara inherit Mephisto’s powers? If Mephisto has a contract with Shura he would pass on his powers. Shura passes those powers on to her offspring. So technically Nemu is also kin of Mephisto. (which would make demon dad Mephisto and bio dad….Yukio) The kid has links to the Takara corporation that Mephisto owns and access to an unlimited bank account. He spends a million dollars on a puppet in the Inari arc.

 Mephisto must really like the kid to give him access to that kind of coin. He barely gave Rin and Yukio enough allowance to buy lunch!

AZAZEL CONNECTION

This could all just be conjecture. But Takara can talk to spirits and can also have discussions with kin of Azazel. The kin of Azazel seem pretty loyal to certain families and i’m thinking they will only work for other kin of Azazel. Izumo’s familiars (kin of Azazel) will only work for the Kamiki family. 

This is why when Lightning sends his familiars to help Yukio, they have no problem working for Yukio. They recognize him as kin of Azazel. (which makes sense, sort of because Yukio’s bio-dad material is an Azazel. From the clone of either from Satan or Shiro. Lightning is the self-proclaimed grandson of Azazel and most likely related to Rin and Yukio through cloning experiments in section 13. 

Mephisto actually calls the birth of Rin and Yukio “operation blue lightning” which is so obvious its ridiculous. Lightning was his first successful experiment which was followed by Rin and Yukio, Lightning plus blue flames.

Anyway where am I going with this? Takara inherited Azazel powers from Yukio.

And yeah, I definitely CAN see Mephisto doing this. And part of me hopes so. Big bad Mephisto, I hate it (I love it). A time traveling Yukio, I can also see.

So, if Mephisto turns out to be the big bad. He’s probably going to need a new body. I’m convinced Shura might be that body. 

Mephisto is probably going to use Shura’s attachments to Rin and Yukio as leverage. Leverage to get Shura to a sign demon contract with him. Once that happens she belongs to Mephisto. Just like Shiro, that poor sod that came before her.

Shura’s a perfect vessel for Mephisto with a stong body and the ability to take on the powers of powerful demons, plus she has an empty demon sword that can be used as an additional horcrux for Mephisto. He’s already gifted her some sort of magical scabbard and put her in charge of his duties. So it’s already in the works.

But why else would Mephisto choose Shura?

Rin and Yukio could never hurt her.

If Mephisto possessed Shura the boys couldn’t bring themselves to destroy him. Yukio is secretly (or not so secretly) in love with Shura romantically and Rin treats her more like a big sister. A big sister he’s willing to fight to the death for.  

Mephisto wants to develop these complex emotions between Shura and the boys for his own protection. He’s not stupid.

I thought for the longest time he’s using love to save Rin and Yukio. Setting up situations to make Shura feel love for the boys so she will help protect them.  But what if his motivations are much, much darker.

Even though Meph is my favourite character, i’m fully believe him capable of a wide range of distasteful things. The Mephisto/Shura thing could end quite poorly.  What if he’s using love against her to protect himself and protect his legacy in Assiah.

Totally possible.

(CRACK THEORY)

Who shot Mephisto?

YUKIO DID?

Yukio knows all about the Kamakushi key, not only that but he’s trigger happy. When Yukio gets angry he shoots stuff. Maybe he shot Mephisto out of pure spite and out of revenge for everything he did to them. Mephisto fully expected Yukio to shoot him the first time, but somebody beat him to it.

But was it Yukio from the future?

 Mephisto is surprised, it hasn’t happened before. That being said….it was the shooter he intended. Just from a different timeline. 

Honestly Mephisto shouldn’t be surprised at all. He’s a bastard. Yukio probably felt a lot of gratification from making the shot.

SO WHAT ELSE MAKES MEPHISTO THE BIG BAD?

HE WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO WIN.

Once he gets rid of Lucifer and Satan, he can rule over Assiah.

1) Mephisto knew Satan would show up in Assiah when he created section 13. Maybe not at first, but once it happened he had multiple opportunities to change the timeline and rid himself of Satan.

But Mephisto didn’t…

Instead he continued with the macabre and morally destitute experiments.  He needed a force stronger than himself to take out Lucifer. Satan showing up in Assiah was great timing. Satan was his trump card, Mephisto just needs to trick him. (he’s working on that side hustle.)  

On top of that, Mephisto created himself an army of clone exorcists (Shiro, Angel, Abel and probably Lightning). All of these creations are pawns in his game. He wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to sacrifice them. (Luckily Lightning is cunning and just as morally destitute as Mephisto. That might save his ass.)

(Plus, remember Yuri and Shemihaza? They give Lucifer and Satan shit for wanting to kill things in cold blood and choosing who lives and dies. Yet, Mephisto isn’t innocent either. The blood isn’t literally on his hands, but he’s still the ringmaster. He’s no better, honestly. I guess you could say he’s just trying to survive and defeat Lucifer for the greater good. That his sacrifices are justified….but still, Mephisto is capable of some seriously evil shit.

Other Shitty things Mephisto has done.

2) Mephisto manipulates Shiro, Yuri and Satan into some sort of love triangle to make Rin and Yukio. The failsafe to get rid of Satan when he was done with him. (I don’t know how it exactly went down…but I know he orchestrated it.)

3) Yuri had to go through that horrible birthing process to give birth to Rin and Yukio and then she died in the end. Yuri’s entire situation was tragic and horrible. 

4) Mephisto knew the blue night would happen and hundreds of people would be killed.

5) Mephisto got Rin and Yukio to free Shura from Hachiro’s curse, only to enslave her to himself. That’s so low. 

6) Mephisto adopted Izumo’s sister to takara corp’s CEO and she doesn’t remember her. 

7) Mephisto is the director of a religious school and gave Shima pornography. (Okay…this one does make me laugh.)

8) Mephisto tricked Shiro on more than one occasion. Like..doesn’t this woman look like him? If Meph decided to tranform into a hot woman…this would be her.

I GOT MY ACCOUNT BACK! Sorry guys! My app decided to fart for the past couple of months....

Anyway! Let’s talk about Yukio‘s weight! Did you know he’s gained almost 6 kilos since the first volume? For roughly 1 year and a 16 year old, that’s HEAVY and fast weight gain, even for his height. We know and assume he’s been training of course, but hasn’t Rin too? And he’s lost weight since the first volume!

Yukio began weighing in at 70kg, he now weighs just over 75. (That’s heavier than Mephisto!) and 13kg heavier than Shiro! 14kg heavier than his brother...

Now in the normal world I wouldn’t say it’s insanely abnormal for a 16 old to weigh that much, although it still is. But we are talking about the manga world, where your average teenage girl weighs 45kg and your average teenage guy weighs between 50-60kg.

So in this world, let’s say that Yukio roughly weighs 15 kilo more than the average dude. And no one can tell me he isn’t currently looking visibly bigger and visibly older (much) than he was at the beginning.

So what are the options?

He could have worked out a lot, which I think he has, he’s a growing boy, which is normal. but does that explain it fully? I dunno.... 🤔

Satan?

What if the Illuminati had something to do with it?

Or even Hachiro? What if he did get something from him during Aomori?
