#rbing from sideblog just cause i need to gush about this podcast again #i had to take a spontaneous 3 hour road trip today so i was listening to an episode and there is such a tragically amazing whump scenario #where one character kiiinda got betrayed by his group of friends? #(the player was only there for a couple of episodes as he filled in for one of the group who was away for a bit #so they had been like 'yeah this character is going to join the group for a bit and you do know each other from years ago #and then we'll make a reason for this character to disappear at the end of the episode and then the regular player will be back next week' #and how they had this guest character disappear at the end of this short arc was to have him be arrested for stealing a cardboard cutout #(fucking hilarious tbh) but they'd set it up so that the bosses who wanted him arrested for stealing this cardboard cutout asked the group #to keep him distracted until they had the manacles that could hold him and so when their time together was winding down the bosses show up #and arrest him and hes knocked out and taken away and the groups kinda like wow ok did you have to knock him out ok bye buddy see you around #and then like 10 episodes later the group is finally leaving the carnival (that they spent 18 episodes in because of reasons) #and they go from one realm of the Feywild to another and hours later they are attacked by this friend who they had just kinda sorta betrayed #but hes feral and has stuff stuck under his skin and transformed into this mutated version of himself and doesnt recognize them #until they are able to subdue him and he shrinks back to his normal form and hes so relieved to see them all #to the group it's only been about 2-3 hours since they saw him in the other realm #but hes been in THIS realm and held captive and being experimented on for FIVE YEARS #and his memories of what has happened to him are garbled and he doesn't want to try to remember what happened because of the torture #and its just. god it makes me want to go feral myself #character dragged to another dimension where hes tortured and experimented on for YEARS when its only been mere hours for the rest of them #and he had the ticket from the carnival that they had been at together and he was like 'this is my only possession #i kept it and cherished it remembering our 'Guys Night' together and it gave me hope that i would see you guys again' #GAH HEARTBREAKING #I LOVE IT SO MUCH THOUGH #dumb little guy whos had a really bad time but also one of the funniest guys in the group = easy way to become my little blorbo #('little' is used loosely; this characters like 7 feet tall lmao) #*holds him in my teeth and starts to bite down* #mine now #(oh yeah and the quote in the post: only one of many fucking hilarious moments in this episode #because this was the first full episode that this character was back for the DM was like alright guys let's just get this character #comfortable being in the group again; go nuts' and nuts they went and it was glorious

#well damn took this a couple days ago and now I cant remember what I got #i know i tied and my two highest were like 70% #and one of them was barbarian #but not certain on the other #warlock i think? #i have played a warlock but it was just a one shot single session #can't remember that characters name sadly #but i built a barbarian for another campaign #only did one session (but i did get the first kill) so didnt get to use the things i was most excited for #my ex was dm'ing though and hes just generally insufferable in regards to dnd so kinda glad it didnt work out #my characters name was Brick though and had very low intelligence lmao #they were dumb as a brick but useful for throwing at enemies
