Herne the Hunter - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. Herne the Hunter is an ancient spirit that haunts Windsor Great Park, Berkshire, England. He haunts a particular tree, called Herne’s Oak, and terrorizes the woodland. He is known to have giant antlers on his head, and a sighting of him is believed to be evil omen. He is linked to Cerunnos, the horned God of Celtic mythology, but is a separate deity in his own right.

Beowulf - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. Probably the most famous and well-known Anglo Saxon poem, Beowulf. A brave warrior who fights monsters, is tasked with defeating Grendel and his mother. He defeats Grendel in a mead hall, and then seeks out the mother in her lair, and defeats her. Returning home as a king, Beowulf lives in peace for 50 years, until a dragon terrorizes his people. This monster would be Beowulf's last, as he succumbs to his wounds after killing the beast.

Yggdrasil, the Norse Tree of Life - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. Yggdrasil is the Norse Tree of Life. Odin himself used the tree for his gallows, sacrificing himself for the discovery of the runes. The Norse poets metaphorically describe the tree as the horse, and Odin its rider. The mighty tree holds together the nine worlds of Norse spiritual universe, and it's health directly affects the health of the universe.

The Viking longboat - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. The Viking longboat was a terrifying sight on the water. Carrying between 20 and 80 men, the longboats were excellent vessels on the seas and rivers, easily navigating shallow waters. This allowed the Vikings to travel deep into enemy lands, using the river networks, and catch the enemy by surprise. In 793 AD, Britain recorded the first Viking invasion at Lindisfarne, and Saxon England feared the Viking longboats for centuries after.

The Stag - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. The stag is a magnificent beast, often used in medieval heraldry. The symbol of the stag is used for those who are unwilling to attack enemies without provocation. They would rather stand their ground, that is, unless they are provoked. The antlers represent fortitude and strength.

The Shield Wall - a new design for my Redbubble store. Available on many products. A saxon or viking shield wall is a formidable confrontation. History tells stories of great battles being won or lost on the strength of the shield wall. Spears, swords, axes and seaxes were used alongside the shields, in what was essentially a terrifying pushing contest with weapons!
