This was supposed to be a sketch, an experiment in color jitter painting, but here we are. Inspired by Puparia by Shingo Tamagawa and the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone. Also, if you recognize the outfit Salem's wearing: Congratulations. You, too, have brainrot.

2024 Astarion Ancunín from Baldur's Gate 3.

He never knew he could miss the sun so much. Do you think it ever gets old? This was actually the first piece I did of Astarion, but I struggled to draw his face, so I took time off to study it and came back with a 2nd pass.

Also, the background came out pretty nice.

2024 Astarion Ancunín from Baldur's Gate 3.

Even before I played the game, I knew I would like him an OK Amount. Having now nearly 500 hrs in the game, I WAS RIGHT. I FELL HOOK, LINE AND SINKER.

This was an opportunity to try some new painting techniques, as well as dress Astarion up in a corset.

2023 Baptiste from @potionomicsgame Played through all of Potionomics earlier this month, and I didn’t expect to like Baptiste so much. Don’t let his charming smile deceive you; he is, in fact, Very Dumb (affectionate). This was meant to be a doodle, but failing that, became an opportunity to refine some painting techniques.

A small ThanZag comic my friend bribed me to do that I put a little too much effort into. Took the opportunity to experiment a little. Also, this wasn't intentional, but Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈 Some fun extra what-ifs, like what if the Narrator snitched on Than (he can't and he didn't), or what if Than began floating mid-hug.

Bonus background paints that I was pretty satisfied with.

2023 watercolor illustration of my character, Salem. Recently, I've finished binge reading all of Witch Hat Atelier so far, and felt inspired to draw a quick doodle in a similar style. It has been a long time since I've drawn an older Salem, much less painted in watercolor, so I'm moderately pleased by the result. Maybe I'll do more sometime. Also, go read Witch Hat Atelier.

In the spirit of Cecil Palmer's coronation as the Tumblr sexyman, I thought I'd reblog some old Welcome to Night Vale/Transistor AU art from 2014. Back then, WTNV meant so much to me and I got to see them live in 2016. Even now, it rests in a special place in my heart. This project especially means a lot to me, as it not only combines two of my old special interests, but saw a major improvement in my artistic abilities as a whole. 2022 fan art of Barok van Zieks from the Great Ace Attorney by Capcom.

Look, I like him a lot, okay?

So, since I couldn’t figure what to draw, I used him as painting practice. Personally, I think the cell, color jitter and Hades-styled ones came out the best. There’s something appealing about the the clearly defined colors and lines of the cell-shaded one. The color jitter combined with the paint over gives off a really nice Impressionistic painterly look. The Hades style is just fun. [styles in ALT] Also, bonus sketch:
