I lasted a year as a vegetarian and for the last 1.5 years I’ve happily been pescatarian. I also quit sugar again 3 weeks ago and lost 10lbs. Don’t let food distract you from your thoughts and unconsciously gain unhealthy weight.
In August 2011, I weighed 142lbs at 5’6, which was healthy. By August 2012, I weighed 231lbs. I became very sick gaining so much weight so fast, I got diagnosed with stage 3 GERD, I was prediabetic, and my legs were constantly in pain supporting all my additional weight they weren’t used to. I gained nearly 100lbs in a year because I was depressed and food gave me a little dopamine burst. Once I could start affording to buy my own food, it was fast food, soda, and sugar every night to my body’s detriment. After my GERD diagnosis (which felt like a constant heart attack at age 19) I decided to cut the fast food. That helped me get down to 208 for a while and I then remained dormant at that weight for 3.5 more years.
In February of 2016, I got accepted to a Masters program in a different state and I was going to be able to finally leave my toxic relationship of 5 years. I decided that was finally the time to become the me I wanted to be, so I started this blog at 205lbs and within 3 months of a strict 1200 calorie diet with a repeatable exercise regiment, I lost 20lbs and weighed in at 185 at my bachelors degree graduation ceremony at the end of May 2016. I moved to MA and stay at 185 for a while until I kicked myself back into gear because my original goal was 165. I reached that goal Feb 2017, 1 year after I started the journey at 205.
You know what they say, you tend to gain it back if you don’t change the lifestyle completely. And I didn’t. I’m an addict and as soon as I had a piece of candy and soda again, it was game over. I gained back the 30lbs over the last 5 years. So 3 weeks ago, at 190.8 I hopped back onto the wagon and quit sugar for good and all I drink is water, green tea, and black coffee. This morning I weighed in at 179.2. LETS GOOOOO

hi, this is not an excuse, but I am suffering from extremely severe depression and other mental health issues and I want to go vegan (I am vegetarian already) but I struggle to remember to eat anything at all let alone prepare anything complicated... Could you recommend some really simple /cheap meal plans that I can easily stick to? thank you so much if you have time
Hey! Don’t ever feel bad about where you are in your journey - of course mental health plays a factor in our daily capabilities. I’m already so proud you’re vegetarian - and you should be proud too!!! I hope this breakdown is helpful with both budget and meal ideas (they’re all customizebale and pretty simple!!)
I personally love granola and almond milk or avocado toast for breakfast, a salad/veggie sandwich wrap for lunch, and rice/pasta and veggies for dinner (or a veggie burger!)
Snacks I love: granola bars, nuts, dried mango, crackers with hummus 💖❤️💖❤️

It’s been 6 days with no artificial sugar. And I said no to so many delicious cookies yesterday! I’m back in the 180s omg. No fried foods, lots of water and tea. I’m excited because the first 7 days are the hardest.

I want to let the 6 of you who liked and reblogged this that today, November 8th, 2019, I consumed 0 sugar. I said no to candy and to drinks with sugar. I feel great about it, and I’m going to try to go for a two day streak.
I'm Dr. Fail and I'm addicted to sugar. My impulses took over and I bought a whole bag of cinnamon pretzels with icing after dinner for no reason! I ate 4 and for 30 minutes, I argued with my partner about how I shouldn't do that kind of stuff to my body. I am happy to say, I threw the rest of the bag out finally. I have to get better. I'm an addict, and I am open about it.

8/1: Not an official weigh in day, but I achieved three PRs today that I wanted to document. 50 situps in a row, 100lb rows (30 reps), 100lb tricep dips (30 reps)

I'm Dr. Fail and on 07/29, I weighed 189.0.
Check my new leggins and shirt :)
I added a marble to my lost jar, and my impulses took over and I spent like $300 this weekend on clothes, shoes, and sunglasses.
My eating habits were average. Sometimes healthy, sometimes not (my two huge slices of pep pizza today).
I broke personal records in the gym though! 90lbs tricep dips, maxed out 305lbs on both hip adductors and abductors, 150lb leg presses, 105lb bench, 35 situps in a row, and 70lb rows. Great week for fitness, BUT I did slow my role on running. I realize, I just don't think I'm that into running. I'd rather lift weights. We will see though, I did break my mile PR this month so maybe I will want to do it again.

7/22: I'm Dr. Fail and I'm feelin' myself a little bit :) I finally weighed in under 190, so I'm chillin' in the 180s now.
I didn't do as well with my eating habits this week. Ate McDonalds once, ate a new taco at BK, and I drank quite a bit. But I have not fallen off the wagon.
I have accustomed to generally eating a salad for lunch, a handful of blueberries as a snack, and then grilled chicken with some type of grain and greens for dinner.
I have to start drinking more water as I drink too much black coffee.
NSVs: My jeans felt more loose, my co-worker said she can see the weight loss in my face, and my boyfriend said he can tell I've lost weight as well :)
Anyway, I'm excited to see where I am at next week!
