Ok so to be honest when it comes to Mel I don’t really have any strong opinions on her and that’s probably because I didn’t really use her at all. To me she just exists, and I get that she is 1/3 people who can steal things from enemies but you also have Kid for that and when will you really have Mel and not Kid? Very little maybe but then you’ll have Fargo and I’m pretty sure both are better at everything else that’s important. I think I like her more than Korcha but overall I’m just neutral about her. She’s definitely one of the many playable characters in this game that could’ve just been an npc and have nothing really change.

Ok so going into Chrono Cross I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Korcha, and even though it’s been a hot minute since I’ve played the game now I feel I can say I’m pretty neutral if not maybe a little on the hate train for this guy. And that’s specifically for trying to act like Mr. Steal Your Girl with Kid when we all know he ain’t. I also remember picking the option where Kid kicks you for trying to get her to go along with it and yeah, that was deserved.

I also didn’t appreciate him bashing you for abandoning her when we were given a seemingly hopeless situation. Like what do you want me to do? I just met her and got told that she’s most likely gonna die from poison and the cure for it gone from this world locally and I can’t go and get the cure from the other place it could be. Also if we don’t try to save her she’s fine anyways and we get Glenn as a party member instead and is also way better at fighting than him.

BEHOLD I HAVE RETURNED AND WITH MORE CHRONO CROSS

Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, I’ve been busy with schoolwork and finals kicking my butt all semester. But I’m hoping now that I’ll have more time to post more and also different things.

Anyways, out of the 3 Viper Manor guides Guile is the one I chose first and is also one of my favorite characters in the game, I also think I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was because of the Chrono Trigger connections. Idk if I’ve ever mentioned it before but I actually played Trigger first and I would say it is tied with being my favorite game. So I also tried to include some of Magus’s design into Guile’s with the earring and amulet ( I also didn’t realize that the amulet is actually the big silver think on his hip and much bigger than a necklace before inking it).

Sorry for the long post. Tomorrow I know I’ll have something to post, it’s actually a present I’ve been working on for someone. And like I said before I also want to work on some art for other games and such too so it won’t just be Chrono stuff.

Finally got Nikki done today. I’ve only had the background to color left for awhile but procrastination along with school and sort of having an internal crisis about my art style were kinda distracting me. I’ve got a couple of doodles though from that so I think I’ll post them tomorrow because why not.

Also let me gush about this guy for a hot second. I went into this game for the first time knowing some of the main story beats and stuff surrounding Serge and Kid and other big stuff like that. But I knew next to nothing about all the other character’s stories and if I wasn’t such a fan of Chrono Trigger I would say I fully regret not picking Nikki as my first guide to Viper Manor. He has the most in game story and an interesting one at that, everything I learned about him in my first play through had my jaw dropping. I didn’t expect the family connections. I love his aesthetic, I kinda get cinnamon roll vibes from him, and he’s not half bad in battle, although I’ve only used him in New Game + but still.

There’s some other characters that I’ve come to really enjoy and also come to like less and also characters I’m kinda meh about unless I’ve missed more than I’ve thought (I haven’t really gone for all the endings). I’ll probably end up rambling about them too when their time comes. But for now I will say that Nikki is probably in my top 10 characters in this game.

Meant to post this earlier but I got Pierre done a couple days ago. I wasn’t entirely sure how to go about drawing him as he’s the only Viper Manor guide I haven’t done yet so hopefully this fits his vibe. I’ve only done 2 play throughs of Chrono Cross but I think I’ll start another here soon and finally play through it with him. Also I just wanna say I’m really happy with how the feather on his hat turned out.

I’ve been thinking about trying out alcohol markers and such for awhile because they look like fun and a couple weeks ago I finally got myself some so this is my first drawing with them. I also used pens to ink it out and colored pencils to add some details, I also got some acrylic markers too and I used the white to fix some bleeding in the eyes because I kinda goofed.

All in all for a first attempt I don’t think it looks half bad and I’m excited to try more. It’s also different from what I’ve been posting so far which can be good. The guy I drew is an OC of mine that I’ve used in a couple of projects for college. I have other OCs too from the same projects but so far this guy is the one I would say is the most fully formed in my mind, so maybe I’ll practice more marker drawings with the others and figure them out. I’ve been kinda calling him Griffin because of some writing projects I’ve had to do too, and I think that’s the name I’m gonna go with.

I got Mojo done last night so here he be. I feel a little bad that I didn’t pose him differently as it’s just the official artwork pose I think, but at the same time I don’t know what other pose I could’ve done and honestly this pose is pretty perfect anyways. He’s even holding up a peace sign and I don’t think I need to say more.

I feel I should also mention that in doing these drawings I’ve been looking at photos of people (and one of my dog) for reference with posing and getting the anatomy looking right. In the past I’ve always been worried that if I used pictures it’s cheating or stealing even if I’m not tracing anything. But recently I’ve realized it’s probably fine and I also feel like since using reference pictures that I’ve gotten a little better at drawing anatomy and keeping proportions a little more right.

Also I know that the white in Mojo’s eyes are probably supposed to be the shine/light reflected off of them, like his eyes are beads or buttons of some sort. But at the same time I keep looking at them and they remind me of some of the eyes in some of the FNAF games and I think it’s kinda funny.

Got Poshul done. I think I’m just going to draw all these characters in the order you can get them in the game since at this point that makes the most sense to me.

I also had an idea while listening to a certain video game’s soundtrack that I could blend that game with Chrono Trigger so I’m also working on a digital piece for that and I’ll probably post it here when I’m done. It might be good, it might be bad, I’ve already thought up other pieces for it and it’s probably going to drive me mad, but we’ll see.

Had Kid done but forgot to post it earlier so here it is. I made a couple goofs which ended up with me making some of the outlines thicker than the ones I had on Serge but it’s all good. Also I don’t know if I’m an idiot but her pants are weird and took me way too long to figure out how to draw.

First post, woohoo! I’m playing through Chrono Cross for the first time and I’ve been wanting to practice my art skills more, so I thought it would be cool to try and draw all the playable characters in the game. I got a sketchbook I’m going to push myself to draw more and to fill it with these guys, and then later on the guys from Chrono Trigger too.

Anyways here’s Serge, there’s some goofs but it’s alright. I’m also almost done with Kid so I might post that later tonight.
