Crab/Crawfish Boil! Coloring the food was a challenge of "what shade of Copic Marker is this?"

The last time I had a Crab Boil was in… middle school? My friend’s mom dumped the whole thing on a giant plastic sheet on the dining room table and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely made an impression, that's for sure!

Sweet Tea: the staple of nearly every Southern household.

I think this is about to be a WHOLE DANG THING. I blame this brainworm on @notherpuppet and her Bread Pudding comic. Got me all nostalgic for foods from when I was a kid at my grandparents' house.

We all know Al loves jambalaya, so I'm focusing on some other dishes!

TAKE ME BACK TO THE PIRATE CITY PLEASE.

Do you ever have a crappy day at work and just wanna draw a badass bitch in a smiting mood?

Leviathan was briefly mentioned in FHJY Ep11 and I sat and giggled like a maniac for several minutes. So, I brought out my old kit of colored pencils because my head hurt too much to put up with marker fumes. Not my cleanest work, but I had fun. Ayda is always a treat to draw.

I was listening to Water Wall from the Transistor OST and thought of Lucifer and Alastor dancing a slow tango to a bass-y jazz number in the hotel's expansive new kitchen. I ended up finding Unsolved by Mythical Score Society and it creates such a gentle, sexy mood. Loved how it turned out. ❤️

If anyone has additional music recommendations for this scenario, please pass them along! I'd love to hear them.

Not sure why, but the colors look more fluorescent in the photo than they really are. Must be the lighting.

ALSO, SOMEHOW I FORGOT TO ADD ALASTOR'S TAIL????

Inspired by the sculpture “Orpheus Ascending” by Richard Macdonald. I saw it and I had to draw it. I think Valentino had to have caught Husk unawares and attacked him first, or else that moth would be sporting a few wounds of his own.

Need to practice more on backgrounds and landscapes. I will say that Valentino was good practice for drawing expressions on what I have heard described as a “muppet face.”

The look on Val's face when Niffty was revealed to be Adam's killer was the face of a man who realized he'd dodged a very nasty bullet. Alastor sure knows how to pick 'em.

I personally cannot wait for a Niffty backstory episode. It's probably going to be heart-wrenching, because there's likely a horrible reason why she is fireproof.

Also, I've been forgetting to add Husk's bowtie lately? The poor man was robbed of his clothes as it is!

@celestialalpacaron - I'm not sure if you fully understand the scope of the ART MONSTER you have unleashed with this idea.

But just got some practice with quick sketches using reference photos - mostly of Frank Sinatra. (Included those too for comparison.) I think my favorite is the waltz one, because I am a SUCKER for ballroom dance. ❤️ And ballet. And jazz. And dance in general. You get such WILD and beautiful poses.

Saw the exquisite overlord!Husk AU by @celestialalpacaron and caught an art bug BAAAAAAD. Next thing I knew, I was suddenly filling my Pinterest reference boards with shots of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly whilst listening to Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable."

There are days when I go back to my roots of drawing extremely pretty men and elaborate outfits and jewelry.

"Pirates of Leviathan" is one of my favorite seasons of Dimension 20 - can you tell? "A Court of Fey and Flowers" is right up there with it. Can't get enough of it. I really hope the Bad Kids swing by Leviathan at some point again. Like, Garthy O'Brien was briefly mentioned in FHJY Adventuring Party Ep1, and I went FERAL. (I wanna know more about Ayda's relationship with Garthy! Embarrassing baby stories, general lore, I DON'T CARE.)

Needless to say, I adore Garthy O'Brien and Jack Brakkow. It was hilarious to watch Matt and Brennan flirt with each other. But even more than that, I love a good revenge/glow-up story, and Captain Brakkow had a great one.
