Call Me By Your Name Air b’n’b
Can someone please make a Call Me By Your Name dating site with me. Like where people who want a summer like CMBYN all sign up and group up with the aim of having the “Summer of their live’s” like Elio and Oliver.
Like seriously - message me. Let’s just rent a rustic house and chill by the heaven by the pool and ride our bikes all day
Disclaimer (before people start barraging me with hate): This was never meant to be “some creepy” idea. I just love the hopefulness and happiness the book made me feel, and one day hope to find my Oliver, but unlike the book spend the rest of my life with him...

I know this is a all things Call Me By Your Name and Italy blog; but we MUST support the CMBYN family esp the beloved father figure of the fandom Mr Michael Stuhlbarg.
This film will resonate with anyone who has connected with CMBYN. I have been excited about this film since I saw it was apart of the BFI Film Festival this year.
This film is beautiful, other-worldly, but at the same time so ever so human. This gif set just summaries this film for me.
PLEASE GO SEE IT!
If not to support the movie, but just to add to your life experience.
2017 was definitely a cinematic year that has added to my life and development as a human.

What I am? I move my mouth, like him. I make no sound, like him. What does that make me? All that I am, all that I’ve ever been, brought me here to him.
…Now I can either save him, or let him die.

He had, it took me a while to realize, four personalities depending on which bathing suit he was wearing. Knowing which to expect gave me the illusion of a slight advantage.

1. Timothèe is Missy Elliot working it in this pic! And the suede jacket - props to the stylist. Oh wait that’s him <3 <3 <3
Anyhooos (Anyhows/Anyways for the non-southern British of you out there which I am sure there is plenty)
I’m flying to Paris tomorrow and it just occurred to me, that the French correct pronunciation of Timothée is to pronounce the “ée” as your would the ending in “bae”
IE TIMOTHÉE IS LITTERALLY TIMO-TAE!!!
OR AS I SHALL NOW REFER TO HIM AS:
TIMO-BAE
LIKE I AM KINDA LOSING IT OVER HER!!
If that is not a sign I don’t know what is...
Ps I am sure Armie already made this realisation aaaaaages ago but....

The progression of emotions that are shown on Timonthée’s face - it just brought back so many memories.
...Oh and I love the visual aesthetics. Like the salmon-pink/peach sofa against the peeling wall which is all offset by Timothée’s dark features and white shirt #HEAVEN

I am so glad I am not the only one in awe of the opening credits!
It has this 80′s feel, but also an intellectual, European and youthful aesthetic to it! The transition into the bird song at the end was exactly what I needed to settle myself into the Italian scenery
The best opening credits ever!
Song, statutes, font are perfect. Also if you look carefully you’ll see more details like poker cards, tapes, star of David etc.

Call Me By Your Name - initial thoughts. Full review to come later
I shan’t lie - I had ASTRONOMICAL expectations! I had fallen in love with the book, have been a die hard tumblr CMBYN stan and have been immersed in ElioxOliver feels since I put the book down in September - heck I am evening planning a tour around Italy with the aim of finding my very own Oliver. Oh and I am a huge cinephile...
So my here are my super initial, knee-jerk reactions to the film:
- Opening credits - pure genius. I haven’t felt like this in the lead up to the first scene (maybe) ever before
- Music is fantastic. It is almost like another character in the film
- As mentioned the chemistry between Armie H. and Timothée C. is éncroyable. Brava!!
- At times I felt some cinematography choices were lacking
- I need to understand the negative film choice in the latter part of the movie
- I didn't get emotional at the points I expected to get emotional at and vice vera
- There is a hallway scene which may be my favourite scene along with the balcony scene and peach aftermath scene
- I feel like my expectations ruined my experience of the film, and I wanted more
However please don’t get me wrong - overall this film is definitely up there with the best films of 2017. These are my opinions and are VERY FRESH.
Please feel free to add your thoughts. I’m intrigued if others share similar thoughts to me

OLIVER:
It’s a long story, so bear with me, Pro. Many Latin words are derived from the Greek. In the case of ‘apricot’, however, it’s the other way around.
(he throws a quick, amused look at ELIO)
Here the Greek takes over from Latin. The Latin word was praecoquum, from pre-coquere, pre- cook, to ripen early, as in precocious, meaning premature.
The others take this in. ANNELLA is clearly charmed.
OLIVER (CONT’D)
The Byzantines - to go on - borrowed praecox, and it became prekokkiaor berikokki, which is finally how the Arabs must have inherited it as al-barquq.
