Maybe the writers were too scared they wouldn’t “do it right”. Yes, I would love to have see this scene but I also appreciate it’s up for interpretation.

I’ve always been surprised they didn’t do a Stanford era flashback episode in the first couple seasons of spn back when they were young enough looking to get away with it. Flashbacks to Sam leaving John/dean, Sam meeting Jess, Dean dealing with the fallout, etc. They could have even had a hunt that took Dean to the campus which would totally explain why Dean said he hadn’t bothered Sam in 2 years but he’d been at school for 4 at that point. Why didn’t they ever do one I feel like it could have been a cool concept if they did it right

Thinking about Mary Campbell (The Winchesters) and Dean Winchester (Supernatural) and how they were raised to hunt and fight and shoot a gun.

It could have made them cruel. It could have made them cynical enough to stop caring about others.

But while it made it difficult for them to express their emotions, it also made them care. They responded to the cruelty of the world and the arbitrary nature of loss by caring more.

They were kind to kids. They fought harder for the saving people than the hunting things most of the time.

And they loved their family (found and genetic) deeply.

They saw a cruel world and said: I will not let this stand.

Honestly a great episode and one of my favorite music moments in the show😍

omg I just finished 2x12 and i'm gonna do a debrief/rant

okay so for maybe like the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the ep it was kinda meh to me but then later it got so good and dean was so unhinged loll.

and i think the 2 uses of music at the end, first when they (sam and dean) were escaping in the swat gear and Renegade Styx is playing but it's the slow bit

and then when they're sitting in the impala and it gets more upbeat and stuff (idk sorry i dropped music in yr 8) and dean goes "we're screwed" OH MY GODDDDDDDD LIKE AHHHHHH

AND THEN THEY DRIVE OFF AND IT ENDS LIKE THATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
