Throughout my day, I typically register 14-16 hrs with at least 10 mins of standing in that hour. One of the worst things we could do to abuse our bodies is choose sedentary lifestyle. Protein is essential for you having a quality life. Please stop 🛑 messing around with it❗️ Protein is typically associated with bodybuilding, and rightfully so. The amino acid profile is crucial for new muscle growth and repairing damage. However, protein is so much more than that. It’s highly recommended that one should shoot for .6 to 1 gram of protein per pound if ideal bodyweight. Doesn’t matter if your goals are to gain muscle or lose fat, protein is your ticket 🎫 Protein is also responsible for helping to build a stronger immune system. Lord knows we can all benign from that right now. And if that wasn’t enough, starting your day with quality protein has been proven to help regulate hunger and food choices throughout the remainder of the day. To recap, it doesn’t matter your goals, eat your freaking protein. Hitting those numbers should be non negotiable if your health is a priority. Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins 😋 Whoever thinks that #healthyfood has to be boring & taste like 💩 is wrong❗️You simply need a better coach 😉 My 1 yr old toddler tears these apart 😉 Pound for pound, I’d say these babies are some of the healthiest muffins around. I love muffins so I had to find a hack because traditional muffins have more sugar than a can of pop for crying out load🤦🏻 So what’s up with #htb❓ ✔️ Packed with phytonutrient Rutin ✔️Loaded with other protective phytonutrients. 2200 mg per kilogram to be exact. ✔️10% quality #protein by weight ✔️Contains 2-HOBA {Hobamine} ✔️Loaded with magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins ✔️Rich in D-Chiro-Inositol ✔️High in prebiotic fiber Talk about #foodisfuel 9 simple ingredients 🤯 HTB flour - 2/3 cup Almond flour - 2 cups Baking soda - 1/2 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt - pinch Eggs - 2 Pure maple syrup - 1/2 cup Grass-fed butter - 5 tbsp {melted} 73% cocoa chocolate chips- 1/3 cup Zucchini- 1 large or 2 small Directions: Preheat over to 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl 🥣 Mix wet ingredients together in medium sized bowl. Pulse zucchini in food processor into small pieces, but not mush. Combine into wet ingredients. Combine wet ingredients with dry and mix all together. No need to over mix. Just get it together. Fold chocolate chips into the mix. Line a muffin pan with baking cups {unbleached and chlorine free of course} Fill each cup just about to the top. Bake for 25 mins and then allow to cool completely on rack. Would you like to give yourself a HUGE advantage in the game of your health? Here’s 3 essential components that are pretty much non negotiable: 1) you need to get your quality protein in on a daily basis. Loads of research backs this up. .7 to 1 g/Lb of your ideal body weight. The older you get, the higher you should shoot for, and the more important it is. Same goes for athletic performance and lean muscle gains. 2) move your freaking body daily! You are a human and you were designed to move. Notice I didn’t say “workout”. Move! Sit, stand, squat, lunge, walk. Then add workouts and keep increasing the intensity as you can. Strength training should also be a non negotiable in your life if optimal health is your goal. 3) hydrate! Dehydration, as well as being over hydrated are issues. Cellular function, sleep, delivery pathways of nutrients, etc. Being hydrated doesn’t mean drinking ridiculous amounts of crappy water. Proper hydration comes when you learn how to balance your electrolytes. That’s it ✔️ I guarantee if you can make all three of these things happen on a consistent basis. Consistent is the 🔑 Your health will improve and continue on improving ⚔️ Are there nuances? Yes! Are there different tricks based on an individuals health? Yes! Doesn’t matter though. I was listening to a podcast recently and something that was said jumped right out of my 📱 and punched me right in the jaw. Here’s the message; If you’re not chasing your dreams, your visions, your deepest desires for your life, you’re neglecting yourself and it should be a crime. Furthermore, if you have children, you’re neglecting them 😳 I know! I get it! That’s a hard flipping right hand by Mike Tyson right there for some of us, but it’s true. By not chasing our dreams and inner happiness, we’re teaching our children through our actions that it’s ok to settle 🤦🏻 It’s okay little one. You can be whatever you want to be. Do whatever you want to do. As long as you try hard and never give up. Just don’t pay attention to mommy or daddy who gave up on themselves. 🤬 🤬 This shook my inner soul and I hope it does the same for you. Please listen to me. You DO NOT have to live today based of your past. You are not doomed because of your failures. You are your present self! Every single chance I get to fuel ⛽️ my daughters body for optimal performance and growth, I take it. This is how we start her days and prime her engines to tackle anything that comes her way when she’s with me. It also happens to be her absolute favorite 🤩 -Incubated chocolate shake {for maximum nutrition absorption} -PB blended in {still can’t get her to do almond butter 🤷} -homemade granola -raw chocolate chips {75% cocoa} -organic raspberry’s Now, besides the magic that happens when we choose to fuel ourselves properly, here’s another piece of the magic 🪄 At least I believe it to be. Solid piece of advice I’ve learned over the years is this. When you are in a trying situation, hold on tight! NEVER LET GO! There’s a book called rhinoceros success that I read years ago, and still reference often today. It’s a short, super simple read, but it’s packed with lots of golden nuggets. One of my favorite paragraphs from the book that I find myself going back to often for a reminder goes like this. “You never give up! Tenacity is in every cell of your huge, charging body. You have the invaluable strength to keep at whatever you are doing, despite the circumstances. You are indomitable! Nothing can conquer your strong will to succeed. Torpedoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, taxes, lighting, rhino poachers, and landmines will not subdue you. Every nasty, irritating, obstacle that tries to trip you up is trampled right over. Your persistence bowls over anything that is keeping you from succeeding!” Read that to yourself upon waking every single morning for a month straight. Children’s #nutrition, you could say I’m a bit obsessed with this topic. Did you know that the first 1,000 days of a babies 👶 life are the most crucial in setting them up for longterm quality health? This is also the best time to develop their palate so they get to know and understand real food vs all this criminal bull 💩 that’s on the market today 😡 Seriously, some of the ingredients allowed in baby food and formulas makes me want to 🤮 It also pisses me the 🤬 off that it’s even legal. 1. Metabolic issues. This period of time is crucial for fat development, the good kind}, otherwise known as brown fat. Eating to much sugar, which is found in so many products these days, puts bambino at greater risk for diabetes and obesity. No thanks 😳 2. Neural development. 80% of the adult brain 🧠 is formed by the age of 2. More than half of all energy consumed in these first 1,000 days is going to the brain. Think it’s important what messages it’s receiving from the foods we introduce? You bet 😉 3. Bone development. As adults, we have 206 bones in our body. Babies are born with over 300. As they develop, bones fuse together creating what we have today as big humans. Again, what signals and nutrients are we sending for the development? For these reasons, and so many more, I’m thrilled to have found @myserenitykids for Grayson to enjoy and grow with. Turn your expectations into gratitude, and your entire world 🌍 could change. Not realizing that we already have everything in life we possibly need is a mindset tragedy. Could it be that we truly don’t need anything else at all? Do we already have all we need? Don’t be fooled by the materialistic world we live in. Turn those thoughts around {shift perspective}, and look 👀 inside yourself. I full heartedly believe we should continue striving to be better humans each day. After all, if we’re not growing, we’re dying, right? Let’s just not forget to be #grateful for all we currently do have in the process. I’ve learned the hard way that true joy doesn’t come to you when you make more money, or buy nicer things. In fact, I’d argue it does the opposite. Ps, it’s virtually impossible to be upset/remain upset, when you live in daily gratitude. What’s something you’re extremely grateful for? For me, it’s this one right here. Sadly, I’ve taken her for granted many times. I’m not proud of it, it’s just reality, and I don’t do it on purpose. I’ve found that when I’m focused on the wrong things, not being grateful for today, is when it happens, and I’m determined to be more mindful of it. I will continue striving to better our families future, but I won’t sacrifice the joy I have in my daily life already, along the way. I also realize this is a daily practice, and doesn’t just happen overnight. A fight, I’m willing to fight 🥊 I invite you to put down all the things today, take a step back, and breath in all you have. Wife, partner, kids, animals, a roof to protect you, the device you’re reading this on, the socks on your feet to keep you warm, your feet themselves. Appreciate the breaths you get to take, allow them to connect deep in your soul. Focus on the feelings and thoughts 💭 you have all day long. Ask yourself the questions. What are they tied to? Do they present real meaning, or are they just my brains 🧠 make believe? Is that thought/feeling you’re having real, or is it a embedded belief you’ve allowed your subconscious brain to run 🏃🏻‍♂️ with over the years? Did you know that somewhere around the age of 7, we start to develop these beliefs? We construct a “safe” vs “unsafe” feeling to things. Sometimes they are real events that have happened, and others they are beliefs that have been taught to us. We start to no longer question why, and instead we absorb info with discrimination. Up until now, our brains 🧠 have acted like a sponge 🧽 Thinknof teaching a little kid something and all the why, why, why questions we get 🧐 It’s been shown that stories we program, and believe to be true, stick with us, and ultimately rule our lives if we allow them to 😤 Remember, our subconscious brain is not logical or rational. It reacts purely based on instinct of what it defines as “safe” and “unsafe”, and the subconscious mind will always win! Often times, these thoughts are illogical, irrational, and seen through the lens of our past. I don’t know about you, but living in my past thoughts 💭 instead of the current moments has not served me very well. One of the best ways we can break these is by shifting our perspective. In other words, discover the bigger want, and find new ways to achieve our goals. What thoughts, or beliefs from your past do you find holding you back from experiencing what you truly want for your life today? How can you shift your perspective into creating new beliefs around your thoughts? This is not easy work to do at all! Not all #transformationtuesday transformations have to be #weightloss focused. Sadly, this is the BS the industry has pumped on us.
