Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

“An Arizona grand jury on Wednesday indicted seven attorneys and aides affiliated with Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign as well as 11 Arizona Republicans on felony charges related to their alleged efforts to subvert Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in the state, according to an announcement by the state attorney general. Those indicted include former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, attorneys Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, John Eastman and Christina Bobb, top campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn and former campaign aide Mike Roman. They are accused of allegedly aiding an unsuccessful strategy to award the state’s electoral votes to Trump instead of Biden after the 2020 election. Also charged are the Republicans who signed paperwork on Dec. 14, 2020, that falsely purported Trump was the rightful winner, including former state party chair Kelli Ward, state Sens. Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern, and Tyler Bowyer, a GOP national committeeman and chief operating officer of Turning Point Action, the campaign arm of the pro-Trump conservative group Turning Point USA. Trump was not charged, but he is described in the indictment as an unindicted co-conspirator.”
Meadows, Giuliani and other Trump allies charged in Arizona 2020 election probe
Put them all in prison for the rest of their lives, please.

I just figured out how to make texture and pattern brushes on procreate. i am unstoppable now.
in case youre wondering btw, if you download or draw an image (png works best for patterns, but if you want a texture it will use the color values for the opacity which you can invert as needed)…
1. make a new pen
2. go to grain
3. grain source > edit > import > photo > choose the img you want to use
4. OPTIONAL: adjust the other grain settings if needed
5. OPTIONAL: shape > shape source > edit > import (if you need to change the brush shape)
Example with a brush i made with a jacquard pattern stock image i found on google images then edited to remove background & watermark

The AZ Senate had the votes to repeal the ban last week, so a repeal seems likely. While this would simply put a newer 15w ban in place, this is an immediate benefit to a lot of people who are pregnant and don't want to be, and an indication that the GOP is unable to stand in the face of how pissed off people are.
If you live in AZ, especially, but even if you don't, you need to read the whole article, bc I guarantee that the GOP where you live is going to try to pull bait-and-switch tactics similar to those being tried in AZ, where a pro-reproductive-freedom item is on the ballot. GOPers there are going to try to confuse the vote into failure.

How to make an archery target using recycled materials!
I’m still on the injury recovery bandwagon, but GOOD NEWS: there’s a massive stock of archery references available on my Patreon so you don’t have to miss out on watching me do cool stuff!
Edit: I found the spelling error, thanks everyone for being snarky about it 😉

For the past year I was working for Ten Speed Press as the artist for an as-of-yet unnanounced graphic novel. In early March, I ultimately decided to fire the client after a history of rude and unprofessional behavior from them throughout the project, culminating in catching them in a lie. I already wasn't being paid a lot for this project; I certainly wasn't being paid enough to put up with this kind of behavior. In addition, I had become aware of just how exploitative some terms of the contract actually were when some experienced individuals had a chance to look at it. So I elected to terminate the project, but the publisher is not letting me go without trying to screw me over one last time on my way out the door.
I can't really go into further detail at this moment, but to actually answer your question: yes, I am okay! I'm just waiting to hear back from some people who are interested in helping me on this matter. It's a Staring Contest and Waiting Game at this time.
If you would like to support me, I am on Patreon. My patrons have supported me financially disproportionately more than these "professionals" at this publishing house have done over the past year.
Sorry for being vague; things are just not yet resolved and going into detail at this time is not advisable.
Thank you for your concern! You are great! Sorry I can't say more.

I feel like a good shorthand for a lot of economics arguments is "if you want people to work minimum wage jobs in your city, you need to allow minimum wage apartments for them to live in."
"These jobs are just for teenagers on the weekends." Okay, so you'll use minimum wage services only on the weekends and after school. No McDonald's or Starbucks on your lunch break.
"They can get a roommate." For a one bedroom? A roommate for a one bedroom? Or a studio? Do you have a roommate to get a middle-wage apartment for your middle-wage job? No? Why should they?
"They can live farther from city center and just commute." Are there ways for them to commute that don't equate to that rent? Living in an outer borough might work in NYC, where public transport is a flat rate, but a city in Texas requires a car. Does the money saved in rent equal the money spent on the car loan, the insurance, the gas? Remember, if you want people to take the bus or a bike, the bus needs to be reliable and the bike lanes survivable.
If you want minimum wage workers to be around for you to rely on, then those minimum wage workers need a place to stay.
You either raise the minimum wage, or you drop the rent. There's only so long you can keep rents high and wages low before your workforce leaves for cheaper pastures.
"Nobody wants to work anymore" doesn't hold water if the reason nobody applies is because the commute is impossible at the wage you provide.

PSA: Don't use Open Office
I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.
Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.
Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!
