:. -and where the hell is Hound? He vanished 5 minutes ago with an EMF reader. .:
Fox's question has Thire rolling his chair over to the tracker screen, tapping away until Hounds locator is pulled up.
Hm.
Thire holds his communicator up, broadcasting over all channels.
"Hound, budy, pal," Thire didn't look away from the tracker. "Your vitals are still registering so I know you aren't dead."
He gives a pause, giving their fifth a chance to speak up now.
Silence.
"Hound, I can see you're in a closet. You know there isn't any hunts going on, right?"
There's a click of a comm turning on before clicking off then on again.
:. Uhhh, would you believe me if I said I was taking a snack break? .:
Thire could feel Fox's ire from all the way inside the house. On the tracking screen, Fox entered the same level as Hounds, going closet by closet trying to find their rogue member.
:. I just got the munchies is all-. .:
There's the sound of a door slammed open and a started scream before the other side cuts off.
:. Rest in stupidity, vod. We knew you well. .: Stone mourns over the call, Thorn chiming in with his own remembrances.
If one listened close enough, they could hear Fox's scolds from outside, Thire knew he could hear it from out in the vehicle afterall.
My mind has revived this ghost hunting in canon au now for Star Wars featuring the Corries.
Where on top of their jobs, somehow the Corries end up getting reputation to be the ones to call when supernatural things occur. First few times they got calls about ghosts the clones had a good laugh until it persisted, calls keep being sent in until Fox has enough and sends a group out to investigate the claims just so the natborn would leave them alone.
This leading to eventually having a actual haunted location and cue the Corries having 'Hey, what the actual fuck?' As they barely get out. There's a montage of the clones just researching ghosts in any spare time before prepping themselves with ghost hunting items until finally they're ready to go again.
Somehow, they succeed and think it was a one-time case. They're wrong, and now, on top of usual duties, they get ghost hunting, too.
Fox stays in denial the longest of all of them until his ass accidentally gets possessed, which leads to very panicked Corries having to make a rescue mission for their Commander.
Just shenanigans following after which include the Corries keeping this a secret from everyone including GAR, Fox being possessed becoming a thing, Thorn learning so many cultures versions of 'Yeet The Ghost From My Vod's Body' so he can free Fox, a little old natborn living in a super haunted home that even Fox can see is haunted but she refuses to acknowledge said ghost much to the corries worry who just want to get rid of it, and possibly other supernatural elements coming in later.

Sneak Peak of a Dogma One-Shot in WIPs
A hand on his shoulder has him gritting teeth and hunching over his currently mismatched pieces of armor in fear of it being taken away.
"Dogma, it's all going to be trashed, you know this. The general doesn't allow reused armor for us and only brand new. If it ends in the bin, it's going to the smelter."
Dogma knows this, but there was still a system in place!

Good news is that I have 6 fics (2 one shots, rest chapters) to publish, only one with beta, though. LOL
Hard part is choosing who to post and when! One hand thought about every Monday and Friday posting so 2 works a week or just doing every Friday to post so one fic a week, hmmmmm.

easy hack if you're scared of a blank page or need word count encouragement
I have a hard time writing on that big blank document. Even if it already has paragraphs or pages of work, it still feels incredibly daunting when I first start.
I manage the page setup on Google Docs to help me out.
Not only do the words fill up the page faster, the size I use is roughly the size of a paperback. It's exciting to visualize what it could look like published.
It helps me to have visual encouragement, rather than a document that looks more like a school essay.
Here is how I set my document up in Docs under File > Page setup
Tumblr media
I change "Paper size" from the default to "Statement size". I also change all margins from the default to .5 inches.

How to Give Your Villain an Emotional Backstory That Isn’t Tragic
In crafting a villain’s backstory, we often want the origin to be as powerful as the character themselves. As Chris Colfe says, “A villain is just a victim whose story hasn’t been told.”
Unfortunately, however, tragic backstories become tedious. Oh, of course their parents were eaten alive in front of them, their home was foreclosed on by a corrupt institution, the love of their life betrayed them, their favorite TV show was canceled, and they couldn’t get the last scrap of mayonnaise out of the jar. Someone get the fainting couch, quick.
At a certain point, it’s no longer a backstory – it’s a sob story, which quickly transforms our empathy into pity, and finally into boredom. We roll our eyes and wish the villain had kept the melodrama to themselves.
On the other side of that coin, having a character who stomps on bunnies for no reason isn’t exactly relatable, and a well-rounded character can’t just burst into existence one day fully formed. Everyone has a history.
So how can you give your villain a backstory that tugs on readers’ heartstrings, without making it a sob story?
For this, we’re going to use Epic of Lilith as an example once again (How to Make Your Villain Domestic but Still Evil), as well as Megamind briefly. Some of these tips can also be applied to heroes, but we’ll stay villain-centric for now.
