I always had mixed feelings about the field scene because yes it's great and powerful but also if you imagine it from Simons perspective, it's probably low key traumatic. Seeing someone high or drunk changes the way you view them forever, especially when you've been hurt by someone with and addiction. At the same time it's pretty hilarious juxtaposing how sweet we all see this scene with Simon's perspective, him just having to deal with this high teenager and being annoyed cause Wilhelms trying to profess his love while getting a piggyback ride and failing to make a coherent sentence 😭
I was so hurt seeing this parallel..
The fact that Simon immediately recognized that Wille was high when he looked him in the eye and we see him flinch the same way he did when his dad touch him.
There's so much that we can still discuss in this series but we only have one season left. And I really need them to address this one but will we ever get the chance when they even missed showing Simon's side on S2 😭

if they’re going to tartarus just to save bob they’re going on the wrong quest 😭😭 like…. ethan nakamura used the sword of hades to summon iapetus which is EXACTLY what they’re trying to do
and riordan’s team is relaunching sword of hades with tsats attached which means they want that story fresh in our minds
so… the sword of hades and its key that unlocks death is definitely coming into play. we know that hades has forbidden nico to go to tartarus from tower of nero, so youd think he might be more open to letting nico use the sword. but nico seems to be planning to tunnel in to tartarus directly using the trogs. something doesn’t add up here!
all this to say, if there’s a need to go to tartarus, it’s definitely not just about bob.
and it maybe has something to do with nyx

yeah yeah yeah percy and annabeth deserve to go to college and live peaceful lives and I guess New Rome accomplishes that but maybe just maybe I LIKE the idea of wacky demigod hijinks that come with them living in the mortal world hmmm??? maybe I can APPRECIATE the comedic potential of them having to juggle demigod responsibilities while going to college in New York?? Like come on, they’re seasoned fighters, a random monster isn’t going to take them out, let Annabeth go to her dream college that will give her merit in the mortal world as an architect and if the trade off is that she has to occasionally excuse herself from her classes to quietly deal with an empousa out in the hall, well then so be it. Let Percy get to go to a college in his city, near his mom, and sure he might have to consider whether his chem professor is a monster from hell or like, an actual monster from hell, but then again who doesn’t??
