CAUTION!! UTERUS/GROSS INSIDE PIC! Two weeks ago yesterday I had a total hysterectomy. I feel a hell of a lot better. Not only did I have a massive fibroid (5x5x3), I had two more underneath it(one being 3x3x2 which was partially deflated due to the large one and the smallest being 2inches all around. The largest one was pushing everything down and to the left including my uterus which was pushed to the front of my stomach. This past Thursday I had my postop appointment and still not able to drive for maybe a couple more weeks and was told DO NOTHING FOR 10 WEEKS. These past two weeks were definitely not easy and grateful for all the help that we have been given.

11 days postop of a hysterectomy that took my uterus, tubes, cervix and two giant fibroids and a small fibroid.

Let's back up to 4:30am day before surgery. Travis woke up to having to puke his guts out for the rest of the day into Monday, day of my surgery. Parents to the rescue and my mom took me to my Monday surgery. Tuesday after our one kid had a major asthma attack on top of having ear infections in both ears, plus travis still not 100% from food poisoning. Here comes last weekend where the other kid ends up with pink eye in both eyes and ear infections in both ears as well. My mom has been here and it really has been me taking care of her and me stressing out. Yesterday was my postop appointment and it didn't go the way I was hoping. Still can't drive and my doctor emphasized of doing NOTHING for 10 weeks. It was a big bummer cause all my incisions are basically healed but my inners need way more time I guess. Then today, my car broke when my mom was driving it, driving us to do some errands. She hit a pothole and my muffler system fell apart and it felt like something happened to my front passenger tire. Side not is that I have a new car waiting for me at my aunt and uncle's in eastern pa and I just need this car to last me for a month until I get cleared to drive. The event today though was my breaking point and I had a breakdown, big time. Another side note is that 95% of the time I have been driven by my parents for some reason or another the car that they are driving breaks somehow. I had to get on the ground and see what happened to the car, see what broke. Remember I just had a hysterectomy 11 days ago. I felt bad for my mom and tried to tell her it wasn't her fault and asked her if I could just be by myself for awhile. She walked back to her Airbnb which is a 10 minute walk from our house. I crawled into bed and bawled my eyes out uncontrollably for a good 30 minutes until travis got home from work and came upstairs and talked me through to being calm again.

Now he and our friend Dave temporarily fixed my car to hold me over, I definitely strained some stomach muscles from sobbing and slight discharging a bit more than I was because I probably strained my stitches at my cuff. My sister arrived in town to relieve my mom, which was the plan to begin with, and they have been chilling at the Airbnb. I have been couched bound all eve and will probably be for the foreseeable future. I just needed to vent somewhere.

I've been asking the universe to just make things go smoothly, calm things down. So please universe, please let things calm down.

Hey there folks! I have my hysterectomy surgery on April 10th, the Monday after Easter. Turns out Travis and I will be in need of some love, help and support. We just found out the kids break is the week prior to Easter, not after and Travis won't be able to take off all week of my surgery. I'm in recovery for at least 6 weeks and the first 3 weeks is what we need the most help with. I'm in need of some driving to preop appointments/support/love and hangs so I do not go stir crazy, the pupperyro Tilly and the cats Oscar and Kate will need some minding as well. We only have the kids part time and when they are here Travis has his hands full. The big kicker is that we may not be able to accommodate folks from out of town BUT I will find you a place and help pay too! 💗👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐶🐱🐱💗 A reminder again! If you are in your mid 20s or older and have yet to have an ultrasound on your uterus get one down. A year ago on my yearly gyno appointment a small pedunculated fibroid was found growing off of my uterus. I found out fibroids are very common and turns out I am genetic susceptibility on both sides of my family which I found that out last year. It was the size of a small plum and only was causing my bladder to not fully expand, which at the time I did not mind and the doctor didn't seem too concerned either. This past year I notice my bladder control changed again. By December I was having some discomfort and should find out when my next yearly is. On February 6th I had my ultrasound to check on my fibroid. My doctor came in and sat down and said that my fibroid had quadrupled in size and is now the size of a baby's head/4 month old fetus. She said since I have family history of fibroids and the size of it that I should get a hysterectomy. Needles to say I was flabbergasted. I told her I have concerns with having a hysterectomy due to it upping my risk for breast cancer if my ovaries are taking out with the surgery. My doctor said she will be sending me to a specialist to figure out my best options.

Yesterday I met with the specialist at Sisters. She was pretty nice and explained that the size of it (which she joked was a "monster". yes you can feel it through my skin now) is so large and with family history I should get a hysterectomy. The specialist also took a biopsy and assured me there shouldn't be any reason to take my ovaries which is awesome!

Travis and I weren't planning on having kids together, we already have two amazing kids (from his ex). Even though I never wanted to give birth to a child I feel disheartened that my choice is going away. It doesn't make me less of who I am, don't feel that way at all. Excited that I won't ever have a period again though and travis and I won't ever have to worry about an oopsy. My surgery is on April 10th and I will be out of commission till mid June.

Other life updates is Tilly and I got a hike in today and we got caught in the rainy which was very lovely. Our friend Eric who is Travis best bud and partner in crime for all music got married Saturday, Travis is a dream boat and Ella scored a giant bowl of candy from the homecoming parade that comes down our street Saturday morning.

GUESS WHAT YALL... A Big City Greens-inspired fan-made PUNK album NOW EXISTS and I am beyond excited!!!

About a year ago, one of the readers of this here blog (Kristina) reached out to me asking if it was "ok" if her husband, his friend, and her could produce a BCG-inspired punk album. I was delighted at the idea so of course I said yes. But to be honest, I didn't think anyone out there was crazy enough to put in the insane amount of work to write a bunch of original songs as well as record and produce them.

Enter: Travis Johnson. Travis is a punk rocker who has produced a plethora of awesome punk albums over the years. His kids are fans of BCG and introduced Travis to the show. He ended up also really liking the series and since he was looking for a side project to keep him busy during covid, he had a calling for his next album! Over the next YEAR, Travis and his buddy Eric Hughes worked together during nights and weekends to produce this bad boy.

As time went on, the project only got bigger and better. I was so impressed, I offered to do the album artwork. Also, Marieve and I supplied Travis with some Cricket and Tilly soundbites that were then mixed into to the songs. Even Travis's kids got in on the fun and can be heard singing on a few tracks!

The whole album (literally) screams passion and I'm so impressed with what Travis, Eric, and Kristina were able to accomplish. But don't take my word for it, check it out yoself!

Everything is tucked in. I have waaaaaaaay too many house plants and I already got rid of a bunch and about to give more away to Blossom and Oteria and anyone else. I also have two beautiful Boston ferns this year that I started from itty bitty babies and they blew up and I don't want to toss them so hopefully someone will give them love.
