any specific artists on tumblr or somewhere else you draw inspiration from for your art?

Good question, growing up I was inspired by Tetsuya Nomura not only because of his kh drawings but also his storyboard art for the game is really cool because he pushes movement in the panel which I never really seen anyone done that before. I was also inspired by Shiro Amano, the artist of the kh manga because I liked how goofy and fun the characters are. from tumblr I love @starrjoy because not only their comic book series, pandora au, is pretty good )I recommend reading if your a sonic fan) but it also very colorful, I like that they push again the panel, instead of boxes, they use various of shapes and sizes to emphasize drama and movement. another tumblr artist I like is @themoti because of the blues it’s soooo gorgeous. but one of my biggest inspiration is from my sister, growing up I thought and still do think she is one of the coolest person ever. It was the time where anime was considered cool but she didn’t care because she liked it and I thought that was pretty cool.

hi everybody, I drew this almost immediately after I saw the season two pics on Twitter. I had this idea immediately after and yet eventhough I don’t really draw backgrounds, I actually really like the way it turned out. Originally I was going to add lineart to the background but my gut instinct told me to do like a painting instead. Still practicing my colors and effects.

I am curious about Shadow’s role, specifically on the screenshot of him supposedly stealing Sonic prism thing. I don’t think he’ll be like a villain I’ve seen people speculating. I can see him trying to fix Sonic’s mess but soon find out that there’s more to handle and instead maybe train Sonic of using this new prism power or like help him using chaos control at one point. I also had a theory that maybe he’ll be visiting Rogue world and help her out with her problem, because they’re more acquainted toward each other rather (Team Dark) than Sonic and Rogue. Also we haven’t see her world yet. We’ve seen Tails with New Yoke, Amy in the jungle and Knuckles in the pirate but not Rogue or maybe even Big? Who knows??? But I am super excited to seeing season two, which I speculate maybe be around 4-6 months like in June or something due to Sonic birthday. Also because most likely when they were finishing season one, they started season two around that time.

Sonic Redraw challenge or practice

I’ve been seeing this post everywhere on Twitter and want to give it a try because I’ve been on a sonic kicks a lot lately and also I’ve been practicing on my linework, which I’m starting to like. Coloring on the other hand, wellllllll….. I still got work to do. For me, I think color I can be overwhelmed or lost or what to do so sometimes with some drawing it may look muddy or not as polish or not to my liking. (I know I can be my worst enemy) So I need to find materials to read to understand coloring more. So this was a practice run before I draw anything serious.

I have been reading the IdW sonic scrapnik island and I really like it a lot. It just a fun horror esc story of eggman scrap robot on a mysterious island. I like how sonic is more valuable and tails is geeky out. ( he is sooo flipping adorable 🥰) so I drew Min Ho Kim cover art, I like there’s a lot going on. I thought it would be a good challenge to practice.

I actually start drawing this before the sonic above. I was more focused on the linework here because I’m starting to not like the flat clean style of linework on some of my work. so I’ve been just using the hb pencil on my procreate instead which honestly I like it more. It somehow give it more dimension or something instead of looking stiff. Maybe it just look like I can control the lineweight easier eventhough I am technically using the same method as before. Where I just line and erase if it’s too thick or add more weight by overlapping it.

I kind of want any critique or opinion on these. Again these were more of a practice run. I am drawing a quick sonic sketch I had in mind because of a little silly joke lol 😂 but I do want to get back to something more serious soon, so maybe something with this linework? Who knows?

Sonic Prime

Omfg I think I am done with this drawing, it was a lot of stress. I did a lot of stupid small mistakes and should of planned the sketching part a bit more. My initial plan was the have all of them in original persona with shards reflecting their shatterverse persona but it looked awkward so I instead did the complicated approach and drew them three times which took a ton of work because i also change their pose for each shatterverse otherwise it would look weird and lazy. However eventhough this work gave me a ton of headache and frustration I would say, it could be a lot worse and am happy with the final result. Did I make some mistakes yeah I’m pretty sure I did and can edit it later. I’m ok with that lol. It was hard to find references at the time, so if I made a mistake, I’ll come back to it. I just want to draw something else in the mean time. Maybe more sonic sketches or kingdom hearts or maybe a collab because I’m thinking of the sonic 2022 and Kh 20 anniversary, this year was soooo crazy.

but what about sonic prime, is it a good show? A bad show? I think you guys have your answer right here. I would say honestly this has to be the best sonic show I’ve watched. I did watched, sonic x, underground, sat am and some of boom. But I really liked the characters here, they were fun and had an interesting approach to each of their shatterverse persona. but I love the smear animation approach because not only could they get away with using less frames, it make it very dynamic, actioning and fun also a nice reference to how sonic was design based on the rubber hose era. I even bought a sonic 25 anniversary book this year and it’s a fun read. But yes, enough of the chit chat, I’m happy with this drawing at the end, I hope you guys enjoy it.
