Void Teacup Cat Redraw

I decided to redo this older teacup cat painting. My skills and style have developed a bit since I did the originals and I've been thinking about doing some new ones for a while. I really like how this turned out! I'm including a print of it in the Gallifrey One art show next weekend.

Underwater TARDIS

I had the idea for this over a year ago and finally started it in the fall. I FINALLY finished it! That school of fish gave me a lot of trouble and I actually scrapped what I had originally done entirely, but I'm really glad that I did because this looks so much better!

I'm planning on printing this to put in the Gallifrey One art show in a few weeks.

Mountain BluebirdMy calendar page for December. And now the 2023 calendar is done! This is actually one of the few birds that I new that I was going to draw from the beginning (Hummingbird and Sandpiper are the other two). I'm excited that I finally got to draw it! Now I need to start thinking about what next year's calendar is going to be. I'm thinking of something much simpler so I can focus on other art projects more, like photography from the past year or 12 months of Mari (my cat) ^-^

I might make the full calendar available as a printable digital download on my etsy or maybe on my patreon. If I do I'll make a separate post about it.

Steller's Jay

My calendar page for September!

This one is referencing a photo that I took in Big Sur, California earlier this month. This one was hanging around a waterfall and picking at the moss, but there were so many others around (especially at the outdoor restaurant where we had lunch) that I knew I had to use one of them for my calendar. They're really cool and apparently they really like french fries (when a group of people leaves their table they descend and grab any leftover fries)

I'll probably post the original photo in a day or two.

Hawaiian Chicken

My sister was in Hawaii last week and kept sending pictures of chickens she one of the first pictures she sent was of a rooster in a costco parkling lot. So I decided to draw a Hawaiian chicken. The background is based on one of the non-chicken pictures she sent.

She kept sending us pictures of chickens, and then she brought us back a stuffed rooster wearing a lei ^<^

Quail and Poppies

My friend suggested doing a quail with some poppies for my April calendar page since the poppies are starting to bloom around here. I liked that idea, so that's what I did.

I had forgotten that these are the California state bird and flower until I was looking for references, so I guess this is a very California painting.
