Angel in the city: London
Saint Michael Protect Us
Sancte Michael Protege Nos
Repainted after the destruction of 1941 and re-dedicated.
A blonde-haired teenage-faced Michael crowned with a tiara bearing a cross and wearing white armour and a blue-coloured halo raises his sword to kill a many-headed blue dragon-like creature which he is blocking with his red shield.
Beneath his feet the ground is shown as green and grassy.
His white wings have a peacock-like pattern upon them in orange and brown.
Above him is a blue patterned shield with an x-shaped wood patterned cross across it

You are greeted on entry to the church of St Alban The Martyr, London, beyond the gates of the yard, by a figure emerging from a wall.
The torso is still wrapped in its shroud but the wound is clearly visible in his side. The arms are stretched upwards towards the heavens and the figure looks up. With his head tilted back, he looks as though he is speaking but not to us. He is speaking to God. The open hands clearly show the nail marks made three days before. This is Christ being raised from the dead by Hans Feibusch.

Has the feel of a stone circle about it.
Will future people find these concrete bridges and wonder what we worshipped so fervently that we raised them everywhere?
