Had this funny idea for an AU: what if instead of giving their baby to Ben and May, Peter's parents left him under the care of Norman and Emily right before their death (perhaps because Mary and Emily were close friends), so Peter ended up being adopted into the Osborn's family?
I can imagine that Peter would have turned into a much more snobbish, condecensing jerkass who thinks he's above everyone, flex about his intelligence and be a huge jerkass to his brother, Harry. It's also a given that Norman would heavily favor Peter over Harry due to his "intelligence" and passion for science (which could shape Peter's condescending attitude towards Harry) and likely put a lot on pressure on Peter, contributing to Peter's superiority complex.
Also, Peter would definitely not go to Midtown High given his privileged upbringing and intelligence, so I doubt he would ever encounter Flash Thomson or Liz Allan. And he would have encountered Gwen Stacy earlier as she's a friend of Harry and that Norman and George Stacy were canonically close friends.
He would still become Spider-man in this universe but given that he already has all the fame and money he wants, he wouldn't need to use his powers for these things. I think he wouldn't bother using them at all at first. Rather than Uncle Ben's death, Harry's death could serve as a catalyst for him to become Spider-man. Perhaps Harry and Gwen went to investigate a gang's criminal activities and Harry asks for Peter's help as his powers could be of use but Peter ignores his request and instead goes to Oscorp's meeting with his dad. Harry predictably dies and Peter thinking he could have prevented his death with his powers tries to make up for his death by becoming Spider-Man, whereas Norman who has already lost his wife in similar circumstances less than a year ago, goes into full blown madness and turns into Green Goblin to "avenge" them by directing his anger at the city as a whole, which he sees as a corrupt, irredeemable place (akin to Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins).
Spider-Man and Green Goblin develop a deep seated hatred towards each other. Of course, to keep some spice, Norman and Peter are unaware of each other's identies until the very end. Needless to say that they would be deeply disturbed to learn the truth, especially Norman who swore to protect Peter by all costs since Peter is his last remaining family, someone he deeply loves.
Over time, Peter would grow out his worst traits to become a much humble and heroic person and would have to try to keep balance between his responsibilities as the heir of Oscorp and a superhero. I can also see Peter running Oscorp alone as his father's mental state deteriorated ever since Harry's death so wouldnt in position to run such a large company. I can him developing a some sort of rivalry with Tony Stark initially due to being heads of rival companies. I can also see Peter using Oscorp's technology in crime fighting (while Norman uses it for crime).
Gwen and Peter/Spider-Man form a some sort of crime-fighting duo as Gwen is basically a mix between Oracle and Insomniac MJ. She would be the computer nerd making all research needed or pirating stuff like Oracle and gather clues like insomniac MJ to help Spider-man. Peter would continue his brother's "legacy" by working with Gwen like his brother to take down criminals whereas Gwen continues her father's legacy to make New York a safer place and of course Peter and Gwen develop a romance over time.
Anyway, what do you think about this idea for an AU? It in an interesting idea to explore?

They adapted this storyline the worst possible period. Everyone is already fed to death with this trope. Like it doesn't even make sense with the overall tone of the show. The main focus is and should be on Omni-man and Invincible's relationship, the viltrumites and their conquest of earth. The multiverse storyline just feels completely out of place here and takes away the focus from the heart of the show
In other words:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Superhero comics have been doing multiverse stuff for decades before the current trend
Tumblr media
The Flash #123 (1961) AKA "Flash of Two Worlds"
They've been doing massive multiverse events for decades as well
Tumblr media
Crisis on Infinite Earths #1 (1985)

Some highlights from Batman/Superman: World's Finest #25, aka a supernatural lexjokes adventure.
Though of course I must note the batjokes.
Tumblr media
"You can't understand him like I can, Clark!!"
Anyway Lex is in disguise and Joker looks evilly excited.
Tumblr media
Lex cannot have his abducted mental patient in a straitjacket so he gets a suit and three tailors for Joker.
Tumblr media
Of course Luthor puts an exploding collar on Joker to make him behave, but Joker takes it in stride-- in his bat trunks.
Tumblr media
And Joker makes a show of team spirit.
Tumblr media
Joker looks so happy with his colorful totally nonweaponized umbrella.
Tumblr media
And during their adventure, they naturally bond by complaining about their respective nemeses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naturally Joker's temperament does ruin their daytrip by the end but overall this was a breath of fresh air compared with certain other recent Joker content and I recommend checking it out.

I think most of you know about the parallels Lex Luthor and Joker have with their respective nemeses but it's also interesting to think about all the parallels these two bastards have with each other.
The two of them actually share a fair number of similaities.
The first most obvious is of course their status as arch nemeses to DC most famous superheroes (who themselves are foils to other in many ways despite their similarities and despite being best friends).
Both of them also have an ulhealthy obsession over their nemeses and many of their schemes involve fucking their enemies up one way or another.
Both of them also respect their enemies deep down (more apparent in Joker's case).
Both of them lack any superpowers and compensate with gadgets, schemes or lackeys.
Both of them are largely non action villains.
Both of them have hot female sidekickss who kick butt.
But that's where similarities end as they're opposite in nearly everything else.
Lex Luthor has no supervillain identity, contrary to the Joker who has no civilian identity.
Lex Luthor is the most respected businessman of Metropolis and the second respected person behind Superman, while Joker is the most infamous criminal of Gotham.
Lex Luthor operates within society (by running a multi-billion company, running presidential campaign, etc..) and Joker operates outside of it.
Lex Luthor is a billionaire, Joker is a middle class man.
Lex Luthor have a canon (albeit inconsitent) backstory that helps to understand what shaped him to be the man he curently is, Joker has none and it's not relevant to who he currently is.
Lex Luthor believes himself to be a good guy, while Joker fully embraces his own evil (proving himself to be more lucid than Lex Luthor)
Lex Luthor is serious, goal-oriented, strategic, no-nonsense and rarely jokes around. Joker on the other hand rarely takes anything seriously, is completely unpredictable and has no specific end goal outside of pure chaos.
Lex Luthor wants to maintain his own version of order, Joker relishes in chaos.
Lex Luthor wants to make the world a better place in his own twisted way, Joker wants to make it worse.
Lex Luthor has demonstrated time after time that he has potential for goodness and a heart deep down, and Joker...well no need to elaborate here.
Lex Luthor greatly cares for his reputation, Joker couldn't give less fuck about his.
All in all, these two are perfect foils to each other, in addition to being perfect foils to their arch nemeses. It's unlikely that the writers purposely wrote them as foils to each other, which makes it even better.

In the movie novel, the villains play jumping rope with the tongue of a chameleon. now it's even more fun to think that Tai Lung took her with them not for the sake of justice, but because he couldn't miss the chance, like, "finally a new entertainment for guys." Tai Lung holds her while other villains jump over her tongue.

People literally calling the Public Domain a graveyard have no clue what they're talking about. Without the Public Domain, most of your beloved childhood Disney movies literally would not have been made, because they are literally based on stories that were in the Public Domain.
Please unlearn capitalistic propaganda before you go saying things like "the public domain is the graveyard of ideas". Literally the only people that benefits are giant corporations like Disney who don't want you using the Public Domain like they have been this whole damn time.

It feels so good that, despite Disney literally changing public domain laws and lobbying politicians to try to keep it from happening, there was ultimately nothing they could do to keep Steamboat Willie out of the public domain. It’s good to see that the concept of public domain still exists, and nobody, no matter how rich they are, is above it.

genuinely super interested to see where williamson takes lex and baby lena’s relationship because he is definitely not a good father to her but he seems to have come to the absolutely fascinating conclusion that he can’t traumatize her if he never spends any time with her. lex is convinced that he’s been protecting her, meanwhile lena seems to have (understandably, if incorrectly) taken this to mean that her father doesn’t care about her.

My villain rankings. Generally, the more charismatic or scarier you are as a villain, the more I like you. 😅
Masters definitely helped bumped up several of these, like RR Giovanni (him causing trouble for the other villainous teams and being such a threat that all the other villains joined in the battle to help bring him down was cool), Lysandre (giving him some much needed development with Sycamore, plus the bonkersness of him becoming the first main villain with a known kill count), and USUM Lusamine. (Giving her more attempt-at-redemption/fixing her damaged relationships development she needed in the original games.)
(I will say Masters made me like Rose a bit more too since he doesn't do anything so extreme, mostly just causes something of a minor political dispute, so Masters Rose is more around the "enjoyable" tier. I always had a problem that the original Rose couldn't just wait a single day, like Leon had agreed to help him, and you choose to jump the gun and bring about the apocalypse anyway without your safety net being there?! Him being the antagonist always just felt so forced when he's not really all that evil to begin with.)

A rival tierlist!
Kieran was an archetype I wanted them to do for a long while, where we have a friendly rival turn resentful towards the player due to being constantly one-upped by them, with the added salt in the wound of the player basically living their dream.
Funny goes a long way with me, so that's why Bede, Klara, and Avery are as high as they are, despite their lack of prevalence. Plus, I was so happy to have some jerk rivals after almost 20 years.
I like Shauna the best of the XY rivals since she had the most personality and was actually pretty funny at times.
I generally just forget Trace exists sometimes, but it's probably because I didn't really like Let's GO much. There's more going for him in the games than Trevor or Tierno tho. 😅

Rewatched The Good Place for the first time since s4 dropped and. Oh my god. The Good Place said "people are a result of their environment but we always have a moral responsibility to be better" and The Good Place said "every day the world gets a little more complicated and it gets a little harder to be good" and The Good Place said "even in the face of total nihilism, when nothing you do will matter, you still have to at least try. Because trying is better than the alternative" and The Good Place said "if you have bills to pay and shit to deal with you don't have time or energy to become a better person" and then The Good Place really said "people get better when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don't " and THEN The Good Place really said "no one is irredeemable. Everyone can try to be better today than they were yesterday" AND THEN! The Good Place said "Heaven is just enough time with the people that you love" OH MY FUCKING GOD.

favorite platonic relationships: eleanor shellstrop and michael “You know, I had a friend that said whenever she was doing something bad, she’d hear this this little voice in her head, distant little voice, saying, “Oh, come on now. You know this is wrong.” And then when she started doing good things, that voice went away. It was a relief. She’s a little rough around the edges, but she was also a really good person, when she tried.”
