One thing I love about Bad's lore, and the reason why I watch every stream for like 6 months I think, is the subtle RP. Like, this is going to sound odd but every lore hint fascinates me to no end because it's like playing mind games.

Bad would give his audience the slightest of hints- whether it's in his builds or the things he says, but he keeps most of it a secret until it's time to properly reveal it. And even if you're just a casual watcher, you'll still be left wondering and thinking what the fuck it all means. He said it a few streams ago, that the best stories will always leave you with more questions with every hint dropped, and I personally have to agree. That's why I found the soul vultures arc so satisfying and cathartic because it was hinted at for MONTHS and it was tied up in such a good devastating tragedy.

It's not necessarily the story, but it's the progression of it that's got me so hooked, and honestly, the theorist and storyteller in me really appreciates that :D

q!BBH y los lenguajes del amor

¿Podemos tomarnos un momento para apreciar lo completo que es la forma de mostrar amor de q!Bad?

Veamos los ejemplos en los 5 lenguajes del amor

1.- Palabras de afirmación.

"Quienes hablan este lenguaje expresan su cariño por medio de las palabras, sobretodo aquellas que expresan orgullo, elogios y afecto."

No es difícil encontrar al menos un momento en el que q!Bad haya expresado su amor o admiración hacia alguien, principalmente los huevos, pero no se limita solo a ellos, su "voz de npc" es una forma en la que constantemente apoya a sus amigos sin perder su forma de ser, siendo un poco juguetón al no gustarle decir halagos directamente a las personas pero si considera que es necesario es capaz de dejar esto de lado a favor de hacer sentir bien a la persona. Los huevos son la única excepción a esta regla al decir lo que piensa sobre ellos abiertamente y mostrar su admiración por cada habilidad o aspecto de la personalidad que demuestran.

2.- Tiempo de calidad

"Quienes compaginan con este lenguaje se sentirán más amados en la medida en que se le brinden espacios de atención, sin interrupciones."

q!Bad disfruta de pasar tiempo con los huevos en cada oportunidad que tiene y trata de darles a cada uno el tiempo y la atención, sean sus hijos o no.

Así mismo es obvia la cantidad de tiempo que disfruta pasar con sus amigos, le muestra sus descubrimientos a q!Pierre, convive lo que le es posible con q!Baghera, etc.

3.- Regalos

"Los regalos no siempre tratan del precio, más bien de lo que significa el tiempo y el esfuerzo de buscar algo que a la otra persona sabes le gustará”

Nuevamente comenzamos con los huevos, les ha dado múltiples regalos a cada uno, flores, dulces, comida, bloques que necesitan, etc.

Obviamente esto no se limita a los huevos, el elevador para el titan que construyó para q!Foolish, el sartén de q!Bagi, otras cosas más pequeñas como comida o bloques al grado que logra ser apreciado por los nuevos miembros porque no duda en ayudarlos con algunos recursos, etc.

4.- Actos de servicio

"Las personas que tienen este lenguaje demuestran su amor a través de un servicio útil o favores.

Por más sencilla que sea la actividad, cuenta que estés sacando de algún apuro a alguien más."

En el caso de q!Bad esto se relaciona mucho al punto anterior pero también al esfuerzo que siempre esta dispuesto a dar para cuidar a los huevos, ayudando a evitar su muerte en múltiples ocasiones y por ende manteniendo la felicidad también de los padres, para un ejemplo más específico podemos mencionar la ocasión en que reparó la puerta de q!Cellbit porque para él podría representar una conexión con Richarlyson, provocando que se refiriera a él como "un angel".

5.- Contacto fisico

"Este lenguaje se muestra y recibe a través del contacto afirmativo, como tomarse de la mano, abrazarse o besarse"

Este es el más escaso o extraño para q!Bad pero tampoco es imposible de encontrar, el no tiene problema en abrazar a los huevos, principalmente a sus hijos siendo el quien pide el contacto en primer lugar pero también es capaz de hacerlo con el resto de los niños y no sentirse mal o incomodo al respecto.

En cuanto a otros jugadores esto si que es más difícil que lo lleguen a conseguir, siendo las únicas excepciones hasta el momento q!Baghera, q!Foolish y q!Bagi (Al menos hasta donde yo puedo recordar) e incluso con esto solo han sido en ocasiones especiales, cuando esta consolando o esta muy emocionado por algo, aunque esta última barrera ha estado un poco más difuminada con forme pasa el tiempo, por ejemplo con q!Foolish pues ha legado a ser el mismo q!Bad quien ha pedido un abrazo, lo que me lleva a mi último punto

¿Qué pide q!Bad a cambio de todo esto?

Nada, él nunca a llegado a pedir nada a cambio de todo lo que hace, aprecia mucho cuando los demás lo reconocen y ha llegado a expresar su descontento por sentirse utilizado, más bien que lo "dan por sentado" pero esto no se lo dice a los demás, solo se lo ha llegado a expresar a sus hijos, por eso pequeños actos logran cambiar totalmente su actitud.

A lo que quiero llegar con esto es que no siento que se aprecie lo suficiente lo completo que es este cubito en ese sentido, se sabe que es muy problemático, muy testarudo pero se puede llegar a olvidar su lado amoroso, el cual no esta oculto, simplemente se ha vuelto tan común que no creo que se le de la relevancia que necesita.

q!Bad es un personaje totalmente en escala de grises y eso lo vuelve alguien muy genial para analizar porque cuando crees que has entendido algo te sorprendes con alguna otra cosa, para ser un demonio es un personaje totalmente humano

So what is the best way to celebrate all of this? Well, why not resurrect an old Livejournal tradition from the days of yore?

What is a Kinkmeme? A kinkmeme is an event where someone requests a prompt and/or pairing, and someone fills that request - all anonymously.

When? Signups start on February 25th, 2024, midnight CET, and end on March 24th 2024. You will have time to finish your prompt fills until April 7th, 2024.

Where? You can submit and fill the prompts here on AO3 starting on the February 25th, 2024.

Who? The kinkmeme is open to anyone!

However, if you have any doubts or suggestions just send us an ask!

RULES

All work lengths are accepted: you can submit anything between a drabble (100 words) and a long-fic. Multi-chaptered fics are welcome too!

I think what's worse with Pomme saying "it's inevitable, isn't it?" to Bad is the signs in the back accompanying it. She and Bad just had a conversation a few minutes ago. And it shows itself onto the signs in the back, "Dad.. ? Dad, I want to make you a promise. Whatever happens, I will be there, always I will stay here." The conversation they had before was Pomme promising her dad that whatever happens, she still wants to stay with him and be there for him, that she will do anything to protect him. You can't see the other signs that continue that conversation, but she says that she loves him. That she cherishes every moment she has with him and thanks him for being a part of her life.

She wants her dad to know how much she cares for him while he seems stable. She's just a little girl that's so devoted to the ones she loves. She wants to do so much. An even further sign in the back "MEDS FOR DAD, Take care plz we love you" on top of a backpack she prepared for him. It's a sign of her devotion. A sign of her wanting the best for him, her love. She's been trying to help him with health potions, she's been trying and trying even before they transferred to the other part of the island. She has mentioned before during a Pomme-time that she wants to have hope for her dad. She wants to have hope in that he will okay because he says that he will be. But it's getting more obvious that It's not working. Not when he's causally talking about how he's dying slowly, how he has talked to her and Tallulah about death not needing to be such a sad thing - how it means that person has impacted you so much but they'll never truly be gone even if you think they are. How he sometimes doesn't act like himself, forgetting who she is in a second and then remembering her in the next, disregarding her feelings about explosions, his face becoming more blue then ever and she doesn't fully understand why. It's reaching to a point that Pomme asks him, "it's inevitable, is it?" She isn't sure she can have hope about the situation anymore. It's inevitable. She can't help her dad, despite how much she wants to protect him with her health potions. He's going to die. When he does, she knows he won't be gone for long because that's what he keeps saying. Even though, she's still going to be losing her dad in some aspect and she doesn't want it. She might be starting to accept it - that it will happen regardless of what she does. She's still going to be there for him, that's the promise she made to him.

And when he says, "Everything is inevitable to some respect, Pomme." It's just further confirming what Pomme knows, even as he goes on to talk about mountains crumbling and sometimes how they crumble when a person isn't around to see it or sometimes they don't crumble. The last end of his sentence ends with, "It's a part of life, mountains rising and crumble and you just got to deal with it." She says again that she made a promise. Even if he's going to crumble like a mountain and it's going to be in front her. She's staying, despite how much it'll hurt. She will be there, all out of love.

Watching yesterday's vod just made me feel emotional and Pomme's signs in the back made me feel 10x worse with her inevitable sign

Yea the CC reactions are mostly just for drama, I'd hope, but it's also clear they don't actually remember wtf they did during Purgatory and seem encouraged by/enjoy the fandom's bloodlust to bully Bad.

Like I kinda assume they're joining in on the bullying so they don't get bullied. Cuz some have to literally re-write history and make up reasons in order to hate on him. Like once during P2 Bagi said she hated Bad for burning GGN's base and blaming Bolas for it, and even after being corrected still wants to hate on him regardless. That's crazy.

Also personally I think Tubbo should be mad at himself for day 12. He literally let Cellbit go, showing him mercy, and took on an equal fight with Slime to where he had to retreat after it. If he had done the same thing Red team did to Bad and spawnkilled Cellbit things probably would have been different. Instead he shows more mercy to Cellbit, even now, than he does to Bad by forgiving Cellbit spawnkilling Bad and blaming Bad for his own spawnkill.

(And by spawnkill I mean someone freshly respawned who immediately goes to get their stuff with nothing on them and is killed again by the same attacker within minutes.)

the boogeyman effect following Bbh from purgatory 1 has been a very fascinating phenomenon.

there is alot of residual and lingering opinions of Bad from both characters and fans and its been interesting because having watched Bads pov he really didnt do anything more then what others did in purgatory. Q!Phil is mad because Bad terrorized his team but bad had far less kills then Tubbo, and plenty other teams were around terrorizing others Fit slaughtered Tina and soulfires farmers (most of which then never returned)

Q!Tubbo is mad for ‘day 12’ for a poor decision Bad made, but Bad was carrying the team mostly alone for many many hours the whole 2 weeks (the most out of anyone on the team) I think he could be forgiven for not having the clearest decision making skills running ragged and getting killed.

Q!Bagi feels betrayed by bad and has been more comfortable around tubbo since p1 but tubbo murdered her before she could say a word in p1 and Bad asked for her consent first before doing so.

Q!Etoiles is salty about the 2v1 but he and Fit started it by attacking tubbo alone who then had to run to bad and it was a 2v2 before then becoming a 2v1 as Fit backed away injured

Q!Phil has also mentioned that bad has not taken responsibility for his actions and this is echoed a lot in fan spaces but Bad is constantly taking on blame for things he may have only been adjacent too. He’s said he’s killed a lot of people, he jokes that he’d do it again. He doesnt often show remorse for his actions which I think is more what some are after but he does acknowledge things he doesn’t pretend it never happened. He told Pepito he was a monster. And anytime some express anger towards bad he respects their feelings (that doesn’t mean he’d chose to act differently or feel remorse in such actions but he doesn’t tell anyone theyre not allowed to feel that way)

its a fascinating subject to me because this effect has carried over so strongly within the space despite the fact Bad didn’t even have the highest kills in p1 for soulfire (it was Tubbo by quite a margin) yet Tubbo is often unnamed as the wrongdoer. Bagi set up Bad for death, while it didn’t come to fruition she still did that to Bad. Bad could not do anything but run when red team took on the bounty system which was excruciating to watch. Red also showed no mercy when the boats arrived and killed Bad the sole player for blue leaving his body in a zone that would kill a naked player.

Bad did do wrong he spawn killed Jaiden. However his stalking home bases and killing others in general was no different then all of the other skilled players repertoire. Bad had to play offensively for his team the majority of the time as he was one of the few that could, yet the boogeyman effect holds onto him and warps even his own members perceptions after the fact. Q!Tina as an example very enthusiastic about letting Bad loose in p1 too then scolding him for actions he took under her instruction.

The fan narrative has been the most acutely difficult to manage as the effect is almost to mystic proportions and finding disdain for even mundane actions Bad takes and reading into those as disingenuously as possible always set on more then retribution but truly an end to his character. Which again having watched Bads POV I havent been able to discern anything remarkable that any other character hasnt also partook in.

The difference I have noted is that Bad will always consider himself in the wrong regardless if his actions had justifiable reason behind it. Dapper told Bad to win in purgatory. After purgatory Bad put himself and Dapper down as ‘oh thats just something Dapper would say hes just bloodthirsty, but narratively Dapper has committed self harm in order to protect his siblings and other islanders ((an issue Dapper unfortunately sees in his father and perpetuates himself)) believing he is nothing more then a tool to help those he loves, he would not risk his siblings lives for bloodthirsty humor. Bad knows this but when faced with the hate others saw in him he waves off both his and his sons merit buckling down. Bad and Dapper have dark humor but are always making gifts and finding ways to help others. There is nothing on the island Bad is more set to protect then the eggs and this thought with Dappers message, Q!Bad really thought he needed to go all out to protect them, even still he held back a lot and would 2nd guess because he wanted to be absolutely certain of the egg’s safety.

He wasnt without reason yet with the boogeyman effect looming over his reasons never seem to be able to hold a candle to the more popular characters, and he often concedes a lot to it. He says it with a laugh, tease, and is sassy with it but still he concedes to others perceptions of him as he doesnt want to override others feelings. It can be a bit exhausting as things are blown out of proportion to what they were in originality but on a social breakdown of how things and information travels its very very interesting and I have been enjoying the dive even if it stings sometimes with reflective thoughts.
