"Shadows of History: Brahminical Influence and India's Struggle for Freedom"
Jai Bhim to all.
The conflict often mischaracterized as the initial struggle for independence against the British in 1857 was actually triggered by British violations of traditional Manu laws. This included punishment of Brahmins, erosion of Brahmin authority, and expanded opportunities in education and employment for Shudras.
In response, figures like Tantia Tope, a Konkani Brahmin, collaborated with other prominent Brahmins to strategize. With the nominal leadership of Bahadur Shah Jafar, figures like Nana Saheb, Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, and Sadashiba Rao Peshwa prepared for conflict.
The British, understanding the plot, suppressed the rebellion, targeting Brahmins and placing a bounty on their heads. Many Brahmins went underground, disguising themselves as ascetics or Babas (eg. Saibaba).
The introduction of the Indian Penal Code in 1860 marked a seismic shift, departing from Manu laws by instituting uniform punishment regardless of caste. The IPC now mandated death for resistance to British rule.
For years, Brahmins waited, wary of British reprisal, much like during Buddha and Ashoka's era and later in the 19th century.
By 1875, Dayananda Saraswati founded the Arya Samaj. Yet, Brahmins hesitated to act openly, fearing British retaliation.
In 1884, Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, and Bipin Chandrapal founded Congress under the name Home Rule, appointing A.O. Hume as its first president.
Brahmins sought to temper British anger by signaling an alliance through Hume. Yet, the British saw through the ploy and dismissed it.
Later, Tilak assumed Congress presidency, realizing broader support was needed beyond Brahmins. He engaged with other community leaders, like Chhatrapati Sahu Maharaj and Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule, but faced skepticism.
Phule's seminal work "Gulamgiri" underscored the need to challenge Brahminical dominance even before British departure. Phule's ideas galvanized the Mulnivasi, leading to skepticism of Brahmin leadership.
The Ganesh Nimajjana Utsav, initiated by Tilak, sought to unify Indians under Brahmin auspices, catalyzing support for independence.
Previously, Shivaji's festival was Maharashtra's primary celebration. Phule's unearthing of Shivaji's legacy highlighted Brahminical opposition to Shudra rule. Annual events like Bhima Koregaon served as reminders of Brahminical treachery.
Brahmins leveraged festivals like Ganesh Nimajjana to suppress their history of exploitation, fostering religious unity and support for their independence movement.
Through strategic propaganda, they recast Shivaji as a symbol of Hindu self-respect, obscuring their own antagonism towards Shudras and Mulnivasis, currently trending as Hindu-Muslim clashes in the name of Hindutva.

Black History of Ugadi/Yugadi/Gudi Padwa
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After ascending to the throne, Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj, the son of Shivaji Maharaj, took up the mantle to fulfill the unfinished work initiated by his father, Chhatrapati Shivaji. Manusmriti, a text previously exclusive to Brahmins, imposed stringent regulations on Sudras, denying them basic rights such as education and property ownership. Upon deeply studying Vedic scriptures, Puranas, and Manusmriti, Maharaj concluded that Buddhism was the path forward for the nation. Subsequently, he authored a book titled "Buddha Bhushanam" to propagate Buddhist doctrines. This action greatly incensed the Brahmins, who were further aggravated when Maharaj embarked on a mission to educate other Shudra castes, unifying them in the process.
The threat to their principles as outlined in Manusmriti instigated turmoil among the Brahmins. They joined forces with the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb to counter this significant challenge to their orthodox beliefs. Subsequently, conspiring with Aurangzeb, the Brahmins orchestrated the arrest of Shambhaji Maharaja and his followers. The captives were then handed over to the Brahmins.
In accordance with the punishments dictated by Manusmriti for Sudras, Shambhaji Maharaja was subjected to severe torture, including the gouging out of his eyes, skinning him alive, cutting out his tongue, and ultimately brutal murder at the hands of the Brahmins. His head was severed, and the heads of his followers were impaled on swords and paraded in Poona.
"This is the fate of those who defy the Brahmins," proclaimed the Peshwa Brahmins of that era, warning the populace against challenging Brahmanism.
During the reign of Sambhaji Maharaja, especially the Untouchables (today's SCs), experienced upliftment. After his demise, unable to bear the sight of Shambhaji Maharaj's abandoned body, the Untouchables performed his final rites with due respect.
However, this action incurred severe repercussions from the Brahmins. Since then, the Untouchables (SCs) were punished by wearing a clay pot around their necks anda broom around their waists. They were deemed so impure that their footprints had to be erased, and even their saliva was considered polluting. Their shadows were believed to be impure, leading to the imposition of inhumane rules upon them.
Consequently, the Brahmins orchestrated the demise of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, marking the end of the Shudra kingdom. This day is commemorated as Gudi Padwa or Ugadi/Yugadi in various regions, during which Brahmins symbolically carry a round utensil adorned with red cloth and a stick, reminiscent of the skulls of Shudras paraded on swords during Maharaj's time.
The Brahmins assert that Ugadi signifies Yugadi, symbolizing the commencement of a new era- specifically, the end of Chhatrapati Shambhaji's rule and the dawn of the Brahmin Peshwas' era. The words of the Brahmins carry deeply mysterious meanings, urging careful consideration and understanding.
This encapsulates the historical significance of Ugadi/ Yugadi/Gudi Padwa...

Tumblr media

Movie of Life!
My eyes, the camera..
My brain, the memory chip..
My life, not just 2hrs Story but a 100 years long Story..
Every moment, twists and turns, the screenplay..
Every experience, an emotion..
I am the movie, that I watch..
I am the movie, that I make..
I am the best movie, I've ever seen..
Oh! So many 'I' and 'My'... Am I too egoistic? Not at all! Everyone thinks their's is the best story!
If mine alone is so amazing, then every moment of every person, dead or alive, must be really amazing..
Then, every moment of every living creature must be an amazing movie, a documentary worth Sir Attenborough's narration..
Then, every moment of the Cosmos as a whole, must be an extraordinary movie..
To be alive and to realise the reality behind this transformation of atoms into thinking brains, this evolution is an incredible movie..
To look out into space, for life elsewhere, with the technology developed by the human genius..
That, the very atoms that could not think, are thinking about themselves, and beyond..
That, the microscopic order, evolving into chaotic disorder..
The learning of itself - the Science..
The understanding of itself, the beginning and the end..
All this through us Humans, as the instruments, to uncover itself, the universe is playing a mega mega Movie..
Those who understand through logic, and proof call it science..
Those who cannot and/or do not want to, call it God, or may have other definition/beliefs for God.
Those who get fanatic about God, destroy the whole excitement of life, in the name of a prescribed Religion...
A blind belief/faith destroys this freedom to see, observe and experience the reality beyond what is prescribed in the sacred scriptures(story/history)..
Alas the age of oldest sacred story is younger than 5000 years, incomparable to the Cosmic Story of 13,800,000,000 years, or Earth's Story of 4,500,000,000 years.
A stone on earth is a million times older than the book, hence, is that why the stone is carved and worshiped 😉?
(I guess the religion makers were not that intelligent to think so intricately about creation, their intelligence was mediocre and gross on how to exploit one another in the name of belief, to keep them as goats who just follow, rather than question.
God and Religion hate being questioned, Science loves being questioned, everything and itself!)
But nobody knows the whole movie for certain, our lives are just parallel scenes and glimpses of a multi-dimensional movie, which has as many dimensions as the number of entities involved..
**(Belief/Faith and Freedom-of-thought are basic human rights! Everyone is free to believe what they wish to. I don't BELIEVE anything, nor willing to compromise on any BELIEF, that doesn't have logic, reason and proof - both intellectually as well as experientially). NEXT post on BELIEF.. coming up

I realise this question has no direct or simple answer however I have been wondering and while I have my own views on this I'd want to understand from other perspective too. What do you feel about India's pandemic response? Do you feel Indian healthcare was prepared for it? And how did it fare overall, did it do better than expected or not?And how is it going currently.. both the vaccination and the containment. If you would like to link to some other posts instead of answering or even if you'd like to do both or just anything.. I'd like to hear your take!
I appreciate that you wanted to know my opinion. Thanks
I look at covid numbers as a proportionality indicator to mismanagement and corrupt countries by their Ranking.
In the beginning it was one country after another. Europe, especially germany did a great job, since I've seen it live whilst comparing India. Many countries with well educated leaders, especially women leaders, have done an excellent job in containing, spreading-awareness and taking prompt action.
I see growth of any thing, as an exponential curve and the math involved which reaches it's peak growth stage...growth of anything in nature for example
From seed - sapling - to a tree..
Few cells multiply at slower rate, then increased rate, stabilize and reach it's full growth.. So if you check the graphs of each country of covid trend, they follow a similar pattern exponentially, like the Fibonacci series..
So coming back to why India was struggling. A great leader who is father of the family called India, was interested not in wellbeing of its people. Corona didn't enter India without a notice. It gave several months time, all countries were suffering when India still had handful cases, which if taken care of wouldn't explode. And fact that India is a chaotic and most populated Nation, controlling is a big issue, so prevention is better than cure. But we successfully ignored all warnings, and felt proud by boasting that corona wouldn't enter Indian blood. Somany mismanaged events, I mentioned in my Cowman post. But the greatness of this government is that any issue, however serious it may be, can be successfully translated to a Communal, religious problem. They complained Tablighi Jamaat, but forgot Trump visit when CAA NRC protests were going on big time parallely in Delhi.
Corona was a boon to this government, to suppress CAA protests, abolish Constitution, remove Education, sell govt Institutions, and many more.. So is it unknown in first wave that prerequisite for treatment of covid is oxygen? But ignore, "kuch bhi Karo, log chup baithenge" attitude..
A doctor protested in Andhra for Mask. He was dismissed, after a week his head tonsured, beaten on the street, and confirmed mentally sick.. After 30 years of service as a chief doctor. So the reason wasn't the protest, the reason was his identity. A dalit, how dare he?
So looking at India, the problem is not covid, the problem is the disease of discriminating, deeply engrained in the heads of a few. To protect this disease, to retain their power, they will do anything, let alone use corona to abuse, rob them and enslave them for their benefits, not only pandemic, but anything that gives them a chance to abuse. Hence their loyal prime minister will remain silent, shed crocodile tears, avoid Media Interview, allow mass gatherings in second wave, sell vaccines, block state capital funds, make them fight among themselves. Be a good leader!
So it's it inevitable for corona to spread?
Yes it is, but the regulation is what matters.. The graph will anyways rise, but slowing down was in our hands, and thus avoiding several deaths by managing hospitals. An overcrowded hospital can do no help, but inspite of this some took benefit by exploiting people done by the corrupt hospitals. Who are these corrupt people, are those that aren't scared of committing any mistake, because they have a superior surname.
Germany was aware of this exponential graph, hence the main concentration was to contain, and slowdown l it's progress, which inevitably will grow anyways, but slow was the key.
Not only India rocked it in second wave, it created new variants which will rebound back and hit hard in coming wave. The vaccination drive is snail pace. Cowman Media is praising showers, but there is severe scarcity of vaccines. The problem with India is the intention and willingness to face and fight the problem sincerely, never existed. MANY looking to profit themselves, MANY thinking about their own safety, MANY ignored and helpless. But inspite of all this, how did India come out of trouble?
It is not the Government at all, it's those FEW with humanity throbbing, who took responsibility into their own hands, volunteering day and night and saved the Nation as a whole.
This is not the end of covid. This is just a phase. People are like goats and like to follow a herd. And their greatest relief is getting out of a problem, and they don't think the root cause of all these problems, once they are solved. They carry on.. They only realise the severity when they are faced again.. And again forget after a while. This is the education system we have, not to question anything.
Memorise whatever is taught!
Memorise whatever happened in past! Forget and do nothing about it, question nothing..
I was disturbed when the daily wagers were stranded after Lockdown announcement. Had the intention of the Government been for the wellbeing of it's people, it would have run it's last trains and buses to send them home. But people forget, that the root cause of this misery was soully and soully the government alone, but people sympathize those who are suffering.
It's not sympathy that's needed, what's needed is to question the root cause for them to be sympathized in the first place..
I hope I have given you an overview of my flow of thoughts..

Of the Wants..
What you don't have is what you want,
What you want is all you have,
What you have is what you keep,
What you keep is what you later don't want,
Eventually all that you wanted is all that you don't want,
All that you keep is all that you want to discard.

SAD - guru! Jaggi!
You successfully herded a bunch of slaves, and converted men to goats!
Have you forgotten to be aware?
Of the nature's law of herd?
That one individual turning back,
will bring the whole herd against your track,
Of your whims and fantasies?
[oh yeah, impose that as moksha]
But Jaggi, all we have is one life..
let us live, and stop recommending death/moksha!
Why don't you rather die?
That you don't have the skill of your wife?
Or did you strangle her?
Like the way you strangle the conscious minds with your concocted palter?
