Yeah, my interest in DC has vanished completely, and I dont see it picking up any time soon so I'm archiving this blog and moving on.

If anyone still wants to talk to me, my discord is still active, or you can find me on my new blog @chardonnaywashere . It's focused on a very tiny fandom, and not super active though.

About that ask w/ Danny, what characters have acted worse than him but don't get hate? I'm curious since I have yet to read NTT.

Okay, I don't want to list all of the characters who've done worse things than Danny - but I mean, it's not like it's hard to find a character who was worse than just occasionally bratty - just because I don't want to get into debates with fans of other characters who misconstrue what I'm saying, so I'll just do one that I am a fan of.

Damian Wayne is the best character to use for this because they're so very similar. Raised by shady organizations who exposed them to horrible things,  and treated them as tools, check. Sent off to stay with heroes by their parents (both of Danny's, and Damians mom) check. Think this makes them more qualified than the people around them, check. Frustrated with how the heroes do things, check. Come to view those heroes as family, check. Both similarly aged children who needed to be removed from that life and given something better.

To be fair, Damian did get some backlash for becoming Robin it even took me a little while to warm up to him, and like all the Robins, he does still get hate. Thing is, Damian was given the opportunity to grow on all of us, and aside from some outliers,  most of us love him. Everything Danny did, Damian did worse, but Dami has a lot of defenders, you can bring him up without so many people jumping in to inform you of how much of a brat he was. Danny has some really sweet moments with the other Titans that just about nobody will ever recognize. 

If you're going off just that one scene with Dick that seems to be all people bring up when Danny's concerned; the entire batfam said worse things about Jason's death than "he understood the risks", which was all Danny said on the matter.

I love both of these characters,  but the biggest difference between them was that one was directly related to DCs biggest cash cow and the other will probably never be mentioned again, and that makes me sad.

Jason and Danny Chase are friends? What issues was this established in? Pre-Crisis? The only time I know of where Danny ever talked about Jason was when the Titans came back from that mission on Tamaran and found out he had died. And Danny was really insensitive towards his death while Dick cried his eyes out even though he barely knew Jason post-Crisis.

It's from NTT #52:

And all we really have regarding a friendship between Jason and Danny specifically is this, where Jason is already dead. So we know they were in contact and familiar enough that Danny had a nickname for Jason (he also called him the Brat Wonder earlier, which I find funny) and that's it.

Unfortunately, Jason's last appearance in NTT was before Danny joined the team, and Danny himself was killed off (via explosion saving everyone else) not long after this.

Also, kind of in defense of Danny, he wasn't as bratty as people today make him out to be. He was going through some stuff here, which Raven picks up on:

Fourteen year old kid gets to be moody when he's used to people dying all around him and now he can't get in touch with his parents who are in a very dangerous profession.

A little earlier in this issue:

Yes, he's moody that he's been left behind, but considering everything it reads more to me that he's stressed, because at this point he can't find any information about a friend he's just found out might be dead, he didn't actually know that until later. This on top of again not knowing if his parents are alive while he's dependant on people he does know don't like him.

It's a lot, and he's only FOURTEEN years old. He's all on his own when he gets kicked out of the Titans later, and he still shows up at the first sign of trouble to help and willingly sacrifices himself to save them.

There are characters who've behaved way worse than Danny and don't get nearly the amount of hate he does. He was a kid and he deserved a lot better than what he got ☹.

Sorry for turning your ask into a tangent, lol, the baby is just one of my favorite characters, and I love him so ❤.

Jason loves his friend so much, and Eddie IS the coolest and nicest guy around 😭. They're such precious little babys.

An idea @shauds presented to me, they wanted Bluejay Jason to meet future evil Kid Devil (from Teen Titans 2003, issue 51), I decided to add in little Kid Devil too.

Decided not to color it, so I put a bit more effort into inking.

I'm pretty sure the Brad Wayne post has broken me.

Here I am, two days later, trying to work when BAM Brad is back in my head.

All I can think about how from Brad's ordinary perspective most of his family is a bunch of FAILURES.

His eldest brother is a college drop out who does a bunch of odd blue-collar jobs, so Brad tries to encourage him to "give college a try, you can DO it" and brings around study materials and stuff. And Dick -trained by Batman- Grayson is absolutely gnashing his teeth.

To make it worse, as far as Brad knows, Jason, Tim and Cass are ALL highschool dropouts. So Brad feels like he's a genius in their midst, he's kinda condescendingly encouraging towards them.

And the absolute gem is he treats Damian as an actual grade schooler. And Damian has been charged with keeping the cover intact so he has to pretend to be a CHILD around Brad. It drives Damian crazy. Since Brad came to the manor, Damian no longer claims he's superior to the other batkids due to his "blood", because his blood has related him to the embarassment that is Brad and he'd much rather have his adopted sibs only, thank you very much. Damian has become much more appreciative of his batsiblings.

Wanted to draw Nocturna and Jason, practicing my inking more.

Nocturna is an interesting character, very dramatic and kinda goofy (unintentionally tho). I loved how she became a sort of mother figure to Jason. Just like Jason, she became a totally different character after crisis. Hope one day these two meet again.

The frog is the hero of this piece I think.

Here's a little comic story, a sequel kinda from that Bluejay post, wanted to introduce Cass and Steph in this little au, one day I should do the other kids. But don't have any ideas for them at the moment.

I included both colored and uncolored, not too proud of my coloring (was watching anime, so I rushed it.) I didn't color the backgrounds because I'm lazy.

Okay, oh my goodness, I binged all 38 chapters of Tell Me A Story today and I am now incredibly emotional and sleep deprived, but I can't bring myself to regret it because that was the best Jaysteph story I have ever read (and I have read some really good ones) But I am dying because you said the next chapter would be a quick update and you lied and it's been a year and feel free to ignore this, I just love it but am slightly heartbroken and hoping that you'll finish it once you have time

Seriously though, I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed the story, and very flattered you binged it all like that ♡.

I did mean to update it soon after that, but some stuff happened that's made it a little hard to get into the JaySteph mood the way I used to. I still love them, but writing for them has been difficult. Hopefully I'll get over it and be able to give you the ending someday.

So it's established that Robin!Jason was tiny. Like. I know, I know, there's the posts lately going, 'HAVE YOU SEEN A TEENAGER' and the answer is yes but canonically, he was like 4'6 or something at time of death, so. Sorry. He was a teeny bitty baby.

But y'know what fun side effect that had? And by 'fun', I mean 'being Robin was a mistake fuck you Batman'?

The Working Girls. They're going to see him and squee and go 'OH MY GOD HE'S SO CUTE MIA MIA C'MERE LOOK AT HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM' and unfortunately, he's just going to have to stand there and suffer. >-)

(There is no escape as Red Hood, either, because a good chunk of these ladies are still around, and they know, and they have no qualms about standing around going, 'remember when he was so cute, when he'd puff up like a little angry pigeon?' and he's just stuck there sulking because why me why this I got my growth spurt and I'm not cute now.)
