Thinking about early morning train rides with modern Genshin characters..... (Inspired by my commute to and from places in Melbourne)

Xiao, the ever early riser who's already got a drink in a travel cup for you.

The short walk in the crisp morning air to the station near your apartment before standing on the packed train, huddled close to each other as you hold on.

The ride to your university is only a few short minutes, but it's minutes of bliss. The idle chatter of high schoolers around you, the sun pouring through the crowded train, and Xiao's hand on the small of your back.

He grabs your hand when it's your stop, pulling you through the people and off the train, as if you wouldn't make it through the doors if he wasn't holding you, despite having made the trip dozens of times.

Not many words are spoken during the journey, but more than enough things are said in the way you huh before parting for class.

Freminet, who wakes up on time to get ready for the long train ride home, but doesn't want to get out of bed with you.

You'd spent the night in the city, and now had to catch the early train home.

Being a cold morning, neither want to leave the comfort of the bed, warmed by two bodies sleeping there the night before.

The playlist that got set as your alarm continues to cycle through songs, your liked playlist being a mix of all sorts.

When you finally get up it's a rush to the station, tea half finished and toast messily eaten.

Once finally on the train, Freminet lets out a sigh and leans on you. It was a long ride back home. At least the morning sun on Freminet's gold hair and freckled face was a sight you never bore of.

...

Furina always acted like using public transport didn't make her anxious, but in reality she planned your entire trip as well as a back up the week before.

So when she double checks and sees trains are being replaced by coaches after 9am, she panics.

You have to catch a metro train from your current location at 8:05 to the main station which gets in at 8:18 in time for the last regional train at 8:35.

You could only chuckle as Furina fusses on the metro, convinced you're somehow going to miss the next train..

It doesn't help that the train is late by 5 minutes.

When you're both finally on the regional train home, she relaxes into her window seat.

Despite the residual panic on her face, you couldn't deny she looked stunning contrasted against the view of the city in the morning light.

Lyney and who's loyalty to you is rivalled only by who loyalty to Father.

It used to be something he took pride in, and you did too. You both often went on missions together.

This mission should've been simple. In and out.

In- no problem.

Out..

Never happened.

It was a set up.

Now here you both were, tied up, facing each other, being interrogated about Father's plans.

It started simple- a slap, a punch, a shallow cut.

Nothing you couldn't handle.

Although somewhere along the way, your captors realised Lyney has more desirable knowledge than you

They also figured out your relationship to each other.

So, they focused on you.

Pulling a nail. Dislocating a limb. Maybe 2. More beatings. More cuts.

Lyney begged them to stop, begged you to be strong.

You tried.

They started carving words into your arms and legs.

"Useless"

"whore"

"unreliable"

That's when you broke.

Screaming. Crying. Begging the Tsaritsa to save you, begging Father to save you.

Begging everyone but Lyney because you know his loyalty would not let him betray Father.

He cried. His pleading became hoarse chokes and whimpers.

It was days. Maybe months.

You no longer scream or cry. Lyney doesn't even think you're alive.

But they still desecrate your body. Lyney learned not to look, yet when he does, be doesnt recognise you.

He's so used to seeing you beaten and bruised, he doesn't fully remember what you look like.

When he's finally saved by Lynette and Freminet, he barely registers their gasps of horror.

It's a blur, the following days.

He continues missions and performances as if nothing happened.

But at night he still hears you. Still sees you.

Lyney's loyalties for Father have always been his top priority.

But for once in his life, he questions where his loyalties should have lay.

He's running. He doesnt know why, or where. Until he sees you.

He's running to you- nothing unusual, he thinks. He loves you.

Only he's not feeling love, it's fear.

You're bleeding, falling to your knees.

No matter how much he runs, he can't get closer.

He's trying.

He can't reach you!

'i thought you loved me..'

He does! He tries to shout but all that comes out is air.

You go limp. Suddenly he's right in front of you, holding your already rotten corpse.

His voice won't come out. He can't tell you. You're...

...

He wakes in a sweat. The only thing that calms him is feeling the pulse of your neck under his palm from where he's cupped your jaw as you both fell asleep.

He watches the rise and fall of your chest, the neutral yet content expression on your face, the feeling of your hand on his waist.

He opens his mouth, scared that his voice still hasn't returned from the realm of slumber..

'I love you..'

He whispers.

'I love you, I love you.'

Tears well. He refuses to let them fall.

He moves closer, pulling you to his chest. He places his chin atop your head and let's put a breath.

He feels your hold tighten.

But you don't say anything. You know him. You know he's still not great with talking about these things.

So you just hold him, and reply

'i love you too.'

In response to the responses to my Wriothsley post from months ago...

For context, I added my piece to a chain of posts talking about their opinions on what Wriothsley did to Lyney and his siblings. I mentioned I didn't like how he handled the situation and I disliked how traveller acted after the situation. I also comment on some things to do the fatui and Childe and travellers opinions on said characters. The post is on my blog if you'd like to read

guys I don't hate Wriothsley and I'm not saying he should be different simply because I say so, and I'm not trying to come across as biased or like everyone should agree with me. This is MY opinion and MY take on how it all went down. This was just after the archon quest before we got his story quest or anything else. To the people who literally messaged me from throwaway accounts saying to off myself for disliking aspects of their favourite character- grow up. I do like Wriothsley as a character, I just don't like or agree with his takes on things, and how traveller responds to certain events. I know I can't change it, and I know people don't agree. If you don't agree with what I'm saying just move on, or if you have something to add feel free to do so, but at least be RESPECTFUL. I've had people reblog with their own opinions and I love that because I love reading what other people think! It's the people who reblog and call me names and call me controlling and stupid that take the fun out of discussion and debates.

There will always be aspects of characters people dislike- and it's not the same for everyone. There are people who hate Childe, who hate Diluc, who hate Yae miko, and various other characters for various reasons.

I don't hate Wriothsley, I just disagree with him, and that post was my reasons why.

I felt the need to make this NOW because for whatever reason more people are seeing that post, and ive gotten more than a few unsavoury responses to it.

Please be respectful of my opinions and the opinions of other players.

(obviously I know there are some opinions out there that are seriously controversial and not ok, but I don't think disagreeing with a character is one of those.)

When you were younger, the three of you made matching braided thread bracelets.

Somewhere along the process of aging when fashion became a worry, Tomo turned his into an accessory on the hilt of his sword, and Kazuha used his to hold his vision.

As the three of you grew, so too did your feelings.

Tomo and Kazuha confessed to each other first.

Of course you were happy for them- of course you were also jealous. You wanted to be the one to card your fingers through Kazuha's hair. You wanted to be the one to lull Tomo to sleep in the night when his thoughts kept him awake.

So, you distanced yourself.

You left the happy couple to enjoy their lives together...

It wasn't long before they dragged you back to them.

And so the happy couple became a happy throuple.

Kazuha loved you and you loved Tomo and Tomo loved Kazuha and Kazuha loved Tomo and Tomo loved you and you loved Kazuha.

Everything was perfect.

Until lightning struck...
