Tw: some mentions of SA and rape (which are untouched topics on this blog)
I feel like OP gave off a 'holier-than-thou' vibe (kinda like 'you have kinks?? EWWW'), but that could just be me. This is basically telling both readers and writers to stop enjoying what they want to. There's a reason people write/read fiction about dark topics, or would you rather they go and rape someone outside their house instead (basically doing it irl)?
In fact, if I sit down and think about it, doesn't fiction of bad stuff shed light onto it and spreads more awareness about it to people?
I'm not someone that has been a victim of SA, but just because one victim of SA doesn't want to read about it, doesn't mean others don't as well. People cannot tell you how you should cope, how you should react, how you should this and that blablabla. Of course, unless you're harming yourself (which, if you think reading/writing this stuff that is FICTION I remind you, you're just chronically online 💀)
If anyone comes into my ask box to send hate, then God help me, you're the one that needs to touch grass and get a therapist. Perhaps learn to read so you can see the trigger warnings, as well as learn how to differentiate reality and fiction.
stop making fanfics about characters raping and sexually assaulting y/n, you are fucking disgusting people who romanticize a serious crime that happens every day to children and women
"but that's just reading dark romance" that's not a dark romance, that's just the stuff of a horrible fetish, IF YOU HAVE A RAPE FETISH, GO SEEK FOR FUCKING PSYCHIATRIST HELP!!!!!!!!!!

now...what do i do with my little troublemaker? | jade leech
Jade surprises you on your birthday (which you didn't tell him about).
A/N: It's my birthday (31st March) I'm 19 now! Here's to a year of growth and love, thank you for the love and support you've given me thus far <3 fem!reader here!

Jade felt like he could slap a fish out of water right now.
One glance at the scowl -that was very much out of place for the eel- decorating his visage and one could tell he was not himself.
"Hey, Jade~ when are you gonna pull out the surprise gift or celebration for your favourite little shrimpy?" His twin had questioned him as early as 8 in the morning. Their walk to school was brought to a temporary halt, with him shooting Floyd a somewhat confused look.
"Whatever do you mean by that, Floyd?"
It was Floyd's turn to be confused. "You didn't know? Today's her birthday, she didn't tell you that? Or did it just slip your mind...that's not like you, eh~?" A small giggle left his lips. However, the amusement was short-lived as Floyd noticed the complete silence from Jade. Even someone as scary as him would never want to know what ran through his twin's mind whenever he refused to utter a single word.
The other students, also walking to the main building repelled from the pair that stopped right in the middle of the street. Had they been some insignificant students, they would've been ridiculed and possibly (read: most definitely) been involved in some sort of scuffle. But these were not some randoms one could brush off so easily, this was the feared pair of twins, notorious for their scheming smiles and otherworldly strength.
However, in this very moment, even Floyd was unnerved with his twin. Slowly but surely, a small smile crept its way onto Jade's face before he opened his mouth to speak. "Thank you for the reminder, Floyd. Perhaps it did slip my mind...silly me. Let us continue our journey."
Floyd couldn't help but pout childishly as his twin walked ahead of him with quite the pace. "Wait up, Jade, you're walking too fast~"
He didn't bother to look back. They both had ridiculously long legs, surely Floyd would catch up to him in time. For now, he had a girlfriend to surprise...and perhaps, punish for a little bit for keeping her precious day a secret from her beloved.
--
"Hey, henchhuman! There's a letter for you here."
Grim's voice echoed from the front door of Ramshackle Dorm, calling for [Y/N] to make her way over to him. The envelope was intricately designed, giving off an exclusive and luxurious feel. It was even sealed with wax, and if one observed closely, the wax was stamped; a moray and a shrimp curled into each other to form a heart shape. Grim couldn't help but hold onto it carefully. He was pretty (very) sure that the envelope in his hands cost more than a lifetime of tuna.
[Y/N]'s footsteps made small thuds as she walked down the stairs. She sluggishly dragged her feet, having just gotten out of the shower and wanting nothing more to relax. Though, the slight frown on her face told a slightly different story. You see...
No one had wished her a happy birthday today. Except for Grim, who woke her up with a loud 'happy birthday!' this morning.
It wasn't like she desperately yearned for a grand celebration. All she had hoped for was for someone to remember, yet it seemed that not even her close friends, Ace and Deuce, seemed to be aware of it. Though she could tolerate that. Those two were idiots that shared a single brain cell. She was much more upset with her boyfriend.
[Y/N] was spacing out as she stood at the bottom of the stairs. A slight tug at her pants pulled her out of her trance. Looking down, she saw Grim holding out the letter to her.
"Come on, stop spacing out. Open it!"
"Alright, alright, just be patient with me for a little." She opened the envelope as carefully and delicately as she could. Inside was a golden piece of paper, the paper itself felt exclusive...like the ones she would feel in a hard cover book. The letter unfolded and presented itself, clearly having been charmed by the sender.
"Read it out loud, henchhuman! I want to know what it says." Grim cheered, a bit too short to see from his position on the floor.
[Y/N] chuckled before doing so.
"The only one I call my beloved,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to a very special event, held specially at your favourite place in Night Raven College. As the organiser, I am fully aware of your extreme tendencies to worry about your appearance, even excessively at times.
Fret not. The perfect outfit has been prepared for you. The probability of you liking said outfit has been calculated to be approximately 99.9%. Of course, should you experience the feeling of disdain upon feeling the outfit hugging your figure, my team has a broad variety for you to choose from later.
Save the date; 31st March at your most favourite place, 2 pm. Should you not turn up 30 minutes after the designated start time of the event, the team will come pick you up personally.
Much love."
[Y/N] finished reading the letter as it folded itself into its original form. She met Grim's eyes. No words were exchanged, yet they both had a knowing look in their gaze. Even if the letter wasn't signed, there was no such question as 'who could've sent this?'
Before either of them had the time to break the silence with any words, the letter changed its form. A bright ray of white light that nearly blinded them both shone in the entrance hallway. As the light dimmed down, their jaws almost dropped to the ground in shock.
The letter had turned into a stunning dress.
The dress was a combination of [Y/N]'s favourite colours in dark shades. The floor-length dress featured a fitted bodice, hugging her figure perfectly as if it was a second skin. The V-neckline was adorned with lace, which traced her collarbones delicately. The sheer long sleeves added a mystique feel to the outfit.
A satin sash cinched her silhouette at the waist, which cascaded down her back into a bow which would definitely trail elegantly if she moved. The skirt was the main attraction of the outfit, luxurious layers of chiffon and silk that flowed all the way to the floor.
The final touch of the dress was the embellished hem of the gown, delicate beads and sequins that caught the light with the slightest movement of the wearer. [Y/N] couldn't help but feel as if she had seen this dress somewhere...
Her hair was styled into a beautiful princess bun, with a few strands of hair elegantly framing her face. Her feet were adorned with a pair of low heels that clicked onto the floor just how she liked it.
"Whoa, henchhuman...he really outdid himself this time."
[Y/N] didn't know how to respond properly to that. She felt like she was in a dream.
A knock at the door broke the silence between them. It was 2.30 pm when she glanced at the clock. Ah, it was his 'team', was it?
--
[Y/N] couldn't recall much of what happened on her way to Octavinelle Dorm's Mostro Lounge. She only remembered the fear of possibly falling off from Kalim's magic carpet as it flew and sped through the school, as well as Kalim's laughter upon hearing her and Grim's screams.
The duo took deep breaths to calm themselves down. After finally getting their heartbeats stable, they observed the lounge and the decorations. They seemed to compliment [Y/N]'s dress perfectly. However, their visions were limited as the only lights present were the candles on an elegantly decorated birthday cake. Even Kalim, their guide, was nowhere to be seen.
Grim was about to push her to go over to the cake. Before he could do so, he was grabbed by a pair of arms. His mouth was also covered so that he couldn't alert [Y/N] with any sound.
She was, of course, aware of Grim's sudden disappearance as well. However, her eyesight was limited and she didn't want to risk destroying any Mostro Lounge property or she would have to pay for them out of her own pockets.
She only had one choice; to walk over to the birthday cake.
Her heels clicked on the floor. She found herself in front of the cake in no time. As soon as she stood in front of it, the lounge lit up and all her friends - from the 1st years to the 3rd years - started singing her the classic happy birthday tune. Jade stood next to her, one hand holding Grim and the other around her waist.
"Happy birthday, [Y/N]!"
The whole group took turns engulfing her into a hug, with the best one saved for last.
The lounge eventually had a lot of noise; with people eating, drinking and conversing with each other after having had the chance to hug the star of the day. After Jade had hugged her, everyone huddled up around her to witness her cutting the cake.
Quite cheesy if you asked [Y/N], but hey, it's a surprise for her. The least she could do was accept it.
--
After the final shutter of the camera for the day, her boyfriend had whisked [Y/N] away from the crowd in the lounge. She was now sat at a quiet booth in a more secluded area of the lounge with a pair of heterochromic eyes observing her every move carefully.
"Did you enjoy this celebration, dearest?"
His silky smooth and soft voice snapped her out of her trance. She nodded eagerly, excited to express her gratitude to her most beloved.
"Of course! You didn't have to Jade, really...I love anything that you do."
He couldn't help letting out a little chuckle. Oh, if she had the slightest idea of what kind of strings he pulled to execute this plan...
His right hand was placed on top of hers. Gently squeezing it, his voice dropped a few octaves along with its volume.
"Mind to enlighten me on why you didn't think to tell me today was your birthday?"
[Y/N] quite literally froze in shock. Her lips could only curl into a crooked smile as she began speaking, with a somewhat shaky voice.
"A-ah, I did, didn't I...?" She was praying to the Great Seven that she was in the right. Yet the smile on his face told her that lady luck had no luck to shine on her today.
He stroked the right side of her face with his other hand, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Don't look so fearful, my dearest, even though it is an adorable expression on you. Now...what do I do with my little troublemaker?"
[Y/N] let out a nervous chuckle. "I'm in danger."
"This dress, is the Noir Vogue dress that you eyed at the mall last week."
Her eyes widened. That's why it felt so familiar! It was the luxury brand that Jade and Floyd used a lot, though she assumed that it was a brand they consumed, not a brand their family quite literally own.
"You can keep it...only if you complete your quota of one thousand kisses daily, for a week."
"Deal!"
Thank you for reading!
Bonus: What Jade did and why no one wished [Y/N] happy birthday (in bullet point form)
Jade was absolutely pissed that he had no idea of her birthday being today. I see him as someone that would be really dedicated and somewhat possessive of his lover. The fact that her friends (like Ace and Deuce) know her birthday but not him gets his blood boiling underneath his skin.
Her friends remembered her birthday but didn't wish her birthday because...
Jade literally sent out a PSA in the groupchat without her (idk i feel like it's funny if they somehow have a group but act like they don't know each other irl LMAO) to save their wishes and gifts for the surprise party he's throwing
Quite literally threatens to ruin anyone's lives that dare say happy birthday to her before he does (except grim, cause. she literally sleeps next to grim)
Tldr; Jade is one crazy, lovesick and down bad eel

she’s my wife !
SUMMARY a series of events of your marriage life with the akademiya scribe.
CONTENTS husband!alhaitham x fem!reader headcanons. fluff. alhaitham denying his jealousy lmao.
AUTHOR’S NOTES my first post in this account ^^
Tumblr media
husband!alhaitham who often look back on past events: when he earned his first kiss from taking you out on a date, the rose-shaped necklace he gave on your birthday, his marriage proposal to you in his house with a simple golden ring but full of memories.
husband!alhaitham who, as a scholar from the haravatat darshan, didn’t immediately ask you to marry him, instead wrapping his arms around your warm neck, his other hand gently lifting your delicate fingers, lips kissing the knuckles before saying, “your eyes, your lovely eyes. i’ll never stop gazing at them, but i think the only way to do it is to spend the rest of our lives together.”
husband!alhaitham who doesn’t want the whole of sumeru city to know he’s married, knowing that his job in the akademiya would likely intervene as well. likewise, he’d also prefer a simple wedding, so you both agreed to marry with only a few people to join and hear him saying the vow: the renowned architect, the general mahamatra, even the dendro archon herself.
husband!alhaitham who always pulls you closer to his chest by wrapping your petite waist in the house of daena when no one’s looking. sure, he could do that later on, but he’s not the kind of husband who would wait for evening to come first to show how much he loves his dear wife and he had ways for it to be unnoticeable.
despite that, husband!alhaitham also knows what comes first, and of course, it’s his job as the scribe. archiving important files and classifying certain documents is the priority, but it also wouldn’t stop him from checking your condition every now and then. besides, he’s not really needed in non-essential meetings, enabling him to keep his carefree and comfortable life.
he can even confidently say that your presence as a researcher is more important than his. you’d get unexpected expiditions to the dessert and the fact that you’re his wife makes him feel a worry he never and won’t ever be used to.
husband!alhaitham who always hugs you whenever he sleeps. be it on the bed, on the couch, even when he just wants a short nap. having you in his embrace makes his sleep far cozier. moreover, he’s the big spoon. period. no matter how much you’ll beg, the cuddling position won’t change.
husband!alhaitham who, other than physical touch, suprisingly displays affection by words of affirmation. being the rational person he is, he’ll never lie to your face, always presenting you the truth, but what’s different is how he explains it. when you’re in a bad mood, needing comfort but the honest truth to be shoved into your head as well, he’d have you sitting on his lap, his arms wrapping your body as he whispers it into your ear, his voice soothing.
though aloof, husband!alhaitham can be jealous, particularly from a certain researcher who keeps sitting beside you in the library. the way that man stands close to your figure, hands creeping for yours on the table. naturally, he thinks you can’t notice it like how he does.
yet he’s in denial, the scribe is in denial, because he’s never jealous. why should he be? he’s your partner, going with you on the 5-day expedition next week. but the way he has his face close to your shoulder with the reason to have a better look on the report paper is irking him deeply.
husband!alhaitham might underestimate your eyes too much. of course you have a hinch of how the man’s trying to put his hand over your shoulder, getting flushed by your innocent teasing, hinting of refusal towards him. that’s what your husband doesn’t know, and you’re planning not to elaborate any further. seeing him holding his jealousy is an interesting sight to see.
but of course, husband!alhaitham loves you more than you can ever think of. that’s just the way he feels about you, his one and only lovely wife.

i knew you'd come to me tonight | kaeya
After a night at the symphony, Kaeya finds himself asking you out on a date.
A/N: omg!! berry writing about someone that's not alhaitham?? unbelievable, absolutely impossible!! fun fact; kaeya was my og man to thirst for before alhaitham came :D rusty writing ahead!! GN reader, do let me know if I slipped up and used he/she/anything else that isn't GN.

Kaeya didn't think he belonged in a place like this.
A reasonably sized orchestra ensemble was on the stage in front of him. Every man, woman and child were adorned in stylish and luxurious suits and dresses, topped with extravagant accessories. The crowd's eyes were glued to the performers. Only a few young children and teenagers - whom he assumed were forced by their parents to tag along - were dozing off, some even full on asleep.
He looked down at his attire. He always thought of himself as a cooler guy, with bolder fashion sense than a typical suit and tie. Of course, it mattered not if the people around him agreed with this personal take. He wasn't particularly bothered. If anything, the fact that he was dubbed as one of the two 'most wanted and sought after bachelors of Mondstadt' only assured him of the positivity of the public's opinion about him.
The orchestra eventually ended the somewhat upbeat piece. Applause from the crowd roared throughout the hall, but Kaeya wasn't contributing to the noise. He was adjusting the tie that seemed too tight on his neck. Even after decades of living in the Ragnvindr family's home, he still felt constricted in formal gear that he would call 'uptight'.
The crowd eventually calmed down for the final piece of the night. Most of the attendees of the show were here for this one performance. A special performance, accompanied by the beloved singer of Mondstadt, [Y/N]. Adorned in their most beautiful clothes yet, the audience once again filled the room with their cheers. Some, both men and women, were even yelling out their name, hoping for their gaze to land upon them.
The singer seemed used to all of the attention they were getting, but Kaeya swore he could see a glint of something else in their eyes. Perhaps it was the way their smile didn't reach their eyes. A shy person with a beautiful singing voice that easily captivated the nation's hearts, quite the interesting combination. He couldn't take his eyes off the figure on the stage, who scurried off after a few moments.
He decided that it wouldn't hurt to see that shy singer around. That shy smile never looked as beautiful on anyone else compared to on you. Feeling somewhat satisfied, he left the concert hall with a smile tugging on his lips.
--
Kaeya's boots clicked against the pavement of Mondstadt City's streets. Stood in front of the Knights' headquarters in no time, his keen eyes couldn't help but observe a rather unusual sight.
A person was hiding behind the bushes surrounding the building. He could see the cautious stance the person had while ducking behind the bushes. He couldn't help but chuckle at the comical scene he was seeing.
"Where are they?" "Ah, I could've sworn they turned here a moment ago!" A reasonably large group of citizens came into his view. Their eyes frantically searching here and there, for what - or who - he had no clue. He kept silent until one of them approached him. A man with blonde hair, presumably in his early 20's, started the conversation.
"Cavalry Captain Kaeya! Oh, what good timing to run into you now."
The captain narrowed his eyes slightly. "Is there a problem you might've gotten yourself into?"
The man shook his head eagerly, eyes lighting up before continuing. "Actually, no. But have you seen [Y/N]? We swear we saw them turning the corner here, towards the Knights' headquarters." As he ended, the group of citizens flocked over to the captain, eager for a positive response.
It was Kaeya's turn to shake his head. "I'm afraid no. You're better off searching for them elsewhere." He waved them off dismissively, much to their disappointment. The captain waited for their footsteps to disappear from hearing range, before approaching the occupied bushes.
He took careful steps, not wanting to alert the person. "[Y/N], is it? You can come out now. Your fans aren't here to chase you down anymore." He spoke with gentleness, none of his usual smugness present. The bushes rustled for a bit before the person in hiding decided they could trust this man.
"Thank you...Cavalry Captain. How...can I ever repay you?" [Y/N] couldn't even look into his eyes, but still wanted to repay him. 'How adorable,' he chuckled to himself. A genuine smile bloomed on his lips; he had the perfect idea of how you could 'repay' him.
"Before we talk about that," he began, "let's drop the formal title and just call me Kaeya, eh?" Your eyes widened significantly. That was the somehow the least expected yet most expected answer from him all at once. You nodded slowly, as if hesitant. That was good enough for him.
"A date, at the Angel's Share perhaps? We don't need to drink alcohol if you don't want to. My treat. What do you say?" He held out his right hand to you, lips shut tight. If you had observed him a bit closer, you'd notice the slight tremble in his hands. He was nervous for a reply. Your reply.
To his surprise, you put your hand into his. His smile broke out into a full-on grin. "Oh, I'm the happiest man alive in Mondstadt! Would you like me to pick you up?" You shook your head at that.
"I-I'll meet you there...8 pm?" Kaeya had no objections. The way he nodded so quickly at every word you uttered was probably showcasing his small crush on you.
"I'm looking forward to tonight."
He waved goodbye before entering the Knights' Headquarters.
--
The hands on his watch showed him the time: 7.58 pm. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself. It was rare that a man so desirable and loved by many like him to turn up before the promised meet up time with anyone. Even Diluc was surprised to see him, if the way his eyes glared sideways at Kaeya was anything to talk about.
"What are you doing so early here? It's not the usual time to see your unsightly face here in my property."
"Ah, you're too cold-hearted, brother. Melt it down a little, and maybe you could score yourself a date...like me."
Kaeya's face was devoid of any obvious signs of emotion, yet Diluc swore he could hear the smirk in his words.
"Who?"
"Just the most talented person here...[Y/N]."
"Are you sure they will turn up? They're known to not show up on dates. Which, I don't blame them. I don't think they would like to spend alone time with a complete stranger that knows everything about me and keeps saying 'I'm your number one fan!'."
"Oh, I have the utmost belief that they will."
"Whatever you say."
Diluc huffed under his breath before turning back to clean the dishes behind the counter.
--
8 pm, 8.15 pm, 8.30 pm. Not even your shadow was spotted around the tavern. Seeds of doubt were starting to sprout in the captain's mind, but he ignored them nonetheless. It was a bit difficult to do so, especially with the burning stare of his brother shooting right into the back of his head.
With the intention to clear his mind, Kaeya stepped out of the tavern. Perhaps the cool breeze of the night could calm him down. He was sure. He was sure you would turn up. He was so sure...
But for what?
Now that he thought about it, why was he so sure? Technically, he was a stranger in your eyes. Maybe it was because he wasn't like your fans who knew every detail from the hairs on your head to the tips of your toes? Surely you would accept him; or maybe he was just overconfident in himself...
Huffing out a breath, his feet started to move and took him away from the tavern. His eyes were glued to the pavement, he didn't want anyone to see the sadness in them.
Out of nowhere, the sound of quick footsteps were heard. They seemed to come from in front of him, as if they were running. Before he could raise his head to see the commotion and possibly avoid it, he felt the impact of a body colliding with his.
"Ouch!"
The two yelped. As Kaeya had a pretty strong build, he wasn't taking the blow too hard. His eyes opened...only to see you. You looked stunning as you bathed in the moonlight.
He couldn't tear his eyes away, until you let out a small whine.
"Ha~ my outfit! I spent so long wanting to look perfect today, too..."
As you were complaining, you felt a pair of arms envelop you in a hug. Seeing the familiar dark blue hair was enough to tell you who it was.
"Cap-captain..! I mean, Kaeya..?"
"Oh, I was worried sick for nothing. I knew you'd come to me tonight." He spoke with so much emotion in his voice. You could definitely hear the dominant feeling of gratitude in his voice, mixed in with bits of relief and perhaps even...happiness? You felt your cheeks heat up, the heat eventually spreading to your whole face. Whatever he meant by that, it got your heart racing.
"Sorry I'm late. I was just..."
He kept his embrace on you. It wasn't tight, but wasn't loose either. If you had to describe it, it felt like a perfect hug. Almost.
"Kaeya, um...we're still sitting on the pavement here?"
"Oh, right. Silly me."
He snapped out of his trance, immediately letting go of you. He stood up before you could, holding out his hand to pull you up. You gladly took it. The both of you stared into each other's eyes. Perhaps, the love bug had bitten not one, but two today..?
A scoff. "What a great first date impression, brother."
"Oh, you absolutely didn't have to ruin it like that, Diluc!"
Thank you for reading!

"Be careful venturing too deep, darling, things aren't always what they seem in the dark..." I remember reading a note in one of the art books that the eels' body is luminescent since they live in the deep sea and I just...went a little out of control again and my victim is Jade.
This was so HARD, I don't draw underwater things, but I think this turned out really nice <3 I especially had fun adding the speckles to Jade's body.

Folks!
I've been writing last night and just, a lot of ideas (I mean a lot) popped up in my head and I'm thinking of making a series. It's gonna involve Alhaitham for sure, though.
The general plot is Alhaitham's grandma is teaching him the significance of arts long after her death, through making him search for a girl that she thinks Haitham has forgot about/thought of as insignificant (basically the unseen lovers part 1 but remaking it into a series altogether).
Which leads me to this: would you read this? I'm more so writing here as a means of enjoying myself, but I want to create something that people would enjoy simultaneously.
Leave a comment/reblog with your thoughts! Each and every feedback is appreciated!

the unseen lovers | alhaitham (part 1)
Alhaitham finds a secret his grandmother left for him in her favourite book.
A/N: I was supposed to make this short, but then so many ideas popped up and now I have to separate it into parts...maybe I could make a mini series out of this?
Divider by @/osqrie
Tumblr media
For as long as Alhaitham could remember, he had been raised by his loving grandmother. A brilliant mind accompanied by her nurturing nature made her some sort of a national treasure to Sumeru's people. Though, sometimes he couldn't help but wonder how none of her tender self had rubbed off on him.
"Smile more, my dear child," she would always tell him, a book in her lap while she rested her back onto the huge chair reserved for her in the living room. "Your smile is the loveliest our bloodline has ever seen." She would whisper into his hair as he nestled into her warm arms. Winter nights were the best when he could cuddle with his grandmother in the living room. He could remember it all like it happened yesterday. He still had short legs that time, that much he could remember. He could cuddle comfortably on the chair.
Alhaitham could remember the nights he cuddled his grandmother's blanket after her passing. Sometimes he swore he could feel his grandmother's tender hands stroke his hair while he dozed off on her favourite chair. His legs had gotten longer over the years, even more so after he reached puberty. That, paired with the fact that he took care of his physical health. The elongation of his limbs was expected, but he was never really bothered by it. Not until he would cuddle on the chair and felt slightly uncomfortable from the limited leg space he had. Of course, he wouldn't have had that complaint if he would just keep his feet on the floor and not on the armchair.
When he moved into his new house gifted by the Akademiya, he made sure to bring the chair with him. He let it settle in his personal library. Reading never brought more joy than when he would read on that specific chair. His grandmother left a parting note on the first page of his favourite book, its cover worn and its spine broken from the endless times he flipped it and left it wide open. Alhaitham would read it whenever he felt extremely sad, extremely happy, or extremely angry. Eventually, his feelings wouldn't control him as much as his rationality would. Though, he never lost the love he held for the book, as it held the last physical memory he had of his grandmother.
Though, he didn't expect his life to change so much when he opened his grandmother's favourite book.
--
The Grand Bazaar was as lively as usual, yet perhaps the noisiest ones were probably the staff of Zubayr Theatre. Costume designers ran to and fro with all kinds of textiles in their hands; from the smoothest silks to the back-to-basics cottons, the media team deciding which Kamera would capture the performers' best angles and lightings from which directions, and directors and artistic advisors constantly pinching their heads as if to calm down an incoming migraine while still keeping their eyes wide open to observe each member's actions.
One thing was clear: the theatre was eager to celebrate the Sabzeruz Festival for Lesser Lord Kusanali's upcoming birthday, and they were determined than ever to spread the joyful spirit through their main dancer, Nilou's special performance; the Dance of Sabzeruz.
[Y/N], a director known for being the most patient and soft spoken out of everyone in the team, was observing the first round of rehearsals. Her tender nature was something a lot of people tried to take advantage of, especially during work hours. However, almost everyone learnt it the hard way; never underestimate the deep passion she had for the performing arts.
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as her eyes were glued onto the stage. Her hands were quick to jot down whatever she found noteworthy; perhaps the lighting was unsatisfactory, or perhaps a prop or two looked out of place. Whatever it was, she would certainly voice out her honest opinions and thoughts after rehearsal ended.
Her unwavering focus on the stage was perfect, for she didn't notice a certain man seeming starstruck by the mere sight of her, stood merely a couple meters behind her.
--
'Go out and find the girl who pours her heart out even when no one's looking. Keep your eyes open for the beautiful things our people call useless, and keep them wide open. Be careful to not miss out on what looks mediocre behind the beauty of it all.'
Those were the first words Alhaitham read when he flipped his grandmother's favourite book open. It wasn't a particularly unique read to him. If anything, his eyebrows were raised when he knew his grandmother deemed a romance story worthy of her fondness. Yet, as a fellow genius, he supposed that it wasn't too out of character for her. Geniuses were hardly ever predictable. History has proven that exact statement time and time again.
He closed the thick hardcover as he let out a quiet huff. The title, 'The Unseen Lovers' wasn't one that stood out to him so much. In fact, he could even say that a sloppily written research paper by Kaveh would be more interesting than whatever he was holding (even though he would never admit that to the architect, mind you) in his arms right now.
Alhaitham closed his eyes and leaned back onto the chair in his library. He supposed he could give the book a chance, given that his grandmother seemed to hold so much love for it. That was the least he could do to honour her memory, right? Not to mention, the somewhat riddle-like note she had left for him on the front page of the book was nagging at the back of his mind more than he would've liked it.
Tune in for more, thank you for reading!

In which the traveler and Paimon catches Alhaitham indulging in something unexpected.
A/N: I might as well make this whole blog dedicated to Alhaitham because man's got my heart in a chokehold :(

The House of Daena was filled with the sounds of pages turned over and the quick footsteps of the students flitting from one bookcase to another. Furrowed eyebrows and downturned lips decorated each of their faces. The librarian seemed stressed out to navigate the flurry of students and assist them in finding books. Even a stranger could tell the obvious; examination season was right around the corner.
Alhaitham, the ex-Acting Grand Sage and current Scribe of the Akademiya, had his eyes glued onto his surroundings. Though his expression remained neutral, he couldn't deny the feeling of annoyance building up inside him. The library was way too noisy to be called one. It was a good thing that he was enjoying his read so far. Though, the choice of reading fiction was something that not a lot of people would expect from him.
Yes, he had a book titled "The Genius Falls in Love!" nestled in his hands.
He didn't really catch the eye of anyone. After all, it wasn't weird that the Scribe would spend his day in the library instead of his office. His work hours were long but he never really complied to them. That was something that the students were mighty jealous of. What they didn't know, however, was that his work was always submitted on time with the highest quality. A trait that most of them could only hope to achieve.
Alhaitham put on his noise-cancelling earphones. His eyes relaxed slightly as he could focus better on the book in his hand. He was already on chapter 22. An impressive amount of reading, given that he only received the book that morning.
His body rested fully onto the chair he sat on. He closed his eyes, remembering the sweet smile his wife gave him as she handed him the book.
'Here, honey!' she exclaimed, shoving a book into his hands. 'If you miss me at work, read this book I wrote! And tell me how it went, yeah?'
From the moment he stepped out of their shared house, he flipped the book open. 'Ridiculous,' he thought to himself. 'I always miss you when you're not by my side.'
And so off he went. He finished all the work he deemed urgent enough on that day, before immediately going back to reading. It was quite the comical sight, really. The stoic genius reading a fictional book? A romance, at that? Impossible. Utterly ridiculous.
And yet, here he was.
The work day passed by so quickly when he spent it reading. Before he knew it, the librarian came over to his spot and told him that the library was closing. Alhaitham immediately got up and left to go home.
--
The walk back was quiet and peaceful enough. The mere sight of his wife's face as she greeted him at the door was enough to make a smile appear on his face, no matter how slight.
"Honey! How was work today? What did you eat during lunch? Did you have time to read my book?" It was expected that his wife would bombard him with questions the moment he came home. However, she was special in every way. For instance, he would always answer each question she had calmly, no matter how frequent or stupid they may be.
"I'm back. Work was completed like usual today. I ate the lunch you prepared for me, and I'm halfway through your book, my dear."
His wife giggled at the thought of her husband taking some time out of his busy day to read her work. What she didn't know was that his day was scheduled around her, and never around anything else.
Until the traveler and Paimon had some interesting news to bring to her.
--
"Traveler, look! Is Alhaitham reading...a romance?"
Paimon's voice bounced off the walls of the House of Daena. She had successfully captured the eyes of many students, causing the traveler to put their hand over their head. Perhaps to block a headache induced by her lack of realisation that they were in the library.
Paimon's hands flew over her mouth right after the words were uttered. Her eyes seemed apologetic enough, darting over to the traveler as a silent apology. The traveler merely shot her an awkward smile.
It was a good thing that Alhaitham himself did not pay them any mind. The way his ears perked up slightly showed that he indeed heard Paimon, but perhaps chose to ignore them. However, the eyes glued to his person was quite bothersome, even for someone as stoic as him.
He shut the book in his hands quite loudly, hinting his irritation at Paimon. She only gulped and shot a panicked expression at the traveler, who deadpanned at her. The both of them stood still as they heard Alhaitham's footsteps approach them. He was getting closer and closer with each thud of his footsteps.
"I would appreciate if you did not point out whatever business unrelated to you." His voice was calm, just like his expression. His eyes told a different story all together. The traveler's flying companion could only apologise repeatedly, while the traveler shot him an apologetic smile.
After a few seconds of awkward silence between the trio, the Scribe walked away from the both of them. His right hand carried the romance book he was reading quite delicately, as if it was his most precious treasure. And it truly was.
Anything related to his wife was a treasure to him, and he would never forgive himself if he failed to appreciate even the simplest things about her.
--
"...and that was it! He seemed really annoyed that the Akademiya students were looking at him curiously." Paimon ended her story to Alhaitham's wife. She merely chuckled at the tale.
"Of course he was. He dislikes people getting into his business after all."
"Are you sure he isn't acting like that because he's embarrassed about getting caught reading something so...unexpected, of him?" The traveler furrowed their eyebrows as their companion asked such question with no hesitation. She really needed to learn to read the room sometimes.
Before she could answer, Alhaitham embraced his wife from behind. His eyes were calm, as if having his wife in his arms was all it took to make him feel tranquil.
"Do you really think I'd be reading such book in public if I were to be 'embarrassed' about it? Moreover, how could my lovely wife ever make me feel embarrassed?"
That was more than enough of an answer for the traveler and Paimon. They smiled sweetly at the response. The smiles were short lived, however, as Alhaitham sent them both out of his house, wanting to be alone with his wife.
Ah, well. There's no stopping a man in love, is there?
Thank you for reading! <3

a topic worth discussing | alhaitham
Alhaitham comes home to you (and Kaveh, much to his dismay) with a traveler and their flying companion in tow.

My original work from my main blog, revised and reposted here.
Tumblr media
As the front door of the quaint house opened, the traveler expected everything else other than a person -who is not Kaveh- greeting Alhaitham with a huge smile on their face.
"Sweetheart, you're home!" said person exclaimed, putting their arms around the man. The person captured Alhaitham in a sweet embrace. What was more surprising to the two observers was definitely the fact that Alhaitham made no effort to push them away with disdain; he reciprocated the hug quite happily.
"I'm home, indeed," he whispered into your ear, the sheer love he had for you evident in his voice. The hug was cut short and interrupted quite rudely by a certain flying emergency food's question. "Uh, so...who is this, Alhaitham?"
"Oh, you brought guests home! Welcome, welcome. I apologise for not noticing you sooner," you exclaimed, pulling yourself away from your beloved. "I am [Y/N], Alhaitham's spouse! My dearest here rarely brings any guests home, so please make yourself comfortable here." I smiled at the two guests behind him before disappearing into the kitchen.
The golden-haired traveler and their companion's eyes looked as if they were about to blow out from their eye sockets. The Acting Grand Sage of the Sumeru Akademiya never seemed to be lacking of surprises; rather, he was full of them. This action of theirs, no matter how much they tried to hide it, had not gone unnoticed by the subject of their interest.
"You can stop being surprised, you know," said Alhaitham with a small chuckle that could only be heard if one was close enough to him. "Though, I can't blame you for your shock; surely you didn't expect me, out of all people, to be married, hm?" His question was only responded to with awkward chuckles and eyes averted to the floor.
"Hey Alhaitham, help me with this painting I'm trying to- oh hey, traveler, Paimon!" A voice barged into the awkward conversation that took place in the living room. Kaveh's sudden interruption had no doubt brought some sort of shame to Alhaitham. An embarrassed sight left his lips before replying, "Now, you can either have a seat and behave; or you can leave this room without a word."
Before the architect could retaliate and respond with a snarky reply, a sweet voice cut him to it. "Oh dear, don't be so harsh on Kaveh, will you? Here, have some of these, it will re-energise you just right, after such a long day," you interrupted, setting down a tray filled with a teapot and a few teacups onto the table, enough for the guests, your husband and Kaveh. As you poured some tea into each cup, a fragrant and relaxing aroma filled the cozy living space. It was as if it had the power to calm all the inhabitants of the room.
No words were exchanged whilst everyone except you enjoyed the tea you had brewed, a look of bliss present on each of their faces. Truly, your amazing skills at brewing tea was one of the things Alhaitham loved about you, though it was not the only reason he fell in love with you. If he were to list down what made him fall for you so hard, he'd have filled the House of Daena with books that contained each and every reason, all explained with elaborate details.
The moment of silence was soon broken by none other than Kaveh. "Thank you for this, [Y/N]. Your tea never fail to calm me down after a long and stressful day." You shot your usual sweet smile at him. "Of course! Nothing makes me happier than helping people relax."
You didn't know if it was your imagination or not, but you could've sworn Kaveh shot a smirk at your husband, who sent him the slightest glare. Oh, these two's antics will never find an end, will they?
Deciding to ignore the two men, you turned to your two respectable guests. "So, you are the renowned traveler who is traversing across the seven nations, and you are their honourable companion, Paimon. Correct?" You inquired to your guests in an attempt to start a small conversation, as to not let them feel awkward.
The traveler merely nodded while Paimon replied to you for the both of them, "Yep, yep, you're absolutely right! But don't worry about us, let's talk about you! You are Alhaitham's spouse? That's super cool! When did you two get married?" You were slightly caught off guard, since you didn't expect such question to come from her.
"Ah, curiouser than a cat, are you?" Paimon merely let out a giggle at that. "Well, we actually got married last year after dating for a few years, when we were still in the Akademiya as students," you responded with a smile. The shiny glint in the traveler and Paimon's eyes told you that their interest was very much piqued. "Wow, that's really unexpected!"
"I think it's rather rude of you to say that I, of all people, would be quite the shocker to the whole of Teyvat if I were to get married," your husband interrupted, tone as sharp as ever. Before you could gently chide him, Kaveh spoke his mind first, "Well, I don't think it's unreasonable for others to think like that, no? What with your aloof and 'I don't care what others think of me' personality going on."
Alhaitham merely glanced at Kaveh before he decided to roast his roommate. "Well, despite not having the best personality others would expect from me, at least I have the financial freedom to have a nice house that was originally meant for my spouse and I only." You knew an agitated Kaveh would start a fight, and so you decided to shoo them away to another room. "An argument is coming up and we all know it; so please, kindly leave the living room." No disagreement was expressed towards your statement, and both men stood up to continue where they left off in the library instead.
A sigh left your lips. "I'm utterly sorry you had to see such an unsightly display like that. Please, continue asking me more questions if you still have them?" The traveler and Paimon assured you that they had already withessed one of their arguments back in the House of Daena at the Akademiya, and were more amused than annoyed by it. You could only chuckle at that.
"Anyway," Paimon started, her -and to a certain extent, the traveler's- want to satiate their curiosity regarding you and Alhaitham's marriage was quite strong. "How'd you manage to get him to fall in love? As far as Paimon can see, he doesn't seem like he has the abilities to feel any empathy, let alone love." You let out a hearty laugh at her words, even though it was not the first time you heard such things from other people regarding your husband.
"Well, Paimon, you should know that love is one of the most mysterious emotions for humankind. It can appear in anyone at anytime and anywhere, even to the most stoic and rational people. Pure love cannot be suppressed easily, and it is necessary for one to act according to the love they feel, lest they hurt emotionally or in the worst cases, die."
Paimon shor a confused glance at the traveler who nodded with understanding at your words. "Uh, well, Paimon was not expecting such a logical answer...are all people from the Akademiya like this? All of you talk like you're writing an academic paper or something!" You grinned at the little flying companion. Truly, she never failed to amuse anyone with her blunt words and thoughts.
"Well, if it can satisfy you much better than my previous answer, I can tell you how we started having a crush on each other, all those years ago," you said, the grin still stuck on your lips. "Ooh! Please do, Paimon and the traveler would love to hear it!" The small glint in their eyes had been replaced with stars that shone quite brightly. Quite a comical sight.
Before you could open your mouth to begin your story, a familiar pair of arms enveloped you into a back hug, well, they enveloped your shoulders it seemed, as you were sitting. Ah, it seemed that the two arguing men had finally became tired of arguing. "Must you barge into other people's love lives? Is that really all that you can entertain yourselves with these days?" Alhaitham questioned, annoyed that others kept trying to know his very much private love life.
Paimon pouted, bringing out the childlike attitude she sometimes had. "Hey, [Y/N] wasn't forced to tell us, so why are you saying that as if we coerced them into this?!" "Come now, the stoic and rational Akademiya's Acting Grand Sage's love life is definitely a topic worth discussing and you know it," Kaveh chimed in, indirectly supporting Paimon.
"Come honey, we should take a stroll around Razan Garden tonight. I'm sure the darkness of the night will only ensure that the plants glow even more magnificently than ever," Alhaitham interlaced his fingers with yours, pulling you up from your seat and ultimately ignoring Kaveh and his guests.
"Come back, you two!" Annoyed voices called out to the two of you. You looked back but your husband's hand on your waist was proof that he had no desire to entertain them any longer. You could merely shoot a small, apologetic smile as Alhaitham opened the door of the house.
"See ya."
Thank you for reading! <3
