Hello, my friends its Dani Spee, and today I wanted to share six weight loss tips that helped me lose weight in a healthy, sustainable way. Now these are more natural holistic tips. These are not your everyday dietary weight loss tips because I think we hear so many of those already and I wanted to dig a little deeper to some of the practices that I feel like really made a huge difference for me when I finally lost weight because Remember for many years I was a yo-yo dieter and I did all the things, but I still couldn’t quite figure out what was blocked me from making that change, and so here are some of the tips that I feel like made a huge difference for me and So many of them were mental, so the first tip is to recognize that weight loss can only do one thing and that is to have you lose weight right. Weight loss has one job that is to make you way less weight. Loss cannot make you happier more whole, more valuable, more worthy, and, I think a lot of times, especially because of the society we live in and all of the pressure that is put on us around our bodies. We think that we cannot be happy whole, valuable and worthy in a body that we don’t prefer or in a body that we feel is overweight right. But when you’re coming from a place of, I am broken, and I need to fix this. You are constantly working against yourself and even if you do lose the weight from that premise, you will never feel successful, because losing weight cannot in and of itself make you any happier or more fulfilled as a person right. That is emotional work. That needs to be done outside of weight loss and often times weight loss can be a byproduct of doing that emotional work.
First, we have to remember that the journey informs the destination, so we need to come from a place of love, unconditional love and showing up for ourselves in a really kind, loving way exactly where we are, even when we’re not where we want to be tip number. Two is to remember that there is no wagon anybody who is a dieter or has tried many diets past. We know that mentality where we’re on the wagon we’re off the wagon we’re on the wagon we’re off the wagon right, where we try to make the changes and in the minute we go off the plan or off what we had intended for ourselves. Then we tell ourselves were off the wagon, but the problem with this thought process as one it’s rooted in perfection and it’s very unrealistic because, no matter what, if you are going to lose weight over a period of time, it is not a perfect linear path and What happens is when you tell yourself that the minute you eat the ice cream or the doughnut or the thing that was not on the plan that you now off the wagon. It then encourages more bad behavior and I lose. I use that term loosely. But it’s this idea that I’ve ruined it it’s off the wagon and so what’s the point and that can send us into a day two days a week, a month right of spiraling in a direction of continuing to eat poorly and not focusing on the goals that we’ve set for ourselves because we feel like it’s not working anyway right, so instead of thinking of a wagon, you just want to think this is a continuum and if I slip up or when I make a decision, that’s not aligned with my plan, I’m gonna Look at it and I’m gonna learn from it, and I’m gonna use this as a part of my journey forward. I’m not gonna use it as a reason to stop, and I’m not gonna use it as a reason to quit. This is a part of the journey. Nothing has gone wrong, tip number three and I will say this was one of the biggest mental shifts for me. I know I’ve shared it before, but what I started to do was instead of focusing on all of the foods that I believed I needed to restrict and deprive myself of all the things I needed to take away from my diet, which feels like a constant state Of like scarcity, I began to focus on all of the foods I got to include right and that made it fun. It made it more like a game, I started thinking. What can I try what’s in season? What did I see in that magazine or on that? Healthy blog right and then it became like this playful experiment, and it didn’t feel like a like punishment. It actually was enjoyable and something that I looked forward to so focusing on all of the foods that you get to include in maybe experimenting with a couple new things. Every making that commitment to yourself can really create a mental shift around weight loss and make it a lot more enjoyable and a lot more sustainable tip. Number four, which piggy backs off of tip number three: is the crowd out technique again when we are making changes? A lot of times we are thinking that we have to do this huge overhaul and we want to change everything overnight. But the truth is creating new habits takes time and it takes practice. So a really great way to do that is to use the crowd up technique again, instead of saying I’m not gon na eat this or I’m not gonna eat that make a small commitment like I am going to include two vegetables on my lunch plate. Every single day – and you practice that for one week two weeks, three weeks until it becomes so natural and so habitual to you, that it doesn’t feel like trying anymore it’s just something that you do and then once that happens, you pick something else to invite onto Your plate, or into your kitchen or into your day-to-day habits right. So maybe it’s drinking more water or working in a certain amount of movement every day, and you just focus on that one thing and as you focus on that one thing, other things start to fall away. So again, it’s a mental shift because, instead of focusing on things that we think we can’t do or we shouldn’t do we’re bringing in habits that we want to do and then just letting the other ones be slightly crowded out a bit. It’s a much more gentle approach and again it is a much more enjoyable approach. Number five focus on your commitments. Instead of your results right so many people when it comes to weight loss, we think that the number on the scale dictates whether or not we have had any success or if we’re moving in the right direction. But as we know, bodies are fluid and ever moving and scales are, you know not linear, they move up and down on a weight-loss journey, and so it can become very discouraging when you’re, using only the scale to decide whether or not you have moved towards your Goal when you make the shift to focusing on your commitments to yourself that gives you a lot more control over the day-to-day right. So if your commitment is hey, I’m gonna drink four glasses of water today or hey I’m gonna move my body for 30 minutes today or I’m gonna put two servings of vegetables on my lunch plate every day. Right, you have something very clear, very specific, to focus on, and then you know whether or not you have been successful that day by your ability to honor the commitment that you made to yourself. So it becomes a much more tangible way to see if you’re making success, because at the end of the day, weight loss over the long haul comes down to those day-to-day practices, those day-to-day habits. And so when you are making a habit for that day and paying attention to that day, those are the small wins that add up over time, and might I also add that is how motivation is fed right often people say well.
How can I get more motivated?
How do you motivate yourself – and I personally have found that motivation is often a byproduct of results? We don’t usually start out motivated, or maybe we do for the first few days, but what tends to get us motivated is when we are having results. So if you have the results of honoring your commitment 710 days, how good that starts to feel you start to feel motivated, you start to build momentum and that again makes everything more enjoyable, more pleasurable and therefore more sustainable and the final tip I want to share With you today, the sixth tip is to be reflective and not rejected right. So when you are not able to stick to your intentions when you you find that you were not able to commit to the things you set out for yourself, instead of using that as a reason to reject yourself and turn your back on yourself and tell yourself You’re not capable or that you’re a failure – or this is just something your honor able to do – use it as an invitation to stay soft and compassionate and curious. Imagine every single time you made a turn that was off the path you wanted to learn from it right that you wanted to understand it more instead of just labeling it as a problem and rejecting the whole thing you would, in the long run, make so much More further forward progress right weight loss is not only about the the weight falling off your body or the number of the scale going down. It’s about the relationship that we get to foster with ourselves and when you bring that to the forefront – and you remember that again, it’s a huge shift in the weight loss journey. So much of what I wanted to share here today, as you can see, it’s really reflective of the mental aspects of weight loss. Yes, there are definitely action steps we can take on our plates and with our food and it that’s different for everybody. But if you can’t get the mental game straight right, if you can’t be on your own side and be in this for the long run, I don’t care what you put on your plate. You’re always gonna have to come back to the drawing board to deal with you. I would actually go so far to say that I think for many people, the weight loss journey is only about learning how to foster a kinder, more loving relationship with themselves in their bodies. But again that’s just a little food for thought. ” So I said, “Sweetheart, the result of your diagnosis is that you are abusing your marriage.” You hate your job, you feel creatively frustrated You are mentally frustrated You didn’t let go of your resentment towards your father The one who harassed you when you were a kid Until you cure these, your body will never recover.
” So if taking good care of your body is not the most important part of health, what is the most important thing?

We can give you medicine We can operate on you and sometimes you need it This is the first part of self-healing But only by curing the most fundamental problem will you not have more new diseases So you no longer need other operations, you need to prescribe a prescription for yourself So I ask you: “What is what you need, and what can make you healthy? What do you need to change. The Nutrition Facts label is pretty confusing for most people.  Today I want to focus on the real top section of the meat label and sacrifice certain basic gratuities on how you can get started reading food label.  One of the most important things to look at is the performing immensity.  Most labels are going to have them in standard meters, so it’s pretty easy to read and it’s very comparable from one similar product to the next.  Its delightful when you’re looking at different descriptions from various concoctions.

Look at the serving size then look at the functions per container right below, that which says how many are actually in that entire package.  Then think about what you actually consume.  In this package it’s 28 crackers and everything else scheduled is pretty analogous, but if I had more than that or less than that I need to adjust the calories and all the other nutrients based on how much I actually consumed from this particular package  The other important thing to look at is calories, and calories from fat.  When we look at the calories in this product 130 and the serving size is 28 so if I had 28 crackers I know it’s 130 calories but if I had doubled that I need to double it so I can also look at my calories from fat and influence what percentage of my calories are coming from fat.  Standard recommendation is to consume little than 30% of our calories and from fat in an ordinary day.  So I take the 30 calories from fat here divided by the 134 this concoction is 23% of the calories come fat so it may fit into a healthy diet for me but again you need to compare this to what you’re actually ingesting in a typical day.
How to understand food labels
Food labels can be very confusing and tricky to understand. Often we don’t have the time to spend trying to work out what they mean and how to use them.  The Nutrition Information Panel on a food label offers the simplest and easiest way to choose foods with less saturated fat, salt (sodium), added sugars and kilojoules, and more fiber. It can also be used to decide how large one serve of a food group choice or discretionary food would be and whether it’s worth the kilojoules. This is particularly important if you are trying to lose weight.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
The FDA has provided standards for nutrition labels using the following headings:

Nutrients
The Percent Daily Value (%DV)
Things to look out for on food labels: energy, fat, sugar and salt
Energy is often listed on the panel as kilojoules (kJ).  People will often think of calories (Kcal) as energy, but not all calories are the same.  Fats, protein and carbohydrates are all sources of energy, but the body uses them in different ways.  Manufacturers can list fat, sugar or salt content under different names depending on the ingredient used in the product. This means that these food components might seem ‘hidden’ on the ingredient list. These components might go by different names – but whatever they’re called, high fat, sugar and salt content generally means the food is less healthy.  A new category of “added sugars” aims to clarify the difference between the sugar that naturally occurs in a food and the kind that’s been added during processing. This information could offer helpful insights for people with health conditions like diabetes, or those who simply want to know more about their food.  You can use the ‘quantity per serve’ information to keep track of what you’re eating, but it’s only useful if you consume the amount the manufacturer has designated as a serving.
It isn’t surprising, since research shows that consumers find food labels confusing, misleading, or difficult to interpret.

– Hey, Killer Bs, it’s Pahla B from www.pahlabfitness.com and on tap today, I’ve got day one of the Weight Loss for Women Over 50 serials. You guys, today we are going for a great walk and that means that there is no jumping , no changes to the ground, no equipment needed of course. But I am gonna tell you all about how to use this 31 -day challenge and how to lose weight successfully.  You dont need weight loss pills, or specific fat loss diet plans for women.  You guys, when you’re ready for this one, I’m totally ready. So let’s go! All claim, you guys, let’s get movin’ and groovin’ and that means that we are getting started with some arm roundabouts and high knees.
I gotta be honest, we are technically speaking only walking, but that does not mean that it is any less of a workout than any of the other workouts that we do. So I do wanna make suret hat we are warmed up, that you’re getting your heart rate up, that you’re getting even your upper form warmed up for what is essentially simply a lower organization workout. But I tell you oh my gosh, my counterbalance is fantastic today. I tell you, no matter what kind of a workout we do, having a nice thorough warmup is always the way to get started because no matter what part of your organization you’re working, all of you is always working. Let’s go ahead and do some weapon crossers with booty kickers. I’m really having to think about this today. Can I tell you one thing? I’m a little nervous about today’s workout. I have a lot of information for you today about weight loss and specifically weight loss for women over 50. And that really is the point of today’s workout to make sure that I can give you the information that you need so that you can be super successful with this challenge.
Now, the thing is I’m calling it a challenge because I like that text because it is really very like okay, here we go. We’re gonna really get into this habit. We’re gonna examine what we’re gonna do. I’m gonna give you the information so that you could be successful. But the fact is the most challenging part you’ve already done. You already sounded play on this video. You’ve already get started and that can be the most challenging thing of all. Let’s go ahead and do some welcome to my homes. The thing is, my friends, was started on losing value, you are familiar with, especially at the beginning of the year, it’s a new year, it’s a new decade, new you, new all of that stuff. No concern how you slice it, spawning changes in your life can feel scary. And that’s why I wanted to put together this challenge for us and specifically this walk-thru video where we’re not trying to think too hard about the rehearsal so that you can think about how we can be successful, to get this new you. Let’s go ahead and start walking. Now, this is all I am doing.  You are welcome to take today at whatever speed feels best for you and at whatever vogue feels best for you. For some people, strolling in place doesn’t feel immense. If you would like to mix it up with other moves, some area moves, or some hand gestures, things like that, satisfy feel free. You’re also welcome to do this workout jumping on your mini trampoline. I hear that all the time from lots of my different videos that you take it to the trampoline and that is perfectly lovely. However you get movin’ and groovin’ today, candidly, is totally fine with me. What I wanna tell you is all about weight loss.
Let’s talk about it, friends. You know, weight loss is always a moving target.  But I’m often trying to do something else. And I wanted to give you a delightful, brief, hopefully concise, we’ll see how that starts, account of exactly how to lose weight at this age. Because the fact is it is different over 50. And lots of people wanna tell you it’s harder to lose weight when we’re in and around menopause senility. The fact is it doesn’t have to be harder or more difficult. What it is, is different. So let’s start off really quickly with biology because, your best friend, it always comes back to biology. Here’s how your torso works. Here’s how your person carries weight, uses what you have and loses weight. There are three steps to the process and I’m gonna make this sound super simple even though there’s a lot to it. You take energy in. That mean you ingest. The meat that you dine contains calories as you well know. But calories is actually just another utterance for exertion. When you devour, you are giving your body energy. Now, your figure needs todo something with that. Your body is like a giant battery. And I affection this about your beautiful, marching, talking, marvelous, always works for you body. Your body knows that it cannot just applied that force right back away, because if it did, you would need to be eating 24 hours a day. Your beautiful figure has all these systems in place to store that exertion for last-minute. Now, the one home we don’t like it to collect power for last-minute is in fat. But it is, in fact, one of the ways that your torso saves vigor for later. Now, we was agreement that when we take too much energy in, that we get too much vitality storage. And that’s part of the equation but not all of it. We’re gonna get to that in a little bit. The interesting thing that your torso can do is it can store energy in a couple of different places. It collects it as fatty, it stores it in your muscles, it accumulates it as carbohydrate likewise. So your person then, after it stores the force that it has taken in, makes intensity out. Now, it is a well-known fact that we always think of energy out, precisely like this, when we’re doing something that feels very active. But the facts of the case is, your body is putting vitality out every single minute of every single day from the moment you are conceived until the moment you are disappear.
Weight loss and women
Everything you do necessitates force. Blinking, talking, ingesting, digesting, breathing, sleeping, everything involves vigor. And what that wants is that your figure has like a base rank power requirement simply to keep you alive. And you may or may not be ingesting about that number of calories. But, my friends, we don’t button that one of the purposes of the vigor method. So what I’m gonna tell you to do is to eat the right amount of energy.
It’s a little bit nicer when we talk about it as vigor instead of calories, right? You can be utilized either message. I do tend to actually say calories, but here’s the thing. You can think about it in whatever room feels more successful and doable for you. Now, here’s the thing that we listen all the time is that in order to lose weight we have to eat less and move more. But, my friends, I will tell you that working with dozens of weight loss patrons over the years, it’s not necessarily that you are eating too much. Weight gain comes from so many different concludes and sources. Sometimes we gain weight because we’re super stressed out either mentally or physically. Your body will respond to stress with fatty storage. Sometimes we gain weight because we’re eating really inconsistently, that sometimes we’re overeating enormously but other times we’re under-eating enormously. Healthy eating is super important to body fat and mental health.  That is actually again, very stressful to your body. Your body actually only recognizes -A okay or stress. And, of course, there are degrees along the way, but when your person perceives stress, it starts to give stress signals to the hormones and to other things that respond to arrangements. And any type of stress that lasts for any length of duration, will automatically trigger solid storage for your body. Here’s why this can be specially tough for us. In today’s world, stress is everywhere. Stress is mental. Stress comes from eating inconsistently. Stress comes from exercising at a position that your mas doesn’t like. And the thing about being this age is that we be applicable to, when we were younger, have better organizations in place for secreting stress. But now, at 50 -ish or beyond, sometime around menopause, the hormone that actually helped us release stress, which by the way was estrogen. Health fitness and food plans are science backed and necessary for sustained weight managment. Hormones are a big help for liberating stress and so our body responds by storing fat. I know, that’s super crazy, right? We don’t always gain weight because we’re eating too much and we do not definitely need to eat less in order to lose weight. And we almost definitely don’t need to move more. My friends, that moving more thing might even be the problem depending on your personal fitness autobiography. If you are brand new to employ, have lived a absolutely sedentary life or are just currently sedentary and have been for a while, then, yes, my suggestion to you is to move more than you are currently.

I sometimes predict things, I entail I literally do this for a living, but sometimes I’ll speak things and I’ll be like, is this true? How do I feel about this but also how can I back this up? Where’s the authenticity? Exactly because this person is putting it forward as a information, doesn’t automatically mean that it’s gonna work for me or, in your client, for you. The other case of this perplex, I make there’s math, there’s science, there’s doing the labor, but there’s also the mindset part. And, your best friend, I don’t want you to discount that. If you are kinda sorta maybe-ish thinking about losing weight, it’s gonna be tough. If you are focused and committed to doing the right thing and figuring out what the right thing is and following through with the right thing, you are able to perfectly have more success. Side of the free e-book does talk about setting yourself a goal and following through with the mental thinking work that’s gonna help you to get to that goal. One of the things that’s truly going to help you is believing that you’re doing the right thing. And I is a well-known fact that that sounds either thoroughly crazy or kind of too easy in some ways. But the fact is, your form will go where your mind travels first. When you provide a destination and believe in your ability to achieve that goal, it will assist you do all the right tasks to get to your goal. And believing that you can do it participates such an immense duty. It is the starting, the cornerstone of what will help you be successful.
For me, I find that a lot of what I guess comes from details, math, and health science. And that’s why I have this program given forward for you in a really, as much as possible, concrete and clear way. I love to know how things work and why things run because that helps me follow through on the steps. If that sounds like your way of thinking, that you like that logical, I know why I’m doing this and that’s why I’m gonna follow through on it, I think this program will work fantastically for you. If you tend to be a person who, if you tend to be a person who likes very clear, I suspect bounds or, boundaries isn’t maybe quite the word I’m trying to come up with, but if you are looking for, for example, a dinner propose, I is not have snack plans. I’m not going to tell you what to eat. I will tell you how to find out for yourself what to eat, but I cannot, because I’m actually not a dietician or a nutritionist, I cannot tell you what to eat. My friends, there are any number of ways to lose weight. The one that’s gonna work for you is the one that works for you. The thing is I believes in you. You can believe in yourself. We are going on this journey this month where we’re going to explore what it’s like to practice reasonably. We’re going to explore what it’s like to follow through on setting a goal for yourself. We’re going explore what it’s like to set limits for our self in areas of our calories in, and then to follow through on that. There’s a lot to losing value, but there’s also just a little to it. And I’m really excited to be on this tour with you together. You guys, this produced menace and sweat today and this felt nice and moderate for me. I’m gonna talk to you about this super duper quick and then we’re gonna cool down. I know that for lots of you, you might be thinking that this wasn’t enough, that this was just a march. And for some of you it might feel like oh my goodness, that was the longest walk I’ve been on in a long time. No matter which space you go, let me tell you this, you can lose weight without exercising at all. That really is why I told you that whole biology lesson that we started with. Your weight loss is driven by eating the privilege number of calories systematically. I know, I’m a fitness trainer and you wanted me to say that it was exercise-driven and that everything we do is exactly right. But the facts of the case is, you don’t even have to do any of it to be successful. So what we are gonna do is find a moderate something that we can do every single day that doesn’t stress us out too much but also doesn’t stress us out too little because I know that if you’re not feeling like it’s enough, that that’s gonna add to your mental stress. I require you to find your glad counterbalance so that we can be successful this month. Let’s go ahead and make this down. And we’re gonna do a little bit of cool down stretching. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness with those arm cliques and I’m just gonna do some some side tappers. Ah! I love, love, adore both the warmup and the cool down.
Tips for Losing Weight
You know I love the exercise responsibility, too, but frankly, for me, probably the most delightful parts of many, many of the workouts isn’t just the fun that we have and the sweat that we have, but the warming up and the cooling down. For me, it is absolutely the mental part of the exercising that helps me get in the privilege state of mind, to get a good sweat, and then promotions me go far the title frame of mind to be done and feel like I had a great workout today because, your best friend, we had a great workout today. Let’s go ahead and do some limb crossers. Still doing some tappers now, we’re gonna open up wide, really stretch out your dresser. Oh my gosh. And then close it up. Oh, give yourself a big hug. You did such a superb job today. This is my, well, it’s my favorite kind of workout regardless. I love to walk, I love to run and eat food. I find them very simple and very easy to do. They don’t require any coordination at all( laughable ). So yes, this was my favorite kind of workout today. But this is also my favorite kind of workout where you get the information that you need to be completely successful with your weight loss journey. hey y’all welcome to real world with megan where we shine a light on mental health and the challenges we face in the real world.  i’m megan and i’m so glad you’re here.  when i was diagnosed with depression and anxiety i was really upset because i went in thinking yeah i probably have mild maybe mild to moderate depression and i was pretty sure i had anxiety but i did not think i had severe depression and chronic anxiety.

i felt like okay now that i have these diagnoses my boss isn’t going to take me seriously anymore, my co-workers are going to start to treat me with kid gloves, no one’s going to think that i’m a competent capable human being they’re just going to see a diagnosis and a mental illness.  so because of that fear and the shame that came along with that diagnosis i shoved everything down i tried to keep it in the dark.  i didn’t want anyone to know about it.  once i was open and honest it helped me to realize one of the biggest lies that my depression and anxiety tell me is that i am the only one who’s dealing with this.  Even if i’m not the only person with a diagnosed mental illness i’m not handling it as well as other people who have these same illnesses and that is a lie.

When i started to shine a light on my condition that’s when i was able to see the truth.  i think that the biggest weapon we have against shame and that feeling of despair is the truth.   when we’re able to check those lies against what is accurate.  i also believe the most dangerous part of mental illness isn’t the illness itself but it’s how we treat it.  it’s the stigma that goes with it our fear and shame causes us to shove down our struggles into the dark where the lies have space to grow undisturbed.  they’re just able to fester and expand into this all-consuming thing.

so how do you fight the darkness you fight it with the light by shining a light on mental health.   we can see the dark and the twisty thoughts for what they are they are, lies.  there are lies our brain is telling us when we see these lies in the light of day it’s much easier to check them against the truth according to the national alliance on mental health about one in five adults in the u.s or 46.6 million people experiences mental illness in a given year.  if you don’t personally experience depression or anxiety there’s a good chance it’s impacting someone close to you and so that’s what this is ultimately about, fighting shame with the truth and we’re doing it in the real world.  the world where you’re still going to school or to work handling real world responsibilities, engaging with your friends and family.  the real world which can start to feel very far away when you’re sucked into the whole of depression and anxiety.

Hi folks I’m Bob Shrum physical therapist at hanok physical therapy we are the most famous physical therapist on the internet in our opinion of course Bob today we’re going to talk about one minute weight loss calorie losing weight loss workout do this before a meal and to decrease weight and I thought you’re gonna say before meal and after a meal but it’s before meal right.
Every January, you know people are thinking about their new goals often times get the weight down and write every comment so this is one of those quick little things that you can do that’s it’s not been hundred percent proven that it works but it’s one of those little things that I want you to talk about yeah there’s some science behind it this is based on Tim Ferriss on alive becoming a big fan he he wrote the 4-hour workweek and he also wrote the 4-hour body.

Some books yeah books and they’re big volumes like this and he’s got it’s just like the 4-hour body is just loaded with hints on how to lose weight sure how to gain weight if you want to gain muscle mass yeah and he’s a very type a type guy and he does look into the science and he does check with experts in the field all over and this is one little thing you know I caught no love and I I do practice it to some extent and it did make a difference in my life sure so basically what he’s saying is because they did a study on rats and they found out that if they put the rats through some intensity exercise that they they had and then they would check their muscle and their fat afterwards so if they’re looking at physiology on their physiology and they find out that if they if you do an exercise before and after a meal could be very short you actually have more of your what you call them cells going into muscle rather than fat you’re having less fat deposited and you’re having more muscle built up okay so it’s it is a way of having less fat develop you know through your insulin and such like that by doing the exercises before and after so we’re looking at a very short exercise you don’t have to put your workout clothes or anything and then workout and then change and go back and eat yeah he went to the point where she he would do this first exercise he would actually do it in the toilet stall and in the bathroom because he was out to eat yeah I was out to eat and he does go out to eat with that and he’s doing air squats basically over the toilet right before he eats because he felt uncomfortable do it out in the restaurant well I would say we’ll show you some other things too but I mean I started like I said incorporating this and and you know the science was showing that they had to have the rats do it for like 280 seconds I think that was combined before and after but he’s thinking you could probably get by with less time so we’ve got two exercises that you can do actually three exercise that you can do and it’s gonna take you about sixty seconds before you eat and then eat and then after eat you do it again and that’s it yep and hey you know what’s the what’s the worst thing that’s gonna happen you’re gonna a little get a little workout before and after right and some of these actually have some other double benefits right okay so we’ll start out with there’s two options Bob’s gonna do one option depending on your age or your fitness level or your level of balance and strength I’m gonna do a little bit more aggressive option so here you imagine your supper supper table there you’ve got job you’ve got your meat you’ve got your yogurt you got a glove Egan yeah yeah you got your salad all right there we go set to eat healthy and just before you go we’re simply gonna do SWAT squats yep so and he can do some like and you know he was like he said doing him over the toilet I can do it over the chair she quit that part about that toilet and she gonna do five to ten of these okay and that’s the first part and then the next part we’re going to get the upper body involved we’re gonna do some push-ups now bob is going to push-ups off the countertop I’m gonna go to the floor and we’re just gonna do five to ten push-ups right there by the supper table don’t worry about it the kid the countertop get the whole family involved this is a family program so again you’re gonna get things deposited into muscle as opposed to deposited into fat right so and so I don’t want to I really like this because it’s very portable I mean you can you could hear that in a restaurant you again you could do that in the bathroom or you can impress your date yeah just do it right there in the restaurant stand up and then we’re working up posture as well right and we’re working some large muscle groups in the back side and as therapists we like to really be complete with exercises I think this one completes everything for good posture working a lot of large muscle groups and there you go I just do it on one meal not do it on my my supper basically and it seems to have made a difference for me may I maybe maybe you know there’s all a lot of other things you want on my life so I don’t always know which things is which things are working right but it definitely dropped that and oh yeah and I don’t know if I’m stronger but I’m definitely there’s less fat right you know those little things you know if Tim Ferriss does it like you said he’s he just doesn’t make stuff up no he he looks into things and uh you could take a look at his book too and you know you’ll get a lot of ideas on how to stay fit and to stay healthy right so there you go those exercises before eat and then afterwards it’ll put two more minutes of activity into the meal and afterwards he said it just has to be within 90 minutes so you’ve got some time afterwards so let’s you got it yeah you don’t have to do it right away right okay so better yet all right thanks for watching you

You may be looking to lose a few pounds and don’t know where to start. Or, perhaps you are in the process of making lifestyle changes and want to know how to take your progress to the next level. Regardless, for both of these scenarios, I highly recommend portion control! Eating the proper serving size is a great first step for moderate weight loss and to achieve a balanced diet. The good news is, you do not have to carry around measuring cups or weigh your foods to know the correct serving size.
Portion Sizes For Weight Loss
Instead, you can use your hands or common objects to estimate your portions! I’ll show you how! For fruits most men and women need to consume 2 servings per day. A serving is one cup of fresh fruit, one medium whole fruit, or ½ cup dried fruit. 1 cup is about the size of your fist and ½ cup is what would fit in the palm of your hand. One medium piece of whole fruit, like an apple or an orange, is the size of a baseball.
For vegetables most men need 3 servings and most women need 2 and ½ servings per day. A serving is 1 cup vegetables cooked or raw, or 2 cups leafy greens like spinach or lettuce. 2 cups is what would fit in 2 handfuls or 2 fists. A serving of a whole vegetable, like a tomato or potato, is the size of a tennis ball. For grains most men need 7-8 ounce equivalents and most women need 6 ounce equivalents. An ounce equivalent is 1 slice of bread, 1 cup ready-to-eat cereal, or ½ cup of cooked rice, pasta, or cooked cereal like oatmeal or cream of wheat. A slice of bread is about the size of your flat hand, or the size of a CD case. ½ cup of cooked grains is what would fit in a cupcake wrapper. For proteins most men need 6-6 ½ ounce equivalents and most women need 5-5 ½ ounce equivalents. An ounce equivalent is 1 egg, ½ cup cooked beans or lentils, ¼ cup of nuts or seeds, or 1 ounce of meat, poultry or fish.

1/4 cup of nuts or seeds is the size of a golf ball. 1 tablespoon of peanut butter is about the size of your thumb. 3 ounces of meat, fish, or poultry is about the size of your palm or a deck of cards. For dairy products most men and women need 3 servings per day. A serving is 1 cup of milk, 1 cup yogurt, or 1 ½ ounces of cheese. 1 ½ ounces of cheese is the size of 4 dice or about the size of your pointer finger. Now you are ready for your next meal or snack to make sure you are getting the proper serving size! If you get more than 30 minutes of physical activity per day or if you have specific medical conditions, meet with your registered dietitian for a more specific meal plan that fits your lifestyle..
