ZAYNE ☃️

sometimes you were awkward around zayne, but not because he was a tough person to talk with, but because you were too shy to be as clingy as you want.

sitting in his office, waiting for him to come back from a patient he had to consult, you were playing with your fingers. you wanted to ask him to spend the night at your place, knowing that he had a day off the next day, but you didn’t know how to approach him.

“something on your mind, love?” you heard his voice, seeing his figure entering the office.

he was wearing his white hospital robe, that looked too sexy on him. if you had the balls, you would jump on him.

“no.. i mean. kinda. i don’t know.” you answered, looking at the floor again.

seeing you this awkward, zayne made his way to you and crouched in a way that he could sit in front of you. he sighed, then stated:

“tell me. you know it’s not good for you to keep all your emotions hidden. please don’t do that. not with me.”

and so you asked him about your plan, and he agreed, saying: “you were afraid to ask me that?”

seeing you so happy he decided you deserved to sit on his lap while he was reviewing some blood samples, cuddling you for a few minutes while his shift was slowly ending.

XAVIER 🔅

he knows how much you struggle to express yourself, so he tries to be there for you and make it easier. so when he saw you playing with your hands wanting to say something he already knew that you wanted a lu bit of affection.

but he didn’t force you to talk with him. he knew better than that, so he waited and when he saw that you were not going to talk about what’s bothering you, he decided to take the matter into his own hands.

“you want to spend the night?” he asked, putting his arm around your waist, making you be closer to him.

“but you’re busy… and tired.” you responded, eyes on the floor.

“i know sweetheart, but i need you more. i need you cuddles.”

and so you slept at his place, cuddling and kissing all night.

you felt safe with xavier, knowing that he was patient with you and loved you. so little by little you started to be more bold.

“you are cute as a kitten”

RAFAYEL 🐟

he knew that awkward side of you bothered you, so he tried not to make fun of you. too much :)

he still did. every time you would stammer he would laugh, not in a mean way, but just because you were too cute. he would kiss you right after, saying that you are adorable.

“what did you say? i didn’t hear you”

he didn’t push you too much though, he was very gentle with you.

as for physical affection, he already is very clingy, hugging and kissing you 24/7. he likes to see you blush and then tease you about it.

“you’re so cute.”

he would try to make you to say what do you want him to do. like: “i want you to kiss me” or “please spend the night with me” because he wants to help you in the same time.

fish jokes. “even a fish is more straight forward than you.”

🍲 Xavier who has an appetite for a hearty, filling hot pot meal with multiple side orders of meat because it brings him the comfort and warmth he so deeply craves from his light years spent on self-isolation. Xavier who holds on to the memories of a previous life lived by moving on top of a restaurant that sells just that — the same hearty hot pot meal that's filled with its aromatic spices, one that he used to share with an old friend, one that he longs to eventually share with you. Xavier who doesn’t realize it but its not the food itself that brings him comfort, but the memories and would be memories he would make surrounding that tiny little pot, boiling with the restaurant’s specialty soup base, filling his senses with the sense of finally belonging.

🍫 Zayne, the elusive doctor with a surprisingly sweet tooth, always hiding little sweet treats in the form of cocoa and milk in his inconspicuous Doctor’s coat. Zayne who loves the sweet taste of sugar because it serves as a stand-in for the sweet, childish love he craves to feel. Chocolates are a symbol of love after all, always being gifted by couples to one another every Echo Day Celebration. Zayne, who subconsciously thinks that if he can’t feel the feeling of love itself, it’s good enough to mimic it by consuming the one sweet thing that reminds him of you.

🐟 Rafayel who craves for the sweet, fresh taste that the sea could only offer, always finding himself in sea side cafes and beach front restaurants ordering their catch of the day. The media thinks it’s a wonder how an artist like himself hasn’t delved into the culinary arts just yet when time and time again he’s been spotted ordering the freshest batch of seafood a restaurant can offer. But they don’t know that it’s because seafood reminds Rafayel of his home, once from many a centuries ago, far from land and closer to sea. It reminds him of how he himself would catch fish, prawns, lobster - you name it - just so he could share a piece of his home with a landlocked girl he once upon a time fell in love with.

QUICK LORE DIVE GUIDE 📖

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Rafayel's, Xavier's, and Zayne's story. It is not heavy, but it is necessary to understand.

Due to the requests I've been receiving in Discord for a lore guide, I decided to make a brief post about it. This won't be able to answer all the questions, so feel free to ask me. I'll do my best to respond. Please note that this is simply my personal guide and not an official one. What works for me may not work for others.

A few things to note:

Anecdotes can be read in its natural order, but it's set the way it is for narrative experience. My order is just based on what I noticed came before or after.

There is no prioritization for LIs, but I follow the order of narrative in Sarah Brightman's theme song. This goes by Rafayel, Xavier, and Zayne.

Myths' conjunction to the Linkon timeline is currently and canonically unknown. There are theories and speculations in the community, but this is not that kind of post. This is a focus on making lore more digestible efficiently.

While this may be an efficient guide, I also suggest looking back to the text every once in a while to refresh memory. Not necessary, but it's helpful with understanding the story.

Zayne's story involves different timelines, so Anecdotes 2 and 3 will be easier to understand after reading it.

I suggest watching the prologue in Chapter 1 and the epilogue in Chapter 8.

Once again, this is just a guideline. What may work for me may not work for others. If more lore is released in the future, I will be adjusting this post to it. As much as I try to, I'm not well-versed in all of the LIs' lores, so feel free to provide suggestions.

For a thing such as love, Rafayel is the type to feel it deeply. His heart tightens in his chest, and all of a sudden he feels vulnerable, his arms heavy with the need to hold you- or better yet, be held by you. He kneels on the ground and puts his head on your lap, content with looking like a man desperate for a sliver of your touch. Rafayel closes his eyes, letting the overwhelming sensation of his feelings soothe his frayed nerves. “Am I not too high maintenance for you?” He muses, his nose brushing over your fingertips in an affectionate graze. Despite masking on an obvious exterior for the sake of putting up with his responsibilities, Rafayel had always been vulnerable. His eyes, as beautiful as they are, always carry a melancholic glint everytime he professes his love. “I suppose I'm like a goldfish in that regard... And just like one, I constantly demand attention and reassurance. You'll get yourself stuck with a stray who continuously visits your house for a chance to experience what being loved feels like.” His voice falters as he continues, and he's back to his habit of staring into nothing again, completely lost in his thoughts.

There are just some things that he cannot say, even if you ask.

Now, don't get me wrong. I absolutely adore all three of these men but what the actual hell is wrong with them? Why do they keep calling different animals fat? 🤷‍♀️

I only noticed this "calling animals fat" to be a trend once I got Rafa's date where he's in the hospital and he takes you out walking only to stumble upon the pond. It's then that he calls 🐟 the little fishes fat. I was laughing so hard 🤭 I was like, "the fish aren't fat!" And then that's when I remembered Xavier with the birds 🐦 during his tender moments, and Zayne with poor little fox, Pie, in the main story. Poor babies~

Update: AND IT CONTINUES! I just got another tender moment with Rafayel where he calls the stray cat I had him take care of "fat" as well🤔🤔🤔

Alright, this is the last time I'm drawing attention to this. I just had to point it out after noticing it repeatedly. I still love the guys, though~❤
