It is foreign and familiar all the same; the way that everything with him seems to be. There is a security to his company, an understanding that Ishtar has grown to quietly covet, that she has begun to notice when she is without.

As she adjusts her hold on leather reins and moves to follow without question, she can convince herself that the chill seeping in to the space between them is nothing but her imagination. It would not be the first time that love's ghost has tightened his hold on the threadbare rope once woven around her throat, pulling her away every time she dares step too close.

Only as she watches his back disappear behind a door does she dare to think it may have been otherwise.

So she lets him go without chase-- stepping within the building only well after he had, disappearing into the room he had secured for her without inquiring after which might be his. That is what he had wanted of her, surely, and yet she spends the next hour watching the door as though expecting him appear through it.

He does not.

Before she can think to stop herself, Ishtar steps out into the hallway. By this hour the inn has quieted, lights beneath doors extinguished. All but one, situated not even a full stride across from her own. She swallows hard against the hand that has returned to its place around her neck and steps forward, knocking against the frame once.

"If I have done something to offend you," her voice is quiet, suddenly timid, "please allow me to apologize..."

she does! although she has not had any close encounter with one, she believes they exist. she is also curious about what they actually look like, even going as far as wondering if how they are being portrayed in tv shows and films are their true figures or not. fun fact: she thinks about that but she is too scared to actually see one for herself to know the answer.

💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?

people find this silly and childish but she has been keeping her very first character towel - winnie the pooh - which was gifted by her grandmother when she was four years old. yes, the towel is alive but obviously deteriorating at some parts like the threads are getting loose and all. what makes this towel special is that every night, before she goes to bed, she talks to it and tells it how her day went, etc. this could probably be attributed to her being an only child and having no one to talk to back in the day, but it is a habit she could not stop herself from doing. pooh is her number one confidant so if someone hears noises at night when they are on a sleepover, it is just her talking to pooh.

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep?

yes and no. whenever she is tired from a full day's work, the moment her head hits the pillow, she is gone. the same thing could be observed even when it's just a regular day but she had a particularly good and enjoyable one, sleep visiting her easily. but if she spent a regular day in a bad mood or something annoying occurred within the day, it takes ages and a lot of tossing and turning before she gets a shut-eye. during these times, she listens to classical music and either enjoys warm milk or a glass of red wine to soothe her nerves. if she wants to take it a step higher, she lights up scented candles too.

But this girl shows none, her face contorted in an anger so raw that Ishtar cannot bear to look at it. She thinks first that she should be angry-- that is what she has been taught to be when disrespected by someone labeled as lesser-- but then that feels wrong. What was it that made this girl lesser? The cage that she had been shoved in? The kingdom that she had been stripped of? The blood of her father still drying on his throne? All done in the name of Ishtar's own.

She steps shakily back, distantly aware that she should not be here any longer than she has to, and yet she finds she cannot bring herself to run. "I was trying to help, I-"

It hits her then that to help would be to restore what has been taken, to free her from this prison built within her own home. To help would have been to never allow this to have happened at all.

Footsteps echo from further down the corridor and her time for useless apologies has met its end. There is evidence of her disobedience plainly strewn across the floor of the girl's cell, and with one glance Ishtar knows that her fate rests in the hands of the other.

As the cell disappears behind her, she thinks that perhaps it is only fair. If she is to be punished, let it be at her discretion.

And the next time that Ishtar sneaks away in search of Miranda of House Ulster, she is nowhere to be found.

in a year, natsuki travels at least twice or thrice which doesn't include her trips back home. she absolutely loves traveling to the point that she feels bad whenever she has to ask a friend to watch over her dogs. she enjoys going to places she has already been to (a sentimental little baby) as well as discovering new areas both locally and internationally. whether she prefers to travel solo or not, it depends on her mood, though more often than not, she goes with her friends. she's been to america, france, china, iceland, greece, singapore, and the u.k. if asked which one is her favorite, she'll be stumped (she loves all of them!) but would eventually say it was her france trip where not only was able to go sightseeing with her friend, but he chose her to be one of his models for paris fashion week!

👻 - How does your muse handle feeling scared? Do they enjoy horror? Do they believe in the paranormal? What calms your muse down? Do they have any scary stories?

natsuki and horror do not mix at ALL! she's never entered (and will never do so) a haunted house and would only watch horror films if she had no choice and/or has been promised cuddles, food, and a disney marathon afterward. she believes in the paranormal, which is also why she would prefer not to engage in any horror-related activities, minding her own business so they could simply co-exist. they would not scare her to death. if scared, she would request company who would willingly hold her and search for distractions such as listening to music, watching comedy shows, etc. fortunately, she doesn't have any scary stories to share that would haunt her.

🎶 - What kind of music does your muse listen to? Do they have a favorite genre? Do you think the aux cord would be taken away from them?

she listens to all kinds of music, from classical to pop. and sometimes, if in the mood, would make piano covers for the songs she likes but never posts them. her favorite genre switches depending on her mood. one day she would just want to relax after a long, tiring week and would put on her collection of jazz music. the next day if she feels all fired up to do house chores and whatever adulthood requires her to do, she'll be blasting pop or edm. you bet she would throw a tantrum (just a little thrashing here and there) if her aux cord is taken away.
