“Do ya think you’ll be able to find ‘em all?” Rick’s wonderful voice came from behind you, causing you to blink and turn towards him with a smile. Since it was a little cold out, he had a blanket tied around his neck— sort of like a cape of sorts. It... was cute, honestly/ 

“Of course I do,” you said with a light giggle. “Do you think you’ll be able to find all the pumpkins with candy in them— and not get tricked?” The pumpkins were all hidden in a specific forest, and although it was getting fairly dark out, you and him had flashlights— not to mention that the hollowed-out pumpkins had little candles inside of them. There were around twenty one pumpkins in total, with seventeen of them filled with candy. However, that also meant four of them were tricks— they would explode, and there’s no way to find out if they’re the ‘tricking’ kind until it’s too late. 

Rick hummed, also giving you a wide smile. His little hamster tail began to wag. “Well, just remember that whoever loses will get punished.” 

“...Why did you say that in such a threatening way?” You said whilst pouting. This was the third year you’ve done this with him, but with each year, a different punishment is made for the loser. “The loser only has to eat... oh, what was it... candy corn pizza, is that right?” 

“Candy corn pizza sounds so gross— it’s an effective punishment for the loser!” He declared, causing you to giggle. 

“I suppose so... though, I hope I don’t find any of the ‘trick’ pumpkins. Those sound like an effective way to get pumpkin guts all over you.” 

“Oh, that ain’t nothin’ compared to eating that gross pizza. I say it’s worth checking out every pumpkin you come across, just so ya have a better chance at winning!” 

“I see you’re very passionate about this, Rick,” you commented with a grin. “But what happens if I do lose, but I don’t eat the pizza?” 

“Oh, I’ll make you eat it,” he said, causing you to giggle once more. 

“We’ll see about that... Are you ready to start, Rick?” 

He gave a firm, determined nod, and you grinned, mentally preparing yourself to head into the forest. You were going to win, no matter what! Even... even if that means getting a few of the ‘trick’ pumpkins, too!

In any case, years have passed, many years (you are an ADULT with all the letters), everything is forgotten, it feels like a dream, an urban legend, maybe it was all your imagination.
