The Weasley family reunion happens once every twenty-five years and the Burrow is packed full of people. To the point of bursting. Everyone is doubling up in rooms, on the sofa, in tents out in the back garden. That's where most of the youngest generation end up, Harry included.

And he'd just drifted off when he felt the mattress beneath him dip with the weight of another person.

"Budge up--" a soft voice murmurs in the quiet.

"Wha--" Harry slurs. Then he curses as Ginny snuggles deeper beneath his blankets. "What are you doing?"

"Going to sleep," she answers pragmatically. "What are you doing?"

Harry hisses as her fingers slip beneath the hem of his sleep shirt. "Wondering who is going to kill me first when they find you in here: your mum or Ron."

Ginny scoffs and her fingers work in small spirals along the waistband of his pyjamas.

"Ginny-"

This is a lyric from “Thorn” by Blind Guardian, which is about Maeglin, so naturally this is a Maeglin fic. It’s about Celebrimbor seeking out Maeglin in Mandos, trying to connect with him as a way of healing from the nightmare of his later years. Maeglin’s mistrustful at first, and he doesn’t understand why Celebrimbor feels a kinship with him, of all people. And Celebrimbor is absolutely determined to befriend him. 

It's angsty, but there'll be some healing in store eventually (for both of them). Lots of brooding about hubris and and deceit and doom and all that. (And daddy issues. Lots of daddy issues.)

Excerpt:

“Celebrimbor?” he said. “Curufin’s son?”

A wry twist of the mouth. “Unfortunately.”

“You would call me cousin?” said Maeglin, unable to keep himself from sounding skeptical.

“You are . . . ah, let me think . . . my second half-cousin on my father’s side; my father and your mother are half-cousins,” said Celebrimbor, which—really hadn’t been Maeglin’s point. “And your grandmother Anairë is my mother Ancaraitë’s second cousin, so on my mother’s side, you are my . . . third cousin once removed?”

“. . . What?” said Maeglin.

Celebrimbor tilted his head. “You are my cousin Maeglin, are you not?” he said. “Maeglin, son of Aredhel?”

“I am.”

“Then you and I,” said Celebrimbor quietly, holding his piercing gaze in a way few ever manage to, “have something in common.”

“Smithing,” Maeglin guessed. “Odd fashion sense. Disappointing our fathers.”

“Something that far less people have in common with us than that.”

“. . . Oh,” said Maeglin, reading the guilt on his face. “Oh, you didn’t.”

1. Doors and Beginnings is a fic in which f!Cell replaces q!Cellbit post-Purgatory in the same way Doied replaces q!Roier in our universe because of time/dimension travel Stuff, and also Roier Is Weird About Everything. It seems super interesting so far, and I like the concept!

2. One of my favorite Spiderbit headcanons I have is that Roier is maybe one of two people that Cellbit will allow to see his cat hybrid stuff (the other is Baghera.) He’s super self-conscious about the Everything, but he trusts Roier not to tease him or pull his tail or anything

3. So for a Haikyuu X-Files AU fic I never ended up writing, I had to look up exactly how long it would take to overdose on/die from cocaine. And then, on top of that, I had to look up the most deadly natural poisons. And THEN I had to figure out how long it would take for a motor boat propeller to cut someone’s head off. And THEN!!! I had to try and make up my own poison of alien origin for the fic based off of real science. And it was all! For the same chapter!

Too much work in the end, so I didn’t end up writing the fic.

You and Jake were high school best friends who kinda just followed each other around everywhere. You two both joined the Navy and somehow got stationed in the same squadron. The two of you always swore that you were just friends… but one night after a few too many beers, that line got crossed.

For months you tried the whole relationship thing but it just didn’t work. Jake couldn’t 100% commit to you, and you were breaking your own heart trying to stay with him. So, very tearfully, you broke things off with him and told him that you were moving to Virginia. Jake had cried and begged for you to stay, but you knew if you even wanted a chance at salvaging your friendship, you needed to leave.

Years later, Jake receives an invite in the mail for “The Wedding of Y/N L/N & Bradley Bradshaw”.

for ted: i've seen a lot of people talking about how he actually dislikes jamie, which. i can totally see why people believe that, it's so fair, but i? don't agree? at least not fully. i think that ted cares about jamie, and goes about it in incredibly misguided ways, and that his own trauma intersects horribly with jamie's in such a way as to make all of ted's attempts to help jamie fall incredibly flat. and i also think that the show HELLA fumbled their dynamic and all of the nuance and depth they could have mined from it, which is the main reason why people think he actively dislikes jamie. personally, i am a Ted Cares About Jamie truther. 2k4ever.

TVDU: Bonnie: Twitches is one of my favorite movies growing up that's where it started. Bonnie embodies both of the twins. Camryn has this outgoing confident personality while Alex is stern and reserved. Both are determined through it all. I see all of this in Bonnie. She goes through a lot and still has this sense of light to the world, people and even magic or herself. There's so much fiery determination in her that allows Bonnie to persevere. Rebekah!TO: Seeing less of Rebekah in TO grew her up as a character. In TVD she and Klaus look petty for lingering around s4. I love that she doesn't yield with her emotions, and we see her fight back whether that be torturing Damon or fighting with her brothers. She was still bitchy in a mature sense that she'd only react if she felt threatened too that is. Which what another fave character of mine grows into (Brooke Davis & Hanna Marin). (Okay cause my next answer is long I’m going to leave this at 2.)

Klonnie: I have a longer answer for this one but I’ll keep it simple. If TVD wasn't filled with jealous and racist writers. I wished Klonnie’s relationship started late s2-s4. A slow burn enemies to lovers. Klaus is very arrogant but he isn’t stupid when it comes to strategy. His pride would’ve been hurt knowing a baby witch kicked his ass and almost killed him. Then saved his ass! Katherine and Isobel discussed Klaus taste in witches, tbh it would’ve been in character for Katherine to direct Klaus to Bonnie after Greta was killed. On the pretense that Elena would hate it. Katherine would take joy in that

In s3 after Jeremy’s cheating (should’ve been with Vicki) Bonnie would be reluctant to believe in Klaus advances. Klaus would be attentive to the little things people are missing with Bonnie. (Ex: he canonically mentions bringing Abby back for her after being abandoned again.) HOW did he notice that? Who told him. I’m dead ass serious WHO told him that?!😭 Pretty gowns and drawings wouldn’t be enough to keep Bonnie’s attention especially after heartbreak. Bonnie’s loyalty cannot be bought it needs to be earned that’s what she’d want. Klaus would’ve called out that Bonnie aligns herself with bad people all the time he isn’t any different. Bonnie would call out Klaus for ignoring his werewolf side.

S4 can keep expression!Bonnie but with Klaus making it know how he hates Shane? Or still offering his knowledge to magic. There’s more to say but I wish the writers listened to Joseph’s and Kat’s ideas. It would’ve been more compelling to see Klaus pull Bonnie onto his side. Bring in some seduction and a second chance at love. Bonnie’s just as desirable as her friends. Treat her like it. Period.

Bonnie 7: can’t remember the ep rn but s7 Bonnie tells Alaric she’d rather somewhere else making out with a good guy or not so good. Basically she doesn’t enjoy doing shit all the time. She wants to have fun! But survival comes first.

Lucy 8: bisexual or queer period. Since TVD never told us what Katherine did I assumed they fucked a couple of times💀

You’re Jake’s best kept secret. The girl he visits at the dark club off of 56th Street. He always comes in near closing hour, and the staff takes him to the booth that sits in the far back right corner of the club. It’s the darkest part of the club, but you still spot him the moment he walks in. He’s like a flame, and you a moth.

Jake knows it’s dumb to love a woman who’s occupation is to showcase her body for thirty eyed men, but he can’t help it. He knows you better than anyone. He knows your real name, where you are from, the name of your dog, and the job you wanted to have when you were a little girl.
