MOLD-BLOWN BOTTLE of  Hans van Rossum

Late 3rd century – 4th century AD | Eastern Mediterranean, probably Syria

Size↑9.7 cm | ø 5.7 cm (body) | Weight 72 g

Technique: Body blown in a mold with two vertical sections. Neck and rim free blown, handles and coil applied.

Description: Transparent olive green glass, lens-shaped body, circular in front elevation. Cylindrical neck, flaring rim folded inward. Base indented with roughly cut off profile. Mold-blown decoration on body; on front and back, two concentric raised circles surrounded by rosette and twenty raised petals; on the perimeter, two rows of graduated circles with central bosses alternating with pairs of small bosses. Two opposed angular handles applied on the shoulder, drawn up and down, folded and applied to edge of rim. Probably the glassmaker had no good sense how to divide the amount of glass he needed; one handle is wide and massive, the other small and thin. The same with the trail around the neck; starting with a big drop, continuing in a thick coil, he ended the coil ring around the neck in a hairline trail. Pontil mark.

Condition: Intact, some slightly incrustation

Remarks: The same mold-blown design of concentric circles surrounded by a rosette was already used by the glass blowers during the first century AD. An example of this early mold-blown glass vessel is part of the Borowski Collection, no. V-52 and another one was part of the Collection of Monsieur Demeulenare no. 130. The early types however have different characteristics like form of the handles and the rim. They also does not have rows of circles on the sides. An identical example, made in blue glass, was formerly part of the Sheldon Breitbart Collection. It is striking identical with this example, except the way in which the handles are folded at the top. This blue one however is dated in the first century, so there is a friction in dating this type. Author of this book however prefers a dating in the third or fourth century AD, especially because of the thickness of the glass and the way in which the handles are formed. Mold-blown flasks with vague designs of concentric circles as on this example were first blown into a two-part patterned mold and after that inflated so the design could become barely visible.

Logan Paul also got the fourth most votes overall. Cancelled Shuttle Mission: STS-61-F

The mission would have flown on Space Shuttle Challenger and launched on May 15, 1986. It would have been crewed by John M. Lounge, Roy D. Bridges Jr., Frederick H. Hauck, and David C. Hilmers and would have deploy the Ulysses solar probe, which would travel to Jupiter and use it as a gravitational slingshot in order to be placed into polar orbit around the Sun.

It would have marked the first use of the Centaur-G liquid-fueled payload booster.

The centaur had been chosen to facilitate launching deep space probes from the shuttle. The stage used volatile propellants, Liquid hydrogen / Liquid oxygen (LOX) and both Challenger and Atlantis were modified to carry the stage. These modifications entailed a venting system for the periodically venting Iof hydrogen, which needs to be stored below −253 °C (−423 °F) to keep it from boiling.

These missions were already considered highly risky before the loss of Challenger and only experienced astronauts were allowed to be on them. This is due the stage needing to be launched as soon as the shuttle reaches orbit. This does not give any first time astronauts enough time to adjust the weightlessness and possibly developing space adaptation syndrome (or space sickness). Which "occurs when the environment and the person appear visually to be in motion relative to one another even though there is no corresponding sensation of bodily movement originating from the vestibular system.

Two such missions were planned, STS-61-F and STS-61-G, launching the Ulysses satellite and the Galileo satellite respectively. In the wake of the Challenger Disaster, NASA reevaluated the risks of the shuttle-centaur missions and were cancelled.

They were later launched using the much less powerful solid-fueled Inertial Upper Stage (IUS), and multiple gravitational assists around Venus and Jupiter to arrive at their destinations.

Ulysses was launched on October 6, 1990, from Space Shuttle Discovery during STS-41.

After reaching its intended solar orbit, the probe ran for 18 years, 8 months and 24 days.

The probe's many discoveries deserve their own post.

Zenos founders Ansar Ali and Mark Edwards met when they were senior employees at Lotus In 2000. In 2005 having helped to engineer a buyout of Caterham Cars, they became that company's CEO and COO respectively.  The following year, Zenos was born.Ali and Edwards believed there was a gap in the market for a lightweight, contemporary high-performance sports cars that should be affordable to purchase and run. The manufacturing and operations were based in Wymondham Norfolk.

This mid-engined sports car mounts a 2.0-litre turbocharged Ecoboost with a power of 253 hp at 7,000 RPM and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 2,500 RPM, which means more than 50 additional hp and 190 Nm more than its predecessor. equipped with a naturally aspirated engine. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The E10  is based on a carbon and aluminum monocoque, which provides a total weight of only 700 kilograms, enough to achieve a 0 to 100 km/h in just over 4 seconds and a top speed of 217 km/h. . It has independent suspension on both axles with Bilstein shock absorbers and is equipped with a brake system to match, with 285-millimeter discs hidden in 16-inch OZ alloy wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear.

Strive to understand have been one of the ethical issues in communication While it is important to be proactive in listening, it is important for listeners to also strive to fully understand what is being said before responding. While asking for clarification or confirmation of a point is fine, many times questions that listeners pose have already been answered. Listeners should think about what has been said before constructing a reply. Reading “in between the lines” is also an important skill that allows for understanding what isn’t said, but was implicitly said or implied.

Understanding the importance of communication

Good communication is critical in ensuring coordination and control of individuals, groups and departments.

Good communication ensures individuals know what is expected of them, that the appropriate person receives the correct information, and that there is coordination within the organization.

Many problems such as bias, distortion, and omission are often the result of poor communication. However, these can be reduced and removed, as can secrecy, rumor, and innuendo. This can result in the added advantage of conflict reduction.

Clear and concise communication and the consequences of poor communication need to be understood by the accountancy profession.

Poor communication leads to ineffective control, poor coordination and inevitably management failure. Very often, the simplest barrier to communication is not recognized as such. In many organizations directors, managers and staff use different phrases and expressions, a certain recipe for disaster but easily remedied.

 while strive to understand in communication its important to Proactive listening Proactive listening. Also known as “intentional listening,” proactive listening involves being present, focused and engaged with your audience. You’re listening for key insights, opinions, information or cues that trigger the right questions to create selling opportunities.

Proactive listeners pay close attention to the how and the why. They take the time to understand the other person’s point of view before sharing their own. They listen with the intent to truly learn who the person is, rather than listening with the intent to reply with their own thoughts and agenda.

In sales, a proactive listener is hypersensitive to the importance of getting to the root cause of a challenge or the objectives that are most important to the prospect—which makes them more adept at understanding their customers and giving them what they want. Rather than dumping product knowledge on a prospect, the proactive listener takes what they learn from listening and crafts powerful, relevant follow-up questions that move the conversation forward.

Listening proactively improves the quality of relationships with customers, friends, co-workers, employees, supervisors and family members. Ineffective listening can damage relationships and deteriorate the trust that you have created, especially with your customers. The ultimate price? Lost sales opportunities. Reference

I miss seeing my friends on Wednesday nights. Wednesday used to be youth group for me, but this year, since I'm in Ballet 7A, which is an intermediate advance level to prepare for advanced foundations or the advanced level, I have dance on Wednesday nights. Julien still goes to the high school group meetings, and I'll be able to go again once we're on winter break, but right now, I only see everyone on Sunday. They were always fun, but ballet is fun too.

I finished another book today, so I think I'll start Starfish by Lisa Fipps next. It's finally in at the library. Julien said he'll take me tomorrow to go pick it up once the library opens at 10.

Breakfast: Cinnamon cardamom oatmeal + unsweetened greek-style almond yogurt topped topped with banana and peanut butter

Lunch: Quinoa bowl with black beans and veggies topped with cheddar cheese and avocado + a side of figs

Dinner: ???

Snack: Oatmeal bites!!!!!!

Chores - Took out the trash and emptied the dishwasher

Reading - Read pages 344-410 of Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston and finished the book

Duolingo - Spent 15 minutes learning French

September Bible Study - Completed and discussed lesson 7 with family
