SUPTOBER DAY 01 - liminal
in the beginning
4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance;

I respectfully decline the canon that the handprint disappeared from Dean's shoulder and instead offer a counter idea:
The handprint stays and now Dean has a mood ring permanently scarred onto his shoulder
Hear me out
Weird angel handprint scar that glows when he's happy
And glows brighter the happier he gets
It's mostly hidden under Dean's clothes, but sometimes there's a faint glow leaking out above his shirt when they've had a particularly successful hunt. Or when he's driving on the open road with good music blasting. Or when he's having his first sip of strong morning coffee.
and there's not enough layers in his whole wardrobe that can hide the way his shoulder lights up whenever Cas is in the room

Okay but Sastiel hugs!! The fact that Castiel waited and honestly didn't expect to be able to hug Sam until Sam verbally told them so... And now when they hug Castiel holds him tight and is the last one to let go. Can't stop thinking about how Cas was so sure Sam didn't want to hug them and how Cas tried to make peace with it. And probably did on some level but that all shattered once Sam wrapped his arms around them.
I'm not okay

[[Thought I would toss my hat into the ring, since I saw it float around the TL again... (order under the cut)
Cloud Strife -- FF7
Asgore -- Undertale
Steve -- Minecraft
Gepard -- Honkai Star Rail
Cole Cassidy -- Overwatch
Admittedly, Steve is a very silly addition to the list, but he is quite literally what a cookie cutter blank sheet protagonist is...the vibes are similar, you get me? I would've stuck Ellis from L4D2 on here, but the vibe changed when I retired Red's southern accent. Cloud has also been a distinct inspiration when I write him, that relaxed self...maybe less traumatized and harsh, at least not purposefully. Cassidy has also been a staple, even if my inspiration is slowly starting to dwindle away from him--I would say he's the weakest link. Gepard, Asgore and Leon are fairly new additions, Gepard's seriousness and commitment to who he is as a soldier...Asgore's kindness, raising his hand when it's the last resort. I'd like to incorporate some of Leon's cool, relaxed but coordinated vibes into Red's character more. Make him less of a klutz, or something.

Matt Baume about Dynasty being the only show on the air at the time with a gay main character:
"On a show where the straight characters are constantly getting naked in bed together, the closest the gay characters are allowed to get is this one moment in what looks like a pizza hut"
Me: Wait.
"Dynasty was free to show Steven getting gay bashed, he just couldn't show a gay kiss."

The fact that Cas does not and has never taken Crowley’s shit is actually SO critical for why Crowstiel actually works as a Cas ship, especially over D*stiel. Because Cas basically prostrates himself before Dean on all levels but physical and he accepts both Dean’s orders and inordinately harsh judgements of him almost always without questioning or pushing back, and he sacrifices his self respect, his self worth, his own wants and needs in order to be what Dean wants him to be. But Crowley? Lol. If Crowley for whatever reason ever tried to pull anything even slightly petty or unfair, Cas would literally not have ONE second of it. He would call him out in an instant and we see that on the show all the time. And I’m saying all this as one of the maybe 5 people who can imagine Crowstiel being not just completely contentious, so it’s not that I think Cas would actually need to constantly stand up to Crowley or defend himself all the time. But it’s the idea of Cas, as someone who is VERY prone to letting people walk all over him when he wants to keep their favour, getting to have a partner who he for sure will never allow to do that, and who loves him without him feeling the need to be subservient in order to maintain that love—a partner he can feel like an actual equal beside, who doesn’t push him to the point of foregoing his own self respect and self worth. Imo.

Sorry if I am not fun or whatever but "Cas invented free will" is not even remotely an enjoyable way of viewing 15 seasons of Supernatural to me.
