Pairing: Gojo Satoru x f!Reader
Satoru takes you to meet Megumi and Tsumiki for a day of fun
words: 3080
an: one more chapter left!
“Do you have a queen?”
“I don’t think so.” The boy with spiky jet black hair, akin to a sea urchin, across from you says quietly as you inspect his ant farm.
You’re squinting, turning the small square container around on the table, “I don’t see one. Maybe we’ll get lucky, and we can find one today.” You smile at him, happy he finally said something to you after the better part of a half an hour.
“You look kind of silly.”
“Wow. When did you get so rude?” Satoru complains, “I expect that from your brother, but from you? That really hurts.”
Megumi’s been watching you with a dull expression since you walked in, eyes flickering over to Satoru and Tsumiki every so often where they sit behind you.
Really, you can’t blame the kid. He’s never met anyone, anything, like you before. You’d be curious and confused too if an anomaly suddenly walked into your life - one where you’re already a minority with superhuman abilities.
You’d know because that did happen, so you followed him.
Now, that man sits on the small couch behind you, in a tiny apartment on the second floor while Tsumiki grabs sections of his hair putting them in small colored hair ties, spiking his hair out in a similar fashion as Megumi’s. She’s giggling and laughing while messing up his “perfectly styled hair,” as he had called it; Satoru’s laughing too, but you can also feel his gaze on the back of your head, assessing Megumi’s reaction to you.
There hasn’t been one, so to speak. Tsumiki easily took a liking to you but the younger boy doesn’t seem to have feelings about you one way or the other… as far as you can tell.
“Why did you come here?” Megumi finally asks.
Behind you, Satoru sighs, “it’s been a while since I’ve come here to visit. Thought it would be good to make sure you two hadn’t burned the place down.”
In complete honesty, it was your idea to visit them at their place. Satoru wanted to bring them over to his apartment but you thought they might feel a bit more comfortable in their own space.
It’s been three months since everything happened with Suguru and the cultists who tried to sacrifice you. During that time, there have been a lot of conversations with the higher ups, a ton of paperwork (all of which Satoru was unsuccessful in threatening Ijichi to do for him). On top of all that, Satoru has been forced to do extra missions as a form of punishment for having killed several non-sorcerers, despite his arguments about how they were a threat and already knew of the Jujutsu world.
There was also some talk about firing you. About how you’ve proven to be more of a liability than originally anticipated with the whole Nanami and cultists incident, the higher ups wanted to reinstate your execution. Those conversations didn’t last long - all you know is Satoru would go to meet with them, tell you what they were talking about and then one day he said that conversation was over.
If you had to guess, he probably threatened to Hollow Purple each and every one of them out of existence unless they dropped the subject.
Due to his missions taking up a good portion of his time recently, there hasn’t been a lot of time for anything extra between the two of you, though that hasn’t stopped you from being at his place more than your own at this point. Satoru has opened up to you more as well, usually late at night or early morning conversations when he’s just getting home and laying in bed before falling asleep.
He’s talked about his childhood, and what it was like growing up in one of the three major clans, how his views are drastically different from the other clans, and even within his own. Satoru has also shared a lot of stories about Suguru, and their time at Jujutsu Tech as students. You’ve been letting him talk, open up to you at his own pace, not trying to push for any more than he’s ready to give.
Despite everything, Satoru slipped into the boyfriend role pretty seamlessly. And maybe it shouldn’t have been as much of a surprise considering everything that led up to your conversations that night over the Tokyo skyline.
It took a few weeks, but eventually you told him about the mission you had gone on with Suguru, all of the ins and outs without sparing any details, including everything he had said about you and Satoru. He wasn’t really surprised, after Suguru left he figured that’s what happened, after discovering everything Suguru was hiding.
Satoru held you close as you apologized for not telling him sooner. He wished you had told him so a wedge wouldn’t have been driven between you before kissing your forehead with the reminder that even if you had said something sooner, it wouldn’t have stopped Suguru. He was already too far gone and he was always going to defect, no matter what.
Now all there is, is to move on.
“Alright, let’s make dinner!” Satoru claps his hands together, beaming at the kids before standing up from the couch. The elastic bands still in his hair, colors making a sea of rainbow in his ivory hair.
“What the fuck? I thought we were taking them to the aquarium.”
“Ah-ah, language, little missy.” Satoru smirks before tapping the tip of your nose and you think you could really kill him at this moment.
“You’re so…” you’re gritting your teeth, nostrils flared that he just decided to change plans without your knowledge.
You had spent the last week coming up with activities to do with the kids so they can get out of their tiny apartment for a while. Also, secretly, you had planned the day around the things they liked, based on information provided by Ijichi, to try and increase the odds of them liking you.
“He’s annoying.” Megumi states, voice monotone, unsurprised by Satoru’s antics.
“One time Gojo said he was going to take us shopping for food but he only took us to sweet shops.” Tsumiki chimes in.
You tilt your head, looking over at Satoru and wonder how he’s managed to take care of himself over the years, let alone literal children.
“I’m making all of you dinner, and this is the thanks I get?” He almost sounds offended.
“Oh god. You’re cooking? Kids, we’re probably going to die.”
“Not you too,” Satoru points dramatically, making Tsumiki laugh.
“Um, Gojo. We haven’t gone shopping yet, so we don’t have a lot here,” she adds hesitantly, trying really hard not to bring his spirit down.
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I went shopping last night and brought everything over afterwards.”
You look at him with wide eyes, the only sound filling the room as everyone stares at him is when you loudly click your tongue.
“Please tell me you didn’t go shopping while I was asleep at your place, and brought everything over, entering their house unannounced in the middle of the night without their knowledge.”
Satoru’s eyes are wide, shifting between yours and the kids for a moment, “uh, no. I didn’t.”
“No?”
“Mhm. Nope.”
“Megumi, he’s worse than annoying. He’s insufferable.”
Satoru’s excited about attempting to make dinner tonight for everyone, though you are legitimately worried about how well he’ll do.
At first, you thought he would be a great cook because he’s cooked for you a few times in the mornings you stayed over at his place, before you started dating. After your mission with Nanami and you were staying at his place full time, you quickly learned that wasn’t the case.
Satoru thought you were still asleep late one morning. He quietly left his apartment, went down the street and picked up food for lunch. You found him in the kitchen, back turned to the staircase taking the food out of the containers and into pans and baking dishes, as if he had spent time cooking the food himself.
He quickly admitted that wasn’t his finest moment, and confessed he’s not a great cook either. Though, if he actually tried, you’re sure he could cook just about anything and it would turn out decent.
The kids are in the living room, playing with their toys - Tsumiki with stuffed animals and Megumi is playing with some Legos Satoru had given them a while back. Watching them, you wished you knew what the real plan for today was going to be so the two of you could have stopped and gotten them a few new things.
Satoru is in the kitchen humming as he lays out all of the ingredients for dinner. There’s a grin on his face, probably thinking that he’s about to cook a gourmet dinner and it’ll result in everyone jumping in his arms and singing his praises for years to come.
If his ego wasn’t so big you’d be a little worried that his spirits are likely going to be crushed when everyone tries his food.
It’s nice to see him like this though. More relaxed than he’s been in weeks, the serious tone he’s had to don for several weeks is no longer present. His shoulders are relaxed, eyes as bright as you’ve ever seen them.
Part of it is a mask, covering his feelings of his best friend trying to kill his girlfriend and forever leaving his side, but at the same time, he’s also truly happy to be where he is right now in this moment.
You’re sitting at the little table just outside the galley kitchen that serves as the dining room watching as Satoru searches the cabinets and cupboards in the tiny space, looking for a rice cooker and pan. There’s no rice cooker, and you’re shocked he hadn’t considered they didn’t own one and just brought his obvious brand-new, never been touched one from his place. You say nothing as he decides to grab a pot and fill it a quarter of the way full with water, and then dump half the bag of rice inside the pot, bringing the water to the brim.
Pursing your lips, you watch as he fidgets with the stove for a moment before turning it on with too wide of a smile plastered on his face.
“Do you even know the basics of cooking?” You ask as he cracks a few eggs into a bowl and then dumps most of the contents of a tub of breadcrumbs into the bowl of un-whisked eggs.
“I mean, I saw the servants do it all the time growing up. Can’t be that hard.”
“Uh huh…”
He looks at you over his shoulder, filling a measuring cup full of water, “do you know how to cook?”
“Better than you at least, I'm sure.”
“Wanna help? Could be romantic.” He wiggles his eyebrows before turning off the tap, water splashing out of the sides of the measuring cup.
“I think I’m just going to watch you do all the work, actually.” You say, putting your legs up on the chair across from you, folding your arms trying not to laugh at the mess he’s already created.
“What else is new?” He grumbles under his breath, but unfortunately you heard him.
Your mouth drops open, unable to believe what he just said as you scoff, “excuse me?”
“Oh, was that mean?” He turns around leaning against the kitchen counter with a flirtatious grin, “guess you’ll just have to come over here and punish me.”
Rather than giving him the satisfaction of replying, you glare before crossing your arms and walking out of the dining room into the cramped hall that leads down to the bedrooms. Inside a petite closet you find a few board games and decide to grab one of them and bring it to the coffee table in the living room.
“Have you guys ever played Monopoly?” You ask as both the kids watch you take a seat on the floor, dumping out the contents of the box.
They both shake their heads before you beckon them over to join you - Tsumiki happily stops brushing the hair of her doll and plops down next to you while Megumi groans, rolling his eyes opting to sit across from you on the floor.
You guide them both to select their pawn charms - Megumi chooses the dog, Tsumiki takes the ship and you aimlessly grab for your own, which ends up being the wheelbarrow.
Doing your best, you walk them through how to play as Satoru curses a few times from the kitchen area, utensils clattering around with whatever he’s currently making.
Tsumiki is glad to ask questions along the way as you do a practice round so they can get the hang of it, asking what happens when you Pass Go, or land in jail vs getting a go to jail card. Megumi is quiet and listens, a dull expression on his face with each turn, but begrudgingly he moves his pieces and quietly reads the cards he draws during his turn.
Satoru had warned you prior to coming over, that Megumi would be more quiet, probably wouldn’t say a lot and don’t be surprised if he ends up not liking you right away. Essentially Megumi is a tough egg to crack, and that’s mostly the reason you spent so much time and energy trying to tailor the day to things he would ultimately enjoy, knowing Tsumiki would be happy no matter what was planned.
A frustrated sigh leaves your lips at how your boyfriend decided to change plans without having a discussion about it first but it’s quickly forgotten when Satoru walks into the room, wrapping his arms around your shoulders watching each of you take a quick turn.
“Satoru, I think somethings burning,” you say quietly as he nuzzles into your hair smelling the distinctive scent of something that’s been frying on the stove for entirely too long.
“It’s not. Dinners ready whenever you guys want to come sit.”
“You turned off the stove? Because something is definitely burning.”
Satoru chuckles quietly before standing, making his way into the kitchen where you hear a soft click of the stove being shut off because he didn’t turn off one of the burners.
Hesitantly, you all make your way to the dining room table and take a seat where Satoru had plated all of the food. Oddly enough, nothing looks burned. It actually looks quite edible and with the plate of food sitting under your nose, it actually smells delicious too.
Which is shocking all on its own for several reasons: the lack of whisking the eggs, dumping the breadcrumbs right into the egg bowl, how there was no flour in sight for whatever meat he was planning on adding a crust to. There’s more you heard him complain about while cooking but you try not to think about it.
Looking up to him, you give him a proud smile regardless before deciding to try the safest option on the plate first: rice.
You’re not sure how he managed when he added way too much rice and way too much water but it looks light and fluffy regardless. It’s hard to mess up rice really, so you try a small bite -
“This is disgusting. I’m not eating it.” Megumi says, putting his utensils back on the table and grimacing.
He’s absolutely correct - somehow this is simultaneously undercooked and burned at the same time. You purse your lips, watching Satoru’s reaction as he knits his brows together, popping a piece of meat in his mouth before quickly, and dramatically, spitting it back out.
Tsumiki giggles when Satoru claps his hands together exclaiming he’s going to take everyone out to dinner instead. You and Megumi share a look before rolling your eyes.
After the little dinner mishap, you decided to take charge instructing Satoru where to take everyone for dinner. A cute little ramen shop down the road from a nearby park where you currently sit in the grass watching several ants pass by, carefully watching to see if a queen happens to walk by to add to Megumi’s ant farm.
Satoru and Tsumiki are running around, playing tag, spinning on the roundabout. Satoru is entirely way too tall to fit comfortably on the slides, but that doesn’t stop him from going down them anyway.
You’re next to Megumi, who didn’t want to play on the park equipment, but rather he used his curse technique to release two dogs and let them run around for a while as he keeps a watchful eye on them.
One of the dogs is fluffy and black, chasing Satoru around, having the time of its life, while the white one sits next to Megumi on the ground, as if it’s protecting him.
It’s amusing, seeing Satoru being chased by the black dog while the white dog prefers to be calm and next to Megumi at all times. It’s the exact opposite of the two boys, but yet oddly similar.
“What are you?” Megumi asks, not looking at you but rather looking off in the distance as he picks at several blades of grass before petting the dog next to him.
You do your best to explain what you had just learned a few months ago, telling him about how you met Satoru in hopes of being able to find that answer for yourself one day. You also tell him the story of what happened, what the cultists goal was and that ultimately, it was Satoru who had come to save you.
You're conscious there may be some boundaries you’re unaware of, so you opt to omit parts of the story and strip it down to bare bones, just giving the facts of what you were told, leaving the more gory details to Satoru to explain one day, should the conversation ever come up again.
“He’s okay.” Megumi says quietly. You tilt your head towards him slightly, watching him pick at the blades of grass once again. He’s pretending like he’s not watching Satoru and Tsumiki, but you can tell he is by the way his eyes keep shifting up, tracking their movements.
“Yeah, he is. Isn’t he?” You reply quietly, “shit teacher though.”
The ends of Megumi’s lip curls up ever so slightly, finally gracing you with a soft smile.

The Best Gaming Laptops in 2022
NOTE : If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link Variety may receive an affiliate commission.
Everyone looks for different features in a gaming laptop. Some want a great display, while others might prioritize killer hardware. However, these days you don’t have to compromise. More devices than ever do it all without a hefty price tag.
Gaming laptops aren’t cheap, though. So, you’ll want to make sure you make the right choice the first time around. Otherwise, you might spend all that effort getting your machine set up perfectly just to find one thing that makes you send it back.
Here are a few things you should mull over when trying to find the best gaming laptop for you:
Display Size – The display is the most significant contributing factor when it comes to a laptop’s size. The entire device is built to conform to this, so most laptops with similar screen dimensions will have a similar form factor and weight regardless of the manufacturer.
Battery Life – If you’re using your laptop as a desktop replacement, battery life isn’t a big deal. However, if you plan to use it on the go, it might be worth trading some power to get more battery life. Also, bigger laptops don’t always come with bigger batteries, so make sure to check the specs.
Weight – Most gaming laptops weigh less than 7-8 lbs these days, but that can be a lot to carry all day. When choosing a computer, be mindful of how far and how often you intend to tote it around. That 17-inch screen isn’t going to be so pretty when your back is aching from dragging it with you all day.
Now, check out our list of the laptops we count among the best models currently available.
Razer Blade 15 (2022)
The Razer Blade 15 continues the line’s excellent design. Like in previous years, 2022’s version does an excellent job of balancing performance and form factor. It’s just a bit thicker than an ultrabook while providing the power to run the latest games at max settings. The anodized black aluminum chassis feels sturdy, and its understated design is great for those who want a gaming laptop without broadcasting they’re a gamer to the world.
The Razer Blade 15 is available in multiple configurations. The low-end is marked by the RTX 3060, but you can move all the way up to an RTX 3080 Ti if you desire. It can also be configured with a 360Hz FHD, 240Hz QHD, or 144Hz UHD display. You can also get up to an i9-12900H CPU, though the i7 model should be up to any gaming task.
Unfortunately, all this great hardware in such a small package has to have at least one drawback. For the Razer Blade 15, it’s the battery. It should last a decent amount of time for simple tasks like browser and light productivity work. However, you’ll want to connect it to AC power if you’re planning an extended gaming session.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 (2022)
The ROG Zephyrus G15 makes an excellent alternative to the Razer Blade 15, especially if you want to go with an AMD processor. It’s available with the top-of-the-line (for laptops) Ryzen 9 6900HS, but unfortunately is missing an AMD graphics option. Like we’ve come to expect with premium gaming laptops, the G15 has a metal chassis and feels like it’s built to last.
In contrast to our previous pick, the G15 has respectable battery life. This makes it a great selection for someone who wants a laptop to use for productivity as it can last through a workday without too much trouble. Afterward, you can jump on it and game, but you’ll likely need a charge beforehand.
Unfortunately, you’ll want to keep your lap away from this laptop. It heats up fast, when gaming or streaming video, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve got a sturdy desk to put it on.

Alienware X17 R2
Alienware laptops have always had a bit of flair around them, and the x17 R2 is no different. While it’s not as crazy as some of Alienware’s designs from the past, it’s got some flourish that sets it apart from its contemporaries. With its 17-inch display, the x17 R2 is massive. It has an aluminum and magnesium chassis, and a unique hexagonal vent design on the back brightens up a normally run-of-the-mill part of a laptop.
The optional mechanical keyboard is one of our favourite features of the Alienware X17 R2. Most gaming laptops use membrane keys, but the x17 R2 can be outfitted with optional Cherry MX switches to give you crisp keypresses on the go. However, for all its perks, it has some irregularities Most of the ports are on the rear, which makes them hard to reach quickly and despite its hefty size, it has a rather average battery life.

Acer Predator Triton 500 SE Gaming Laptop (2022)
This is another excellent choice for those that want a fabulous all-around computer that’s also a gaming powerhouse. The industry is moving away from dedicated gaming laptops, and there are few greater exemplifiers of that than the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE. It’s another 17-inch model, so it’s not petite by any means. However, it’s extremely thin for the hardware included and has an excellent all-metal design that gives it a premium feel.
One of the unique features the Triton brings to the table is its “Turbo” button. Above the keyboard, there’s a single button labeled “Turbo,” which is reminiscent of those found on old desktops. When you press it, the laptop will max out all its fans and automatically overclock its hardware. When Turbo Mode is active, you’ll give around a 10% boost in performance at the expense of having to hear the extremely loud and high-pitched fans.

ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2022)
The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is ostentatious in the best way. However, if you’re out to live the good life at any expense, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better laptop. After all, why get a gaming laptop with one screen when you can get one with two?
At around $4,000 for the fully-loaded model, the Zephyrus Duo 16 isn’t for those shopping on a budget. Instead, this is a laptop for someone who wants something out of the norm. No machine on the market is like it, which can be good or bad. Even the touchpad is in an unusual location to accommodate the second screen.
If you want to watch YouTube or Twitch when playing games, but without using more than one device, look no further than the Duo 16. What looks like a gimmick at first sight will become indispensable once you realize how much freedom it gives you to consume content over a regular laptop.
