Length: 6765 words

Irene watched your body slumped down. Immediately her deranged episode stopped leaving some space in her heart for the panic that's about to settle in.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, wake up babe, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up"
The fear is overtaking her, her hand grabbed you by the collar and start shaking your body.
A few moments later she heard your body whimpering breath and a wave of relief washes over her.
"No, you should've told me, you should've told me that A BITCH is in my own peers. I'm sorry babe, I'm sorry"
Tears starts running down her face as she hugged your fragile body.
"I will fix this, you will never cheat again babe, I won't let it happens, you're mine, you're mine and mine alone"
After a few minutes of crying she got up and pull out a handcuff from one of her nightstand.
She locked one of your hand to the bedframe. She ran to the kitchen and grab some water and put it in the table next to you.
"I'll be back babe, just wait here okay, I will fix this"
The gentleness in her voice can only be described as unnerving remembering how she almost kill you earlier.
"You're mine babe, and I won't let anybody take you away from"
Then she ran off the room, leaving you in the empty apartment.
You woke up not long after that, your head is blaring with pain and panic.
As you tried to get up you felt a resistance from your right hand. Opening your eyes you see the handcuff on you.
The fear and terror came rushing in as you remember what happened.
"Fuck"
You feel your body starts to sweat, looking around you didn't find your phone, only yous scattered outfits from the night before.
After dancing around with the devil for awhile you forgot that the devil is a devil for a reason.
Thinking you find a way to tame her. Ha, lay these foolish ambitions to rest.
You were never in control, she have you, she owns you, and if you keep acting up, god knows what she's gonna do to you.
Run, that's the first thing that come to your mind. From the room, from the apartment, from Korea.
Then your logic came in and tell you that she knows where your family live, she knows everything about you, and running, will only make things worst.
You hate your logic.
Despite your fear you still, care for her.
What a twisted love, perharps she is right, you two belong together.
You sat there silently with nothing but your fear and anxiety.
You hear your heartbeat, the clock ticking, the AC, it all made time move so slowly.
Then you heard the front door opened followed by the sounds of footsteps.
You instinctively try to call out for Irene. Yet the sound stuck in your throat, some because your throat felt painful, you can't say anything. Some because you're scared to meet her.
Then the footsteps got close, you feel your body shivering. Every step is a booming roar that made your body want to crumple out in itself.
Then the door opened, and you feel your heart stop.
There she is, Irene, watching over you with worried expression.
For a moment none of you moved, then she ran to you.
"Babe, I'm sorry"
You felt her body crashes on to you.
The weight of her body pushed you down making your hand pull on the cold hard steel of your handcuff.
The pain is severe, but you didn't say anything.
You just sit there, watching her rub her face all over your chest.
"Baby, you're not hurt right? Say something"
You saw her raised her face, her eyes is empty and cold. Her fingers felt like a block of eyes as it touches your skin.
"It's okay baby, I'm here now, nobody else gonna hurt you, nobody will seduce you and take you away from me ever again. Everything will be okay"
Everything will not be okay, your mind races trying to find out what she did while you were out.
"Say something babe"
Her face contorted for a little to show that she will not take your silence any more.
You opened your mouth but then your throat failed to make up words and you just cough.
"Oh my god, I'm sor sorry, here, drink this babe"
She took a glass of water, you think it's water, from the nightstand and try to feed it to you.
Meekly you oepned her mouth as she pour it to your mouth.
"There, better?"
She smiles, her mouth does, her eyes is still empty and cold.
You shake your hand and using your free hand you scratched your neck.
"Oh my god, wait here, I will get some tea for you okay"
Seeing her about to leave again you grabbed her hand.
She looked back at you, you pointed at the handcuff you have.
"No, you need to rest here, and I'm not letting you off again mister, you will stay here as your punishment"
She tried to leave again but you are desperate to get out of the bed.
The eternity of waiting before has made you feel scared of being left off alone there again.
"No, you're being punished, stay"
You flinched hearing her scold you. Yet you grab her wrist and pulled it closer.
You caressed it and point at the handcuff that your other hand rattle.
"What?"
Her eyes look at you with a little more gentleness.
You point at the cuff that's locked to the bedframe before pointing at her hand.
"Awwww, you must've been bored right? Okay you can come with me then"
She took out a key from her pocket before uncuffing the bedframe and cuff you to her hand.
"Mwah, this feels better, we belong together, come on, let's make some tea"
You followed her outside, looking at the clock next to the bed you realized you waited there for almost 3 hour.
You follows her every move as she prepare a honey tea for you.
"It's okay babe, everything gonna be okay"
It's a chant, she keeps chanting it to you trying to make you feel relaxed.
As you wait for the water to boil she sat you down at the dinner table and sit on you.
"I've missed you babe. It must've been very boring there right?"
You just nodded.
"Listen, I'm sorry about earlier okay babe? I really do, but you can't hide those things from me, you have to tell me if you think one of your ex is around okay?"
You nod again.
"Good, I love you"
You immediately kissed her. She let out a happy squeal as she made out with you.
Oh boy, you're into her, somehow all the fear you had just washes away. You're happy she's back, and that she's no longer mad.
"I love you babe, come on the water is boiled already"
After she finished pouring the tea the tow of you cuddle up in the couch.
Playing around with her hair you see her empty eyes slowly turned back to normal.
By lunch you two were already back to the physically intimate couple like before.
"Can you speak now?"
"It's a little painful"
"Awwww, I'm sorry okay babe"
"It's, fine"
For some odd reason she doesn't want to go out for lunch with you, it's weird huh.
The takeout was fine, it was meh compared to the food she used to bring you to.
"So, when you were resting earlier, I decided to check out some house for us to get"
There is still some sense of self preservation in your head that screams desperately for you to wake up.
"I, told you yesterday"
She shake her head indignantly.
"That was yesterday, after what you said this morning I'm not taking ANY more chances, no bitch will take you away from me ever again"
"But, I have to pay for it"
"Ssshhhh, if you really want to pay for it then, make me songs. There's this one house that is just perfect for us. It have a gym, a sauna, a pool with a jacuzzi, it even have two bedroom next to eachother that we can turn into a music studio. You'll live it, I already put in my request, I'm sure they will come back to me anytime"
Reluctantly you nod making her let out a happy squeal.
"Shower"
You groaned.
"Heheheh, okay, let's take it together"
There was too much words to convince her not too so you decide to just let it off.
Thankfully she realised that both of you need to take off the handcuff so the restricting feeling in your hand was gone for awhile.
"Hmmm, I love you"
She hugged you before pushing you inside.
The hot water from the shower washes over both of your body.
"Wash my back babe"
Irene turned around to show you her back. An alluring view your weak mind is to vulnerable to.
Running your finger through her spine you see her body shuddered.
"Are you still not tired from last night babe?"
She whimpered, you grabbed her tits from behind while your other hand wrapped around her to her vagina.
"Hmmmm, baby"
Your mouth start to kiss her neck, your right hand is massaging her tits and your left hand is rubbing her pussy.
"Ahhhhh, there baby, do it again"
"Fuck, bite it harder"
"That's it, pinch my nipple agai- aghhhhh"
Your timidness is all gone, leaving nothing but your hunger and lust.
Without hesitation you plunged your cock into her pussy.
"Baby, yeah, fuck me, fuck me harder. Your dick is mine, it belongs to me and only me"
You pushed her to the glass wall as you start pounding her from behind.
"Baby, mark me, fill me up again, use me"
You are so fucked, you can't escape her, she have got you fully wrapped around her fingers.
Since you're still tired for last night you didn't last long before you cum inside her yet again.
Irene is so used to cumming with you that the moment your cock start throbbing her orgasm would follow suit.
"Haaa, Haaa, let's, get cleaned"
Your rough voice seems to be a new link for Irene. You should be careful, she might start choking you out again to bring it out.
"So, I've send the request to transfer you under me okay? Tomorrow we are going to meet my boss and we will tell them about our dating situation"
You honestly don't care about them anymore.
"Hey, are paying attention"
No, but you can't say that without angering her.
"They're not important right? You're not asking for permission, just reporting to them about what you want to do"
The answer pleased her as she kissed your cheek.
"I, want to rest babe, my tank is empty"
The night went by quietly, nothing to note off. It was the calm before the storm.
The storm, was getting ganged up by 4 girls trying to pester you with questions.
"Enough, you're scaring him, and don't touch him"
Thankfully your girlfriend scare her member off by holding on to you tightly.
"Hehehehe, I told you they are dating"
"You only said that because you find out before us"
"Hey I told you that the rumour might be true before I even know about it"
"That's right, unnie was super suspicious when we first do the trainee check up the first time"
"Right? And she went to the bathroom not long after him. Once she got back she was smiling like a kid"
"You didn't take picture of it?"
"I don't have time"
"Come on guys, we need to band up together"
"Right, so, blue?"
The four girls turned to you making you a bit nervous.
"Yeah, blue is fine"
"Right, so who comes on to who?"
You glanced at Irene who's holding your arm like her life depends on it. She's glaring at her member who doesn't seems to mind.
"Well, Noona asked for my number first"
The four of them gasped and turn to Irene.
"Unnie, you're so brazen"
"Yeah, what the hell, you always said you hate exchanging number with stranger"
"You hate men too"
"Do you guys know eachother before that?"
Seulgi turned everyone attention back to you.
"No"
The four of them look at Irene bewildered again.
"Are you..... Who are you?"
Wendy said to Irene who just keep her calm expression.
"Wait what did she say to get your number?"
"Well, she said she's sorry for not giving me any comment earlier. I said it's fine, she asked if it's okay then for her to watch me again to help guide me. I..... Really thought she meant the trainee in general. I say yes, and she asked for my number"
"Unnie has actually a good flirting skill?"
"That's unbelievable, unnie, why did you do it?"
Irene just raised her face without saying anything.
"She took you out to a dinner after that?"
"Not exactly, she forced me to workout early at the company gym. After that she will have breakfast with me, she would just talk about her days from before. It goes for a we-"
Wendy suddenly interrupt you.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on there, unnie tell you about her days?"
You nodded while Irene is hugging you tighter.
"Unnie, who are you"
"He answered your question already, now let us go, we have an appointment to attend"
All four of the blocked the exit making Irene grunt.
"What happened next, when did you start going out?"
You looked at Irene who nodded at you.
"Well, I think it was after a week plus of that new morning schedule. I didn't had money to eat and I also want to focus on practice and skipped lunch. Irene, kinda find out and dragged me out to get lunch"
"Wait, how do you know unnie?"
"I have my ways"
"Noona kinda stalks me really"
"Unnie"
The girls stare at Irene with disbelief while Irene just blush and glared at you.
"Waahhhhh, unnie is stalking someone"
"Unnie always do a background check for all the guy I hook him up with. Of course she's gonna stalk the one she likes"
"I'm not stalking"
"You were a bit of a stalker babe"
"No I'm not"
Irene looked back at you with a blush making her look so cute. She definitely won't try to kill you when she get jealous.
"How did unnie ask you out?"
"Well, I was a bit pissed, I don't like, well I just don't like it when people pay for me. It make me feel pitied. She then asked if that's what I think she's feeling, I said yes because I don't really have much selling points. She said she like me, I was like okay, thanks. Then she clarified that she likes me, romantically.
"I guess my brain just short circuited from there. She said she want me to go out with her, and from now on I'm her boyfriend. I just say yes"
"That's not unnie, you're can't convince me that is unnie's doing"
"Enough, we have to go, let's go babe"
Irene used one hand to hold you while the other is pushing her member away so none of them get to touch me.
Once we escaped the lion's nest we walk to the crocodile den, a meeting with a bunch of higher ups.
You feel, small, and weak. There's 15, that's right, 15 people sitting around a U shaped table making it feel like you were in a trial.
Irene confidently walked in with you in her arm.
"Let's just get this meeting over with, I want him under my wing and I want it now"
"Welcome you two, please have a seat"
You sit, you gaze to nothingness and just sit there while Irene is arguing with the people there.
It took around an hour until they finally relented. Irene happily parade you all the way to the car.
"I'm so happy, we will be together from now on babe"
You're happy too, right?
"Me too babe"
Well you sound kinda forced although it's not entirely clear was it because your throat is still hurting or because you're not as happy as you should've.
"Let me kiss you"
She tried to grab your head but you back away.
"We're in an elevator babe, wait until we got back in the car"
An ugly frown creept up on her face.
"Once get back I'll kiss you however long you want"
She nodded but the frown doesn't leave her face.
At the basement, the elevator door opened. The people who's waiting for it are, Aespa.
You see Aeri there stare at you shocked, you felt your hand almost break from Irene's grip, you feel your heart jumping out of your chest.
"Good mor-"
Karina tried to greet you and Irene but Irene already dragged you away leaving the 4 girls bewildered by her antics.
"Baby calm down"
"Calm down? Did you see how she sees you? She was trying to win you back. That fucking VULTURE SON OF A BITCH"
Thankfully the car is somewhat soundproof so her roars doesn't echoes throughout the basement.
"Baby calm down, don't you trust me? I will never leave you right? Even if she tried I will reject her"
"She will try to put her filthy fucking hands on you and I won't allow that. Oh baby you're mine, every inch of your body is mine, I won't let her touch a single strand of hair from you"
Her eyes turned cold and empty again. You need to fix this quick.
"We won't see her again, we'll be living together from now on right? I won't need to come here so we will never crosspaths again"
It's somewhat working, her anger doesn't subside but at least it doesn't raise.
"We'll be together okay, you want me to never cheat, and I promise you, I will never think about any other girls again. So can you please do the same for me babe?"
Satisfied she nodded and grab your head.
Your make out session doesn't last long as a car drove past yours making the reluctant Irene let you go.
"Should we, check out the house?"
"You know me so well babe"
The house is nice, secluded in a gated community, a very big house with spacious interior and backyard.
The first thing you want to check was the basement, which thankfully doesn't exist. You wouldn't want a stranger living there, or, being chained there by an angry Irene.
"You love it?"
Irene hugged you.
"Yeah, this place is nice"
"Good because they contacted me back, we got the house"
Irene jumped towards you for a hug.
As you two are celebrating you felt your phone buzzed.
"Who's that"
Irene looked at you angrily, cautiously you pulled out your phone and check the caller. Thankfully it was just your mom.
"I need to answer this"
"Put it on speaker, I promise I won't say anything"
Despite her begging frown expression you know it's not really an option to say no.
"Hello mom?"
"What did you do? Your father just got a call that you're dropping off the trainee program"
"Oh yeah, about that mom, I kinda got a better offer"
"I thought you wanted to be an idol"
"No, I mean, yeah, kinda? But a few days ago I got a test, which I performed a song that I made for my girlfirend-"
"You have a girlfriend already? Don't tell me I'm becoming a grandma soon"
"No, not any time soon. Let me just finish my story mom, so I performed it, in front of a bunch of idols. They like it, and they said I have a potential in being a producer. So I'm training to be one, I can still make music, I got paid enough, and I can work from home"
"Hmmmm, are you getting scammed again?"
"What? No"
"Me and your dad is coming to Korea this weekend sweetie so you better give me a through explanation"
"I..... Okay, I'll see you here mom, love you"
"Love you too sweetie, don't lose your money from gambling while you're there"
That's your mom, always so vocal about your weaknesses and stupidity.
"My mom is coming here"
Irene looked panicked, she walked around the room nervously.
"Baby, relax, things will be okay, mom and dad would love to meet you"
"You think so"
Irene mind is filled with countless anxious thoughts.
What if they don't like me? Will they take babe away from my? Will they cause problem? Will babe choose them over me? Is babe gonna be made if I cut them off from his life?
Slowly her anxiety descend into sinister idea.
She can't have your relationship ruined again by other people. She will hold you, and she will never let you go.
Knowing Irene for sometime you know Irene is slowly going insane with her paranoia.
You grabbed her by the shoulder.
Woken up by your touch her crazed eyes look on to yours.
You flinched for a moment before having determination fill your face again.
"They will love okay? Trust me on this, and even if they don't, it won't change a thing. Nothing will change this, us"
The cracking sound of Irene's insanity is almost audible for both of you.
Once again she is reminded of the warmth your body has always gave off.
The warmth she has grown accustomed to somehow become intoxicating once again.
You're right, they won't change a thing between you and Irene. She understands that now.
"Okay baby"
A sense of relief has was washed over you. For now, you finally gain the control of her.
"Come on babe, let's go home. You must be tired from the meeting earlier"
Irene hugged you and ribbed her face all over your chest.
"Yeah, I want to cuddle again"
Saturday has rolled around, you and Irene drive to the airport to pick up your parents.
Due to the nature of an airport you know Irene won't be able to walk around without being spotted.
Much to her dismay you suggested for her to wait in the car.
To gain her permission you let her leave a hickey on your neck, noticeable for anyone with a functioning eyes in a 10 meter radius.
The longer you waits for your parents the more anxious you become. Mostly because you know how anxious Irene would be the longer you waited.
The moment you saw your parent walked out of the customs with their bag you ran to them.
"Sweetie? What are you doing here?"
"I want to pick you up"
"We can get to your place with a taxi sweetie"
"That's the thing, I'm not in my old place, come on, my girlfriend is waiting"
You picked up the suitcase your father is bringing.
"Your girlfriend? Where?"
Your dad looked around.
"She's in the car, it's complicated, you'll understand when you meet her"
Your parent looked at eachother before following you.
"Did you do anything stupid until you got riddles by bitemark from her?"
The blush on your face doesn't match with your green jacket unfortunately.
"She's, a bit aggressive"
"Is she rich?"
"Dad"
"Come on your mom and I is not stupid, did you seduce a sugar mommy and got a job as her personal musician or something?"
If only you inherited your parents intelligence, you might be able to evade Irene.
"It's, I love her okay?"
"Sweetie, as much as we love you, we know you're pretty stupid"
"MOM"
"She's right, you came to Korea just to follow your ex"
"Okay, first if all DO NOT mentioned that to her"
"Okay, but if we don't like her then we're pulling you up"
Prayers, that's all you have in your mind, you pray so that Irene didn't fuck up the dinner.
"There she is"
The moment you walk to the parking lot you see Irene drove to you.
You quickly opened the trunk and drop your parent's suitcase.
They waited till you finish before getting in the car with you.
"Mom, dad, this is Irene, my girlfriend"
Irene grabbed your hand nervously before turning around and greeted your parent.
"Do I know you, your face seems familiar"
"It does, ohhhhh, I know, she's that girl on the poster our son hang around his room"
Irene stupefied expression turns to you.
"You have posters of me?"
"Yeah, it's no big deal"
Your blush crept up to your face again, Irene watched your sudden embarrassment in satisfaction.
"You're right darling, he have like 10 poster of her scattered around his room"
"Dad, go introduce yourself"
Irene was smiling proudly at you.
"Of course, nice to meet you Irene, we're this rascal's parents. We do want to know how this thing came to be"
The ride was silent, Irene constantly grabbing your hand anytime she could.
You can feel your parent is watching her move, and you know she realised that.
Of course Irene doesn't care, she wants you.
Once you all get to Irene's place you went to heat up the food you've prepared from before.
"So Irene, how did you two meet?"
You really want to stay there with Irene as your parent interviewed her.
Unfortunately you have to tend the mash potatoes.
You don't really want to stay there do you?
"Alright, dinners ready"
Bringing out the food you then sir next to Irene before the 4 of you have a nice dinner.
"This is a nice place Irene, you have a good taste"
"Oh, thank you mom"
Seeing your dumbfounded expression your mom laughed at you.
"Come on baby, she's your girlfriend, I don't need formalities with her"
The fear in your heart is slowly being lifted.
Gazing into Irene's loving eyes, you can't help but to crack a smile.
Irene has been elated and joyful after having some talk with your parents.
They are pleasant and seems very supportive of your relationship with her.
The last few nights she has been restless in her sleep and would woke up early crying.
You have to keep reassuring you that your parent would love her.
Of course, you would never expected them to be this...... Accepting?
After finishing out the food Irene bring out a bottle of wine the four of you enjoys.
"So, are you two moving in together?"
"Dad come on"
"Of course, we are preparing his things from his old apartment before moving it"
"Oh this place is such a nice apartment, to live in"
"Thank you mom, but I think we're moving out soon"
"Really?"
"Yeah, we're getting a house"
Irene grabbed your hand triumphantly announcing your future plans.
"Oh, that's great sweetie, you should get married while at it"
"MOM"
"Your mom is right sweetie, might as well at this point"
"Mom, dad, can I talk to you for a second"
Irene is displeased by your actions. However she will act polite for now. Do expect some scolding after your parents go to sleep.
Your parent followed you to the kitchen leaving Irene sipping on her wine alone.
"Alright, what are you two doing?"
"What are we doing? We're just showing our support for you and your girlfirend"
"Come on you never liked any of my girlfriend"
"We like this one"
"Because she's rich"
"Correct"
"Dad!!!"
"What your father means, is that because she's a beautiful rich lady who seems to be very into you"
"And that is enough to get your blessing?"
"She seems nice, and she loves you, and on top of that she's rich. Unlike normal rich people she has a social presence and public image to keep. So if things goes bad with you, nothing bad would happens. She seems smart so she won't ruin her public image just because you two had a fall out"
"Of course sweetie that only stand as long as you're not being an idiot"
Obviously, your parent doesn't know another side of Irene that you're familiar with.
"Okay, so what you want me to marry her and take her money?"
"Do you not love her"
"More than anything in the world so if you want me to marry her so you two can get her money then I will be mad"
"We don't need your girlfriend money sweetie. Your mom and I is old, we are happily living our retirement with your siblings money. We just want what's best for you"
"You really think I can't amount to anything in life beside being a sugar baby?"
"We say you're not getting any easier path in life beside this"
"Come on, working at home, your beautiful rich girlfriend will be taking care of you while you busy making music all day?"
"Fine, but if you ask for any money"
"We won't, in fact, take this"
Your mom pulled out something out of her purse, a little box. Opening it you see, a wedding ring.
"Mom what the fuck"
"Come on you won't have enough money to buy one"
"That's insulting"
"Yet it's true"
"I hate you two"
"Take it sweetie, it's from my mom, now I'm giving it to you"
You stare at it before pocketing it.
"You're just walking around with grandma's wedding ring?"
"No, we had a potential buyer here in Korea"
The whole situation is overwhelming your brain. You massaged your nose bridge while trying to digest it.
"Okay, let's go back, don't say anything about this"
They nodded before walking back with you.
"I'm sorry Irene, we are a little jet lagged, do you mind if we lay down for a moment?"
Your dad immediately excused themselves.
"Of course, follow me"
Irene wrapped one arm around yours and lead your parents to their bedroom while you bring the suitcase.
Then she immediately dragged you to your bedroom.
"I do not appreciate your behaviour today mister"
The anxiety she had from leaving you in the airport is welling up again.
Did he see a beautiful girl while waiting for his parents? He's having second guesses about me didn't he? I know it, I know some bitches gonna seduce him away from me. I shouldn't have-
Her train of thought was interrupted by your kiss.
It calm her down, she can feel your sincerity in it making her let go of her possessiveness.
Once you pulled back she was left with nothing but annoyance.
"That's not an answer"
"You didn't ask anything"
"I'm asking now then, your parents is happy to support us so why aren't you?'
"I am, I am very happy for us, I'm just not happy with their support"
"Why? You said they'll love me"
"Love you, not helplessly in love till they want to offer you their son"
"They're not offering anything, they just want us to thrive together"
"Okay baby, I'm just shocked seeing them so happy about us. They've been very, worry that I might get someone here in Korea and have been lectu-....... Of course I won't do it"
Realising your mistake you immediately grab her again.
"Baby, I swear to god, if you even think about doing that, I will-"
"I know baby, I know, I want to tell you my parent is paranoid usually okay? But you managed to break it"
Unsatisfactory answer, but it's passable for now.
"Fine, now get on the bed, it's cuddling time"
With your parents blessing Irene happily moved in to the house with you the moment she got it.
The first few months was a bit hectic.
Irene is unhappy that she can't stay at home all day because there's contractor around the house renovating the two empty bedroom to a recording studio.
Things got easier after that, Irene would go and do her job, you would stay at home. Cooking, cleaning, writing music.
Your dad is right, being a househusband is very nice.
You would come up with a song here and there and she would blast it around the house.
The, producer in training is such a vague term for your job.
You gave them a full album demo on your first month and then went off communication for 4 then come back with a few more songs.
This, happens because Irene doesn't want anyone to sing the song you made.
Eventually they just relegate you to be the Red Velvet song producer.
You never met any of them more than once a month, but that's enough for them to put trust in you to make albums for their group and solo activities.
Live is good, unknowingly a year past, with no hitch in your relationship.
"Babe, I'm home"
Irene's voice was echoing around the house as you are preparing dinner with her.
"Welcome home back, how's your-"
She rushed after you before you finished your question.
"It was so boring, I had to wait for so long on the photoshoot because another group before us was taking too long......"
The kitchen is filled with the smell of cream soup.
The temperature is chilly since it's winter but the kitchen and Irene's arm is warm enough to make it comfortable for you.
Irene coming home and whining about her day while sniffing and cuddling to you has become a normal occurrence for you.
Yet today, today is different, today, you realised, you're home.
This is your home, and you love it.
"Babe? Are you okay?"
Irene saw you dazing off and immediately check if anything is wrong.
"No, I was just thinking, about my trainee day"
"Why?"
"I don't know, some nostalgia I suppose"
The ring your mom gave you has never leaves your side so that Irene would never found it.
Today, you found the resolution to use it.
"You're free tomorrow right babe?"
You hear Irene purr as you caressed her hair.
"Yeah, we're spending the whole day together"
"Can we go to my training room, my old training room, I want to have some nostalgic trip"
She frowned hearing it.
"I want to cuddle with you the whole day"
"It won't take more than an hour"
"Let's go now"
Shit are you ready to use it now?
"Really?"
"Yes, the place is empty already at this hour and we can check it"
"Do you want to get dinner first?"
"We can do it later"
Your hand can't stop fidgeting during the drive.
Every step you take towards the practice room send flashes of your relationship with Irene.
All her anger, all her paranoia, jealousy, possessiveness, obsession.
Also, all her cute demanour, her caring and loving attitude, her insatiable lust.
It all swirl around your head, yet once you stepped back to your old training room, it all disappeared.
Silence filled the room, you slowly walked to the middle of the room.
You remember when you first got there for your first day.
You remember when your friend dislocated his shoulder while messing around.
You remember the scolding you get for your dance.
You remember the faithful encounter you had with Irene and her member.
You remember the time she dragged you to the lunch.
You remember the performance you had for her.
How the crowded room felt empty.
How everyone just magically disappeared.
How lovely her face was.
How she desperately held her tears from bursting out.
How she desperately stop herself from jumping to your arm.
How you wanted nothing else but do the same thing she wanted.
How prideful and happy you were to surprise her.
The memory blended in with the moment.
Now the room is actually empty.
Now there is no one that would stop you two from embracing eachother.
Now, is the time.
You tried to get closer, you really do, but every step feels so heavy.
Before you get to close your distance with her, she leaped in and do it for you.
"You look so emotional babe, did something happened?"
Her hand caressed your cheek and her voice tickling your ear sending warmth and reassurance, you can do it.
"Remember when we first meet, how nervous I was"
"How could I forget"
"Remember how you were checking me out like a creep that you are"
"I'm sorry, I remember you were checking me out and got caught multiple time by me"
"Oh right, as if you didn't check me out while I'm not watching"
"No evidence so therefore it never happens"
"Remember that time when you dragged me out to take me out on a lunch where you just take me to be your boyfriend?"
"You were do stupid there"
"I'm not, then you remember the last time we were here? When I lied to you and sing you a song I made"
"You were so hot, I would've jumped you and fuck you right there and then"
"I would do it too, because I love you"
"And I love you too babe"
"Now and forever"
"Now and forever"
"Good, because Irene, I could never think about living my life with anybody else but you"
"Babe?"
"And I don't even want to think a life without you in it"
You see Irene picked up your intention.
One of her arm closed her mouth trying to hide her cries as her eyes start tearing up.
"Through all those anger and paranoia that you have, I would still stay with you"
"You with all your perfect imperfection"
"You with all your beauty and elegance"
"You with all your childish needy behaviour"
"You with all your loving and caring attitude"
"You, with all of, you"
"I am just me, a boring uneventful guy who got lucky and get you"
"And I thank the world for letting us happens"
"I thank you, Irene, the most beautiful woman in the world, for accepting me"
Her tears is running down her cheeks looking down to her feet.
She dropped her hand and grabbed yours as you kneeled down on one leg.
Pulling out the ring your mother gave you Irene let out a muffled cries.
You opened the box showing her the ring.
"Irene, will you marry me" "YESSSS"
She screamed almost the exact second you asked the question.
Before you stood up to put on the ring she jumped towards you.
Both of you tumble to the ground.
Cries was echoing around the room as both of you embraced eachother.
For a few minutes none of you want to let go.
Even when the cries subsided you still happily hugged eachother.
Then slowly Irene loosened up her hug and sit up on your lap.
You followed her and bring the ring out.
The smile you've seen everyday looks so tender yet so brilliant with a newfound light.
Slipping in the ring both of you take a moment to admire it.
She dropped her hand, you took the opportunity to grab her by the cheek and get yourself lost in the kiss.
Every cell in Irene body is screaming with joy feeling the cold sensation of the metal around her ring finger.
The cold feeling somehow got amplified a thousand time by the warmth your body and kiss is giving her.
You both were lost in the kiss, drifting off into space, for a moment you are one, your soul intertwined with eachother so much that gods would think it was just one soul, one very big and loving soul.
Then you both were pulled down from nirvana by the desperate scream of your lung.
You both catching your breath while looking down to her finger.
Then your gaze locked and you both start laughing.
""I love you""
Both of you said at the same time before giggling again.
"I like the ring"
"Mom gave it too me"
"It's more beautiful since I wear it from you"
"It's a nice accessory for your face"
The two of you got lost in the moment, in eachother, in the dreams of the future.
"Let's go home"
"Cuddle while eating on the couch?"
"You said you hate cleaning the couch"
"I can clean it tomorrow"
"Then I won't be able to cuddle you the whole day tomorrow"
"Then the day after"
"Okay, let's go home"
This is your life now. You've embrace it, and so does she. You two are inseparable.
Smiles plaster all over you and Irene's face, leaving the practice room one last time, walking towards your future together, forever.

my love when it counted. 02
Tumblr media
summary: Kenny accepts he has to try and make amends, and with Matt's help he finally manages to talk to you. But feelings are complex, words often not doing them justice, and things are usually far more complicated in reality than they are on paper. pairing: kenny omega x reader word count: 6765 warning: angst holy mother of god this one got out of hand fast. if you've been around the blog this past couple of days you know I started writing this and the next chapter as one thing before I realized it had become MASSIVE. so now I had to split them in two, this has been a wild situation. so here you have it, Kenny's angst jail. but rest assured, next chapter, the fun part, comes out until saturday. for now I'll be taking some time off by doing some Hangman fluff
02.
“You should talk to her,” Matt’s voice filled the hotel room, the only other sound being Kenny’s chopsticks hitting against the plastic take out bowl, “worst case scenario -”
“Worst case scenario, we got at each other’s throat,” Kenny interrupted Matt, voice a low and tired grunt as he stared down at his noodles.
Sighing, Matt rolled his eyes as he tried to regain his patience. “Worst case, you keep how things are now, which is already bad,” he said slowly, trying not to sound too much like a threat as he stared daggers into Kenny. “Best case, you can maybe try to be friends again,” Matt shrugged as his friend looked at him with questioning eyes, it didn’t hurt to try and keep a positive outlook.
Matt took a bite of his food, letting them both sit in silence for a second before he spoke again. “And you can start watching her matches from somewhere other than a dark corner backstage, like a fucking creep.”
Blue eyes shot back up, meeting Matt’s gaze with a mix of annoyance and disbelief as Kenny spoke in between bites, “You make it sound like it’d be easy,” his disheartened muttering just high enough to be heard.
“Well, I think you at least should try,” Matt’s voice rose slightly, exasperation at the situation finally settling in. “Come on, Kenny, you can’t keep like this forever. Anything has to be better than whatever the fuck you are doing right now,” he was gesticulating wildly now, chopsticks pointing at where his friend sat on the bed.
Kenny looked down again, shoulders slumped as he curved into himself. It was a sad sight, and the silence only made it worse. Matt could see these usually vivid ocean eyes looking lost and lifeless, something painful and wrong and just plain cruel to witness. Groaning, he slumped back into the couch, breathing in deep before he spoke again.
“Listen,” Matt’s voice came much calmer this time, genuine sympathy spilling through his gentle tones, “we both know this isn’t going well. Hell, anyone who stands in the same room as you two for more than thirty seconds can tell something isn’t right, it’s terrifying to just watch.” He paused, meeting Kenny’s gaze as the man finally looked back up, trying his best to see if he could get through this time. “And if it keeps like this, it’s not gonna be long before Tony comes questioning why things aren’t quite as fine as you promised him they’d be.”
Kenny grunted loudly, rubbing his hand over his eyes as he felt a weight sinking him to the ground. He knew Matt was right, but things weren’t quite as simple. And truth be told, Kenny was afraid. Deadly scared of a confrontation he never thought he’d have. One where he knew he was wrong, and he wasn’t sure he’d know how to deal with it. Besides, his own cowardice only made things worse.
“Come on, Kenny,” Matt’s voice came in a near whisper as Kenny looked back at him, “I know this is hurting you too.”
For a second, Kenny sat in silence, gazing into nothing as he stared down at the empty plastic bowl in his hands. He took a deep breath, blue eyes looking all around the room for a way out of this conversation that he knew didn’t exist. Gathering courage, he looked back into Matt’s brown eyes, tired gaze peering into his friend’s gentle one. He was right, Matt was right, that was the worst part.
“Shit,” Kenny paused, words failing him for a few seconds as he tried to put together his thoughts, voice cracking along the way. “Yeah, yeah, you are right. I know that, Matt. But it's just… It’s hard, ok. I don’t know, I wished I could be as hopeful as you, but I can’t.”
Kenny set his bowl aside, laying down on the bed and staring up at the ceiling, legs still dangling from the edge of the mattress. “And it’s not that simple. Well, actually, it’s pretty damn simple. I fucked up, and she despises me, hates my guts. Which, I’ll be the first to tell you, she has all the right to,” he stopped, feeling the tightness in his chest straining his voice.
Matt looked at him from the couch, brows furrowed together, as he heard Kenny’s voice grow quieter. “You know you fucked up, but you changed, that’s reason enough why you should try to apologize.”
“I don’t know if I can do it, Matt,” Kenny sat back up in a flash, misty blue eyes staring back at his friend. “Yeah, I feel like shit now. I know I fucked up, and I feel like crap for it. But I don’t know - I don’t know if I could face her like that again.”
“Why not?” Matt asked, a pause between them before he urged Kenny to respond. “What are you so scared of?”
“Fucking hell, man,” Kenny grunted, staring at the ground in silence for a long moment before he looked up once more, brows coming together, a snarl painted on his face, “have you thought that maybe this could do more harm than good? That’s what I’m scared of, Matt,” his voice hit a crescendo, shaky blue eyes staring deep into his friend’s gaze. “I hurt her, and now she is pissed off - as she should - and I’m fucking terrified there is nothing else I can do to fix this mess. I wish things could be better too, but I don’t know if there is a solution here.”
The fear in Kenny’s eyes was clear as day, Matt could see it reflected in these usually calm pools. He watched his friend try to regain his breath, giving him the time to calm his nerves as he stared almost pleadingly into Matt’s eyes. God, he wished he had an easy answer to give the man, that he could give him the certainty things would be fine, but he couldn’t. All he had was hope that this situation could be fixed, that it wasn’t completely beyond help. He held onto any semblance of light he could find, and he knew selling that to Kenny wouldn’t be easy, but he had to try.
“Kenny,” Matt hesitated, words getting caught in his throat as Kenny looked back at him with forlorn eyes and trembling breath, “I know this sounds stupid, but you at least have to try.” He watched as Kenny made to reply, waiting for a second as his friend struggled with finding words.
“Look, bottom line is if this goes south, things will still be crap. And you’ll finally be sure there is no fixing this. You can move on, it’ll be no use thinking about that. But if there is a chance,” Matt paused again, leaning in, feeling his own voice straining ever so slightly as he extended a hand towards Kenny. “If there is a chance, you won’t know until you try. And I think it’s worth giving it a go, you both deserve that closure. Please.”
Kenny wanted to argue. He wanted to complain, to scream, to cry. They’d already had this conversation before, and part of him desperately wanted to tell Matt to just drop it. But he felt too tired to do any of these things. Exhaustion seeped into his muscles, settling into his bones, heavy like lead and painful like poison. He knew Matt would keep on trying - because he cared about Kenny, and about you too. And maybe the man was right, there was a point to his argument, but Kenny felt so damn afraid.
“Please,” Matt pleaded again, sensing the doubt in Kenny, trying to slip through any crack, any breach, anything as long as he could get through to him. “I’ll even help you if you want me to, I’ll do what I can, but please give it a try.”
Trembling blue eyes fitted Matt in disbelief once more. Kenny sighed deep and loud, eyelids shutting tight before he opened them again. “Shit,” the hesitation in his voice was clear, part of him still too afraid to say the words, “alright, I’m gonna - I’m gonna give it a try.”
Matt shot up from his spot on the couch, eyes wide in excitement and shock. There was no way he could be sure Kenny would really try anything, though just hearing it from him was already a success. They could think about the logistics later, but the first step was done. For now, he was just happy to commemorate the smallest of victories.
Coming closer to Kenny, Matt took a hand to his shoulder, squeezing it in reassurance. “You are doing the right thing, man. I’m really proud of you.”
Kenny looked back at him, eyes sunken and brows furrowed. He wanted to feel as sure as Matt, but he couldn’t, all he could do was stick to the belief that his friend was right. He had to be, for everyone’s sake. Kenny reached his hand to touch Matt’s where it sat on his shoulder, muttering a quiet thanks, shooting him the best smile he could muster. Now all he had to do was find his damn courage. And hope this would be for the best.
“What?”
Matt felt a shiver run down his spine at the tone of your question. It was dry and skeptical and if he let himself go so far he could say it felt almost like a threat. Like you were daring him to repeat the words he’d said previously. To step into forbidden territory and make himself a target. Your eyes fitted him with silent rage, and only now he realized how intense they were, an apex predator waiting to pounce. He could feel ice cold daggers prickle his skin, Kenny had a reason to fear, but he also had fences to mend and Matt had agreed to help.
“Come on,” Matt called your name softly, tentatively crossing the line you had drawn, “you heard me. I think you should talk to him, Kenny wants to apologize.”
You stifle a dry laugh, the sound dying in your throat but echoing through your lips and nostrils, its ghost burning Matt’s skin. He looked around, thanking the heavens for the emptiness of the food court as you two sat across from each other in a lone round table. Looking back, Matt saw you lean further into your chair, one arm crossing over your chest as the other held a beer can to your lips. There was tension forming in the air, thick as blood, and Matt fought to quell the restless tapping of his foot as he gave you a second to respond.
“Sure,” this time you laughed, but even that felt wrong, your eyes rolling before they landed on an empty spot on the floor, “Kenny wants to apologize.”
He could taste the mockery in your voice. Could feel you closing yourself off, silently increasing the distance between you two. It wasn’t a surprise, though, Matt had been warned by his brother that you’d probably not be very open to talking about this issue. That had been right after he convinced Kenny to try and apologize, a couple of weeks ago. When the man finally signaled he was ready to have this conversation, Matt quickly realized someone would need to convince you of that.
At first, he’d approached Nick to do the job, he was closer to you than Matt, so it only made sense. Though, Nick bailed the moment he started presenting the idea, wanting nothing to do with that. Maybe, that was a bad omen. But he had made a promise to help, so he was left with no choice but to do it himself.
Irritation poisoned Matt’s mind as he looked at your distant eyes. Resting his head in his hands, he willed himself to calm down, his words echoed through the desolate space. “Tell me, why would I lie to you? What would I get out of this?”
You looked at Matt from the corner of your eyes, swallowing your beer slowly, the bitter taste staying in your tongue. Sighing, you didn’t even bother turning to him as you spoke. “Listen, Matt, I don’t think -”
“I’m just asking you to hear him,” Matt punctuated his words by tapping his finger on the table, both feet planted firmly on the floor as he leaned forward, “just to let him apologize.” Matt sighed, leaning back again as his brows furrowed, mouth curling into a light frown. “It’s not like I’m asking you to become best friends or anything.”
“Look,” you turned to him fully again, deep eyes reflecting exhaustion but remaining unwavering. “I just don’t think this is going to work, Matt,” there was a tense pause as you ran your free hand through your hair, looking away before quickly your eyes met his again, now burning with an old and darkened flame. “Hell, I doubt Kenny even fucking knows what he should be apologizing about. The person I remember barely even knew what an apology meant. You’ll excuse me, but I’m not really sure he’d feel bad about any fucking thing.”
You were gesticulating intensely, hands open at your side, and Matt tried to suppress the part of his that flagged that as something dangerous. Focus on the thought that if you were reacting, it meant you were at least listening. That he was managing to crack through your walls and get closer to you.
Matt called your name again, a trembling edge marking his voice, gentle  brown eyes locked in your intense ones, “I get that you don’t trust him. You are angry and I know-”
“Do you, now?” Your eyes widened, head falling to the side slightly, like a hunting hound closing in on its prey. Wrong words, Matthew, wrong words. “Do you, Matt?”
“Listen,” Matt swallowed hard, trying to push his self preservation instincts to the back of his mind. You weren’t quite as terrifying back in New Japan, and he didn’t know if he wanted to discover what made you like this. Breathing in deep, he shook the tension from his shoulders, trying his best to show he wasn’t here as a threat. “I’m not gonna pretend I can ever know exactly how you felt, and I’m not here making excuses for Kenny. He was an asshole, a bastard, a selfish jerk, but he isn’t that same person from New Japan anymore.”
You made to respond, mouth opening and hands raising, but Matt was quicker this time.  He could see your grip on the can tightening, fingers starting to dent the aluminum slightly. “I know my words are suspicious because I’m his friend, but I don’t even want you to believe in me. I don’t even want you to give this new Kenny a chance,” Matt gave himself a pause, relaxing his furrowed brows and regaining his labored breath for a moment, ”I just want you to have one conversation.”
“You are right,” your voice was hard and cold as ice as your eyes dug trenches into his own, white hot rage now spilling through your tone, like the small crack that dooms a dam. You leaned forward, slowly, with every word, finger pointing straight at him, “you have no idea how I felt. You weren’t the one to stand there being accused of only caring about yourself because he got angry when you got a better chance at your career.” You paused, retreating back to your chair, shoulders slumping as your eyes and voice lost some of their edge, “and it’s not like I don’t believe your words because I don’t trust you, Matt. It’s because I think you trust Kenny too much.”
Matt could see a sliver of pain show through your defenses as your expression softened, body relaxing slowly as you looked away from him. Kenny’s reaction to your WWE invitation had been uncalled for, to say the least, he knew. On top of that, you’d had years to let that hurt sit and age, simmering in the rage you felt. It was an ugly situation and Matt felt bad for it. Bad for how Kenny acted, bad for how things turned out, and bad for bringing it up again now.
“Maybe,” he agreed, shrugging his shoulders in a tired motion, eyes closing as he breathed in through the exhaustion and the tension in the air. “But I’m not asking you to trust him. I’m asking you to listen. To have one conversation once, so you can both close this shit.” Pausing for half a moment to access your reaction, Matt sighed loudly as he saw you turn your head away from him again.
He leaned towards you, voice lowering, tone turning sharp as he frowned. “So you can both stop this goddamn cold war you’ve got going before a certain someone notices it. I don’t think you’d like Tony picking up on this mess. So if you aren’t willing to try doing this for both of you,” Matt marked his words by pointing at you, elbow resting on the table as he leaned back again, “then try for your job. And our general workplace tranquility.”
There was a long moment of silence between the both of you as you looked at him from the corner of your eye again, beer can frozen in mid movement as it hovered over your lips. You could cut the tension like flesh, Matt refusing to relent and say anything else as you fitted him with a cold expression. A knot forming on his throat as your gaze bore into his soul.
“Fuck you,” you closed your eyes, voice subdued, the fight almost completely missing from it as you looked away again, sinking deeper into your chair this time. That was when Matt knew he had won.
“Yeah, yeah,” Matt replied with a low laugh, muscles finally relaxing as relief washed over his body.
“Ugh,” you downed what was left of your beer, hitting the can on the table as you turned back to him, “what the fuck do you want me to do?”
“Nothing,” he said simply, trying to reassure you that things would be fine, “just find a time in your schedule.”
You sighed and looked around, nodding your head as you rested both arms on the table. “Kenny is here with you today, right? I’m staying in the arena all afternoon to prepare, should be leaving at six, that’d probably be the best time to find me. Just rip the bandaid already.”
It was Matt’s turn to nod as you shrugged and got up to leave, his brown eyes shining bright as he looked deep into your own. It was common for Kenny to be at the arena the day before the match, so of course you knew he’d be there. Matt wouldn’t have chosen today to do this, but in this situation he couldn’t be picky, and neither could Kenny. All he could do was hope it would work out, and pray for whoever was your opponent tomorrow in case it didn’t.
“Ok, I’m gonna talk to him, send you a message later,” he smiled, mouthing a thank you as he waved at you.
Matt watched you comically snarl at him for a moment before waving back and turning around, making your way to the door. He stretched in his chair, feeling a weight lifted from his body. His part was done, now it was all up to Kenny.
Sweat pooled on Kenny’s palms, humid and bothersome as he knocked on the door of the locker room you were at. Leave it to you to find a spot in the most lonesome corner of the entire place. He remembered that back in New Japan you’d do that for very different reasons. Not that he could complain, it would be useful in this situation too. Or maybe that’s how you’d get away with murder. His murder.
He shook his head, trying to get rid of those thoughts, his mind was reeling at a hundred miles per hour, and you still hadn’t even opened the door. And why the hell were you taking so long? To Kenny, it felt like he was waiting for a lifetime, thumb tapping against his belt as he waited, his lip already feeling the damage his teeth were doing to it. The moment was stretching into infinity, he could almost hear the empty hallway echoing his thoughts back to him. Deep inside, Kenny knew he was probably not waiting that long, but his stomach had turned inside out and his nerves were taking the best of him as he lifted his fist to knock again.
His knuckles didn’t even have a chance to reach for the door before it opened. Shock taking over Kenny as he stood before you, the closest you had been in years. So far, he had only been able to watch you from far away, like a wild animal, beautiful but only from a distance. Now he had you so close he could smell your perfume. You’d changed out of your training clothes already, the wet hair and towel on your hand giving away that you’d just come out of the shower. You were gorgeous, and it took Kenny all his willpower to unfreeze himself.
Blinking twice, Kenny looked into your eyes for the first time in so long, voice sticking to his throat as he tried to say something, anything. “Hi.”
Shit, beggars can’t be choosers, he guessed.
“Hi,” it took you a moment to respond as you looked him up and down before your fierce eyes returned to his own, and you stepped away from the door.
The last time you’d seen Kenny this close, you ended up leaving Japan forever. This time you were hoping you’d be able to stay in the country, and preferentially stay in AEW to the end of your contract. But you couldn’t deny that being around him shook something in you. Something raw and violent and just all too real. Sure, time had done its thing. He didn’t quite look the exact same, he didn’t smell the same, but he felt the same. A strong, intense presence that had every one of your senses on alert. You didn’t want to be too hopeful , but a voice in the back of your mind wished that by the end of the day, this would be different.
Stepping aside, you let Kenny in before closing the door behind him. God only knew how noisy people could be, and you’d rather this talk remained private. For better or for worse, this was a conversation that should stay between you two. Taking a deep breath, you prepared yourself, calming your nerves before you turned around, coming face to face with Kenny’s sky blue eyes.
“So,” you were the first to speak, deciding to just burst the bubble and get done with it, voice as calm as you could get it to be, “Matt said you wanted to apologize.”
“Yeah,” Kenny almost stuttered the word out, unable to come up with anything better to say as his mouth dried, and you stayed in silence for a long moment, his heart trying to break free from his chest.
You looked hard and long at him, the man before you seeming sheepish, almost like he was trying to hide. A second passed as you gave him the time to speak, but he didn’t. You could feel something burning within your veins, even now would you have to be the one to do the work? You took a deep breath, exhaling hard as you calmed your nerves.
“Why didn’t you come to me yourself?” You tried to keep the poison from your voice, to sound as serene as you could. It wasn’t an accusation, or at least you didn’t intend it to be. “Why send Matt as a messenger boy?”
Kenny sighed, fidgeting in place as he lowered his gaze to the ground for a moment. Not a great start, but all he could do was tell you the truth. Looking back into your eyes, he shrugged, speaking in a quiet and tired voice.
“Would you have let me talk if I did that?” He paused for a second, searching your eyes for any clue, but you were good at keeping what you felt locked in their infinite depth. “Would you have opened the door if I just showed up?”
“Kenny,” you almost whispered, the name heavy on your tongue as you tried, and failed, to find the right words to say.
Kenny took one step towards you, a bit of the tension in his body leaving his muscles when you didn’t step back. He hesitated for a second, mulling the words in his head as the air hung heavy and thick around you both. There was no easy way to do this, no certain way to do this, all he could do was try.
“Listen,” he stopped, he could almost feel his lip trembling and hand shaking as he swallowed hard before continuing, “I’m sorry, ok? I’m really sorry for all I did to you, honestly, and if there is anything I can do to make up for it, I…”
Kenny broke eye contact as his words trailed off, unsure of what he could say to convince you of his honesty. His chest tightened, and his heart continued to try and rage against his ribs like they were jail bars. It was awful but only got worse as he heard a noise coming out of you, something between a bark and a laugh. It was dry and small and incomprehensible to him
Feeling his muscles tense once more, Kenny’s nervous eyes turned back to you. “What?”
“Well,” you paused, gazing deep into him for what seemed like an eternity, feeling your throat tighten and hoping your eyes didn’t betray the pain you carried inside, “it just seems so simple. Am I just,” you held your breath, scared of saying what you thought, a question that plagued you intensely, “supposed to believe in you and move on?”
Your voice was so terribly quiet, but it rang loud in Kenny’s ears. It wasn’t your words that pierced him, but the truth they held. He didn’t have an answer, he wished he did, that was the hard part. Knowing he fucked up was easy, but what came now, he didn’t know. You both stayed in silence for a second again, Kenny running his hand through his hair as he tried to find his words.
Kenny called your name, voice as quiet as your own, stuttering through his words as he felt his body screaming for him to run. “Listen, I know I hurt you, I know I fucked up. I know you deserved better and that I shouldn’t have said -”
You heard him say the words, you watched the hesitation in his voice, but just felt wrong. It felt lacking. Like there was something just not clicking. You didn’t know if you could ever believe him to truly understand you, to truly get all that you felt. All that he did. The loneliness this fear caused had the large locker room seeming small, almost claustrophobic, as you stood in there together.
“Do you really know?” You cut him off, words spilling from your mouth like a torrent beyond your control. They felt like blood, like the iron taste on your mouth, the sharp pain of a cut tongue. “Do you even understand what you are apologizing for? Cause it ain't just what you said on that last day.”
Kenny sights, looking into your eyes in silence for a small moment of shock as he could see the pain spilling through the cracks of your walls. “I know it wasn’t just that, I know that I fucked up multiple times through our relationship.” He pauses again, feeling the weight of his mistakes, eyes almost pleading as he looked into your own, “but I don’t know what you want me to say.”
You looked away from him for a second, stifling something in your throat that you weren’t even sure if it was a laugh or a sob. You were tired, beyond tired, your body aching from both the work day and this whole situation. With a long exhale you looked back at Kenny, you could get lost in those vast blue eyes, they looked so lost that it almost put out the burning in your veins.
“I want to hear you say it, I want to know that you can see how you fucked up,” you swallowed hard again, words burning your throat as you forced yourself to speak them out loud, ignoring the pain they brought, “how you hurt me. How you wronged me while I tried so very hard to do right by you.”
“Shit, I know, I was selfish, arrogant and controlling in so many different ways and I know it,” his voice was almost a cry, Kenny standing frozen, pain bubbling to the surface of his mind, clouding the words he had planned in his head. He wanted to make you understand that he cared, that he regretted everything. He wanted to scream for help, but there was only himself there, and he had to do this alone.
“I thought the world revolved around me, for me, I know,” his voice got caught in his throat, the heavy truth sticking to his lips like tar, the pain shooting through his body making it hard to think. “I had all those years to look back and see it, all those years to look at myself and face the type of asshole I was. If only I could show you that I can see it, that I can see how I hurt you and how that haunts me and destroys me inside-”
You felt his words fill you with disgust, the rage and pain you’d buried shaking your insides like a storm. A shudder shook your entire body as you turned around, not able to look at him as he fumbled through his sentences. When you turned back, gaze meeting his, you cut his words short. A dry laugh that sounded almost like a bark spilling through your teeth and into the thick air in the room.
“Oh yeah, it haunts you, right? Poor little Kenny, so hurt by all the pain he caused to someone else,” you spat the words like venom, letting your self control break for a minute as you felt your eyes burn. No, not right now. Not as he fucking dared to make this about himself. “Suffering by all the shit he did to someone who loved him,” you paused, the word bringing a knot to your throat as it hung heavy over your heads before you broke the tense silence. “Look at you, even when you apologize, you have to make it all about yourself.”
Kenny got stuck in place, breath caught in his lungs as his consciousness came crashing down over him. Shit, he didn’t mean it like that. Rubbing his hands over his eyes, he tried to find a way to fix it, to make you understand. He should have thought this through, but through his life he was always terrible at thinking before he acted. Now it was no different.
“I’m,” he stuttered, words clinging to his tongue and stuck between his teeth, “I’m sorry I -”
You threw the towel you were clutching in your hands on top of your bag. Rage boiled in your stomach, your veins, your throat. It burnt you from the inside out, all the hurt and all the resentment, all the things you’d buried deep within getting brought back to the surface. You could feel your skin searing, your body bursting at the seams, water trying to rush to your face as you violently pushed it down.
“I’m sorry doesn’t cut it,” you didn’t scream, lungs lacking the air for it, voice like a strangled cry, one you hoped he wouldn’t notice even though you knew he would. “You were a selfish prick for years and even now when you come to apologize you still can’t shake it off. You came to say you are sorry, and you still have to talk about how bad it makes you feel?”
Kenny watched in pain as the words spilled from your mouth like the breaking of a dam. Your voice breaking mid sentence, eyes burning deep into his mind as you spoke. You were left breathless at the end of it all, looking broken and exhausted, and he felt lost. He wanted to hug you, to hold you, to make it stop, but he knew he couldn’t. He knew the touch he wanted to share would only hurt you more.
“Shit, I,” he started, voice trembling and eyes clouded by mist as they found yours. He could feel the tightening in his throat and the burning in his face, the pain and the fear making it hard for him to think. “Listen, I didn’t mean it like that. I mean that I had the time to look at myself and see how I wronged you and I regret it. I feel bad about the things I did, and I wish I hadn’t done them, but that’s not how this works. And now all I can do is apologize.”
“Why didn’t you do it sooner?” Kenny could hear the shiver in your voice, even as you quieted your hardened breathing. It felt beaten, exhausted, but it still retained a biting edge, like a rusty nail, worn out but still sharp. “You had years, like you said, so why not?”
This was a question he didn’t want to answer. And you could see it in the way he moved in place, shifting his weight as he pondered what to say. He looked like a confined beast, a lion in a cage far too small. He averted his eyes from you for a few seconds, a large hand running through his hair and down the back of his neck before he turned back, face red and hair disheveled.
“I was a coward,” he stopped, letting the words sink in as he took another step forward. There were no two ways about it, that was the truth, one he hated to admit. Shame gripped at him, clawing under his skin, making him fidget even more before he spoke again, voice low and almost melancholy. “I was afraid. Afraid of facing you, of facing my mistakes, so I ran. I ran.”
There was a long moment before you answered, voice quiet in disbelief, almost like you were muttering to yourself. “At least you admit your cowardice,” you watched Kenny swallowing hard, the truth weighing on him. Deep inside you wanted to trust that he could change, it would make things easier, but facing the truth of his actions, you didn’t know if you should. “You ran, you were afraid of facing what you did. Why should I believe this is any different now?”
Kenny averted his eyes from you, letting a small sad laugh escape his lips, he hoped he didn’t sound as beaten as he felt, but he knew he did. That was a good question, you were right to ask it. But he knew that good questions rarely had easy answers, this one didn’t either.
“Ah, I don’t have a good answer for that,” he admitted quietly, finally looking back at you. “I can only ask you to trust me.”
“And after everything you did,” your voice was close to a whisper, but it burnt with a quiet white rage, one so painful that it silenced your need to scream, “why should I?”
Kenny grunted, pulling at the roots of his hair, feeling his heart racing and his body hurting in every single place. He could feel a fire burning within, raging inside his mind, setting his bones aflame. Every fiber in his being wanting to run, to leave, to escape this place, this situation, everything. Restlessness settled in his nerves, from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head.
“Fuck, all I can say is I know I fucked up, ok? I know even now I still am doing it and I barely even know how to begin to apologize, how to even try to make it up to you,” his broken voice rose without him noticing, exhaustion blinding his mind from his senses, isolating him in a terrible place within his own head. “You were right to leave me back then, I was a piece of shit. And the things I said to you - I fucked up, ok. Big time, I’m aware, but what do you want me to do? Grovel at your feet? “
You shook your head, part of you didn’t want to believe the situation, but another screamed that it was obvious from the start. “Fuck you Kenny,” you swallowed your pain, tired voice going back to its icy touch as you took one step away from him, “I just want you to own up to your mistakes, to be honest.”
“I am! I’m being as honest as I can be right here,” you winced at his booming voice, but Kenny was too caught in his head to notice, his conflicting feelings blinding his eyes. “I realize how bad I fucked up, and it hurts me every single day, and I don’t know what to do with these feelings. What to do with this situation and -”
“Maybe start by not getting angry just because I pointed out how hard it is to even trust your words, let alone your behaviors,” you raised your voice, interrupting him as you took a small step back, legs hitting the bench behind you.
When your voice reached his ears, Kenny was brought back to reality with force. His eyes widened as he watched you backing away from him, realization hitting him hard. He extended a hand towards you on instinct before pulling it back to his side, noticing your balled fists and furrowed brows. Pain coursed through his lungs, burning his throat like lava. He couldn’t reach you. He failed in reaching you.
“Fuck. I’m sorry, I’m just,” he swallowed the knot in his tongue, quiet shaky voice laying heavy on his dry mouth. He could feel his eyes brimming as he called out your name, one last try to put this matter to rest. “I came to apologize to you and whether I can make you believe it or not, that’s what I’m trying to do. I am really sorry. And I know you have the right to be angry at me, I’m not stupid. But now I just wanna see if we can let this whole mess lie, or at least pretend to and act normal around each other. Just like fucking distant colleagues, nothing more, if anything for the sake of our jobs. Okay?”
You watched Kenny stutter through his words, trembling along his sentences as he looked deep into your eyes. His baby blues looked tired, broken and misted over. You had to steady yourself and not let them shake you. Tears couldn't fix what was broken. When Kenny extended his hand to you, you regarded it with apprehension for a long silent second before taking his offer. Your skin touched his for the first time in years in a firm handshake before you broke away.
“Alright,” you said softly, exhaustion corroding even the edge in your voice. You evened your breathing, inhaling deep as you got a hold of your own mind. “It’s true, you are right. We gotta put this to rest. Act like adults. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m sure I’ve left my ride to the hotel waiting long enough. Have a good day, Kenny, see you in the show tomorrow.”
You turned around, picking your bag and towel before going through the door, leaving him alone in the empty locker room. You had someone waiting for you outside, the thought shouldn’t have bothered him, but it did. Kenny had seen you and Hangman fraternizing together through the day, watched the man helping you prepare and even training with you. He could imagine the cowboy was your ride - as he’d wanted to be since long ago. Kenny didn’t want to think about that right now, shaking his head as he looked around the deserted room. Shit, now he had to go tell Matt things didn’t go quite as planned.

GN Reader/ Cody
You and Cody finally get close.
Tumblr media
The two days after Heralt left are the longest you’ve ever experienced, you so badly want Cody to be well enough to hold again. Whatever she’s given him is working, but everyone has agreed that you and Kellis should still cover up around Cody until the day after he finishes it, just to be safe. He’s able to get up and walk around for normal periods of time, and he’s finally had a proper shower and shaved. When he steps out of the refresher afterward, he looks so much like the man you remember that it takes everything you have to not run over and wrap your arms around him as closely and tightly as you can.
Beyond that, he’s completely lucid again, and in fact has been since the night he talked to Kellis. You spend a lot of time on the balcony of Kellis’ place when he’s home from the bar, like you are right now, reflecting on what you overheard in that conversation.
If Rex really is out there helping other clones escape the Empire, you know that Cody will never be content to not get involved, even if he is with you again.
Kellis had said that he’d call a few people and see if there was any veracity to the rumors, but there’s no sign that he’s heard anything back yet. If it isn’t true, then you and Cody can leave this sandy rock and  pursue everything you two dreamed about for your life together after the war. If the rumors are true, though, you won’t hold him back. You’d go your separate ways again, as much as it would hurt.
The sliding glass door that leads back inside opens, the wheels in the track grinding against built up sand and dust, and the resulting sound it makes yanks you out of your own head. You glance over, and it’s Kellis, holding the empty tonic bottle.
Tumblr media
“That was the last of it, he should be clear by morning,” Kellis says, sounding relieved, and casually tosses it to you. You don’t move quickly enough to catch it, so it shatters on the duracrete floor at your feet. You sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose, then stand from the ancient wicker bench you were sitting on.
“Sorry, I’ll clean that up,” you say. Your voice is thick, and Kellis obviously notices; when you try to walk past him to get back inside, he stands in front of the door, closing it and stopping you.
“That can wait,” he says, crossing his arms and frowning at you. “What’s wrong?” he asks. You open your mouth to speak but he holds up a hand and stops you. “And don’t say ‘nothing’, I can tell something’s up. You haven’t spoken since the night I came back, and now when you do finally talk, you sound like you’re going to cry,” he says, firm but not unkind. He relaxes his posture, unfolds his arms, and softly grips your shoulder with a hand. “Talk to me, please,” he says, his eyes searching yours. You glance at the door, but Kellis stops you again. “He’s asleep,” he says, “he won’t be able to hear.”
You look through the clear glass and see that yes, Cody appears to be asleep on his side and facing away from the door. You sigh heavily and turn around to lean on the railing of the balcony, staring out over the endless expanse of featureless desert while you try to find the right words. Kellis also turns and stands next to you. After a few seconds in which you say nothing, he doesn’t push you, allowing you to speak at your own pace, which you’re grateful for.
The two of you watch as the twin suns of Tatooine begin to drop beyond the horizon, the orange light warming your faces. You once again think of the orange paint on Cody’s armor, and wonder if you’ll ever be able to see another sunset without thinking of him. You hiccup and Kellis glances over at you, then when you see the concern in his eyes, a few tears escape your own.
“I… listened in while you two were talking that night,” you say softly, staring back out over the sands. “I know about the ‘rogue’ clones. Have you heard anything?” you ask, your voice strained by the effort of keeping your emotions in check.
Kellis moves back from the railing, takes a few steps past you, and sits heavily onto the wicker bench. You turn to watch him, and when he subtly jerks his head at you, you sit beside him.
“No, I haven’t heard anything,” he says quietly, sounding tired. “Not yet.”
“Please, Kellis,” you say, hiccuping again as you turn to face him. “Please let me know the moment you do.”
“Of course,” he says, nodding and putting an arm around your shoulders before giving you a reassuring squeeze. You realize this is the closest you’ve physically been with someone, likely since you left Cody, and barely hold back another hiccup.
“Has Cody asked about it?” you say, and Kellis shakes his head.
“I think he’s still trying to make up his mind,” he says quietly. “You’ve decided something, haven't you?” he asks.
Before you can wonder how he knows, he’s pulled you into a tight hug. The abrupt realization of how touch-starved you are is quickly overshadowed by the weight of the situation, and finally, your fragile composure breaks. You crumple face first into Kellis’ chest and he simply holds you there, allowing you to get it all out.
After some time, right when the smaller sun dips below the horizon, the sliding door grinds open again, and Cody steps out. You automatically sit back from Kellis, thankful that it’s now too dark for the former Commander to see the redness in your eyes.
“Sorry, am I interrupting something? Your comm is going off, Kellis,” he says, and he sounds unusually stiff as he speaks.
Kellis curses under his breath and dashes back inside. Not wanting Cody to see that you’d been crying, you follow without meeting his eyes. He watches you go, then stays rooted in place while staring at the bench you’d just been sitting on.
After you take a minute in the refresher to wipe down your face with a warm rag, and any evidence of your tears is washed away, you feel okay enough to check in on Cody. He’s still on the balcony, so you move into the kitchen for a glass of water. As you drink, you watch him stand in place, opening and closing his hands around nothing as if having an argument with himself. At the same time, you can overhear Kellis’ end of the comm call.
“Dammit Haunch that’s exactly why I told you not to let him in anymore!” he says, grabbing your full attention. He’s pacing and waving his hand at nothing in particular while he speaks. “Kriff it. I’ll be there in a minute, but we’re going to have a talk about this once the Marshal leaves,” he continues, pinching the bridge of his nose and ending the call with an aggravated groan.
“The Trandoshan guy again?” you ask, rolling your eyes.
“Who else would it be? Ugh. The scug eater started another huge fight, so now the Marshal is there,” he says, moving toward the front door. You follow and allow him to balance himself while stepping into his boots by resting a hand on your shoulder. You both continue talking, so neither of you notice the sound of the balcony door opening and closing.
“Sounds like Haunch is in for it,” you say, sipping at your water.
“Ugh, don’t get me started on them either,” he says. Kellis stomps his foot, seating his boot on properly. He keeps his hand on your shoulder as he unlocks the door.
“Be close to him while I’m out,” he says, his voice low. He pauses for a second, then keeps talking. “Although, uh, maybe not too close, okay?” he says, making you laugh softly.
“No promises,” you say, making him roll his eyes at you before he clears his throat and continues.
“He shouldn’t be contagious anymore, and I think you both need it,” he says. Just before he steps outside, he surprises you with another tight hug.
“And hey, no matter what we find out, you’ll both be okay,” he says. “I can feel it.”
“I really hope so,” you say, matching his quiet tone, and he releases you. “You’d better come back to me in one piece!” you say at a normal volume, waving as he walks out and closes the door. You lock it behind him, smiling to yourself. He was always able to make you feel better.
You take a deep breath, finish drinking your water, and when you turn around, you’re startled to find Cody only a few feet away and staring at you with an odd expression on his face. You adjust the scarf over your own face as he speaks.
“Where’s Kellis going?” he asks, still stiff like he was earlier.
“There was a brawl at the bar thanks to the local asshole, which brought the Marshal in, so he’s going to handle things,” you say, hiding your confusion at his strange demeanor, reasoning that could be a lingering symptom of the fever.
“Maybe Heralt’s tonic just needs more time to work,” you think. You walk past him and rinse your glass out in the sink. When you’re done, you turn back around and find Cody standing in the same place near the door with his back to you. He’s still grasping at nothing with his hands. You cautiously approach him.
“Cody?” you ask, concerned and speaking softly. “Are you feeling okay? Do you need anything?”
He turns to face you, and his anguished expression is exactly the same as it was when you left him so many years ago. This comes as a total shock, and you take a step backward without realizing it.
“How long?” he says, so low you can barely hear him.
“Cody, what-?” you start, but he cuts you off.
“How long?” he repeats, louder this time. “How long were you going to wait to tell me?”
“Tell you…?” you say, trailing off. You see Cody glancing back at the door Kellis just went through. “What, about Kellis?” you say, deeply confused and taking a careful step forward.
“You two were going to keep me around until I’m well enough to kick back out, is that it?” he spits, but his voice cracks.
“Oh my god, Cody, no! No, absolutely not, what are you saying?” you say. You move forward again, but he steps back. The obvious pain in his eyes makes your chest ache.
“I saw you two on the balcony, and just now, before he left. The way he held you, I…,” he says, and it sounds like each word is draining him. “How long have you two been-?” he says, but you cut him off with an incredulous, relieved laugh without realizing it.
“Oh my god, you really thought…?” you say. “Cody, there is nothing going on between me and him, and there never was,” you continue, moving closer. “He’s just a friend, I promise.”
Cody doesn’t step back, but he also doesn’t look convinced. The scarf you’ve been wearing slips down your nose, and an idea strikes you. It’ll be a gamble, but you don’t know how else to get the point across.
You step forward again, slipping your makeshift mask under your chin, and close the gap between you two. The moment your lips touch his, he freezes, but after less than a second, he sighs into you, desperately holding onto you and reminding you again of when you left. Last time, you hadn’t let yourself give in to him. This time though, you do, and when his tongue swipes at your bottom lip, you open up for him, tasting him for the first time in far too long. When the kiss breaks, you both pull back, breathing heavily.
“You promise?” Cody says, allowing a sliver of hope to cross his face.
“Kellis is like my brother, Cody. I swear to you,” you say, linking your hands together behind his neck.
The words are barely out of your mouth before he’s on you again, crushing his lips to yours and sliding his hands down to your hips.
Before the two of you take things further, you remember what Kellis said about getting ‘too close’ and stop yourself from being carried away. You tell Cody this and he rolls his eyes in mock annoyance but agrees that would be rude, so you both take a minute and cool off.
As your heart rate slows, the two of you curl up together on the bench in the living room and hold onto each other as tightly as you can. After a little while, you softly raise your hand and trace a finger along his scar. He hums, content, and you switch to cupping the side of his face. You see a glint in the reflection from outside in his eyes, which reminds you that Kellis mentioned a meteor shower the day before Cody found his way back into your life.
“Hey, Cody?” you say, your voice soft.
“Yes?” he says, sitting up a little.
“Do you remember, back on Coruscant, how you kept talking about seeing the stars with me?” you say, sitting up straight. Cody follows suit, and slips his hand into yours.
“I do. I swear I’ll take you somewhere, just you and I, and we can be alone there together as long as we want,” he says, smiling softly at you.
“Well,” you say, meeting his eyes again and running your thumb across the back of his hand. “We won’t be alone, sort of, but the roof here is a good place to start,” you continue.
Cody thinks for a moment, glances through the glass door at the night sky, then nods at you. You stand and pull him to his feet, then grab one of the many blankets nearby.
Tumblr media
After a few minutes, you’ve both gone up two floors and taken a narrow spiral staircase to the door that leads to the roof. Cody pushes it open and holds it for you.
The roof here is set up similarly to the one at your place; it’s more like a patio or terrace than just the flat top of the building. There’s nobody else here, so you take advantage of this by pushing a few pieces of the outdoor furniture together, haphazardly setting up a cushioned area large enough for the two of you to lie down. You do just that, and Cody spreads the blanket over the both of you, giving you some respite from the chilly night air of the desert.
You curl into his side and rest your head in the hollow of his shoulder. While you settle in and get comfortable, Cody wraps an arm around you, resting one hand on your waist and interlacing his fingers with yours with the other. You sigh, soft and content, relishing in the contact before switching your focus to the inky black sky above you. The countless stars shine like diamonds, and the stillness is occasionally disturbed by the bright streak of a passing meteor. They’re visible once every three to six seconds, and you quickly lose count of how many you’ve seen.
Cody, meanwhile, hasn’t seen a single one, as his attention is entirely devoted to you. The reflected stars make your eyes sparkle in the dim light from the street, the soft smile on your lips brings him peace, and he’s grateful to the Maker that he was able to finally find you. He pulls you closer as he thinks about everything that led him here.
He had thought about you almost constantly from the moment you walked out of his room. He fiercely debated trying to go after you and leave everything else behind at least once every few rotations, but his sense of duty always won out. You had even said it yourself, he was literally made for war, so deserting just wouldn’t be right, no matter how badly he wanted to be with you. It’s the hardest thing he has ever done, and his decision to stay with General Kenobi and the GAR ate away at him until his entire world changed with a single command.
“Execute order sixty-six.”
“Yes, Lord Sidious.”
A soft breeze blows across your faces, but the sudden shiver that runs through Cody has nothing to do with the cool night air.
You notice this and press yourself closer to him, slotting one of your legs between his and tightening your grip on his hand. You’re surprised to find that he’s trembling, so you prop yourself up on your elbow as you softly say his name.
When he looks up at you, you’re taken aback by the look of intense conflict on his face. This obviously concerns you, but you have no idea what to do for him. After a moment, you lie back down, this time on your side and facing him. He turns towards you but is avoiding your eyes. You gently cup the side of his head and make him look at you.
“Cody, what’s wrong?” you say for the second time that night.
He wants to tell you everything; how many orders he regrets carrying out, the way he had come to despise the people he served under, how much he wished he hadn’t let you go, when he had finally reached his breaking point after his last mission, all of it. He just can’t find words coherent enough to say it. His face scrunches and he hides in the crook of your neck, his breathing heavy and his whole body shaking. You wrap your arms around his broad upper back and hold him close, resting your cheek against his forehead and gently tracing your nails around his scalp.
You aren’t sure how much time passes like this, but eventually the tremors stop and Cody is able to breathe normally again. He shifts and softly says your name, moving his hands back to your waist.
“Yes?” you say, quietly.
“I-,” he starts, but again, the words just won’t come out. You notice how he’s struggling and softly press your forehead against his.
“It’s alright, Cody. You don’t need to tell me anything,” you say, and the two of you close your eyes and breathe each other in for a moment.
“Yes” he says, moving back to look you in the eye again. “I… I do, and I should have told you sooner,” he says. You stay quiet and patiently wait for him to speak. He takes a deep breath, and when one of your hands finds his again, he continues.
“I love you, cyar’ika. So much. I’m sorry it took me this long to say it back,” he says. His voice is barely audible, but he could have shouted it from the rooftops and your reaction would have been the same.
It takes a second for his words to process, then your hands fly up to his shoulders and you pull him even closer to you as you roll onto your back. Once he’s lying on top of you, you crash your lips into his, kissing him with all the energy you’ve kept pent up for so long. Your tongues dance, and Cody groans into your mouth, riling you up further. He moves his hands from your waist to your hips, and you break the kiss. There’s just enough time for you to commit the look of passion and longing on his face to memory, and you tell him that you love him too.
No sooner had the words dissipated into the night, he’s on you again, matching and then surpassing your own enthusiasm. You slide one hand from his upper back to his waistband just under his navel and graze your thumb over the elastic, making him groan again, but this time, there’s a feeling of urgency and need that wasn’t there before. You slip your hand down further, touching him everywhere but where he obviously wants it most. As you do this, he moves a hand from your hip to your chest, massaging you through your shirt. You break away with a groan of your own.
Cody tugs at the hem of your shirt, watching your face, and only once you nod at him does he lift it up, exposing your bare chest to him. Your nipples harden in the chilly air, and when he brushes the ball of his thumb against one, your groan morphs into a needy whine. In return, you finally palm his bulge over his borrowed sweatpants, and he hisses through his teeth before gasping out your name. He then moves his other hand from your hip to your groin, cupping your heat as he grinds his palm against you over your own clothes.
Even through the barrier of the fabric, you can tell how warm his hand is and you immediately need to feel it on your skin. You sit up just enough to whip your top off and throw it to the side, not noticing or caring where it landed, and Cody quickly does the same.
He’s kissing you feverishly again, continuing to massage your chest with one hand and tangling his fingers into your hair with the other. He gives it a little tug and you moan into his mouth. He pulls a little harder and as you moan again, the need between your legs becomes so strong that you start to rub your upper thighs together, desperate for some kind of friction. When he notices how you’re squirming underneath him, he breaks the kiss and smirks down at you before dragging his hand from your chest back down against your groin, grinding the heel of his hand against you.
You whine, but before he can smirk at you a second time, you reach up and boldly grab his cock over the sweatpants, the fabric being loose enough for you to get a fair grip on him. Cody groans your name again as you start to jerk him off over his pants, and the sound he makes, a sound you’d almost forgotten, sends a fresh wave of arousal to your core. You take your hands off of him long enough to free yourself from your remaining clothes, and he also strips completely. A thin breeze blows over the two of you and you’re thankful you thought to grab a blanket before coming up here.
You lick a wide, wet stripe along your palm, then return your hand to his bare cock, jerking him off again and moving faster this time. As you do this, Cody tugs at your hair once more, and when you open your mouth to moan, he slides two fingers into it. Knowing what he wants, you obediently suck his fingers, coating them in your saliva. Once he’s satisfied, he takes his hand back, slips it down between your legs, and firmly, but not roughly, starts teasing them around your entrance. You whine and open your legs wider for him, attempting to make him slip inside of you, but this backfires when he suddenly stops touching you entirely.
“Ah ah, use your words,” Cody says, the still-falling meteors flashing in his dark eyes.
“Please Cody, I-,” you start, but he makes a ‘tsk’ sound at you before leaning down to growl into your ear and grab a handful of your ass.
“Please, what?” he purrs, and the dominance in his voice makes you clench around nothing.
“Commander, please!” you cry, desperate to feel his fingers inside you and bypassing the ‘sir’ he expected entirely.
“Not what I meant, but I’ll allow it,” he says, chuckling darkly as he suddenly pushes his two fingers into you as deeply as he can while simultaneously dipping his head to the junction of your body where your shoulder meets your neck, nipping at your skin there and making you shiver.
He begins to pump his fingers in and out of you, working you over as if no time passed at all and finding that perfect spot you can never reach on your own. You start to feel the familiar tightening sensation in your lower belly and grab Cody’s head, yanking him down into another heated, desperate kiss. This compels him to move his fingers faster and with more pressure.
“I know you’re close,” he says, breathing heavily into your ear. “I can feel it. Can you be good and come for me cyar’ika?”
“F-fuck! I want to be good for you, please let me come, Commander,” you say, discarding your pride and begging for him.
Cody hums his approval before moving even faster inside of you and biting down into the skin of your neck as he does, re-establishing his claim over you after so much time apart. The shock of pain and pleasure tips you over the edge, and you clamp down onto his fingers as you come, gasping and chanting his name like a prayer. He’s praising you the entire time, saying how good you’ve been for him and how perfect you are before eventually slipping his hand away and withdrawing his fingers from you. As you lie there, flushed and panting under the stars, he realizes that you’ve never looked more beautiful.
“Good fucking Maker I missed you,” he says before kisses you deeply as your body relaxes.
With a burst of energy you didn’t know you had, you suddenly wrap your arms around his torso and flip the two of you over. Now underneath you, Cody looks up at you with such a loving expression that you shiver again. You lean down and kiss him, then pull back just enough to speak.
“I’ve missed you so fucking much, Cody,” you say, shutting your eyes and pressing your foreheads together. “Can you do something for me?” you ask.
“Anything, just tell me what you want,” Cody says, his voice softening significantly. You smile at him.
“It’s your turn to be good,” you say softly, dragging your hands downwards from his shoulders to his hips. On the way down, you pause to trace your fingertips over his nipples, making his breath hitch. “Can you do that for me?” you ask. Understanding that the roles have been reversed, his voice softens further.
“Yes. I want to be good for you too,” he says, barely audible as his eyes meet yours. You smile at him again and place quick, soft kisses along his jaw before coming to a stop just under his ear.
“There’s my good boy,” you say, your voice low, and the sensation of your breath fanning across his throat makes him whine. You move back to hover over him, give him another kiss to the lips, then say “now hold still,” before slipping downward past his waist.
With little warning, you take his throbbing cock into your mouth and throat, immediately bobbing your head along his shaft, making eye contact and fondling his balls with your hand. Cody whines again and clutches his hands into fists at his side as his toes curl, but he otherwise remains motionless. You hum around him, pleased, and he gasps at the sensation before groaning your name. You take him even deeper and hum again, this time not stopping for at least ten seconds. The moment you do stop, Cody’s hips buck up into you, and you barely suppress your gag reflex. You sit back, his cock slipping out of your mouth with a soft pop, and he whines.
“Please, it’s been so long, I can't-,” he says, panting, but you hold up a hand and stop him. You move yourself back upwards and hold a finger to his lips.
“You said you’ll be good for me, didn’t you?” you ask, pouting, and Cody whines again, the sound heightening your arousal to the point that your sex aches for him.
“Y-yes, I did,” he says, desperation in his voice.
“Then behave,” you say before you kiss him. His hands automatically reach for you, but he stops himself, dropping them back at his sides. You kiss him again.
“Yes cyare, I’ll be your good boy,” he murmurs, and you all but throb at the submission in his eyes. With that, you return to your position below his waist. You take his cock into one hand, and tap at his hip with the other.
“Eyes on me, soldier,” you say. Cody whimpers in response and it’s the most erotic thing you’ve ever experienced, making you shiver. You softly suckle at the head of his cock, moving the tip of your tongue against the small slit there and lapping up the sticky sweetness of his precum. He makes a low, throaty sound, and his hand twitches, but he’s otherwise motionless. You look up at him, satisfied.
“Good job baby, just like that,” you say, and he whines again.
“Cyare, please,” he says, and you take pity on him.
After a deep breath, you ignore the growing ache between your legs, then slowly take his cock back into your mouth. Keeping your breath steady, you suppress your gag reflex and take him further into your throat. The entire time, you maintain eye contact, ensuring that his attention is focused solely upon you. His gaze doesn’t waver. You hum again, and as you do, you move down along his cock far enough for your nose to press against his pelvis. Continuing to watch him, you begin to bob your head along his length, swallowing around him whenever you reach the base.
Cody curses loudly and clenches his hands into fists, but he obediently stays still, his eyes locked on yours. You gradually pick up speed, and just when you find a consistent pace, his concentration breaks and his hips buck, forcing himself as deep into your throat as he can go while his hands simultaneously fly to the sides of your head and grip you in an attempt to keep you from moving.
You softly slap at his hip with your hand, and he immediately releases you. You wipe drool off of your chin and cough once before crawling back up to his face.
“I-I’m sorry. I tried, I really did,” he says meekly. You gently shush him.
“I know baby, it’s okay. You did better than I expected, especially after so long,” you say softly, dragging your finger along his throat, which makes him swallow loudly. He looks expectantly up at you, his pupils dilated and his breathing heavy. You hold your hand over his chest and feel his heart pound just beneath your palm.
“Cyar’ika I am begging you, I can’t hold back any more,” he says. You make a sympathetic ‘aww’ sound, lean forward, and whisper into his ear.
“I can’t hold back anymore either,” you say, and Cody growls, sitting up to kiss you deeply and take a firm hold of your hips. You allow this, then push him down onto his back again.
You move to straddle him, then grip his cock before slowly, torturously, sinking down and essentially spearing yourself with it. The moment he enters you, the both of you make such a loud sound of relief that it echoes around you. You’re vaguely aware that someone probably heard that, but you’re too far gone to give a damn.
It really has been too long, you think, inhaling sharply as you stretch around him. Cody gives you a moment to adjust to his size, and once you meet his eyes and nod at him, he returns his hands to your hips and starts to thrust upward into you. His cock hits you so deeply that you gasp and shiver at the feeling before he quickly finds a rhythm, fucking up into you at a desperate and relentless pace. You find yourself on the edge far too soon, so you bend at the waist and kiss him before speaking.
“I’m too close already, switch with me,” you say. With a glint in his eye, Cody tightens his grip on your hips enough to bruise and rolls the two of you back over, still pounding into you the entire time. You take advantage of this new position and wrap your arms around his shoulders, keeping his chest tight against yours, while also crossing your ankles together at his hips, driving him even deeper into you.
He kisses you and l his desperate pace gradually slows into something more sensual, and he’s focusing more on being as close to you as possible than he is bringing either of you to an orgasm. After another kiss he rests his forehead against yours, closing his eyes and breathing you in while you do the same. His right hand finds your left and he interlaces your fingers before giving your hand a gentle squeeze. Meanwhile, his free hand has moved to the nape of your neck, holding you steady.
Your free hand holds the scarred side of Cody’s face. He sighs and leans into your touch before turning his head to kiss your palm. The gentle intimacy of it all makes you shiver again, then you softly speak.
“I love you so much Cody. I never should have left you, it was selfish and I’m so sorry,” you say, a single tear rolling down your cheek.
“Oh cyar’ika,” he says, brushing the tear away with his thumb. “I forgive you, but that doesn’t matter to me anymore; I finally have you back,” he says, kissing you softly.
You hold him even closer and start to rock your hips against him in time with his thrusts. He correctly interprets this as his cue to pick up speed again, and he drives himself so hard and so deep into you that your lower back tingles and your eyes roll into your head.
He keeps his hold on your hand and kisses you, the both of you greedily swallowing up each other's sighs and moans as your tongues slide over one another. After a particularly hard thrust, you break the kiss.
“Ah, C-Cody!” you cry out.
“Fuck,” he pants, sweat beading on his forehead from the exertion. “You’re so beautiful like this,” he continues, and you whine at his praise. “I want to have you like this for the rest of my life,” he says, and your heart swells. You look into his dark eyes, and all your thoughts about leaving him again evaporate.
“Then take me,” you say, whispering into his ear, making him groan.
“Cum with me first, cyar’ika,” he says before pressing his lips to yours again.
The moment he does, the tension that has been building in your gut snaps and your vision goes white as you experience the most intense orgasm of your life. Cody’s legs lock and you feel his cock twitch deep inside you as he fills you with his seed. He presses his forehead against yours as you both ride out the aftershock and gasp for air. He slips his softening cock back out of you and you whine at the empty feeling; you already want him again.
You and Cody lie there on the roof, clinging to each other and basking in the afterglow long enough for the last of the meteor shower to pass. It’s blissfully silent, save for an occasional sound of contentment from either of you. You yawn widely and sit up.
“Kellis is probably back by now,” you say, and your voice is slightly hoarse from the past hour of activity. Cody grunts in agreement, then also sits up. He wraps his arms around your waist from behind, his chest warm against your back, and softly kisses your cheek.
“I’ve been thinking about that from the moment I saw your face,” he says, making heat spread across your cheeks. He chuckles at you. “Come on, let’s get dressed and head back downstairs before he sends a search party,” he says, kissing your cheek again before turning away.
You both find your pants easily enough, but as Cody pulls his borrowed shirt back on, you look around, your top half wrapped in the blanket, unable to locate yours. You hear someone loudly clear their throat and are startled so badly that you jump before whirling around toward the source of the sound. Kellis is standing in the open doorway to the roof, leaning against the frame with a smirk before he tosses something at you; your missing shirt. Apparently you had launched it off of the roof in your haste earlier. Cody laughs softly as you turn away from Kellis and put it back on, cheeks blazing.
With everyone now dressed, Kellis shakes his head incredulously at you and Cody before turning around and leading the way back to his apartment unit. Once you’re able to walk side by side, you and Cody clasp your hands together, occasionally stealing quick glances at each other with a sheepish smile.

To your relief, nobody says a word about what happened up on the roof, aside from Kellis telling you that you both sounded like fighting tookas as he locked up the bar. Cody laughs, loudly this time, before going into the refresher.
Once the door latches closed, Kellis turns to say something to you, and you can tell from his expression what that something probably is.
“You got a call,” you say. He nods at you, and you can’t help but stare at him, an anxious twist knotting up your guts as you wait for him to speak.
“I didn’t get any names,” he says.
“Which is good,” you say softly, and he nods at you.
“Right. So, no names, but I did get a description of the guy who seems to be leading all of it. A gen one clone with very short blond hair,” he says.
Your heart immediately sinks down to your feet.
Before either of you can say anything else, Cody returns from the refresher. He quickly notices the tense silence and pained look on your face, and he knows exactly what it means.
“You heard back,” he says. Kellis sighs.
“I did,” he says. “Do you want to know?” he asks.
Cody doesn’t respond right away, watching you instead.
“I listened in that night,” you softly admit. “I’m sorry.” Cody says nothing.
“I already told them,” Kellis says. The air of the room practically vibrates with tension.
“It is Rex, isn’t it?” Cody asks, speaking directly to you. You’re unable to speak, and so you merely nod, your eyes shining with tears.
He doesn’t say anything. Nobody does for a good minute or so. Eventually, Cody turns and goes outside onto the balcony, almost robotic in his movements, and shuts the door behind him. Kellis glances over at you to find you crying with a hand pressed over your mouth to muffle the sound of your cries. He gingerly holds his hand to your upper back, and you don’t shake him off.
“I think I know what you decided earlier,” he says softly. “Do you want me to talk to him?” You shake your head and take in a stuttering breath.
“Maybe you should go back home then,” he says. “It’ll give the both of you room to think.” he continues. You sigh heavily, but nod in agreement. He softly pats your back before retreating to the kitchen and fishing out the Spotchka bottle. He raises it at you, but you shake your head.
You take a moment to gather your scattered belongings, and just after you open the front door to leave, the sliding glass door opens and Cody returns inside. Kellis glances between the two of you and takes Cody’s place on the balcony, giving you both some space.
Standing in the open doorway, the same bag slung over your shoulder, and Cody frozen in place, staring at you, reminds you so vividly of when you left him years before that you become nauseous. You fight to ignore it, trying to will yourself into speaking, to say something to Cody, anything, but the words just won’t come. He also seems unable to speak.
After a few seconds, you turn away and step through the front door, leaving Cody motionless, hurt, and confused behind you. The door slides shut again before you can take a last glance at him.

"I have witnessed the ineffable beauty of Truth in this world, and known the uncanny horror that follows". - King Relivine of Malidraug
