Sad epiphany:

Given the identity of the “mastermind” of the plot to make MidWilshire suffer (the elder abuse guy that Jackson arrested as a trainee in Season 1), I think Aaron being shot was a case of mistaken identity.

The assailants were likely looking to shoot/kill JACKSON (young black cop) for making the arrest in the first place - the catalyst for everything that happened after that to the man in jail. Not Aaron - who had the serious misfortune to be a young black cop.

RUDE.

One of my friends keeps referring to Nines as Connor and it throws me for a loop every time he does it. I can usually tell when he's talking about Nines, but there's still that second of confusion and horror when he makes a joke about reed900 but says "Connor" instead no hate to Convin/reed800 shippers that's simply not my cup of tea. I would love to hear your brain noodlins' about West Coast Outcasts!

I actually have a bit of this one written! Not a lot, because I haven't had time to really work on it with my other stuff currently languishing. But I do plan on posting it at some point, I swear!

Anyways, it's a multichap, full-length version of my West Coast Outcasts AU, in which Stan tells Ford about the broken experiment in time for him to fix it, and Ford winds up at West Coast Tech. While there, surrounded by rich, snobby elites, he befriends just about the only other person attending the school on scholarship like him: Angie McGucket. And when they meet she's in her "punk phase" that she goes through when she first starts college, when she dyes and cuts her hair and wears a leather jacket and goes by her middle name of Quinn.

Some highlights of Ford and Angie's friendship adventures:

Ford mistakes Angie's friendship moments for her flirting with him and then Angie's like "what NO"

Ford gives Angie some boxing lessons bc while he's not good at it, he recalls the basics well enough to teach her

Angie invites Ford to the farm during holiday breaks and Ford gets to experience farm life and get grilled by her family as to whether they are dating

Ford ropes Angie into playing DD&MD with him

Angie drinks coffee once and sets something on fire as a result

They both develop crushes on the other's brother

(Which brother of Angie's does Ford get a crush on? Well, this is an AU where Angie and Lute are twins, so it would be quite poetic if they got a crush on the other's twin brother specifically.)

Ford and Angie eventually become close enough to share their insecurities and bond over some similarities

It's very wholesome and sweet and tbh the reason why I'm planning on turning it into a multichap is because it's my wonderful roommate @darfichihrenhundstreicheln's favorite of my many AUs.

Oh, and one more fun thing about it: I plan on titling every chapter in the same format as the show Community titled its episodes. Making the chapter titles sound like the name of a college course.
