Quick question to the Are You Alice? fandom- Okay, remember aaaall the way back in 2010? When AYA? was juuust about getting popular? I remember some of the Vocal Character songs were put on YouTube- The two that stuck around the longest were LIDDELL, White Rabbit's song, and Smile a Sweet Smile, Cheshire's song. Does anybody know if, by any chance, the songs managed to survive the YouTube purge? I know for a fact they existed and were put on YouTube because I actually had them downloaded on my phone less than 3 years ago until the poor thing died on me, but now I can barely find any traces of them- which is a god damn pitty because Smile a Sweet Smile was absolutely beautiful.

My mother miscarried three times. The first two times I was young enough that I barely knew what was happening, and I really only have one clear memory of that time. The third time, though, I was twelve. I've always wanted to be an older brother, and I hate that the siblings I could have had were taken from me.

What I hate the most is how quiet we are. We don't talk about the kids that should have been. Miscarriage is incredibly common, but no one discusses it openly. There is mourning when a wanted pregnancy fails.

I haven't thought much about that time in recent years. It hurts and I don't like the memories I do have of my mother's final miscarriage. But reading chapter 19 of the manga Are You Alice? made me feel seen. It jumped from a fun retelling of a classic story I enjoy to something deeper, more poignant.

Children who weren't able to be born never have their existences acknowledge by anyone, do they?

I think it's time we change that.
