So I guess asgore is desperate to find clover or he doesn't know that clover is there, because there is an secret ending in the game that if you decide to kill Ceroba, clover and martlet go to meet asgore and he's shock to see clover there
That's correct! During Clover's time growing up in the Underground, Asgore and by extension the Royal Guard were not aware of the fact that another human child was secretly growing up in the Dunes. There were rumors of a human that had fallen down and simply disappeared since their soul was never captured, but Asgore had no way of knowing these rumors had any actual truth behind them.
Once the Royal Guard's investigation into these rumors turned up nothing (given that Clover spent most of their time in the Dunes area where the Royal Guard doesn't have easy access to) Asgore simply gave up hope and resumed waiting around in his castle, waiting for another human to enter the Underground.
This of course, doesn't mean Clover was entirely off the hook. Even as they aged, they still had to remain very vigilant and careful of where they went in the Underground and who they revealed themselves to, given that an unsavory Monster distrustful of humans could still very well report them to the king...

obviously susie’s bigger than kris and her holding them would feel suffocating, but i think she’s an exception to what kris would normally find uncomfortable. susie’s expressions of affection are what make her, herself, really. and i think kris finds a lot of comfort in what makes susie who she is. so they’d be okay with that, i think

undertale slice of life au where everyone lives on the surface and always has
asgore is the owner of a theme park but he's still terrible at naming things so you get wonderful and seemingly contradictory area names like "water land" but it actually has the best water rides you've been on in your life

While I wasn’t around for the initial popularity of Undertale and therefore don’t have much of a frame of reference for fandom activity/opinion/discourse (because honestly there was SO much, too much to reasonably keep track of) I’ve seen people compare Spade to Asgore and honestly it’s an interesting topic of discussion.
As I said, idk how people felt or still feel (in a more general sense) about Asgore’s actions in UT but I think while the comparison is worth making they aren’t quite the same.
Both probably genuinely feel they are doing the right thing or are at least justified in their horrible actions for the good of the bigger picture, however the true test for me if whether or not they were a bad person or just a ‘good person doing shitty things for the right reasons’ is what they do following their respective defeats.
Asgore basically begs you to finish him because he knows he’ll never truly make up for his crimes. It’s not really an excuse but at least he seems aware that what he’s done he can’t be forgiven for, even if you decide to spare him in the end. He’s apologetic, and again, though this doesn’t give him the right to do what he did, he accepts that whatever ultimately comes next is the fate he deserves.
Spade, similarly appears apologetic at first, and had he not already pulled that stunt with Lancer I might have actually believed he was just misguided and had chosen to stop fighting and make peace because he realized the futility of it. However, he does little to actually acknowledge that what he’s done was wrong, instead primarily diverting attention away altogether with promises he never intended to keep. Once everyone’s guard is down, he attacks again and almost wins, and while you could argue that he was still under the fountain’s influence at that point the fact remains that most everything he does is calculated to the decimal.
Also while not quite a measure of character I think it’s interesting that one considers death a quiet mercy and the other aggrandizes its implicit martyrdom

Handplates gaster except asgore finds papyrus and sans in the lab, fights gaster
he then frees sans and papyrus
that would have been how it went if he was in character instead of being completely nerfed
