“I’m sorry for getting you in trouble.”

You laid your hand on Whitney’s arm as he stared into the bathroom mirror. For once, it was just the two of you.

He rolled his eyes. “Idiot, I get in trouble all the time. It doesn’t matter.”

“Still,” you shifted your weight uncomfortably. You weren’t really sure why you were comforting him, when you were the one who was just assaulted. “You were just trying to defend me. It was…noble of you.”

“Noble?” Whitney snorted. “Please. I’m just protecting my property.”

Your hand subconsciously went to your shoulder where underneath your uniform Whitney’s toy was tattooed.

You weren't entirely sure where you stood with Whitney most of the time. He was always surrounded by his friends, doing things like stealing your clothes or making you flash random passersby.

And yet, he had kissed you and told you that you were his girlfriend now, and on the rare occasions you were alone like this, he could be...surprisingly tender.

"Yeah, well. Thanks anyway," you offered him a warm smile, reaching up to tuck a lock of hair behind his ear.

"If you weren't such a slut, you wouldn't even get into these situations, you know," Whitney shook his head, but he looked into your eyes with a hint of a smile on his lips.

"You're the one who banned me from wearing underwear," you retorted, folding your arms. "And from going into the girls bathroom."

"And you've been such an obedient little slut," Whitney reached out to trace his finger along your jawline, sending shivers up your spine. As quickly as he had reached out, though, he pulled his hand back, lighting a cigarette.

"You should go back to class. You care about that kinda shit," he turned away and waved you off.

You turned to leave, but something in you made you look back. Leaning in, you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek and mumbled "love you."

You saw his face flush before he ducked his head to hide from you as you scurried away.

"You better be out front when school lets out," Whitney called after you. "You still owe me a proper thanks!"

You couldn't help but smile as you headed to your classroom.

Touka takes a moment to look more closely at what Mito is pointing at and then replies, dead serious, “Flying pigs, definitely.”

She only manages to maintain her serious face for a few seconds before bursting into manic cackling, accompanied by Mito’s far more dignified giggles, which she hides behind her sleeve.

When Touka had decided it was nigh time to get to know Mito on some private one-on-one time before Mito married into the family, and she brought Mito to Hashirama’s secret garden of all places to show her Hashirama’s favorite psychedelic mushrooms—because she’s a bit of an asshole like that—she hadn’t expected Mito to just raise an eyebrow challengingly and ask, “Don’t you have something more refined, say, cannabis instead?” while pulling out a kiseru from her sleeve as if it were a matter of course.

Touka could only gasp in shock and delight in equal measure when she recognized the kiseru and breathed, “Is that Uchiha Madara’s kiseru?!” and almost fell over laughing when Mito flashed her a triumphal grin in response and explained, “I tried to play nice with him for Hashirama’s sake, to no avail, until Hashirama told me that the best language Madara speaks is the language of fists—so I decided if he wants his kiseru back, he can come and fight me for it.”

Looking at Mito now, still sitting so regally in seiza in the middle of Hashirama’s experimental garden, holding the stolen kiseru as expertly and elegantly as if she were smoking regular tobacco and not the possibly most potent cannabis in all of the five elemental nations, Touka can’t help but think Mito fits right into this madhouse of a family.

revenge of the island where everything’s the same except scott chooses to vote out zoey instead of mike to gain the upper hand or smth 

the catch is that previously-dormant-since-leaving-juvie mal ends up fronting after, similar to how zoey invoked commando zoey, bc he’s the Protector of the system--or maybe he and mike end up co-hosting??? and it turns into a push-pull thing between them and scott bc mike and scott are already dealing with their issues; meanwhile mal’s as morally gray as the next person and although he’s royally ticked off at scott for messing with mike and threatening the system, he also can’t help but be impressed at how utterly slippery scott is--and ofc tries to exploit that slipperiness and use it against scott. while scott’s sorta confused bc ‘okay this guy isn’t svetlana or chester or manitoba or vito, so who is he??’ but also he’s like ‘wow a worthy opponent?? hell yeah!’ and there’s def some underlying tension reaching its peak that gets cut off when scott gets eliminated following canon events (so mike gets eliminated like zoey was btw) bc duh they’re both trying to beat each other for (mostly) different reasons and with questionable morales within a show where everyone’s pitted against each other, ofc there’s gonna be a tension plus mal kinda doesn’t like scott for what he did lmao (v understandable and valid)

and then they meet again in all-stars and that tension rekindles...among other things :)

somewhere along the way (maybe in a snippet of a scene before scott’s elimination or during all-stars or in the span of time between their eliminations and roti’s finale) scott does the equivalent of apologizing for threatening the system, mainly bc mal would have thrown him without ado straight into fang’s jaws if he didn’t own up to it, but also after being in mal’s (and mike’s) presence for as long as he was, scott genuinely starts to feel bad--not for kicking out all those ppl prior, including zoey, but of how he went abt hurting mike and the rest of the system--mal was just that push he needed to own up to his misdeed. anyway after that, mal doesn’t want to forgive or see scott in a more ‘positive’ light after that happens, but this time mike, the more forgiving one out of them all, is the one being the push to get the alters to try to forgive scott, and after that, as they say, it’s history :D

no but, the urge to write this as a oneshot-type fic set during revenge of the island that acts as a “prologue” for the next multichaptered fic set during all-stars-

it’d give an excuse to portray scott as the villain he deserves to be in all-stars while also warring with his emotions bc I can bet that homeboy has never had a crush, fell in love, or dated anyone before. (plus hopefully I can write mike’s system (namely mal) in a better way than fresh did, and I can touch upon his past--like how he ended up in juvie--and his relations with other characters, like duncan and zoey and cam.)
