No going back now. Went back to the green hell of the Belarus/Poland border to support my crew tryna keep refugees alive on their journey w medical needs, food, clothing, phone access, cigarettes, asylum papers, whatever. To avoid detection we navigate in total darkness but sometimes at night we'll risk a red light like a campfire that gives no heat. I'll try to get stories when/how I can around the glow while the medics tend to razor wire injuries or dog bites or whatever wounds these rival states have inflicted. Borders are death, I don't trust myself with a proper description but they are bad. fuck them and fuck the cowards maintaining them.

Belarus (a client state of Russia) has violated the airspace of Poland (a NATO member).
Poland will send additional troops and military hardware to its eastern border after two Belarusian helicopters reportedly crossed into the NATO country's airspace Tuesday. "There was a violation of Polish airspace by two Belarusian helicopters that were training near the border," the Polish Defense Ministry said in a statement. Belarus dismissed the alleged violation as, "far-fetched." "Accusations of a violation of the Polish border by Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces are far-fetched and made by the Polish military and political leadership to justify the build-up of forces and means at the Belarusian border," Minsk said. Poland had inititially denied the incursion but then later said a "violation took place in the Bialowieza area at a very low altitude, hampering detection by radar systems." Minsk had informed Warsaw it intended to conduct training exercises in the area prior to the incident. Some Polish residents in the area had reported sighting Belarus helicopters overhead earlier in the day and posted photos and videos thereof on social media. Poland said NATO has been informed of the incursion.
If this is intentional, it's doubtful that it could have happened without Russia's approval.
Russia is desperate and may be hoping to distract NATO from Ukraine. Of course Putin has increasingly been a master of miscalculation. Today is Day 525 of his 3-day "special operation" in Ukraine.

In Poland there are the last remaining wild European bison are in Białowieża Forest.
Have you ever taken photos of this forest?
I love your photos!
Thank you
I have never been to Białowieża before. For now, I am visiting the regions of Kashubia and Tuchola Forest.
And all my photos come from these areas. If I visit the region of Białowieża, I will definitely post photos on my blog. With a copy of the Puszcza Białowieska , Białowieża.
Thank you

Białowieski Park Narodowy / Bialowieza National Park by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Via Flickr: Białowieski Park Narodowy. Bialowieza National Park. Białowieża Forest is the last primary compact forest complex. It is one of the most important natural treasures not only in Poland, but also in Europe. Therefore, in 1979 Białowieża Forest was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Fot. Two bison were killed by the military in Poland. This comes after one month ago a bison was killed by a speeding military truck driver in broad daylight. The Białowieża region has seen increased military presence since Poland had began building a 190 km anti-refugee Wall on the Polish-Belarusian border. Refugees are routinely being beaten, threatened with Border Police dogs, and have their things, including medications and clothes taked away from them, then pushed across the border to Belarus where the same thing happens.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the population of European bison has more than tripled in the last 20 years, from around 1,800 in 2003 to over 6,200 in 2019. There are 47 free-ranging herds in Europe, mainly in Poland, Belarus and Russia.
That led the IUCN in 2021 to upgrade the European bison from “vulnerable” to “near threatened” – which means it is no longer at risk of global extinction – on its Red List of Threatened Species.

Simona Kossak (1943-2007) Polish biologist, ecologist, author, PhD in forestry, and uncompromising conservation activist
They called her a witch because she chatted with animals and owned a crow, who stole gold and attacked bicycle riders.
She spent more than 30 years in a wooden hut in Poland's Białowieża Forest, without electricity or access to running water. A lynx slept in her bed, and a tamed boar lived under the same roof with her. She was a scientist, ecologist, and the author of award-winning films, as well as radio broadcasts. She was also an activist who fought for the protection of Europe’s oldest forest. Simona believed that one ought to live simply, and close to nature. Among animals, she found that which she never found with humans.

😅 Lukashenko willing to share the wood with Europe in the upcoming energy crisis. All out of concern so Dudu and Morawiecki won't freeze.
