So I have a bunch of Trumpers living down the street from me and their flag game has been relentless. One day after the election results were confirmed in 2020, I came home and told my son they’d taken down their Trump 2020 flag. “Yesssss!” he celebrated, until I added the next vital part: that they’d put up a Trump 2024 flag.

Since then they’ve cycled through a bunch of MAGA flags, most recently an Impeach Biden flag, and honestly, other than it being an eyesore and a constant proverbial pea under the mattress as I drive past, I don’t care. Lets me know where the rot is, right?

But today. TODAY. Today, we turn onto our street and I think I must have fucking misread what I was seeing, so I googled what I thought I’d read, and sure enough…actually, I’m not going to post a picture. It fucking reads, “Joe and the Hoe Gotta Go” and I am just. SO. ANGRY. So every day I have to live with this misogynistic trash in my neighborhood? I hated the other signs but this feels so personal somehow. My blood is boiling and I know there’s nowhere to turn about it because despite northern AZ being generally liberal, my little town is overwhelmingly populated with conservative Phoenicians and you have to attest you “aren’t oversensitive” and won’t complain about “jokes” to even join the FB page. So griping that this flag is gross as fuck and lowering my quality of life is only going to garner eyerolls from the township.

I would never actually go out in the night and destroy someone’s property but this is the closest I’ve ever come to really thinking about it. 😡
