CS Lewis: And now for Susan Pevensie, I think I’ll include a little message about how being overly concerned with unimportant things like beauty, popularity, a desire to grow up too fast, etc can hinder ones spiritual growth, and sometimes even cause them to leave their faith entirely because this is reflective of my own spiritual journey. But not all is lost for her and someday she may-
Woke fans: Oh my gosh! MISOGYNY!!?!??!?!?
JK Rowling: Clearly Susan’s being punished for being a woman. Since, as we all know, you should take spiritual allegories at their most basic meaning and never think any deeper.
Neil Gaiman: Oh yeah? WELL I’LL WRITE BIZARRE PSEUDO SATANIC HORROR PORN OF YOUR CHRIST ANALOGUE! THAT’LL SHOW YOU WE’RE NOT DEPRAVED! AHAHAHAHHAHA!
CS Lewis: ... Why do I even try with you people?

In your life, you meet people. Some you never think about again. Some, you wonder what happened to them. There are some that you wonder if they ever think about you. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. But you do.

I think every fantasy should have a deep magic that defines right from wrong.
Especially if that fantasy has paladins fighting on the side of Good, or a prophesized battle between Good and Evil, or an ultimate Big Bad Evil Guy to defeat.
It's a lot harder to get involved in Good/Evil conflicts when the sides aren't defined. What does "the Good side" even mean, when "good" is just what our character's individual hearts tell them?
And I'd be (more or less) accepting of a fantasy world that had different morals than my world. That'd just be part of the fantasy.
If your story is about Good and Evil, you need to be able to answer "what is Good, what is Evil?", it's what your story rests on.
( And if it's not about a Good/Evil conflict, it would ad some nice spice :3 )

Rating: Not Cute!
If your Napoleon is literally in Hell and is spending all his day muttering to himself, please do the only sensible thing and attack him. Clearly a big enclosure isn’t the issue here, and Hell is other people so he can have some company, the only way to break him out of the funk is to begin a fight.
…or maybe introduce him to a certain bus driver…

My obsession with designing characters specifically for voyage of the dawn treader is definitely because of my deep history of beef with the 2010 movie.
Anyone who knew me in middle school was in danger of ranting about that movie. (Wtf was the green mist also awkward writing in general. Visually the movie looked alright though. And will poulter killed it.)
The last time I rewatched with my sister we just sat there discussing everything we would do better. Despite not being writers. (Also the Drinian in that movie is SO opposite on how I ever pictured him.)
Also I feel like the best way to adapt that book in particular is a series.
I feel like the director of that movie really just didn’t care that much about the source material. In contrast to like Andrew adamson, those two movies are HIS Narnia in the best way. Like his version.
(Also why I actually am so excited to see Greta gerwigs take. Give this series to people with imaginations and can give us their version! The way c.s. Lewis writes invites the reader to fill in the gaps.)

C.S Lewis: Now for Calormene, I think I’ll draw inspiration from a few different sources from Middle Eastern history. But mainly from ancient cultures that practiced things like slavery. The religion I’ll base off old pagan beliefs from the time of the Bible, wherein bestial gods were worshiped and human sacrifice was still practiced. After all Tash will be my analogue for the Dev-
Woke fans: Oh my gosh! ISLAMOPHOBIA!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!? This violent cult reminds me of Islam! Which means Lewis hated Muslims!!!!
C.S Lewis: Did you miss the part where I gave Tash a bird head?

Fifth round, fifth fight
Quote number 157 :
And he did not want to be loved as a second choice, as a surrender. He had spent his whole life not being loved at all, and he had thought being loved enough would satisfy him. It would not. He did not want to be loved enough. He wanted to be loved overwhelmingly. (...) He had never been chosen, so he had never had a chance to know this about himself before now: he wanted to be chosen first.
