Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
if you wanna listen to naddpod you should know this about the hosts: brian murphy is a straightman to his inner most core and he's the funniest person alive, these things exist simultaneously and would not exist without the other. emily axford is clinically insane to a point where it's easier to not try to follow her logic when she says things. jake hurwitz is a certified cool guy but he's the biggest loser in a room of nerds playing dungeons and dragons. caldwell tanner can only be described as exactly what a 1930's cartoon describes as a rascal. three of them are a throuple and the fourth is their boss.
everything about Caldwell Tanner's presence on naddpod makes you forget he is a man with an incredibly chiseled chin and jawline. his main campaign characters are 1) a teenage halfling boyscout with braces 2) a tired and scrawny elf who likes licking mysterious substances and 3) a frog. he's silly and does dubious intro rhymes (turdis) and can sing in a haunting boy voice and then every time i see a picture of this guy i'm like. damn. that's a clark kent bone structure.
The new season of Game Changer looks great. Caldwell Tanner in all his glory is there. Nathan Yaffe-Drawfee too. (I'm so glad that despite going independent there's still Drawfee representation on Dropout.) Also Jacob Wysocki's bit was incredible. That's acting! Plus more ProZD. (I saw him in the Blackberry movie. He was great.) And Brian David Gilbert. Never gonna say no to more BDG. Glad to see Jess Ross, Vic Michaelis and Ify Nwadiwe too.
Between Fantasy High Junior Year, Very Important People and Game Changer, next year is shaping up to be another great year on Dropout.
“A bunch of cowards and the bravest little girl in the world.” - Neverafter, Ep. 3, about Ylfa Snorgelsson
“The world should have protected you, but you have been asked to protect it. What an honor. What an injustice." - NADDPOD, Ep, 97, about Beverley Toegold V
Something something about children being forced to grow up faster than they deserved because the powerful people around them aren’t doing enough. Gonna go cry thanks.
Emily: I have a stupid question, because I don't really eat cereal except for Fruity Pebbles on Christmas. Uh--
[Everyone laughs.]
Murph: Moving on.
Jake: So you do love the Flintstones!
Caldwell: Right! Yeah, as god intended.
Murph: Moving on.
Emily: (shocked) What? Are they Flintstones related???
Murph: Of course!
Caldwell: (yelling) What?!
Jake: (yelling) What?!
Caldwell: Emily!! (laughs)
Jake: No! No!
Murph: Emily, they're on the-- they're on the box. That you have. In our home.
Emily: (yelling over him) I only eat them once a year! I-- (laughing) eat them once a year!
Caldwell: (laughing) what are you…
Jake: Impossible. How did you not know that?!
Murph: And the Flintstones are on it!
Emily: (still yelling) I don't fucking make--
Murph: (yelling) Surely-- surely--
Caldwell: (laughing) It… what do you mean?!
Emily: --what's on my cereal box!
Murph: Surely you've watched television once! In the past 40 years!
Emily: Yes, I have! (laughing) I have.
Caldwell: Wha-- do you like pour the box and then instantly put it away? Are you not looking at the box while you're pouring it?
Murph: They're all-- Fred and Barney are all over that shit.
Caldwell: They're all over it.
Emily: (calmly) I have a very… (laughs)
Murph: They're Pebbles. Flintstones.
Emily: My… my attention is precious to me and I gift it only to the things that deserve it. (laughs)
Caldwell: He named the cereal after his daughter, don't you understand?
[Emily and Jake laugh.]
Emily: Well, so I didn't know that context! So that went unnoticed by me.
[Caldwell sighs.]
Murph: Moving on.
Jake: Insane.
Emily: Anyways, um, do they still-- so since I only really eat that like once a year, do cereal, like-- is cereal still going nuts with mascots?
TONIGHT! A new episode of Game Changer launches on Dropout at 7pm ET / 4pm PT! Featuring host @samreich, and players @blogwell, @kianamaiart, and @nyaffe!
I don't think you understand how much Beverly kissing the fae boy means to me. It's one of the most human character flaws Caldwell gave Beverly and I am kissing him on the mouth about it (no pun intended). The fact that he was in a relationship with Erlin and knew it was wrong, but still caved and kissed him... it's so good. When I was 15 years old in my first queer relationship that was something real, that was my best friend, and I valued nothing more than her and I would've also kissed that boy. I would've also known it was wrong and felt so much guilt and couldn't have stopped myself. I never got that opportunity and I am very grateful for that because I could never have imagined hurting her in that way, but when you're 15 (and maybe when you're queer, when you're seen by someone who's also not the ideal of society) all you want is to be loved. If somebody liked me like that, if somebody had shown me that interest, if somebody who was just like me had tried to kiss me. Yeah, I would've caved. I would've felt shit about it. I wouldn't have forgiven myself. I would've done it.
Today I would never cheat on a partner of mine given neither opportunity or wish. In no circumstance. But today I'm not 15 anymore. Today I just thank Caldwell for Beverly who showed something I didn't know I had been feeling at that time and showed that it did not make you a bad person. It made you 15.
