everything Aaron is saying to Chas is 100% spot on. yeah she only 'had an affair' but that affair resulted in Liv's death, Paddy's breakdown and suicide attempt, Kyle killing Al and Cain going to prison for it. Vinnie lost his wife and Aaron is off the rails. She destroyed the lives of half of her family and she is still playing the victim and acting like she did nothing worse than have a drunken fumble in a club toilet.
i think a lot of people are unhappy that Aaron has been “forced” to forgive Chas. For me, this does feel a little forced, but more in a “we need to get past something stupid from a previous storyline so its gonna be a little awkward.”
My thoughts went on pretty long so here’s a cut. This is since 2/2/24.
I love Aaron and Chas, and his reaction to a first run totally makes sense for where he is at. Then to have the scene in the flat where he seems confused at first at how they are meant to be and Chas confirms they can act normal, I think that made sense for them both.
Yes, what Chas did was awful. But Aaron has done plenty. There’s also the fact that anyone can see that Aaron’s behaviour recently hasn’t been “I’m just rightfully angry” but rather “self-destructively pushing people away.” They know his behaviour isn’t healthy for him, so they aren’t pushing him to forgive Chas because what she did isn’t that bad. They want him to let go of what is driving him down a dark path.
Unfortunately, Cain is unsurprisingly going about everything the wrong way. Aaron is not a kid to be sorted anymore. Either ignore him and wait until he sorts himself out, or treat him properly and show him you still care. All this nonsense is just pushing him further. But… that’s still in character for Cain.
All in all things have been… weird recently, character-wise. Lydia, Sam, Jimmy, David, all acting off. I think we might be seeing the other side? Honestly though keep a soap character around long enough you’ll see their character be twisted beyond recognition then suddenly morph back. It happens.
i’ve seen all the posts about charles going in for a fight with aaron because aaron isn’t showing his mother respect (something she doesn’t deserve from him) and i know that aaron would beat his ass in SECONDS.
also the village still doesn’t know that chas made aaron leave the village on the day of liv’s funeral because she chose her affair with al over him - if they knew this then they would hardly forgive chas either which is probably why chas hasn’t told anyone.
Emmerdale spoilers: Terrified Chas Dingle pushes Aaron to have cancer check after shock revelation
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was recently rocked to discover that she has breast cancer in Emmerdale. Because her mum, Faith (Sally Dexter) – and Faith’s Aunt Flossie – died of breast cancer she got tested to see if she had the BRCA2 gene.
In episodes to be aired soon she gets the news that she does have the faulty gene.
Even worse, it means that her brothers Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash) and her son Aaron (Danny Miller) could well have the gene too – meaning they’re also at higher risk of breast cancer (which can affect men as well as women) and could pass the gene to their children, too.
Chas is most worried about Aaron. The two have recently become closer as Aaron has apparently decided to put his bad behaviour behind him and focus on his mum.
Chas pushes him to make an appointment to be referred for a gene test. Aaron is left uncomfortable by the pressure Chas is putting on him and tries to deflect her when she brings the subject up.
In the Woolpack the Dingles are all busy having conversations about the BRCA2 gene and what it might mean for various family members.
Ruby (Beth Cordingly) overhears and insists that Caleb tells her what they’re talking about – because she hates to be excluded from any drama.
As poor Chas looks on, mortified, an argument is soon underway between Ruby and Caleb, to the point where Cain feels he has to get involved to try to calm things down.
Caleb agrees they should take the argument outside, but Ruby won’t budge and soon Cain ends up with a knee in the groin as a reward for his diplomatic work.
In the back room Lydia (Karen Blick) and other members of the family try to support Chas, who is worried about Aaron, and is scared for what the future might hold.
They agree that finding the lump early has given her the best chance of a good recovery.
But will Aaron also give himself the best chance by getting tested?
