So this one actually wasn't as in-depth of a revamp as the others in the set, and didn't have really any extras. In a sense though I guess that makes him a perfect start to this group before I drop the others.

My homebrew Matchup Idea: Kinnikuman vs. Juan Aguacate

-Both are mask wearing, pro wrestling heroes who belong in a superhuman class of there worlds (Chojin and Luchadores)

-Both started out as practical nobodies who's dream was to become one one of said superhuman wrestlers while living in a less than ideal house named after themselves (Kinnikuman was considered the worst superhero in the world and lived in a shack attached to a public restroom (The Kinniku House) and Juan had his dreams broken of being a luchador and lived in a tequila distillery Casa de Juan))

-Both wear special masks that hold special properties (Kinnikuman's mask is a family tradition and if he lifts it up his face produces a magical light nicknamed the "Kinniku Face Flash" while Juan's mask is a magical artifact that allows him to switch between the World of the Living and the World of the Dead)

-Both have a large variety of enhanced wrestling moves that consist of powerful wrestling techniques and more absurd moves (Kinnikuman has awesome moves like the "Kinniku Buster" and the "Kinniku Driver" while also having moves like "A$$ Cheek Scissors" and "Trunks Driver") (Juan has super powered moves like "Rooster Uppercut" and "Frog Splash" but also has absurd moves like "Fresh Breath" or "Dashing Derp Derp")

-Both learned their techniques from legendary masters (Kinnikuman learned his moves from Prince Kamehame while Juan learned his moves from Uay Chivo)

Will be thinking for a terribly long time abt @heyimmoony saying Gai has some hero worship going on with Ryu. bc that is extremely accurate

Gai is super masking his true feelings abt Ryu up until this episode. up until this point, he was always dismissing Ryu, calling him a stupid bastard who doesn't know how to love and all that. BUT THE SECOND Raita calls Ryu "pitiful" he IMMEDIATELY gets defensive, dare I say protective

And the rest of the team clearly already know Gai respects Ryu; they know that below the persona of the cold-hearted loner is a scared lil boy who does believe in justice and all he wants is some friends bc of the whole "personalities hidden within one's subconscious get brought to the surface via soda" episode (wish there was a more succinct way to describe that btw)

Seeing Ryu, a man he deeply respects, a man he envies, shun the responsibilities as team leader is too much for Gai and he finally drops the mask. he cannot and will not bare to see his beloved hero give up

This episode marks a noticeable shift in their relationship, the transition from bitter rivals to brothers in arms (although Gai will continue to be a bit prickly and snarky with Ryu. gotta keep his hero humble after all)

A very swift transition in fact. the very next episode they're sharing whisky, which is the first time we see Ryu drinking something that isn't milk. just for Gai. beautiful amazing 10/10 writing
