on the flip side of that Toxic Skincare Obsession post: I’m tired of seeing sun protection presented as another frivolous, unnecessary product of the patriarchy
“I’m going to sit in the sun with wine and enjoy it and fuck anti-aging products like SPF!” I mean yes normalize and celebrate people- especially women -not looking 22 forever but also
Skin Cancer Is Bad Maybe?

I've recently seen Sirius described as cowardly and just what??? Sirius, who rode a flying motorbike, who rebeled against his family and their bigoted beliefs, who ran away from home as a teenager? Sirius, who became an illegal animagus at sixteen, who joined the fight against voldemort at eighteen, who escaped from prison to go protect Harry, who did not give up on that task even if being caught meant losing his soul? Sirius, who gave up his freedom to be close to Harry and support him, who was restless at grimmauld place because he wanted to actively rejoin the fight against voldemort, who ultimately died running straight into that fight to protect his godson? There isn't a cowardly bone in his body. There's playing with characters, and then there's taking a core, defining part of them and throwing it in the bin.

It'll never stop being funny how people can see something in fiction and recognize it's wrong but for some reason, can't seem to translate that to real life and see how those same things are reflected in their behavior.
y'all watch episode 2, you see Louis face horrific macro aggressions while trying to conduct simple business, you watch him rightfully get angry, you cheer when he kills the man for what is agreed to be a blatant display of racism. you watch him then explain to lestat what the man did and why he reacted the way he did.
and you clutch your pearls when lestat is dismissive, disregarding louis' struggles and calling him confusing, that he's too dramatic and he needs to get over the racism he faces everyday because they just can't keep having this argument about their differences lestat is tired of it! you question how he can be so flippant to a very serious issue that he previously claimed to care about.
But then you come on this tag, you see black people, frustrated and exhausted, calling out the racism they face, explain how harrowing it is, how isolating and sinister it is, and you roll your eyes, dismiss it and call it "fandom drama", we're overreacting and we should drop it already because we can't keep having this "discourse" over and over again, the carousel comes round again and you're tired of it!
I simply have to laugh

A thing most people probably know already, but this is Lullington church, the real-life church that the Smallest Church in Susssex (or Saint-Saens) is written about. There's been a church there since the 12th century, and this version of it was built from the burnt out ruins of its predecessor following a fire in the 1400s. It's near the Seven Sisters cliffs which are referenced in the song and in the game, although in game they are changed to become les Sept Soeurs- the seven Dolorian stave churches on the coast.

As Oliver stared down at the ring for the umpteenth time, he heard someone walk into the kitchen. He hoped to god it was someone else, he'd even take Connie but as luck would have it, it was Cata.
"What have you got there?" she asked. Oliver could hear the smirk in her voice; she had definitely seen the ring. Well, he thought to himself, this was finally his moment.
Oliver beckoned her over and squashed down all his nerves. He smiled his brightest most charming smile, knelt on one knee and asked the question.
Cata stood silent for a while and shame began to envelope Oliver.
"We can go to Oasis Springs, I hear they'll say yes to a marriage licence there and I know it's not the Church and I haven't much but-"
Cata cut him off with a kiss, "Of course I'll marry you, I've been waiting ages for you to finally ask."
Hearing that Oliver immediately made plans to hire a wagon to Oasis Springs where Cata could finally become his wife.

getting reallll tired of white people and the media labeling things “gen z” when the things are really BLACKNESS that has been around forever, but is now being co-oped by gen z because of their perpetual exposure to social media and the actual black people who make all the trends on said social media 🙃

Observing peoples reactions to morally gray or black actions committed by different characters is so funny. Throughout all of G. War the character tags were chock-full of people unironically enraged claiming “Bruce isn’t even capable of doing something bad like that.” about an action that is pretty well in line with his character journey thus far, meanwhile there are still new posts that gain traction that open with lines like “I know Jason has committed his fair share of sins/crimes but” like bro when. In 2010?
Also. The whole premise of the b*tfamily™ that you so love is built on the load bearing wall being that they are a crime family. Hell, do people just collectively forget the part where Bruce manufactures and freely uses weapons with his own furry brand logo plastered all over them, causing all sorts of 'explosions and more!' property damage all over the streets of Gotham? Pretty sure that makes him a terrorist but you people don't feel the need to go around reminding fandom of that every five minutes.

people on twitter are drawing their blorbos in hazbin hotel style as a joke and I kind of wanna try it, but I don't wanna draw Jack skinny for it, eventho it's a running joke that vivziepop can't draw fat people, I actually wanna try it as style practice?
+ I've seen the show creator draw diverse bodies before, she just chooses not to include diverse bodytypes in her work, it's not that she doesn't know how to draw fat people.... she just won't

as far as social media sites go, even if some people on here are. A Lot. And there's bad corners, as per everywhere... Still, compared to Some Other Large Sites there is an appreciation for the Human here. The experience of being human, the joy of creation, exploration of the reasons we share things and the motivations and experiences of authors. Of reflecting on how works impacted us. How even simple funne posts or whatever impact us.
