Ares Defender Cabrio, 2023. Italian carrozzeria Ares Modena have revealed a new version of their open topped Land Rover Defender. Whilst details are limited it's likely their Cabrio will be offered with the same 4.7-litre naturally-aspirated 282hp Land Rover V8 or 475hp supercharged version as their other Defender models.

Dodge Viper-based Defender prop car from “Viper”

Set in the "near future" as envisioned in the early 1990s, "Viper" was about a federal task force based in fictional Metro City, California, that fought crime using an armored vehicle called the Defender that masqueraded as a Dodge Viper. The show first aired in early 1994 on NBC and continued in syndication between 1996 and 1999.

The Defender was designed by Chrysler, and built on a stretched 1993 Dodge Viper RT/10 chassis by Unique Movie Cars in Las Vegas. A 360-cubic-inch Chrysler V-8 replaced the Viper V-10, driving the rear wheels through a Chrysler 727 3-speed automatic transmission. The suspension, steering, and brakes are thought to be carryover Viper hardware, according to the auction listing.

The driver faces three round instruments, including a 180-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and a fake crosshair sight, with three simulated screens off to the side showing static images of fictional vehicle diagnostics. The two seats are upholstered in gray leather, but the car lacks seat belts and climate control. You can get fresh air by removing the windows, though, which are attached by Velcro.

i feel like i see a lot of people praising nora’s “be strong and hit stuff” moment in volume 8 and i’m like??? no!!!!! that’s not supposed to be something we’re cheering on!! she is reducing herself to having one personality trait and was left with scars b/c of it. yeah, she's badass but that wasn't the takeaway you were supposed to have from that scene?? she is so much more than someone who can "hit stuff." she was operating under the assumption that that's all she is, and that was quite literally self-destructive for her. that's the entire reason she's being set up to have an arc outside of her relationship with ren; so she can find out more about herself

It’s also easier to drive thanks to a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and quickshift responsiveness. And to uphold its rugged reputation, the 70th Edition gets a dual-speed transfer case with a center differential, as well as updated suspension components and brakes. You can’t buy it here, sadly, but it might just be worth it to move to the UK just to own one. Only 150 of these will be made, and we hope you get yours in classic green.

Land Rover Defender Works 90 V8 "Islay Edition," 2023. A special edition restomod project by Land Rover's Classic division that celebrates 75 years of the iconic 4x4. The work can be carried out on any 2012-2016 Defender 90 and includes a comprehensive restoration, fitting a 400hp 5.0 V8 with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox and interior retrimmed with  ‘Windsor Ebony’ leather. The vehicles are all finished in Heritage Grey and reference the 1965 Series IIa owned by Spencer Wilks - one of the founders of Land Rover. Wilks used the Scottish Island of Islay to test Land Rovers, hence the name. Restorations will be limited to 13 vehicles that will cost £245,000
